This is smaller than our previous one (a 12 Cup from another brand), and now I understand why. Its only 7 (REAL) cups! I measured in fluid ounces this morning. False advertising. The company blamed the retailer for false marketing, but its a joint effort. In what universe does anyone consider 5 ounces a cup. Its not even a full cup of a small coffee cup!? Maybe a small diner cup?! Shame on you.
Just got this to replace a ciusinart it's a keeper. Better designed, smaller, hotter coffee and just as importantly makes delicious coffee
The packaging of this coffee maker is beautiful. It comes with a cup. I love its minimalist design and cool look. This coffee maker comes with a K-cup holder and permanent filter, giving you two options for brewing coffee. It's durable, easy to use and clean. Well made and portable. Perfect for use at home or in the office.
This coffee maker exceeded all my expectation, super fast, easy to use, the size is compact and doesn’t need much counter space, good quality materials. I recommend it!
Updated Review: I have literally never disliked a kitchen appliance more. (And that includes the ninja blender that storing the parts was pretty much an invitation to the emergency room, and the light saber, handheld blender that put pieces of paint in my smoothies.) No matter what I do this coffee pot is going to randomly screw up a pot of coffee and or the entire kitchen counter, and part of the floor in the process. It is forever getting clogged no matter how often I clean it or what procedure I follow when making a pot of coffee. It has wasted so much coffee and time. The design is unique and the carafe keeps the coffee warm but pouring from it does not achieve a laminar flow. The coffee would pour better with a small spout on the rim instead of complete circle. The amount of plastic and the ridiculous footplate are incredibly disappointing. When I put it together, I thought this can’t really be part of a $300 coffee maker, but sadly I was wrong. Additionally, if you don’t push the filter all the way down into the basket, it will overflow and make a huge mess. If this was a $100 machine, I probably still would have given it a 5-Star review because it does make good coffee but at $300 it’s, at best, a 4.
exceeded my expectations
After breaking the glass on the last 3 French Presses I have owned, I decided to do a bit more research before buying my next one. I wanted something more durable and higher quality, which is why I decided to order the Melbourne. I contemplated buying a metal French Press for a while, but they don't look as good, can get dents, and let's face it, are not as fun because you don't get to see your coffee sit there. Anyways, the product came in a nice package which tells the story of Grosche's founders and their project for providing safe water (never thought I could contribute to society by purchasing a French Press). The product itself has been great so far, the glass is thicker than any of my previous French Presses, so I don't have to worry as much washing it, and the coffee tastes just as good (wish I was a coffee connoisseur so I could tell any difference).
Really hard to use and weak glass. The glass broke when trying to remove the top portion. They would not replace the glass and said I have to purchase a new container. Pretty disappointed, wanted to liked it so much but failed
Bought this to replace the Chemex I purchased in 1978 and gave to my daughter. That one was the true classic: heavy glass, with a thick bottom, giving it stability. I was disappointed when I opened the box of this one. Wish I’d sent it back. Thin, fragile glass. No stability. On my fourth use, I lifted out the filter, It tipped over and shattered. Worse: it was on a cooking surface. Tiny bits of glass all over. I am still sweeping them up. Cannot use my countertop. I’m too afraid of getting glass particles in food. Glass should be tempered if it comes into contact with heat, and for kitchen use. This was not cheap. I am furious beyond words. Chemex, your brand is now trash.
The mold that came with this brand new coffee maker was rather off-putting, to say the least. Clearly, someone used this, "cleaned" it, packed it back up, returned it, and coffeemakers.us.com relisted it as "new". So, if there is only one coffee maker like this available when you go to purchase, know that it's been to two households already. Though we decided against trying it out before returning it, so it's only been used at one household. I'd pay the same price else at a more reputable seller, as it looks and feels like a quality coffee maker.
Well made, like a portable chemex except with a double walled vacuumed sealed cup to keep the the beverage hot for hours. Wish their were actual chemex filters that fit this unit, however you can always cut and diy with a chemex filter. 5 out of 5
Great espresso machine. Quick and easy to use. The water tank is located on the back which makes filling it up super easy. You can choose from two espresso settings and then when you’re done, the little pods drop into a container that you can empty out later. It’s small so it fits perfectly in our coffee bar next to our Keurig. This machine uses the Nespresso original pods. I love it and definitely recommend.
I found this product at Sam’s for only 79.98 a lot cheaper than what coffeemakers.us.com has it for Because coffeemakers.us.com had it for $111.00 It’s a great product makes really good coffee.
After breaking my 2nd glass French press beaker, I decided I needed something more durable. I opted for this one solely on color, but it really keeps the coffee hot for a long time so you don't have to worry about it going cold in the pot. Also the colors are gorgeous!
A pain to clean up. The torch burns yellow and not blue causing carbon flame and dark ash build up. Instructions are in Chenglish or some Language (see photo). The worse part is The seal between the 2 chambers which leaves much to be desired, such as coffee. You cannot get coffee brewed in this thing. It all drains out of the whole in the top chamber. It sure does not make coffee. May be it is a good display.
