It’s my first purchase of a French Press… and I’m not disappointed in the least. This thing is perfect! 👍🏼 I love the fact that it’s stainless steel… holds the heat in for quite awhile, cleans up so easily, and no worries about glass breaking since there is none! The screen is easily rinsed clean. It has a really good fit and has not allowed any coffee grounds to come up while being plunged down. I do not take my screen apart to clean it. I just run it under the faucet water until it’s clean, so no issues with anything being stripped and not going back in place. It’s the perfect size for me since I’m not able to drink more than 1 cup of caffeinated coffee a day (caffeine makes me nauseous if more than one cup… even using the GOOD coffee). I use a HUGE 20 ounce cup though! I use my coffeemakers.us.comBasics Electric coffee pot to instantly heat my water… add the grounds to the press, swirl the hot water over the grounds… cover and let it sit for about 3-4 minutes. I stir the grounds, cover and let it sit another minute or two… push the plunger down slowly, turn the cap to the “pour” arrow and slowly fill my blender cup. I make bullet proof coffee in my blender cup then pour into my coffee mug… perfect! Easy! I was going to buy one with a glass carafe and metal frame work… so I could see my coffee and watch the plunger go down. But I’m seriously so glad that I bought this one instead. Seriously, who needs to SEE it… TASTE and DURABILITY are more important to me. I truly feel it will last a very long time… and no worries about any glass part breaking. It’s a definite WIN!
We had been eyeing this machine for a while now. We’ve been growing out Smart Home collection, selectively, for a few years. We have an Atomi Smart coffee maker with a burr grinder, but the grinder crapped out on us and the added warranty I got in that was not honored by coffeemakers.us.com. That gripe is neither here nor there, as we decided to downsize from the grinder to a traditional drip machine to limit complications. With that in mind we were thrilled to see that there was a Smart Coffee Maker from a *reputable* big name company, Hamilton Beach, a brand that I grew up with in my parents home. They had the same appliances from HB for literally a decade or more and those were only replaced when they needed something larger or something else. So it arrived last Saturday and we read the instructions and got it set up on a perfectly level glass surface (in the exact same location as the Atomi sat for its entire time with us). Got it connected to Alexa and set the timer. Before we went to bed, I added the coffee, filled it up with water and was off to bed. 5:30 AM arrived and I was PUMPED to drink my coffee. I stepped in to the dark kitchen, grabbed my cup, added the cream and then stepped towards the machine… into a puddle of water. It leaked, all 12 cups, three feet across the floor. I chalked it up to not being level. My bad, I thought, it’s brand new. Growing pains. I moved it to our kitchen table (large flat and level surface) filled it with water again and hit start. Coffee was great! No leaking. We left it on the table because it worked Sunday morning after the first nights hiccup. That evening, we got it set up again, set a timer on my phone for 20 minutes and checked to make sure it wasn’t leaking - all was good. Went to bed. Next morning arrived and wouldn’t you know it, my kitchen was once again flooded. But the damage, the literal damage, was far worse. This time the water pooled under the machine and warped the tip of the table beyond repair (see the bright line warping on the near side in the photo), leaked down on/in our cats cardboard hut (also bought on coffeemakers.us.com) and destroyed that too. All I wanted was coffee. I am enraged. It is one thing for a product to not work. It’s another entirely when that product renders other items in its vicinity inoperable too. Do not buy this product. I warn you, do not.
Pretty darn good! We did a taste test between smaller size fellow carafe w/ paper filter pour over, same coffee same grind size same water temp etc and they both actually tasted ever so slightly different! This had a slight upper hand for us both- for my more coffee expert partner he thought this brew tasted slightly sweeter. My main discernment was the other tasted slightly less complex and more vaguely cardboard-y. So this gets 5 star on that alone. TBA on how it holds up in the future. If we had to nitpick, there's some ergonomic areas to improve- like the curved thick tube shape handle was less stable to hold than the fellow carafe which is flat. Also the pour spout pours a bit harder on this one. They are different, fellow spout doesn't dip down (just 1 uniform level top including spout) and this one does.
