My husband and I did a lot of research and reading of reviews before we picked our newest coffee machine. We had a Capresso that lasted eight years before several parts gave out. We had our eye on a Technivorm but weren't sure if we wanted to drop $300 on a coffee maker. In the end, we went with this one and haven't looked back. We love this machine! We have wooden cabinets with a lip on them, giving us only 16" of height, and initially were concerned about the Technivorm fitting, but because of the design, it sits perfectly on the counter in front of the cabinet without ever having to move it. With our old machine, we were constantly shifting it back and forth between filling it with water and coffee, brewing, and cleaning. The Technivorm remains stationary and we use a water pitcher to fill it. Also, for anyone wondering if the colored base of the machine is plastic or metal, it's metal. I assumed it would be plastic and was really happy to see that it's not. It's nice and sturdy. We got the slate grey, which goes well with our kitchen colors, but I'm sure it's handsome in any color. Firstly, it's really easy to set up and use. Just read the little booklet and you can't go wrong. For the first few brews, we used the #4 paper filters that came in the box, but we ultimately switched to a stainless/gold filter. Despite the mild warning in the instructions that you won't get as good a cup of coffee using a gold filter, we're not noticing a difference in flavor. Secondly, all the parts of the coffee maker are easy to clean. We also wash the filter each time with hot water and Dawn to try and remove any leftover oil from the coffee grounds. We did have to do some experimentation with how much coffee we were grinding to get our preferred strength. If you go with what Technivorm recommends, the coffee is *REALLY* strong (not to mention you're grinding more for each pot, and you'll go through your bags of beans a lot faster). If you want more espresso-flavored, European-style coffee, then put 7 scoops or 68g of freshly ground coffee beans in. You'll have no trouble staying awake. For our taste preference, we do two 20-second grinds in our burr grinder, which yields between 5-6 level scoops, closer to 50g. Between that and the 40oz of water which Technivorm says is "10 cups" (or four 10-oz cups), the coffee is still very robust but without being bitter, and we can taste all the notes from our coffee beans. The coffee comes out piping hot and smells and tastes amazing every time. I've had my two cups of coffee for the day and writing this makes me want to brew another pot. Extremely happy with our purchase -- worth every penny!
This was my second replacement Chemex. I’d been very careful with it since my last one broke. Something fell out of a cabinet above it and it was no match for it. I had to go a few days with other coffee brewing methods until a replacement came. I find Chemex with natural Chemex filters makes the most delicious brews out of all methods I’ve tried.
I have a minipresso, my dad said he can't believe this little things can make such a perfect espresso , Even better than the $500 machine. So I bought the newest nanopresso to him, It was smaller and lighter than minipresso, and the pistons were smoother and my dad was so happy that he planned to take it to Hawaii for A vacation.
We have had a Keurig for a couple years now and love it. We also have a vacation home in Mexico. We looked all over for a Keurig in Cabo, but had no luck, even Costco doesn't carry it. We have became so used to the great coffee that the Keurig produces, that we brought the k250 down with us with a box of coffee from Costco...
There are no instructions that came with mine. 60 plus years of drinking coffee in a variety of coffee makers, I know how to use this, and it works pretty good. On our electric stove, it takes about 10 - 12 minutes for a full 8 cups to complete. The cool thing about a percolator design, it heats the water to the perfect brewing temp of 205°F. You can tell when it is done when the glass dome shows the water becoming darker. As soon as you see the tint start, give it about 2 more minutes. Lower the heat if it is perking to violently. Turn off the heat and allow it to stop perking. Then serve. Be careful, this makes nice HOT coffee. I want to note the spring. Be careful NOT to lose this spring. The percolator will allow coffee grounds to get into the coffee without the spring. I found that I could push the spring down onto the tube stop enough that the spring stop hold the spring firmly, reducing the chance of losing it. All in all this is a very good, well made percolator coffee maker. Makes really good coffee. Perfect in the morning. Well worth a full 5 stars!
I wasn't sure the copper would work for me as I have a grey and white kitchen and stainless appliances so I ordered the silver as a back up. But, I think the copper press is a lovely accent piece to my kitchen so I canceled the silver. Anxious for my first cup of coffee in this lovely press.

