I was not compensated for this review. I love coffee but I had never had it from a French press, and have been wanting to try it for a while. I was not sure on which one to get. After researching, I found Bodum Chambord was consistently ranked in the top 5. I wasn’t sure I wanted to spend $40 on something I might not like. I was at my local coffee shop and they had the Brazil for sale. I figured it must be decent if it’s a Bodum and my local shop is selling it. I bought it on coffeemakers.us.com for under $20 and am loving every cup. It’s super easy to use and clean. I have not had any issues with grounds in my coffee as I use a coarse grind and go very slow when I press. I absolutely love how the coffee tastes and don’t think I can ever go back to drip coffee. Full disclosure I have only had this about a week and have only cleaned by hand. If it shatters in a week I will update the review.

  • The Good: >Skinny space saving design - about 5" wide. 12inches high, but note you need room to open the lids for the pod and water. Would have been great if the water trough was removable by sliding, but alas. >Simple: plug it in, put the desired water amount (up to 14oz if you drink the weakest coffee in the world, LOL), push the button for a regular pod or the ground coffee pod >Non-slip feet really stick to our silestone counter like suction cups - nice disaster prevention feature. The Bad: > It's obviously cheaply made, so the longevity should be questioned. (common for this price-point however) > Taste. My wife and I did a blind taste test against a not-to-be-named famous competitor (hint: begins with a "K"). We used Starbucks House Decaf pods with about 8oz of water. In all fairness, the machine we tested against is more expensive than this one. Here's what we found: It brews a bit slower than the K competitor machine (and I suspect due to less pressure), resulting in a more bitter taste, likely due to under-extraction. In the last photo, you can see a bit of foam (or crema) on the competitor's cup, indicating the higher pressure brewing process (I think anyway). Summary: Despite the space-saving design and simplicity (great), I had a hard time between 3 and 4 stars on this one. The taste is important to me, and I feel like there may be better options for $45. It seems like a slight upgrade to the cheap coffee makes you find in hotels. It may be fine for your Air BnB, but I'm not sure I'd make it my main coffee option.

Was able to get in sale. We drink coffee or tea through the day. I love it. Easy to use and definitely cute design.

  • Well made, simple design, French Press - mostly plastic construction. I originally felt like a plastic carafe gave a low quality feel to the product but I now prefer a nice durable plastic carafe over a more fragile glass one. This makes it less worrisome when cleaning and handling. The plastic seems to be pretty durable and I expect it to last. After countless of hand washes there doesn't seem to be any hazing of the plastic and filter and seal on the press is holding up well. Overall happy with this purchase for a good durable and budget friendly French Press.

  • Great Cold Brew Coffee maker, have made several brews since I've received it. It is wonderful.

  • Why make a coffee brewer that can brew 14oz of coffee but won't fit a 14 oz cup? I work 4 days a week and take my coffee to go on in the am. I purchased the shortest travel mug at 5 inches height and it will not fit under the machine. Even short standard "wide" open mugs that can hold 12-14 oz teeter precarious on the base plate because of how narrow the back curve is. Poor design. For standard 8-10oz mugs it works fine. Brews fast, tastes okay, love the flex option of grounds or pods. It does drip a little, and only came with a dinky rubber circle pad to catch drips that sits on the base and makes the clearance even less. I bought this for the sole purpose to make to-go cups in the morning. My days home I areopress and don't use the brewer. In the past I used the CHULUX kpod brewer and they fit to-go reusable cups, and travel mugs, but only work for about 2 years and then give out. They also don't have the flex brew option. They are inexpensive and may be what I go back to. I really wanted to love this flex brewer but it needs better design, more cup clearance, and better drip plate.

WARNING TO ALL . 2nd one we’ve owned. Red light comes on and the wild goose chase begins. Newest one took 2 months. They’re junk. Buy another.

  • There's not much to the design that's all that fancy. It's just made right. Standard infusion-style cold brew pitcher. There's a lot I like about it though. I like that the fine mesh stainless steel filter goes almost all the way into the pitcher so if you only want to brew a little, you can. Non slip base is great. Easy and comfortable to use and pour. Can even make things like tea or things like water infusions in it with say, cucumber or lemons for a refreshing drink. Recommended

    Missing the kcup piece

  • Bought my first one January 2019 and it was by far the best French Press ever. It finally lost its superior insulating properties after 5 years of hard use (would keep coffee hot for hours). Just bought a replacement this January 2024 and it did not insulate nearly as good as the first so I returned it thinking it was faulty and bought a third unit January 2024. Unfortunately this third one also does not insulate nearly as good as the first so the manufacturing appears to have changed. I'm going to keep it as it is still the best at making coffee, only now I have to transfer the coffee to an insulated thermos to keep it hot - thus the 4 stars.

I am so disappointed in both coffeemakers.us.com and Breville. I received this coffee maker about an hour ago and unboxed it to set it up .... THE POT WAS USED and reshipped. The grind filter was dirty and the carafe cover would not open. I started a return to coffeemakers.us.com, but will call Breville in the morning. I have always used Breville, but this is ridiculous. I'm uploading picture so if Breville or coffeemakers.us.com look at this review they will see what I received. There is no way the grind filter would look that way if the pot was brand new. Update: Kudos to Breville for replacing the used coffee pot. The person I spoke with was respectful and positive. I received the replacement in three days!! Maybe it's time to support the vendors vs coffeemakers.us.com.

This is a follow up to my initial review. For the price, this should be a WAY better functioning coffee maker. Pros- -it looks pretty. -there are separate filters for making coffee and tea so the flavors don’t get mixed. -the smaller capacity function is a great function. I’ve been making half carafes for a few days now. The measuring spoon really helps. -the buttons and knobs are easy to understand. I was making coffee in less than 15 minutes of setup. -the water indicator will let you know if you run out of water before completing the brewing process. This happened to me today. -you can choose between “rich” or lighter coffee. I have only tried the rich coffee. That means that there will be very fine grounds in the bottom of the mug- kind of a not so thick version of Turkish coffee. But it’s not the grounds that one might spit out. They are very powdered. I’m pretty sure the lighter brew doesn’t have the fine grounds at the bottom. -the measuring spoon has a side hanging hook. While it doesn’t snap into place, it hangs fine and hasn’t fallen from its holder. -the spoon has coffee measurements on the cupped side and tea measurements on the reverse side. Just one spoon. I thought there were 2. Less clutter. Nice. -there are some easy specialty coffee and tea recipes in the instruction manual. I haven’t tried them, but after reading, they should be easy to make. Cons: -there is NO PROGRAMABLE FUNCTION. If you want coffee ready as you wake up, this isn’t the machine. - NO AUTO-STOP BREWING FUNCTION if the carafe is removed to fill your cup. My old Cuisinart will stop dripping for a quick pour. -FROTHER FUNCTION IS MINIMAL. If you want hot frothed milk, instructions say to microwave milk first then use the frother. And don’t microwave it in a metal pitcher, lol -CLEANUP IS NOT SIMPLE. Instructions say it is top rack dishwasher safe- too talk for the top rack. I have to use a rubber spatula with a paper towel to clean the inside. - the water reservoir tank could be bigger. I make 1/2 carafes each time. From my experience, a full tank will not make a couple of 1/2 carafes. Coming soon: Assessment on the: -tea making aspect -Specialty drink stand
