Well thought out. Haven't figured out how to clean the carafe lid. Not hard to clean, just scoop into compost. Then wash out the filter. So far my favorite method to brew.
I was looking for a quieter coffee maker as my previous one was extremely loud & stayed loud for at least 5-8mins. At 4AM people complain about noise. This machine has soft noise that lasts 25seconds only! Everybody's happy & I can make either regular or Keurig coffee now
What an awesome looking coffee maker!!! And not only that, the Gevi customer service is so great! The coffee is amazing with all the different settings, including for iced coffee, it's sleek looking and overall very impressed! Thanks Gevi for such a great product:)
Hot and fresh blows pods out of the grinder. Easy to work and brew all at a push of a button. Single server works just as easy. Work excellent and looks modern. So far so good
The seal where the reservoir is faulty just like so many other reviewers have stated. I've only had mine two and a half months and it leaked the first time I used it because the seal was smashed when it had been boxed and shipped. Thought I had fixed it but after two months of everyday use it's now leaking every day there's any water left in the reservoir. Thankfully I have a dish mat underneath it or else my counter would be ruined from cups of water just pouring out from the bottom. It was good while it lasted. I've contacted Mr coffee about the warranty but haven't heard anything yet.
The pot leaks coffee every single we pour. First all over the floor, counter and now we have to pour our coffee over the sink and have to wipe the pot. The pot doesn’t have much of a pouring spout design to the glass and the plastic that’s goes across the area of pour catches the coffee and runs sideways then down the glass on the outside. I need to find an a coffee pot that is compatible with this coffee maker to get rid of this pot. I would not recommend this coffee maker to anyone unless they fixed this issue. Imagine pouring coffee over your nice wooded floors or expensive rug or so forth always having to clean up the floor. It’s a very big hassle and inconvenience for sure. Especially considering how expensive this coffee maker is. Even the cheapos don’t create this mess.
My daughter was attempting to make tea in this container. This was the 2nd time using it for this same thing. She uses loose leaf tea and prefers it hot on cooler days. The container was room temp and it definitely wasn't cold in her house. She boiled water and left it cool down a bit. As she was pouring the water in, the bottom of the pitcher cracked and shattered up the pitcher. Spilled hot water and glass everywhere. The product paperwork states that it can withstand up to 220°F and that the glass is strong enough as long as your not pouring hot water into a cold pitcher, which she was not doing. She was so excited about this product and loved how well it worked the first time and is very disappointed that this happened and the product didn't hold up to its description. I have sent a message to the supplier and I'm just waiting for a reply. I will update review on if the supplier makes it right or not.
I’ve only had this for two months, and it has now died. Initially, the lid, when closed with the Kcup inside, would not regularly pop open when pressing the button, meaning it had to be pried open. But I liked the way it made coffee so stuck with it. Bad decision – now, it doesn’t turn on or work at all!!
This is the nicest coffee maker I have ever owned. Not only does it brew from ground coffee but it will also grind bean and make a pot from that all in one process. The beans are stored in the top compartment and all you have to do is select ground and brew option and you have an amazing pot of coffee! I love that it has a timer you can set for it to brew at your preferred time and the brewing process is practically silent but there are 3 loud beeps at the end to let you know that the pot is ready. The warmer stays on for about 2 hours and then will automatically shut off so you don't ever have to worry if you forgot to turn the coffee maker off. It is super easy to clean daily and then weekly I run a descaler through it. The best part of it all is with the beans being store on top my kitchen constantly has that fresh coffee smell!
I was surprised that the pot is so huge. It is to accommodate a center ice container for iced coffee. The pot makes really good hot coffee but creates a tremendous amount of steam. After using for several months it isn't using the last two cups water. This pot has never had unfiltered water used in it. It is now making only four cups of coffee. We cancel and start over several times to finish the pot! Ugh! It is frustrating. I ordered Zojirushi cleaner only to realize what I ordered wasn't for plastic, it was made only for their water heating pot. Update: as with most things that use water, vinegar has to be run through the process about once a month. The coffee pot resumes making a complete pot of coffee. We have had occasional messes when the strainer basket gets grounds outside of the paper filter. At that time the coffee will spill all over the floor. The pot must be sitting correctly for coffee to go inside the pot. Well we have been using this pot for two years. I accidentally dropped the water tank. The corner cracked off and would drip as I carried it across the kitchen. Today it was leaking into the bottom. The whole bottom was cracked and leaking. Zorushi.com sells parts! This part was $22.80 but expedited shipping would have been $27!
