Oh. mygosh. This is a major roadtrip game changer!! I used hot water for my test drive, so it didn't take long since it didn't have to heat the water. I didn't time it, but I'd say maybe 1 minute or so? I used one of my Nespresso pods, which would be SO convenient to take on trips!! The espresso was hot and delicious. I frothed my milk while it was making the espresso and made myself a quick hot latte. Gosh, was it good! I don't think there's any reason, if you don't have a Nespresso machine, why you couldn't put this at your coffee station. ONly slightly less convenient and a MUCH smaller footprint! The only thing that might not be all that intuitive is when you're putting the machine back together once you get your pod in there to start brewing. You have to use a little firm hand to screw the end on. It doesn't just quickly screw closed. And when you do use that little bit of pressure, the inside punctures the pod so the coffee can brew. I had no problem piercing the bottom of the pod when I pushed it firmly into the little compartment. Now all I need is a travel milk frother! Alexa, find a travel milk frother... :) :) :)
Are you like me and feel like a zombie as you somehow navigate to the coffee maker each morning? Well then, this very well made and technologically advanced coffee maker is for you. I was surprised at the many features it has and the quality of the overall unit. I wasn't sure the color white would blend well with my kitchen, but after setting it up, I see it fits in perfectly. In fact, it looks even nicer than my old black coffee maker. (see pics) I also realized that the white color has one hidden advantage over my old black one. After making coffee on the first day, I saw that the white color shows the coffee marks quite vividly which forced me to clean it. (My friends call me a clean freak.) I never noticed these marks on my old one, so I imagine cleaning it with each use - or more often if necessary - will help it last a lot longer. Braun has lived up to their standards with their higher than usual quality of products, and this has lived up to my higher than usual expectations...maybe even more so. You can make and/or program your coffee light, regular or bold. So, if you want good coffee in the morning all ready and waiting for you to transform that zombie into human form, buy this beauty. You won't be disappointed.
Pros: it works well. It’s easy to use. It’s cheap. Filters and baskets that work with it are not hard to shop. Cons: It’s loud. The lid opens high. The recommended gold filter basket doesn’t fit flush so you often get a small amount of grounds inside your beverage. If it had an automatic timer it would be great. You need to turn it off and pull the plug otherwise it will continue to gurgle loudly as the warming tray keeps your carafe warm. Also for something that gives “14 cups”, the carafe is small. You get a 3 and a half regular sized mugs of coffee out of it (8 to 12 ounce per mug). Good for two people or one coffee addict.
My boyfriend and I both used to be baristas. We love coffee! We decided to purchase this espresso machine for home and it hasn’t disappointed. The espresso extracts perfectly…with plenty of crema. For lattes, we are able to steam perfect, paint like milk with the steam wand. My home-made lattes have been so yummy. I chose this espresso machine, and I will admit I was skeptical at first, but I’m very happy that we went through with it. We are both more than satisfied with the results!
I received this paying $21.99 from coffeemakers.us.com in September 4, 2023. It broke 2 days ago after regularly hand washing the whole unit. coffeemakers.us.com wanted me to call the seller and gave me a number. Today I left a second message. Still no answers. Very disappointed after paying that money for a filter.
The espresso pods portion is great, but the hot plate seemed scratched after the first use of the pot. Very upset because the hotplates are the first to go sometimes and this is what happens on day one?!?
Arrived in damaged box. Appliance works well. Makes good coffee Major design flaw- Cannot pour all of the water from carafe- must be twisted and tilted at odd angle to empty completely and it is impossible to do under a normal upper cabinet.
I'm normally a cold brew person but every once in a while I get a hankering for hot fresh coffee but being single why brew a whole pot? This gadget is worth the small bit of counter space it takes up; measuring about 9"D x 4"W x 12"H. It's easy to set up - give cups a wash & wipe down your machine to remove any factory funkiness. There is even a small recipe book with things to try. There is a window on the water tank to see exactly how much is in there (6oz-16oz). It has a drip tray in case of overflow. The drip tray can also be removed to allow a taller cup under the spigot. After about 300 uses the machine will flash the descale button to let you know it needs cleaned. Unfortunately the descaling solution is not included. I would have expected at least a small bottle to be included for this price point. I love that I can use it to make tea, fresh grounds or pods, normal brew or "bold". There is an accessory for each type which makes it super versatile. There is even a button to brew over ice, It isn't a cold brew per se but just add a few extra cubes when it's done and there ya go. Overall I have been impressed and enjoyed using this machine. If you have a small place, are single or just want the occasional cuppa, this machine is the one for you ~ enjoy!
Handle broke in few weeks of use. Worked fine while it was in place.
I’m thoroughly enjoying my new Bellemain French Coffee Press. The stainless steel is beautiful and shiny. Instructions were simple to understand and I’ve enjoyed several cups of coffee already.
Si pones un cafe superior tendras un expreso inolvidable, buen resultado en aroma y frescura de un cafe recien colado.
This is a good little coffee maker. It works well and seems to be well made. It makes coffee to suit my taste. The carafe needs a redesign however. As others have stated it is nearly impossible to pour a cup of coffee without dribbling it when the pot is full. Holding the lid open doesn’t help either. I cut the two ears off from the lid as you can see in the pic and it helps with the dribbling. I finally just removed the lid completely. I make my coffee without a lid then set a container lid over the carafe to prevent water loss while my coffee keeps hot. By the way, use a different container for pouring water in the tank. Much easier than trying to use the carafe. I use this OXO measuring cup. I forgot to mention I removed the button shutoff valve from the basket. I only use the Malitta number 2 filters. I will add I have a Zojuirushi EC DAC 50 and it is a much better choice.
Excelente cafetera. Funciona a la perfeccion. Lo unico que recomendaria es que traiga un filtro reusable.
I have been very satisfied with this espresso machine. The design is sleek and modern, and the overall build quality feels solid and reliable. The temperature has been excellent, I always preheat the machine by running hot water through it without a capsule beforehand, and that ensures a hotter brew. I didn't notice any plastic taste in the water as some reviews mentioned, and found the coffee flavor really good. The noise and vibration levels are present but completely acceptable. The machine works well with a big mug, but a glass is always a better choice for expresso. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone seeking a high-quality home espresso machine.
