The top does NOT close.. For the price the product doesn't fit the bill. I would exchange for a new one but the box is gone and I’m past the return date allowed.

  • I had this coffee maker previously in black. It lasted about 18 months and quit working. I ordered this one last week to replace it and when there was a color choice of red I picked that since my other small appliances are red but as you can clearly see it’s not red. It’s not maroon or burgundy. It is PURPLE. If I would have known it was going to be purple I would have chosen the black one like I previously had. As far as the product itself I do love it. I like that it comes with a coffee scoop and the filter is washable. It includes a clear cold coffee cup for use with a straw. The cup is marked with a water fill line for measuring how much water to use in the maker and also an ice line for filling the cup. The markings are a little hard to read and I wish the cup was not clear as after a year of use it became quite stained. I would recommend this product but heads up on the color choices.

  • This compact coffee maker is perfect for small spaces, and its features are impressive. It is practical and very well priced. Just the right size for one or two persons and the fact that it's dishwasher safe. Makes great coffee in a very short time. It has a filter basket and reusable filter, so we won't to worry about running out of the filter and has water level indicator, making it easy to see the water level in the pot. It was so impressive this little thing. Worth of money.

  • Pretty solid coffee maker. Self explanatory to use and makes an okay cup of coffee. It's not the hottest so I have to put it in the microwave after I put creamer etc. And big warning if you're making multiple back to back cups, put the water first before refilling the coffee grains as it will pop momentarily and splash grains all over. Learned the hard way. Also the on and off button gets stuck sometimes and that's weird. But it's okay.

This coffee maker leaked water all over the counter from day 1. We assumed we were doing something wrong and kept trying but upon closer inspection we noticed a crack on the base so we quit trying with this one and bought a different brand. 😟 Julie

This is probably the fourth Keurig I've owned over the years. I went into it knowing that I had half a dozen third-party cups that wouldn't work with Keurig's copy protection, but I expected the darned thing to work otherwise. The display will come up with lines across the display, blank, a jumble of images or inverted. Power cycling the unit will sometimes clear the problem, but not all the time. If you get a blank screen, then randomly touching it MIGHT start the heating process or it might not. I don't want to go through the hassle of boxing up, but the day may come when it stops working altogether. My short advice would be to avoid this model.

Threw it out after tolerating it for 3 months. -Cannot fill without spilling water -Frustrating to program -Brews very weak coffee. if more grinds are added, then it overflows. -If water is left in the reservoir, then it leaks onto the counter.

This is my first purchase/use of a french press. Despite the mixed reviews, ease of use is 5 stars. I boiled water and let it sit to cool to the proper temperature, added 8 tbsp. of coarse ground coffee and poured in 32 ounces of water with no trouble at all. Stirred the coffee, put the plunger into the carafe down to the level of the coffee/water mixture and then poured in another 4-6 oz of water taking this to the maximum level that could be safely added. So at that point, it's working with about 38oz of coffee. Not the 42oz max as stated, but if you used this for just liquid, you can probably fit the 42oz, but you can't press out 42oz of coffee. Let the coffee steep for 4-5 minutes (closer to 5 minutes for my taste) and slowly press the plunger down. As many reviewers have stated, the plunger is harder to press towards the top of the carafe, and make sure to press VERY SLOWLY to avoid coffee shooting out of the spout. I haven't had that happen but I can see it would be easy if you just shoved the plunger down quickly. Quality of brew is amazing. Full flavored coffee without unusual bitterness, and the first cup I brewed had a beautiful caramel colored 'crema' similar to a freshly brewed espresso. Exceptional taste and smoothness although I admit that the coffee was a bit lighter, more watery looking, than I expected. It could be the coffee I used (8 O'Clock 100% Columbian) or the grind (I don't have a grinder so I used Wal-Mart's in-store grinder set to the maximum coarseness of "PERC"). I look to buy a burr grinder and grind beans myself, giving more control over the consistency of the coarse grind, the store grinder was 50/50 with some coarse parts and some fine parts but even so, not many grinds in the brewed coffee. One reviewer posted a picture of the steel mesh plunger and I can tell you they must have upgraded the plunger since that person's purchase. I will post a pic of the plunger mine came with, it is a 3 part plunger that is 100% stainless steel parts and cleans EASILY under hot running water. Bottom line, I'm impressed and very satisfied with my purchase. I couldn't imagine that a french press with a plastic/steel/silicone filter system would result in better tasting coffee or a longer lasting filter, this one is sturdy and easy to use, works as intended and keeps the grinds out of the coffee very well. 5 stars, buy one.

  • The unit is completely made of thin glass. It is beautiful but I never got to enjoy it as it was just placed in the box with one sheet of flat bubble wrap. Nothing else was protecting it and the box did not indicate that the item is fragile anywhere on it so imagine how many times it got tossed around. I was really looking forward to this item as it is very pretty.

  • This makes great tasting cold brew coffee. I brewed regular strength and it was plenty strong enough for me. Machine is a little noisy. Took about 10 minutes from start to finish for about 1/2 carafe of coffee. I used 3/4 cup of grounds. Clean up was really easy. Im looking forward to trying some of the recipes that came with it.

  • Ok so here’s the low down on this coffee maker. Comes with a plastic tumbler that’s also doubles as your measuring guide for water and ice. The coffee does come out hot BUT it’s a slow drip over the ice making it cold. Since it comes out hot, the ice is pretty much melted at the end but there’s still room to add more if you want. I used a dark espresso roast (black silk by Folgers) and it tasted great! Didn’t taste watered down at all. Easy to use. Only took a couple mins to brew. I personally think it tastes better than if you were to just make a pot of coffee and let it cool off then pour it over ice. This tastes stronger in my opinion. Overall I like it. Is it maybe a little over kill? Probably…but you can’t go wrong with a good iced coffee!

Bought press last month, used twice and only hand washed but noticed water inside the insulated glass. How did this happen. Really want to return it. Does any other press has this hole?

  • When I ordered this carafe I didn't realize it came with the pour over filter. That's great value! Out of the box, the presentation is very good. I can tell this company cares about user experience. The ink gives it a sleek, elegant look. Overall, I'm very happy with this product. Details: PROS: - Great value - Elegant - The pour over works great! I use without a filter, trying to be more eco-friendly. - Both filter and carafe are easy to clean CONS: - Markings on real product don't entirely look like the product photo. I don't mind at all that this is made in China at all. I think China can make great products. However, I don't love the "Made in China" letters right by the 400 mark. The product photo only displays a 500 mark (see included photos and video). - Brand name seems misleading. It hasn't broken yet, but it does NOT seem/feel unbreakable - I know they were going for a minimalist look, but in practice, it isn't so easy to know how much water you've poured in, unless you've measured before pouring... - The only way this would fit 8 cups of coffee, is if you include the portion at the top (upper half of the neck). However, that's not how pour over works... you'd have to fill this to the brim, and you'd probably have to fill the filter to the brim too. And you'd need to hold it above the water... It's more like a realistic 4-5 cup. Then, I haven't measured exactly. Since it has no top markings, you have to eye it. I will measure and report back. Overall, I'm very happy with this carafe and pour over. It makes pour over easier when I have guests, as I only had the 1-2 cup version. I would not hesitate to buy from this brand again!

  • Is perfect! The morning coffee is on time while waking up!

The directions are completely incomprehensible. They make absolutely no sense and I am afraid I will burn down my house. For example. Step 5 says: Coffee filters, the meeting automation after the cooling, the seat of honor, a use of the person and lower seat of glass, splits the returning to seat kettle middle down along Guan Zhong stream, still light swing seat of honor. What does this mean?