I have tried about every type of non-electric coffee maker and percolator out there. Just brewed my first pot on the Quikpot... could not have been easier! Just attach a propane tank, click the auto start and wait for your coffee. Highly recommend.
This is a great coffee maker from a reputable brand. Its basically half the size of a regular drip coffee maker and perfect for the office or for people that don't want to brew the standard 4 cup min. The carafe is pretty good quality and it heats up quickly because its small but also more than 600w. I was able to cut standard paper filters to size and also used the built in filter. The coffee taste and quality are excellent. It has a pause and pour function that lets you get a cup while its brewing. There is just one button on it, so you don't get a clock, timer etc., and that works just fine for me. It stays hot as needed without being too hot at the base. Overall I like it a lot.
I used to have another coffee maker for years. I though thought it did what it was supposed to do and coffee was coffee. When I would go to measure out the coffee for the morning brew, I would just eyeball it and make coffee. Coffee was coffee, right? A few weeks ago the coffee maker I didn't think much about because it did its job decided to stop working. It could have been sabotaged by my girlfriend who "cleaned" it, but dead none the less. Like with any appliance or object that needs to be replaced, I over-analyzed it and started looking into different coffee makers. I wanted a good one because I drink coffee every day and to me, it's worth the investment to find something that makes great coffee and has received favorable reviews. In my research of a day or so, I discovered there was this organization called the Specialty Coffee Association. They have criteria on what it takes to make a great cup of coffee. Those criteria are then used to review coffee makers. Bonavita Connoisseur (BV1901TS) meets that criteria and it shows up in the quality of the coffee. It's a great simple coffee maker that makes great coffee. I followed the instructions and measured out my coffee of freshly ground coffee. Basically, it's 2 tbsp of coffee per cup. If you have 8 cups, you need 16 tbsp or 1 even cup of ground coffee. Also used filtered water because the coffee really is the sum of all the ingredients and you can't cut corners on water. I did hold down the button for the power to turn on Pre-Infusion. The results leave you with a really clean, flavorful cup of coffee where I immediately tasted a huge difference. There was no bitterness. Another thing I make sure of, that it wasn't heating the coffee after it was done and instead it put the contents into a thermal carafe. This makes a huge difference if you're coming back to the pot for more coffee. It keeps the coffee pretty warm for a long while and allows you to have the same quality coffee you did when you made it. I've had experiences with my other coffee maker where subsequent cups tasted horribly after being cooked on a burner. The thermal carafe was something I didn't know I needed until I tried it. So what's the purpose of the review? Are you apprehensive about buying a coffee maker at $150 bucks and not sure about that type of investment? I think you can rest assured that this is a solid purchase as it makes a cup of coffee at a high level if all your looking for is a simple coffee maker. It doesn't have all the extra bells and whistles another coffee maker could possibly have. For me, I didn't need my coffee maker on my Wi-Fi or be able to do multiple jobs to earn its place in my kitchen. I just needed it to do its job at a high level and it does that. If that is also your criteria for a coffee maker, rest assured. I will say the only downside I can think of is the amount of coffee it makes. It would have been nice if it was on the 10 cup side instead of just 8. I hope you find the cup of coffee you're looking for.
This is a tiny coffee maker but it is perfect for when you have limited space and only need to make a couple of cups at a time. It says that this is a 5-cup maker, but the pot itself will only truly hold 4 cups ( 6oz traditional measurement for a cup of coffee.) So this translates to about 2 cups of coffee in my household as we don't just drink a 6oz cup of coffee. I usually drink a 10-12 ounce cup The water reservoir can hold 30oz of water but the pot can only hold about 24oz of liquid. The coffee maker is very simple and does not have any extra features, just an on/off switch. The water reservoir has markings on the inside to indicate the water level but they are hard to make out. The one important positive is that it does make a really good cup of coffee so if you need a simple compact maker then this would be a good option.