So I was hunting down coffee machines for an affordable price and came across this beautiful machine. I'm a college junior and spent way to much money on coffee so I found this as a compromise to my spending. I have saved HUNDREDS of dollars with this machine. I can even replicate lattes and cappuccinos from my local coffee shops with this machine. It doesn't take up a whole lot of space on your counter but it does take up more than your average coffee pot brewer. But that's only due to the milk frother. Which does such a wonderful job. Video is attached to this review. The appearance is also very nice, and looks impressive and eyedrawing on your countertop but not in a bad way at all. I've convinced 3 other friends to buy this exact machine. Haven't needed to replace the filter yet and I bought this bad boy on July and it's the first of October when writing this review. The noise is okay, not silent but it's not obnoxiously loud either, and it's pretty fast. It's one serving but it also does iced options with is nice as well. If you are looking for good coffee and a affordable price this is the machine for you.
I learned about this product on TikTok and decided to try it out because I do love a nice iced coffee in the morning. Purchased coffee grounds off coffeemakers.us.com and gave it a try and it turns out delicious every time. I save so much money by not buying premade cold brews at the store.
Very nice coffee maker! It is stainless steel and has the thermos that keep’s coffee hot and tastes fresh. I woke up 2 hrs after the coffee was brewed and it was still piping hot. The night before I tested it with water to see how long it takes to brew a whole pot, it took exactly 13 minutes. It has an easy pull out basket with a handle that you lift it out with. To pour the coffee from the thermos you have to push the lever to open the spout. The time was easy to set and program. This coffee maker uses the cone shaped filters. I’m very pleased with this product.
Our old coffee maker was on the way out, Got tired of Luke warm coffee. So we thought we'd give this one a try. The first one that showed up was missing a few parts so we sent it back. They were prompt to send us another unit. It was fairly easy to set up and use. I have to admit the constant fill feature is an absolute game changer! Not having to fill it up every 4 to 5 cup is awesome. The water line Did vibrate a little, But smoothed out after a couple of days. Now we enjoy a nice Hot cup of coffee. I've included a pic of the first one that was sent.
First, let me say I looked at a few colors first before settling on Stone Grey. I was originally leaning towards matte silver, but it honestly didn't look as rich and impressive as I thought it would and then polished silver looked good, but not 'distinctive'. So I ordered the Stone Grey and it looks SO good - it has a unique 'crinkle' metallic finish to it, making it look very rich but the color is also timeless. I have a good Breville burr grinder and got some good coffee and set it for a more coarse setting as recommended. The coffee came out really good, but immediately before brewing my first cup, I noticed some quirks that are worth mentioning: - you can not remove the water canister and fill it up - you have to bring the water to it - it will brew 100% of the water in the water canister (ie. you can't fill it up and brew 2 cups or 4 cups or anything; it will brew 100% of whatever water is in the canister, so fill it up carefully) - that's the biggest drawback I personally have so far - the cups are European cups (like most coffee makers) - ie. 1 cup is 4oz. So a 16 oz travel mug is "4 cups" - it is MUCH lighter than I expected (not good or bad, just unexpected) - plastics are cheap (just being honest - they are shiny and cheap) - glass carafe is crazy thin and light (worried it will break over time, but we'll see) - there are only two switches - on/off (with an auto-off) and 1/2 or full pot. That's it. No timer, no program function, etc. In other words, it does one thing and it does it well as there are really no other features to speak of, other than things behind the scenes that just work (hand built, quality materials other than the plastics, proper temperature, proper dosing, etc.) I don't regret my purchase after my terrible experience with Breville Grind 'n Brew that stopped working in less than 2-years for a similar cost.
