Great desk coffee maker. Dont wanna share your coffee or only like a certain kind? I HIGHLY recommend it. Hot Starbucks coffee all to yourself I'll take it. No need for disposable filters as a reusable one is already provided. Easy to clean and super cute size. If you haven't bought it by now you're missing out
***IMPORTANT UPDATE*** I didn't realize it at the time but I was accidentally shipped a Cuisinart DGB-800, not the Cuisinart DGB-850. I was supposed to receive the DGB-850 for review. So, the below review is actually for the DGB-800 as you can see from the photos. I don't know if the DGB-850 addresses any of the issues I shared below but I needed to clarify that I did not use and review the DGB-850. My original review follows. ------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a nice coffee maker but it has a major fault. First, I'll share the good. The machine will grind and brew a measured amount of whole beans or pre-ground coffee. It's easy to operate and keep clean. It's programmable and can brew at a pre-set time. It also looks good. The brewer can use either the included permanent filter or disposable paper filters. Now for the bad. The carafe is a good size but the lid isn't attached. I have to remember to hold the lid on with my thumb while pouring or risk having it fall off. The increases the risk of possibly spilling hot coffee while pouring. The carafe lid is notable but not what I consider a major issue. My biggest problem with this machine is that brewed coffee simply isn't nearly hot enough. If, like me, you like piping hot coffee that's always a risk for mild tongue burn fresh out the pot, this isn't the machine to own. I noticed the coffee seemed a bit cool after adding cream and other additives, so I tried it black immediately after brewing. After the machine beeped to indicate brewing was finished, I immediately poured a cup and took a sip. It was hot but not piping hot. I was able to take several healthy sips without any risk at all of burning my tongue. That's a fine temperature after everything is already added but not right out the pot immediately after brewing. Adding refrigerated cream makes the coffee lukewarm at best. So, we packed this away and reverted back to using our existing coffee maker. I really wanted to like this machine but lukewarm coffee just isn't my thing. I played around with every setting and tried both the included filter and paper filters. I tried both whole bean and pre-ground to see if it made a difference. I even tried using warm water instead of cold. Nothing gets coffee hot enough for me in this brewer. It's a shame because this is otherwise a very nice coffee maker.
This is a great solution for me with one caveat- the cup sizes. The smaller 8 ounce choice does not come close to filling my smallest coffee mug, while the 14 ounce choice fills my largest cups to the brim. I like to buy my own beans and I have a grinder that I like, so this is a great way to make a single cup with freshly ground beans- much quicker and easier to clean up than a french press or drip coffee, and faster. I do not use the included strainer to scoop the coffee, but instead grind one cup worth of beans at a time and pour them into the strainer. So no problem with a second cup when the strainer is wet. I really like this, but would love it if there were more realistic cup sizes or more choices in cup sizes.
Easy to use and clean. I just fill the center about 3/4 full of grounds and slowly pour filtered water over it. The grounds are mostly sealed by the lid but the spout can't be sealed.
I’m used to a drip coffee maker but I’ve been spending so much time at work where they have a keurig that I got spoiled and wanted an easier way to make coffee at home. Found this guy and it’s perfect! Works just like a keurig but only makes one cup at a time which means it takes up less counter space which I love. It takes a bit longer than a keurig to brew but I don’t mind and I love the colors! Definitely recommend!
Iv had one similar before but it got broken... darn husbands... anyway so i got a new one and decided to spend a little more cus iv seen i actually use it, and got to say, i love it. The glass i think its a little thicker and feels more sturdy, the leather is nice. That filter though! Its a mesh inner filter and a bigger spiral outer filter, and works very nicely. Overal its beautiful, works well, and feels nice. Thanks!!!
I love my Turkish coffee maker! I'm from Turkey and even my mom uses the same coffee maker back home and she would admit that this makes better quality coffee than anyone she knows including herself :) I would say the same thing! Having low voltage for US is a huge plus!!! Just make sure to wash your cup only with water after each use and I would recommend to hand wash with soap after every 5-10 uses. Never failed on quality! Did I also mention that it also comes with a 8.8oz Turkish Coffee?
Great for making infused cocktails. Only complaint is if I have it drip too slow it will start leaking around the knob to the valve. Not too much of a big deal but something to look out for. I have NOT used for coffee.
Rumble Jar is amazing. I use this at home and it's awesome for on-the-go, or taking it on camping trips in the cooler. Not to mention it is super sleek looking so it is very much welcome hanging around in my kitchen. Super easy, so there's no reason to buy expensive cold brew out at the store. Love it!!!
You can only use prepackaged pods - no fresh coffee in any other type of pod. I have three types - none work. The lid won’t close. On the up side - looks nice, fits in small space - easy to use - if you have prepackaged pods. Sigh!
This Ninja Coffee Bar dual brew unit replaced an older Ninja Coffee bar I had for about 4-5 years. The older unit was always problematic. The amount of water it used for a cup or pot always varied, and the orange time to clean light eventually always stayed on and never off. Since we had soft water in our home the problem of calcium buildup was really not a problem, but the light came on nevertheless. This new dual brew system works, so far, perfectly. It seems that Ninja has worked out the glitches. There is no more after drip when the coffee brews. The amount of water used is perfect each time I brew. (I don't use the coffee basket much, mostly the K-cup insert with reusable stainless steel K-cups with a paper filter.) We have had the unit about 4 months now and it is working perfectly. While I don't particularly like coffee brewed with soft water, purchasing bottled water gets too pricey. Still, the coffee is generally flavorful and the cleaning light hasn't yet come on once (I assume because the unit doesn't have a build-up). If you are looking for a coffee maker that can brew both K-cups (6 to 11 oz cup), and with the K-cup unit removed (using the basket) travel mugs, and from 1/2 to a full carafe of coffee (comes with a glass carafe), you have a brewing unit that pretty-much does it all. Highly recommend. Oh, and fits under our kitchen cabinet and I can raise the K-cup lid without moving the unit.
The ten cup Cuisinart coffee maker purchased in 2008 finally gave up the ghost so we upgraded to a 12 cup this time. As usual, it makes a great cup of coffee and keeps it hot without scorching it. We would have given it 5 stars if the molding quality was better. The first time she lifted the carafe by the handle, it gave her a small laceration on her hand. On closer inspection we found a very sharp flash line next to the metal insert. This is caused from wear between cavity and core seal-off. The plastic 'leaks' between causing this flash. A small riffler file took care of the problem, but be careful when you unpack yours.
Love how quickly it brews my Morning Greek Coffee 😍
Just got the product and the small filter won’t come off any advice. Very disappointed
