The main feature not having to purchase filters. Dislike have keep refilling. But it works great.
The small french press I was using for my breakfast tea began to age and rust, so I tried this small single-size french press. This did not work for me and I ended up returning two of them. The first I returned because the bottom plastic base came broken, the second I returned because ultimately it did not work for how I wanted to use it: with fine leaf breakfast tea. I tried adjusting the mesh filter to optimize it for tea, but it was either pushed too far out to the edge and the friction made it very difficult to press up and down, or it was pushed too far in and much of the tea leaves escaped to the upper part of the press (see attached video and picture). 3 stars because I realize tea may not be the intended use of this product and overall it seems like acceptable quality for the inexpensive price. I found the quality OK for the price and this may work well for the advertised use (coarse ground coffee), but ultimately it didn't work well for me and I ended up buying a small tea pot. One other thing I found inconvenient was that with the handle design having the top of the handle jutting out into the top opening, it is hard to fit my hand down inside to clean it. This may be relevant if your hand is on the larger side.
Easy to clean and very large
Absolutely perfect and very easy to use. My only hang-up is that it is not ideal for larger coffee cups. As you will see in the pictures, if you use a Rae Dunn mug as we do, you will have to pull the tray out and remove the chrome top. Once you have done this, you can tilt the mug and slide the tray back in. Do not make coffee without the tray being inserted, because the unit will discharge water every time and will go all over the countertop.
Hopefully my mom won't be able to break this one🤣 its strong and keeps the coffee warm for a while🤟
We have had many Keurig's and have always had the Pot Coffee maker that we brought out for party's. Not any more. We use the k cups during the week since the pot is never convenient with different schedules in the house. On the weekends we always make a pot now. The coffee stays hot for hours in the carafe. The taste is outstanding in both the k cup brews and the pot. Making coffee is simple. Select K Cup or Pot, select size and click the center start button. We learned the hard way that the pot coffee comes out the center and k cups towards the rear, so make sure to move your mug towards the back. We have a small kitchen, so we needed a narrow coffee maker with a large reservoir. We have the reservoir on the back but did try the other options. Very well built machine.
I travel for work about 50% of the time and struggled to get my coffee fix on the road. I'm not a morning person and adding an extra stop at Starbucks to my morning routine does not work well for me...However, relying on the coffee at my hotels also does not work well for me because it is never strong enough and I don't like to use the coffee makers in the room. But in order to have a good day, I must start out with strong, delicious coffee!!! And this little percolator does the trick! It's easy to use and only takes a few minutes to do its thing. Once unplugged it cools down fast enough so that I don't need to worry about packing it in my bag and setting things on fire. It makes the perfect amount to fill my travel mug. The reasons why I didn't give it a 5-star rating is that 1) The lid is hard to remove which makes it tricky to take off when it's hot (and I'm in a hurry) and 2) The volume markers are etched on the inside and are difficult to see. Overall this is a solid, well-made item that I am very happy with so far. It has also made it through TSA in my carry on without raising an eyebrow.
Super bummed out about this. I was so excited to receive this pour over coffee maker. Well it showed up, broken. The cup was shattered. The case it too covered in glass shards to keep. But the cone is good. Guess I can use that still with a different cup. Therefore 2 stars.
I used the product for more than a year and enjoyed it very much unfortunately the product fell from a height of only about 12 inches, and the glass broke. Thanks
Have always loved black and Decker. Great warranty, they really back their products. And they usually last and stayed good looking. But this one disappointed a bit. The clean button doesn't work. When you turn it on it shows cleaning. No problem I just cleaned the old fashioned way and don't let the cleaning led bother me. But my biggest complaint is the tiny power light to see it is on. It is so small I have to turn my kitchen light off to make sure it is off before making another pot.kitchen light off in 3rd pic and can barely see it is on
No cleaning cycle. Was on the phone with Braun for an hour only to say they may send a replacement. The 1-4 cup does not function, even with them watching on live video. Coffee very weak.
Coffee tasted great. I was excited to go with a stainless steal option to avoid any health concerns with mixing acidic liquids and aluminum (I.e. The standard moka pot). However I was disappointed to find that the weld in the bottom of the main compartment was black and dirty. I cleaned tried cleaning it out with a sponge and a paper towel, but they kept coming back with fine black soot and particles. I do not want to consume this in my coffee. Also, this part of the moka pot is really difficult to clean. It is a small crevace which is difficult to access with sponge or paper towel. Will be returning it.
We've had many a coffee maker in our 25 years of marriage. This one BY FAR brews the best cup of coffee. If you buy this coffee maker, you will be forever dissatisfied with other brews. But alas, nothing is ever easy, is it? The trade-off, is that about once a week (we brew 3 cups of coffee per day), you will be faced with an absolute mess to clean up (see photos). And yes, it's that bad every time. And please know, we thoroughly clean the machine EACH time, spotless. And a few days later, when late for work and just trying to make a quick cup of coffee, either my husband or I has to first empty and clean up the machine. Please understand, if it were just a matter of emptying and rinsing out the elimination bins, NO problem. But, it's not that simple. The drainage of coffee water and grounds dumps out, goes under your machine and on to the floor as you pull the tray out. Today, I decided to try using some coffee grounds (we usually use whole beans) that my sister brought as a souvenir from Hawaii. Sadly, they dumped right through the machine and I got the indicator light that the machine needed to be cleaned. Bye bye Hawaiian coffee. So, we're really frustrated. We invested $500 for a "nice" coffee machine, and after six months of use, we continue to have a love/loathe relationship with. I don't believe that De'Longhi should be able to sell a machine that doesn't function properly. We bought this in anticipation of using it in a new kitchen, but I'm really having second thoughts, as I don't want my brand new countertops and floors to get stained. Would love to hear from you, De'Longhi.
We are coffee drinkers. Had a Kerig coffee maker and eventually over the years wore it out. We often want a pot of coffee. This duo is perfect for it all! I bought this as a Xmas gift, and he loved it! Only problem is the glass pot doesn't pour well. Makes a mess every time. We use our old Mr. Coffee glass pot.
I will start by saying this is my 3rd Cuisinart Grind and Brew system. I was happy with the previous ones, but this one is not the same quality. The machine is so tall that it can not be kept on my kitchen counter underneath the upper cabinets because you can not open it up under there. The 2 water reservoirs are extremely difficult to pour the water into for 2 reasons...I am not a tall person (5 foot) and it is too high to see where the VERY NARROW hole is that the water needs to go into. I have to stand on a step stool and use a funnel in order to get the water into the reservoir without it wetting the bean grinder. In addition there is no way to control the strength of the coffee to make a full pot while using the grinder because I can fully fill the grinder with the beans and pour in 12 cups water for a full pot, and it comes out weak. The other side of the pot is for prefilled (Keurig type) pods and it is also very difficult to get the water into that reservoir and there is absolutely no way to control the coffee strength. Luckily for me, coffeemakers.us.com is taking this as a return with a full refund. I was very disappointed in this one. See photo for height of this machine.
