It is hard to find product review pictures of an item zoomed out. It’s always zoomed in. So I figured everyone knows about what size this counter is and this shows it’s actual dimensions. Aside from that; it’s slick and pretty. I haven’t tried it yet though.
Hello coffee lovers, if you’re looking to buy this expensive French press, then you probably already did your research and know why it’s up there, so I won’t get into that. If you’re concerned about lead, I’m here to address that. Another reviewer some while back said they found lead on the exposed circle part on their Espro under the sticker. I used my $80 spray and light to test that circle part and found that it was NOT positive for lead. Mind you, I’ve used this kit to test known objects with lead like my Japanese and Turkish teacups, as well as Been There Starbucks mugs (particularly the ones with red/orange and blue paints) and those all tested positive with neon green glowing results. In short, if you receive this “Designed in USA, Made in China” version, you’re okay on NOT having lead. That said, I ordered again to check and happened to get the “Designed in Vancouver, Made in China” version which did NOT have the exposed black dot on the bottom of the Espro where the sticker was—just a flat metal bottom (see pics). It seems that when Espro, originally Vancouver based, was sold to a Wisconsin company, they cheapened out on that part. I’ve laid out the design differences below: Designed in Vancouver version - Solid metal bottom (no exposed black dot) - Coffee press top section is NOT unscrew-able, just the bottom where the mesh is. - Espro logo and “E” letter design on press top Designed in USA version (newer model) - Exposed black dot on bottom - Coffee press top unscrews, making for easier cleanup - Simple Espro logo (“E” logo removed) on press top To sum up, both versions are good on NOT having lead as far as I’m concerned and are very similar, but note the small design differences. The boxes look similar but will say where they were designed, so you’ll know which version you got when you receive it. Hope this helps and have a happy caffeinated day, everyone!
As advised for much more expensive coffee drippers, I ran several solutions of 50:50 water : vinegar thru the device to leach the plastic fumes from it. (The plastic issue is not unique to just this brand dripper.) Each time I paused the process about one minute into the “perk” by unplugging the power. I allowed solution to incubate about an hour with the top closed, and then plugged the power back in to allow the drip process to complete. I did this with the basket in place, then followed with a couple rinse perks with clean water. This was repeated two more times, allowing the device to dry thoroughly between each cycle. Result? Now free of plastic fumes. I then purchased size #1 cone filters on coffeemakers.us.com. With a few folds they nest inside the mesh basket (even though it is not recommended to use a filter). I now have good coffee with convenient cleanup from this cheap, compact, packable, single-serve dripper. No pods. No pouches. Just good coffee from beans of my choice, with compost-friendly left-overs. * Here are two other tricks I learned to squeeze a more full-bodied cup from the grounds: Use refrigerated water; it slows the perk. Otherwise, it perks in about three minutes. Also, I stop the perk about half-way through by unplugging the power (not recommended for everyone), and allow the grounds to rest for one minute. Then, return the plug to power to complete the drip. I will probably buy another one of these as a spare while they are still available.
This is a surprisingly small footprint for being a 10 cupper! It is sitting next to my regular machine for comparison. The only items probably worth noting is the water level and power button are both on the left side. For me, I would like them both on the right so I didn’t have to turn the coffee maker to see the water level or to turn it on. No need turning it off because it turns off within the hour.
This little guy made a big impression when we got it! I was overjoyed that we found an individual serve coffee/tea maker that had a small footprint and made great coffee with just the right temperature. Sadly, it only lasted about 8 months with 2-3 uses daily. That is the only reason for the 3 star rating, otherwise it would’ve been a 5.
Very stylish and easy to use coffer pot comes with built-in reusable filter . You can set multiple timers and display is easy to read but doesn't light up in dark .
Love this percolator coffeemaker! Paired with an auto timer I purchased separately...Brews delicious coffee when it's needed. We have very hard water, that eats the auto-drip coffeemakers. This model has performed flawlessly form day one! We use Kroger branded regular coffee, just follow included instructions...you'll be impressed! Love the auto keep warm after brewing.
