I really like this machine. Makes a pretty decent cup of coffee, and you can choose your favourite beans. One thing to consider, the machine was revised on the inside to help with the horrific mess it makes with the dirty water. If you received one WITHOUT a red drip tray inside. Return it and try get one with the revision. You will barely get 3 cups out of it before the pathetic black one overflows inside. Then when you open it up to clean the catch trays the dirty water and grounds spill out all over the place.

  • It looks so small but holds a good amount of volume. It’s a really nice design and seems pretty sturdy, but we’ll see about that. I haven’t gotten the hang of cold brewing yet but I think this product will be perfect for it.

I will start off by saying that our family is not very well practiced with coffee. We just started drinking coffee in the last year and finally decided to move up from our tiny coffee pot that we used for guests. However, this Cuisinart coffee maker is definitely a nice step up, and we’ve been very happy with it so far. It is easy to fill up with water, and as simple as pressing a button to get it started. We noticed that it also brews the coffee stronger than our old mini coffee pot. We probably need to use half the amount of ground coffee that we used to before. The only quirks we have with it is that it leaves a lot of water residue on top of the plate area where you put the coffee in. It also leaves a lot of water steam in the top clear water reservoir, so you have to make sure to open it up to let the water dry when you’re done. Overall though, we’re very happy with the coffee pot, and being the Cuisinart brand I expect it to last us a very long time.

  • The item functions but the bamboo wood is turning black due to bacteria. I've only had the item for 2 months.

This item shipped in very sturdy packaging and the shelf box would be very presentable as a gift. The device is smaller than I thought it would be but I suppose that's standard for pour over coffee makers. This is my first pour over coffee machine and while it made a beautiful and delicious cup of coffee, I can tell this isn't something I'll use long term. That's more about me than about this machine which was very easy to set up and to use. Having a kettle sitting around filled with hot water at a constant 200 degrees is highly recommended if you plan on making more than one cup of coffee at a time. I like french press coffee makers because I tend to drink my first cup of coffee fairly quickly and then savor my second cup. The french press I use makes that amount for me so it's a one time job. This Shine pour over coffee maker makes one cup of coffee. The directions say that it makes one or two, but that would be if your coffee cup held only 5 ounces of coffee. Maybe on a Saturday or Sunday morning I have the time to make one cup of coffee at a time, but in reality I prefer a bit more volume. That's all personal preference, of course, because again, this made a delicious cup of coffee! Hence my 5 star rating. So if pour over is your thing, this Shine coffee maker will fit the bill perfectly.

I got this frappe maker as a gift from my boyfriend and I love it! Made a few frappes today and they came out great! Thanks honey! :)

  • Easy to use. Easy to clean. Makes great espresso. I was on the fence on getting it and so glad I got it! Why did I wait so long?!

I would not buy this model. The heating plate has become extremely rusted after about a year of use. Should have returned this long ago, but it does make good coffee. Do not get this glass one.

  • I'm a huge fan of Zojirushi products. I own one of their bread makers, two rice makers and two water heaters. Their products have always been better than any competition, so when our last coffee maker suddenly stopped working after less than 3 years of ownership (thanks Braun) I decided to get a Zojirushi instead. We received this on 5/12/2023 and began using it the next day and were so happy - the coffee taste was impeccable, the functions were easy to use too - which meant we woke up to glorious coffee reliably every morning. Then this morning happened (7/11/2023): We woke up to hot coffee all over our cabinets, it had leaked into our bread drawer and towel drawer and we had to throw out all of our bread and wash all of our towels, take apart the drawers, wash them out, air them out to dry in the garage because they were entirely soaked through. Bewildered, I looked for the cause: I took the carafe and looked at it, ran water through it and immediately noticed water dripping out of the carafe - I was able to identify a VERY tiny fracture in the glass carafe - which is what caused this disaster (see attached picture). I've had glass coffee pots for over 20 years - never has this happened. We don't abuse our glass carafes; we're very careful because we're scared of this type of thing happening. The worst part? Zojirushi doesn't have replacement carafes for this product, so it renders our purchase useless after less than 60 days of use - meaning we need to purchase yet ANOTHER coffee maker. I'm laying blame at the manufacturer here for this - obviously the glass isn't as durable as it should be for a consumer product designed for everyday use. They likely went cheap and used lightweight glass to keep weight & manufacturing costs down. Not impressed Zojirushi. So 140$+ for less than 60 days of use? No thanks. It's a major slap in the face to a loyal Zojirsuhi brand customer.

