My husband wanted an auto fill coffee maker for years. They were too expensive. Tried this kit and loved it. Everything worked great! Drill piece included worked excellent! So fantastic not to have to fill the water anymore! The waterline is a separate water line from the refrigerator ice maker . Would recommend!
The very first time I used this mug it leaked out the side of the mug, you can see in the last photo. Every was great until then. There are a lot of warnings with this mug like hand wash only, don't use milk, juice, or liquids containing salt. Plus more. The lid did keep my coffee warm for a good while. The filter worked great and made good coffee. When drinking it DID NOT leak out of the side.
I like making cold brew coffee, since it's so inexpensive compared to buying store brands. I own another cold brew jug and filter, but this one is much larger at 64 ounces. The mesh filter is strong and sturdy, and the mesh is ultra fine. The instructions say to use a 1:8 ratio of coffee to water, and to steep the brew for at least 12 hours. The jug comes with a stainless steel mixing spoon, which is handy if you want to stir in sweetener or milk after brewing. My one minor issue is the plastic cap on this jug. The handle does bend when the jug is full, so I also support the jug from the bottom. Also, the pouring cap should snap a bit tighter, in my opinion. It does stay closed, but it's a soft close and feels like it might get loose over time. This jug can be used to make coffee or tea. I'll be using it for sun tea in the summer months. Definitely recommend!
I love the Mr Coffee coffee maker! However, the spring button on the bottom of the filter basket broke within the first 2 weeks. I’ve had several Mr Coffee makers and this one is equally great. Unfortunately the button did not have a washer around the part where it holds it on the inside and it broke due to being super fragile. I McGuiver’ed it with a paper clip until my replacement arrived. It would have received 5 stars if it was not for this fatal flaw … or poor workmanship, Im not sure. Beware of that issue Update: beware that there are not viable replacement baskets for this system. I ordered the one suggested and it did not work. I was finally allowed to return the coffee maker at a highly reduced price. BEWARE
I have used an Aeropress for years and still take it when I travel but once my husband started drinking “my” coffee I needed a better option for making multiple cups. This press is easy to use, easy to clean and the coffee is superb! It takes a little trial and error to get your proportions based on the strength you enjoy but we now have it down!! LOVE, love, LOVE! One caution is not to grind your coffee too finely. You can have a backfire because the filter gets clogged. If this happens it is not the press. It is the grind. Enjoy!!
The glass broke after the second use. The bottom blew out when I was pulling out the filter the way the instructions read.
We've been using Mr. Coffee for about 15 years and love the hot but not burnt flavorful coffee that these simple models reliably deliver. This one is no exception to that rule but I do have 2 gripes with the design of this new model: the lines on the machine are not printed on but instead are impressed on the inside. This makes those markings effectively unusable. I have attached a photo to show that. I took this photo this morning after having last made coffee last morning. The condensation makes the lines illegible. Without the condensation (if you would dry it out after it cools after each use but who does that?) the lines are still pretty hard to read. My second gripe is that the arm that pours hot water onto the coffee grounds does not get pushed back into place with the lid as it closes. The last model I owned did that. So I have to move the arm back over the grounds after I have put in the new filter and grounds. It still makes good coffee. I hope it is reliable (I've been using it less than 1 week so far), but it does have 2 things that irritate me each morning because my old one had these things figured out and now I've lost that. Also I should add that the picture of the coffee maker on the box shows the measurement lines on the machine printed, not empressed. There's a bit of false advertising there. UPDATE: After almost 1 year of use, the on/off switch broke and therefore renders this coffee maker useless. I'm pretty disappointed with Mr. Coffee after this experience and am looking for a replacement brand.
Dont buy this
I had this coffee maker less than a month and used it less than 10 times. It caught on fire. I was just lucky I was nearby and it was right under my kitchen smoke detector. It wasn’t just smoking there were flames shooting out the bottom. Not safe!!
