The box says that it comes with a removable filter basket, will I didn't get one
Originally purchased for travel then began daily use. 16 oz bottled water ideal for filling, makes two 8oz servings. Removable filter basket permits residual grinds to transfer into the mug which is undesirable, remedied with use of paper filters, pictured. No more residue and improved flavor. Automatic shutoff when brew is done. No keep warm feature.
I chose it because the color scheme for the items on my desk is pink. Best decision I made buying a one cup. I’ve saved a lot of money buying it and it works well and is just the right size and cute color. My only complaint is that it leaks when it’s brewing. At first I thought it was something I did wrong but you can’t over fill it. It only started doing that after a few uses. Overall it’s worth it.
Though I did not purchase this thru coffeemakers.us.com, I did recently buy this unit. It is about as inexpensive a unit as you can find, works well and I have had no problems. My one complaint, to date, is that the clock is black on grey LED. For me, I find it hard to read as opposed to the red LED on a previous version. I also bought this at Walmart due to the cost savings. I paid about $21.00 with tax in California.
Was advertised as new but arrived in awful condition. Clearly this french press had been around the block a few times and putting it in a new box isn't going to hide that.
This is a good small coffee maker if you're tight on space or and don't need to make multiple cups in a row. It takes K-cups type pods but also comes with a small basket for using your own ground coffee if that's what you prefer. I compared it against my much bigger K-cup maker which I've probably had for 15 years. Both have a descaling feature which something you need to pay attention to, especially if you have hard water. The old K-cup maker is much larger and takes up a chunk of counter space. The new Horavie is several inches shorter and narrower and has a much smaller footprint. Weight wise, the Horavie comes in at 2 lbs, 3 oz., with the OG K-cup maker coming in at a whopping 10 lbs, 7 oz. However, the real proof comes to see how fast it actually makes a cup of coffee. After turning both makers on and running a single cup of hot water through them just to get them heated up, the Horavie takes just over two minutes to make a single 12 oz. cup while the older K-cup maker taking just over 1 minute. However, if you start them both up, cold, the old K-cup maker takes a couple more minutes to warm up, presumably because it holds much more water. The older K cup maker holds about 48 oz. of water while the reservior in the Horavie only holds 12 oz., or just enough for a single cup. So if you need to make multiple cups of coffee for a bunch of impatient people, you probably need a larger, heavier duty coffee maker like the old one I still have. However, for people who don't mind the smaller reservior and don't mind an extra minute of brewing time, then this K-cup maker will work just fine. Not to mention the smaller footprint on your counter which can make a huge difference if you're tight on space.. PRODUCT UPDATE: After using this for a month, I decided to do an update. MY overall rating dropped one star. Everything I said before is still accurate, but after using it. I would not buy the white model. The reason is it splatters, especially when it's finishing a cup. The splattered coffee shows up on the white coffee maker. If I had it to do over, I'd get the black.
I absolutely love love love this! Not only is it absolutely beautiful!! It perks so quick. I just love everything about it!!! Way beyond my expectations!!!!
Not sure
I absolutely LOVE my Keurig. It is small but it packs a punch. I hate having stuff on my counters but with the Keurig’s slim design, it hardly takes up any room on my counter.
Didn't work right from day 1. I followed the directions carefully- cleaned machine first, let it heat up, etc. Ended up with less coffee and a total mess inside and out. Tried again next day - same thing. I noticed there's a nail in the kcup holder instead of a standard pin- not entirely sure if this is why it sucks, I'm no kcup expert, but thinking it probably is the reason. I didn't try the ground coffee, so can't speak to that, but really didn't want to take a chance again, especially after going back and seeing all the negative reviews I should have paid attention to prior. Anyway, lesson learned.
I was an early supporter of this project on Kickstarter. I waited anxiously for it to be released. When mine finally arrived, I was disappointed. While it is hefty and keeps coffee warm for a long time, it's only marginally better at keeping coffee warm than my Mueller French Press which is nearly 1/3 the cost. For fit and finish, mine is rough. There are two manufacturing marks in the side, and the overall finish is not smooth (perhaps intentionally to make it look more "rugged"?). The seal for the lid that the directions say specifically you'll need "to give a good pull" to get out just isn't tight... it slides in and out with ease and falls into place without any effort. I'm also slightly baffled that the hole in the lid that lets the coffee pour is ABOVE the seal. Even when you turn it around to the back (away from the spout), it's still above the seal and steam/heat can easily escape through it. Overall, I'd take my Mueller press (which is hefty as well, and beautifully finished) over this one hands down.
This coffee machine is great. Fast, reliable. The coffee tastes just like in those fancy coffee shops.
I love It
I have always wanted a French Press, so this seemed like a good choice! It arrived boxed and well wrapped. It’s has a nice feel to it, but I was surprised at the small size. I was a bit surprised that it didn’t come with any instructions. I had to look up the size and begin searching recipes. I didn’t have coarse coffee grounds on hand, so I used regular grounds to give it a try. This holds a small mug of coffee. I heated the water first and added it to the French Press. This heats up the press to welcome the coffee grounds. Don’t let the water boil or your coffee will taste burnt. So keep the temperature under 212 degrees. I used 1.5 scoops of coffee grounds and let it steep for 3-4 minutes. Smooth sailing after that! Push the plunger slowly to separate the coffee grounds from the coffee! Clean up was easy! Just some guesswork and trial and error along the way. For the price, I was expecting more. Prices range as low as $9.99 here at coffeemakers.us.com and go into the $30 range. I would expect this to be in the lower range. The current $28 price point is a at too high.
Loving my new french press travel mug. I've recently become obsessed with trying different varieties of local coffee and this allows me to brew small batches and take it on the go. It does a great job of filtering out coffee grounds, and fits perfectly in my car cup holder. Highly recommended!