To operate the machine well you need to have a lot of space around it because on one side it has the measurements for the water, therefore, you cannot have a wall on that side. On the other side you have the button to open the machine and put the filter and coffee, so now you need the other side open as well. The last thing is that in order to put water, you need a separate container because the coffee pot is solid color with no markings to measure water and you will not be able to know how much water to put in by using the coffee pot like you normally would with coffee pots that have the measurements marked on it. To save the day, we put the machine as close as possible to the sink to fill out the water reservoir using the faucet pull out. Also, by having free standing on both sides we can see the water measurements in one side and push the button to open the machine from the other side.
I can see this being great for camping because it's lightweight, will be easy to clean, pops up and folds back easily, and has volume markings on the inside of the cup. The mesh at the bottom is a fine layer atop a metal screen, so at first it looks like it won't be fine enough to catch all your grounds but if you look closely you can see the mesh that does the actual screening. It also has a strap so you can hang it to dry after use. The only negatives are the weird hippie colors. There's nothing wrong with the colors but idk, it's not a feature that interests me whatsoever. It also doesn't have any kind of case with it so if you're going to be packing it in your kit or back pack you'll want at a minimum to keep the plastic covering it comes with or to find some sort of baggie to secure it in. For now, I'm leaving it in the bag/box it came in, I'll likely upgrade to a ziplock baggie of some sort eventually though. I can't say how durable it is though. I'll have to use it a while to determine if this has any longevity to it. I'll update my review if there's anything that makes me think this will wear out/tear too easily to recommend for a true camping trip.
I must say I don’t usually post review, but this one deserves a recognition. I love that this is a good size since I drink a lot of coffee throughout the day and I am able to drink fresh coffee while we’re on a hiking or camping. It is a good quality and easy to use too! Highly recommended!
Great for making large batch of hot or cold brew tea. Metal strainer cleans easily and dries fast. Could have made the strainer longer, because you do have to make a full pitcher to get best results. Slim, tall pitcher, so it fits wonderfully in the door shelf.
I really like the overall quality of this coffee maker. It is nice looking and a good under cabinet size. The red is a nice deep tone and a good fit with my other red accents. It is easy to use and standard in terms of cleaning. My only criticism of this coffee maker is the previously noted complaint regards the buzzer that announces when the coffee is through brewing - way too loud. Were it not for that, I'd have rated it a five star addition.
The travel mug that comes with it is very small. I have to brew twice to fill my Yeti mug that I take to work. Regular tall mugs don't fit in the brewing space. You have to use the mug they send. It does NOT use coffee pods. You measure in ground coffee. It isn't a bad coffee machine, I was just disappointed with the things about. I am sure the product description said all this but I missed it. So hopefully the repeat here will help someone.
I should have known by getting a white-ish coffee maker, it requires work! This is just a heads up that the lid of this coffee pot will stain very quickly!! I wash it every night with soap and a scrub brush. Then I clean it twice a week with baking soda, vinega & lemon juice. As you can see after having this only 2 months, it is nearly, permanently stained. Also, the glass of the coffee pot is exceptionally finicky, in the way that you also have to wash it out with hot water and soap (not a standard, obvious quick wash), but it has to be really washed, to remove cloudy look and/or a line, EACH day! INSIDE the lid of the coffee maker, where are you would place the filter, it is also an area that collects little coffee grinds that requires cleaning. It will clean easily if you pour water all down in there, but then the water goes through the hole onto the element, is all. So to clean it with a cloth is a bit tricky because the coffee grinds collect and you can only get it with the corner of the cloth, it’s narrow. Yes, these are points that may not be important to some people, but I am only doing this review for those who may find this important. Yes, it does look pretty on the counter. I bought this one for looks and not as much functionality and low maintenance. We have always had stainless steel coffee pots and coffee makers and they are less maintenance. Just FYI :) We only bought this as a back up to our Nespresso machine (which we LOVE and yes, Nespresso has an excellent recycling program unlike Keurig. At least when we bought ours 7 years ago) that we have decided to take a break from using, for various reasons. So there you have it. :)