January 2025. I'm amending my review, unfortunately. $400 coffee machine, dead after 7 months. Very bummed about it. Purchased in March 2024. In September-October, the brew unit started leaking at the seams causing the grounds to get mucked up. I contacted customer support via email. It took 2 weeks to get a response. I explained the issues and asked for a replacement brew unit. They said no, I had to send the whole machine in. It took another week to receive a shipping label. After that, well, downhill from there. I sent it in. Another 10 days go by without any word. Finally, Dec. 3rd, get the machine back, put it on the counter, filled the water tank, pushed the brew button and it leaked all the water out the bottom of the machine. It didn't even get any grounds into the puck/brew unit. Contacted support again, sent photos, they apologized and told me to send it back again. So I did. On Dec 20th they shipped it back for the second time. It was destroyed in shipping due to lack of packing material; literally, was banging around in the box. Contacted support again, sent photos unpacking it and out of the box completely wonky from damage. Six days later, support emails me with apologies, and offered to send a certified refurbished replacement machine (and, no, they wouldn't give it a full year warranty, only what was left on my original machine which by now was down to 3 months). January 7th we got the refurbished machine, stoked to finally have a good cup of coffee. We got two decent cups out of it, then the water tank leaked the remainder of the water out the bottom of the machine. Contacted support right away/same day. It's now Jan 21st, and no response. I even called into the support line, waited for over 30 mins, got told they'd call me back... nada. So, I'm updating my review to try to protect other consumers from the same loss. March 2024 Far better than the Phillips 3200. This Tchibo coffee maker is easy, quiet, and simply makes an excellent cup of coffee without all the fuss.
I Didn’t get a pod holder
I have been finding small silver film flakes on the counter top and couldn’t figure out where they were coming from. Today they were on top of the pot. Luckily I saw them before I filled my cup. The picture coffeemakers.us.com provides of the coffee maker shows very shiny silver trim. It’s a thin film that flakes right off. See my picture for yourself. It will still make a decent cup of coffee but I’m not impressed with the quality. I can’t believe Mr Coffee puts their name on this.
This Technivorm Moccamaster Coffee maker replaced a Wilfa coffer maker that we had gotten at Williams Sonoma almost 5 years ago. The Wilfa, also expensive and European made, made good coffee and was very stylish but Williams Sonoma had stopped carrying them and replacement parts were difficult to get. I had contacted the company in Europe on a couple of occasions and they were always responsive but less so with their American representative. When the motor finally gave way it was time to move on. I had looked at the Technivorm back when I ended up buying the Wilfa and I should've gone with the Technivorm back then. I love everything about this machine: it makes great, flavorful coffee (and I don't use particularly expensive beans) and stays plenty hot enough for us. I've made just over 100 pots in it since the beginning of the summer and it...is...perfect. I love the simplicity; the cleaniblility; the 5 year warranty; the retro look. Yeah, go ahead and spend the $20 extra bucks and get the color you like (we got pistachio) - you're going to have this machine a long time.
my bf got this for me and i use it DAILY. Doesn’t take long at all to brew, so cute, easy to use i love love love.
Worst coffee brewer I’ve owned. When I use k cups it rips the top and the coffee grounds and water spill all over the place. See photo . I've read all the instructions and done as specified. We tried the coffee pot today with the gold basket and there were grounds in the coffee pot as well. Will not be buying a Cuisinart product again. Company sent me a new coffee pot. Very pleased with the replacement. Good customer service!
Easy to use, great tasting coffee. Would it hurt to include just a handful of filters with the actual product?
Washed the pot noticed a black film, washed, rinsed, wiped with soft cloth. Preared as directed. Never smelt good. Perked really nice. Waited as directed..poured smelter gross, not drinking this. Waited poured again gross smell. Dumped all. Washed pot. Black film all over the basket, inside lid, inside pot.. Will try one more time in the morning then it gets sent back. What is that smell and black film??? Day 4 used wrap around filters worked great. Still NO coffee smell while perking and after. Taste ok and I use Folgers Black Silk even put extra for that rick coffee smell and taste NOPE. Not sure keeping pot. I think it is the pot it smells funny even after washing it and rinsing and drying it and left it open to the air just in case. Baking soda bath maybe??