Hi, my name is "Jon" and I'm a Teaholic. I drink iced tea almost exclusively and, for the past 30 years, or so, have been using a Mr. Coffee Iced Tea maker. Not the same one, of course, but have purchased multiple over the years. It worked fine for iced tea, but I've been on a mission to get rid of all plastics as far as heating and storing food. This 1 gallon tea/coffee maker is a perfect replacement. It makes and holds a full quart more than the 3 qt. iced tea makers, doesn't stain so it's easy to clean, and the spigot makes it ultra convenient to dispense without having to take it out of the fridge. I get very hot water right from the tap and have no problems adding that right to the glass pitcher BUT I'm very careful not to do this while the pitcher is cold to avoid cracking the glass. If the pitcher is still cold from the fridge, I simply fill it with some luke-warm water and swirl it around to help bring up the temperature of the glass before refilling with hot water. Next, the cap/top needs to be a little loose to allow airflow into the container or the coffee/tea will not flow correctly from the spigot. It's a little on the pricey side when you consider it's just a large mason jar with a filter and spigot, but it's ideal if you like cold brew and/or drink a lot of iced coffee or tea.
I received this a few days ago and I love everything about it, except that I have yet to get it to brew at or above the 12 cup line. It is consistently below the line. I like my pots of coffee full, so I normally add water to above the top line. Also, this 12 cup carafe is less coffee than my previous 12 cup coffee maker. This is more like a 10 cup. I gauge this by how much is left over in the pot after my family's normal morning routine. Nothing, there's nothing left and one of our travel mugs gets shorted. I love the idea of a completely cleanable coffee maker, and it does make a tasty pot. I do not love spending this kind of money on a 12 cup coffee maker and not getting the full pot. I am aware that cups in this instance are not based on 8oz, but usually on 6. I feel like this one is less than that. Thumbs up for the look and design- that is five star. Thumbs down for quantity- three stars for that.
Using a coffee frother to mix hot chocolate and instant coffee can seem nice, but eventually those overflow. This powered mug, however, has a built in stirrer that ensures you can get the perfect mix every time (without spilling). I can see this also being great for mixing in protein powders and using in the gym. It's got a built in temperature sensor at the top so you can see how warm (or cold) your coffee is, and has a built in tea/coffee filter for brewing right in the container. This doesn't come with any instructions so takes a bit to figure out - pressing on the top and holding will turn the temperature sensor on or off, while holding the little area on the side will turn the stirrer on or off (just be sure not to bump it). It comes with cloth strap, that attaches to the top of the cup, but quickly got dirty when we first washed the cup (so removed it). Because the cup has electrical components inside, it is hand wash only (just be careful of scrubbing out the inside so you don't lose the magnetic stirrer). As for design, the charger is a straight cable the attaches magnetically to the bottom - which means the cup lies on the side while it's charging (can't charge when it's full), and because its a round cup, it will roll around and easily knock off the charger. It's a coffee maker cup with everything I could need in one, only it's design execution makes it a bit hard to use on the regular.
Prepare yourself to be amazed. If you're somebody who drinks coffee like its water and could care less about brand/flavor, the K250 may not be for you my friend! If you are somebody who appreciates and savors every sip of exceptional coffee, you need this machine! I already own a Keurig K65 and think it's a great coffee maker. But the Keurig 2.0 K250 is my new best friend. You have to really appreciate good coffee to truly appreciate this machine. It's true, the new Keurig 2.0's only allows you to use new K-cups manufactured for Keurig and because of that, I will drop a star rating. I can understand that being a issue for some consumers, but I always try to purchase my K-cups during a sale or I find great deals here on coffeemakers.us.com for them. The New Keurig 2.0 K250 has an amazing touch screen that allows you to customize your perfect cup, there is even a "strong" setting for people like me who enjoy a bold cup of coffee. This machine is so smart! The water reservoir wraps around the back of the machine for a sleek design, I just lift the lid and refill instead of taking it off completely. I find that this machine takes slightly longer to brew a cup compared to my old Keurig, but hey perfection takes time. Eventually I will purchase the optional carafe and try brewing a whole pot. I very much enjoyed the Keurig K65 I purchased a few years ago and was absolutely thrilled when I was chosen to receive this Keurig 2.0 K250 for testing/review purposes. I look forward to customizing my perfect cup every morning.
Love This Marvel X-Men Coffee Maker It's Just What I Wanted.
