I have never had my own coffee pot that I officially purchased. I've always used whoever's, or accepted a hand-me-down, when someone else upgrades...so this was a treat for me! I tell you what... it is PERFECT! Compact, easy to set the clock and brew later time (I didn't even need directions), and being able to wake up to freshly brewed coffee! That was a luxury I never knew I needed. 🤣 10/10 recommend.
Used this carafe to make pour over coffee only 4 or 5 times before it broke. I must have been sleepy one morning and after pouring my coffee went to rinse the carafe in the sink. I slightly hit the bottom edge of the carafe against my counter in front of the sink and popped a hole in it. I since ordered another less expensive one, since I figured this might happen again. This carafe is definitely more favorable though, with the metal strainer and the wood collar, which I can easily get my hand around. The replacement has a larger collar made of cork and isn't as easy to hold and comes with a cheap plastic strainer. Lesson learned. Be careful with this one!
Love this travel coffee press!
UPDATE. One month later. This morning, while using the ground coffee adapter, it blew up at the end of the brewing cycle. It threw coffee grounds six feet away on my kitchen floor the pressure was so great. I went to make a second cup and found that the latches that keep the lid closed had completely broken off from the explosion. 100% dead machine after 4 months. I’m very disappointed especially after reading others posts that they can not reach live customer service. I had a Flex Brew(full pot or single mug) for 6 years before it finally gave up. I decided to replace it with this machine and it worked perfect for three months when it suddenly started exploding my k-cups.. The pressure from the machine at the very end of the brewing cycle just explodes the pods. When using the adapter for regular ground coffee it has no problems. I am troubleshooting it just to make sure I don’t have a bad batch of pods.. When they blow up it makes a huge mess. This is very disappointing because it’s too late to return it. It is a nice coffeemaker, makes fast coffee and the refillable tank is a huge plus. Nice size, not too big for my counter. But it just lost 50% of the reason I bought it- to use k-cups. FYI. I was using Maude’s pods. Maude’s has wonderful customer service. I contacted them thinking a had a bad batch of pods and they replaced them free. No questions asked. I now know it was the coffemaker.
For those who want to know, it works with any dripper. Just add your own carafe and dripper. The carafe that comes with it fits the Orea v3 nicely
Love this machine. The milk frother is amazing. The best capacinno, Latta, espresso I've ever had. Easy to use, and understand. Temperature is right on.
This says it's a 4 cup press but in reality it is only one cup. I provided a pic of it next to a standard coffee cup. Not sure why it says 4 cup. Even says it on the box. That's not the truth at all!!
I can’t say it’s the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life, but it is the best coffee I’ve made from a drip machine / pod espresso. It’s easy to use, and I feel like it’s better than your average machine. The price wasn’t much more than what a decent drip machine runs these days either. Does it replace my moka pot? Lord never. BUT it has stopped me from going to Dunkin every morning, and for that my husband is thrilled.
It's a simple great coffee pot for the price. I use it early morning just push the button and it's ready by the time I'm done getting around for work.
I don't usually write reviews, but in this case I was sadly unhappy with the quality of the product I received. The whole coffee maker was wet when I took it out of the package and it has resulted in rust stains.
Great pour over coffee set! Super easy to use without a paper filter and it cleans easily once grounds are removed/dumped out. The “brewing” process only takes a couple of minutes and was more efficient than expected! Pour spout seems to be no drip and has a nice pour to it. Cleanup is simple with the glass pot, as I am able to fit my whole hand for washing. Would for sure recommend this product!
Received a unit from a Good Friday deal and had some problems using it with Nespresso capsule where it wouldn't pierce the capsule. Reached out to Outin and their customer service was great and they replaced my unit. The new unit has worked well so far. The overall quality of the unit very good, I like that it can do both capsule and ground coffee, and the quality of the espresso that comes out is pretty close to my home Nespresso machine. Also, it's great to have the accessories to do both capsule and ground coffee, but carrying those accessories around is a pain. I've found that I can stick half of them in the cup and the other half in the water area and almost close the top. It isn't fully seated, but it's close enough to pack it all up. The big draw back, and why I only gave it 4 stars, is because you can't use the machine while it is plugged into a power source, like a battery or outlet. If you're heating the water, which is the case for me, it can only be use twice before it needs to be charged. Charging it takes hours, which means two cups in the morning max if you don't have an external hot water source. You should be able to use it with external power.