I used to work for a major retailer who sold GoodCook kitchen products and I can’t ever recall seeing the brand any place else. I was always a fan of how well their stuff was made and that it was always well priced. I have other things of this brand in my kitchen to this day still going strong. I’m glad to see they’ve expanded. Of the brewers on the market, this is up there with the better made. First of all, the glass is thick compared to most and the plastic outline is thick and girthy as well. It’ll definitely handle repeated use. I tested it with some older coffee the other night and here’s what I found. 1) No matter how fine they claim the filter is, you’re going to have grounds in your brew if you use regular ground coffee. Unless you buy yours coarsely ground already, you might as well go ahead and get you a coffee grinder. 2) The coffee I brewed was bitter as heck. Now obviously, this is user error and has nothing to do with the caliber of the product. This is one of those instances where you just need to know what you’re doing. I brewed for 24 hours and could possibly stand to cut my brewing time as I don’t like super strong coffee. I also used older/stale coffee (which some recommend for cold brew) and this could be poor advice. and error for you. 3) No matter your brewing time, cold brew coffee has more caffeine so be careful. Nonetheless, dilution is a fuzzy area. Diluting too little could make you sick and still leave the coffee too strong. Diluting too much could make it too weak. This could take some testing to get right. Either way, you want to get the most out of the coffee. Coffee is pricey and at a cup per liter needed to brew, so you’re looking at some expensive trial and error for sure. My overall experience with the product itself is that it brews very well if used correctly. Like I said, unless you’ve used one of these before and found that “sweet spot”, it’s going to take some figuring out. My advice is to do as much research as you can and what will work best with your preferences. Youtube vids are a good go-to. Bottomline, after you discover the right combination, you’ll end up saving tons of money on cold brew coffee. If you’re interested in that, buy it!

  • That being said, it was delivered with a gash so big in the box I don’t know how it wasn’t damaged. There was no padding on the inside either to protect it except for the top and bottom, but that’s not where it was kicked in.

  • I can see this being great for camping because it's lightweight, will be easy to clean, pops up and folds back easily, and has volume markings on the inside of the cup. The mesh at the bottom is a fine layer atop a metal screen, so at first it looks like it won't be fine enough to catch all your grounds but if you look closely you can see the mesh that does the actual screening. It also has a strap so you can hang it to dry after use. The only negatives are the weird hippie colors. There's nothing wrong with the colors but idk, it's not a feature that interests me whatsoever. It also doesn't have any kind of case with it so if you're going to be packing it in your kit or back pack you'll want at a minimum to keep the plastic covering it comes with or to find some sort of baggie to secure it in. For now, I'm leaving it in the bag/box it came in, I'll likely upgrade to a ziplock baggie of some sort eventually though. I can't say how durable it is though. I'll have to use it a while to determine if this has any longevity to it. I'll update my review if there's anything that makes me think this will wear out/tear too easily to recommend for a true camping trip.

  • I really wanted a grind to brew all in one but this one just doesn’t do it for me. The machine was incredibly easy to set up and program and the first morning I was excited to try my coffee. The excitement was over fast. The first cup was very very weak. I had only done the strong brew setting so I tried the strongest setting the next day. Still pretty weak. Ok so then day 3 I brewed 3.5 cups of coffee but used 5 spoon fulls of whole beans. Much better but now I’m having to use more coffee beans to make a decent cup of coffee? I realized the machine was grinding so aggressively that it sent the ground coffee into the top part of the lid so all of the coffee wasn’t actually getting brewed. That’s prob half a TBSP worth of waste! The other issue was the grounds were making their way into the coffee every day! I read the manual and no matter what I still got grounds in my cup every day. Sadly I had to return this and go back to my old coffee pot.

  • I like it and the press works well, everything is in great condition for me. I'm a little confused on cleaning, if I don't take the glass out there is water in between the copper and glass which sounds like a bad idea, However that glass does not want to move and I'm worried if I take it out I won't get it back in lol. I love the concept but the coffee hasn't been that good yet, might be my fault I've never done this before.