We got the k-cafe smart model to replace the previous version. The older one (that is purchasable on this listing as well) had stopped brewing accurate amounts consistently and the frother didn’t always work well. This didn’t start happening until a few years in, though, and didn’t happen every time. It just seemed like it was starting to go out, so we upgraded. In comparison, the smart model is a little smaller, brews more accurate amounts and the coffee seems to be quite a bit stronger - to the point where I might dial back the strength on the coffee I purchase because I only drink cappuccinos and lattes and the strength on those isn’t adjustable like a regular cup of coffee would be. I like that you can adjust how much froth you want - I’ve tried levels 2 and 3 and seem to be happy with 2. 3 is REALLY thick. One down side that is different from the older model is that now you can’t brew and froth at the same time - you have to start the frother, then put your k-cup in and select shot and it doesn’t start brewing until the frothing is complete. The other one did it simultaneously. It doesn’t take too much longer and the milk is still frothy by the time it finishes brewing, so not a big deal. I like that the new water container is more easily removable for refilling and my husband likes all the additional customizable options like brew strength and temperature. The older model only has 2 options for strength and no heat adjustment other than hot vs. cold on the frother. We don’t really use the app. It has recipes and you can schedule brews, but I wouldn’t be able to schedule mine without leaving milk/syrup out in the frother and my husband likes to put his creamer in his mug before brewing for some reason - so same issue as me, which makes it kind of pointless. It’s a nice feature if you want a regular cup of coffee and/or add your creamer after, but not one we plan to use. So far, we are happy with it. I wouldn’t say it is a great deal better than the other model, but it does look nicer, has a few more features and is about 1/3 smaller.
This machine is amazing! Easy to use, easy to clean, and makes the perfect latte and iced coffee! Ready in minutes! The frother does a perfect cold foam or froth for your latte! Great value!
Bought this coffee maker a couple of years ago and figured it was cheap enough that if I got a year out of it it that would be pretty good. Well since then its made tasty hot coffee just about every single day without skipping a beat. At least until a couple of days ago when the power button just fell out in multiple pieces. However I bought the same model again because it was a good one while it lasted and I like the simple look and ease of operation. The hot plate is very hot but if I leave it on for more than 10 minutes the coffee tastes a little burnt. The lid did warp the first few times I used it I guess cause the plastic is not very thick but then one day I put a book on it while I brewed a pot and it warped back to the correct shape and since then I haven’t had any problems. I have brewed about 6 pots with my new unit and have not noticed any warping. Just hot tasty coffee.
This is my first coffee machine. I have tried it for days and really recommend it. It heats up incredibly fast, thanks to it 1350w power, making brewing quick and efficient. The size and compact design fit perfectly in my small kitchen. The stainless steel construction not only adds durability but also gives machine a sleek modern look. I love it!XD
A very simple and easy to use coffee maker. It heats the coffee well and is easy to clean. I just wish it came with a thermal cup. Then it would be complete but overall the coffee maker is very good so yes, it gets 5 stars.
Disappointed with the product. The design and flow was promising, however I used it one time and a stress fracture formed when exposed to hot water. I'm afraid to continue to use it because of risks of shards going into my coffee. Maybe there is a defect in the glazing process.
The machine works effortlessly and makes the yummiest coffee.
My eyes sparked at the moment I received this Kuerig coffee maker. It looks fancy, has those functions of changing light color and background color of control panel, has a water filter... which are pretty cool! But, after less than a week use, it broke. As shown in my photo, it asked me to clean the needle. I did needle maintenance following the instructions with that little valve comes with the machine, I disassembled the needle part and clean each of them, make sure water is between the min and max line. Still didn't work. This problem happened twice in a week use. I just wanted a cup of coffee but it wasted me 5 k-cups and 1 hour in the second broke. Sorry it doesn't work for me. Returned.