My wife and I got to try a cup of espresso in a Nespresso shop in Japan last year and ever since we toyed with the idea of getting a machine for ourselves. I picked this one up in December for about $175 and so far it has been great and a real treat for all of the guests we had over the holidays. I chose this model because my wife and I don’t use cream much so I didn’t want to spend extra on the milk frother and the counter space is limited so I wanted something that could sit next to the Keurig. I wanted to make sure I got one of good quality and features so I researched the different options and reviews and finally landed on the Citiz. Setting it up was as easy as plugging it in as it comes fully assembled. You turn it on by pressing one of the cup size brew buttons on the top and if you load a pod and press one of the sizes making sure to leave a cup below, the machine will automatically start when it is ready. I find the water heats up faster than what seems possible. It is a small amount of water it needs to heat but the description also says it takes about 25 seconds to heat. The pods load into the top easily and are ejected into a catch system held within the machine and just behind the small cup hold tray. The receptacle for the used pods holds roughly 10 pods and has a smaller area underneath for the excess liquids to drain from the spent pods. Initially I didn’t understand why we could not just eject the pods and throw them away like the Keurig which I would have preferred but understanding the heat and the aluminum pods I realized this was to protect people from burning themselves. The receptacle is easy to remove but one should still be cautious of the liquid in the bottom portion tray. The water storage on the back holds 34 ounces. It is easy enough to refill on the machine itself by just removing the lid or simply pulling off the whole container and taking it to your water source. The container removes easily by pulling lightly back on it and I have had no issues with leaks or spills. The machine makes two sizes of drink and certain pods are actually made for certain size drinks and some can be used with any size. There are far too many flavors of pods to cover here but they are fairly sturdy aluminum pods and I was fine with the pricing of around 50 pods for $40. I know they have other compatible pods for much less but this review will be based on the official Nespresso pods only. Finally, the Espresso is great. It is rich and flavorful with a frothy top. There are a large variety of flavors to choose from and all the ones I have tried have been very delicious. Getting this before the holiday’s means it saw a lot of use in the 3 weeks we have been using it. It has been great for get togethers as everyone really enjoys a nice espresso of their choice with a little dessert The few gripes I have are minor and did not justify a reduction in stars. The pods are a bit pricy(Official Pods, 50 for $40 comes to about 80 cents a cup before tax) but mainly when compared to what you can buy Keurig K-Cups for right now. However, this was meant to supplement our usage of the Keurig not replace it and so it does exactly what we need it to. Also, there is a little bit of random dripping. If you leave the cup under the spout long enough then you probably won’t experience much of this issue and clean up is easy. Overall I really like the Nespresso Citiz and it has made a great gift and a lot of great cups of espresso. I see that it is not listed for around $215 when I paid about $175 over the holidays. If you can wait, then I would expect it to go on sale again but if you don’t want to wait I can still recommend it for the $215. Very satisfied with this machine and easy for me to recommend for anyone looking for an affordable and approachable espresso machine.
This exploded while heating the first time I tried to use it leaving glass and hot water all over my stove and kitchen floor. BUY SOMETHING ELSE.
I previously purchased the 'pippamoka' which is the pressure extrusion system. Well, when I saw this new Cuppamoka I was very excited to try it out! The thermal cup that these come with is my favorite thing and I use it almost all the time. I was able to use a standard 12 cup filter with this by 'folding it' similar to the instruction manual and so I was happy that that was an option since it only comes with a few filters. Taste wise, this is my new favorite way to make coffee. I found that instead of making 5-10 cups of coffee throughout the day, I was able just stick to one cup because the taste is so good. The document doesn't include what the little 'plate' is used for that comes with it, but it's for placing the funnel on top of after you remove it. I would not hesitate to use this for coffee daily!
