Second one and both were broken on the inside in similar location. Not ordering any more
In the past 10-years I've had four or five coffee makers. I love the taste of coffee made with a Lecrueset French press, but it's too hard to cleanup, too labor intensive, and if I wanted a hot cup of coffee after jumping all these hoops, I had to make more biolingvwater to preheat my coffee cup. Using a Chemex maker is a bit easier, but keeping the coffee hot is extremely difficult and even dangerous if I forget to turn the burner off. I liked my Cuisinart automatic coffee maker, but it was hard to clean and the plastic parts seem flimsy. This Zojurishu EC-YGC 120 is fabulous in every way. It's easy to clean and the coffee tastes delicious every time. What's most impressive is the coffee is a perfect 200 F, EXACTLY! Considering all its features and the wonderful coffee, it's a bargin. The BONUS is it is sooooo simple to make ice coffee! Buying this coffee maker again would be a no brainer. As an old man from Maine it was a wise choice!
This coffer maker is made of poor quality materials, I used it once and the glass developed cracks. See attached photo for the bright line (crack) on the bottom of the cup.
I own 4 other different coffee machines with this De'Longhi TrueBrew Coffee Maker being my newest 5th machine. Three machines use different pods. The fourth is a fancy espresso machine. I love exploring different brewing methods. I picked this De'longhi TrueBrew because it is a machine that is capable of handling coffee beans AND pre-ground coffee in addition to various brewing options. I am the only one who drinks coffee daily and did not want to brew an entire carafe with a traditional machine. For my other machines, I went with pods because it was simpler but they are not good for the environment. They were also more expensive. I also didn't want to deal with filters and cleanups with traditional drip brews. With the De'Longhi TrueBrew, I can buy coffee beans or use ground coffee without having to worry about price and the environment. Right out of the box, I noticed that this is a big machine and I couldn't wait to try its capabilities. There are not many parts to assemble, which was a great sign! The water reservoir easily snaps to the main machine. The grinder section is well sealed with a rubber-gasket cover that keeps the beans fresh and away from oxygen. The inner bean container is not removable so you will have to finish one type of bean before you can put in a different type. The main coffee drip section has a removable plate and a catch basin. The body of the machine can be pulled out to reveal two containers. One to catch the used ground coffee and another to catch the extra water. These can all be separated and cleaned. The infuser can also be pulled out for cleaning. It contains a stainless steel mesh instead of the traditional paper filter. What are the brewing options? The machine is very simple to operate. I have been exploring the different brewing options and found them to be significantly different. The strengths of the coffee increases as I tried light, gold, and bold settings, with bold being the darkest in color. I love the large spectrum of brewing sizes from 3oz to 24oz. Sometimes, I only want a quick kick in the morning and would either choose the 3oz or 8oz cup. If I'm heading to the office, I would pick the 20oz for my thermal. How doe the coffee taste? It's very smooth with medium roast. If you use different beans and want to adjust the temperature, you can go into the setting and set the relative temperatures from a range of 1 to 3. The manual doesn't specify the actual temperature so some experimentation is needed. I am very happy with the default setting and enjoy the ease of making coffee. Cleanup: Like with any other appliance, some cleanup is expected. After every few cups, I would clean the overflow and the catch containers inside the machine. I like to also clean the infuser because grounds tend to settle and dry on the mesh. It's relative easy and doesn't require any special effort. Sound: This machine makes some clicks and clacks when starting up, brewing, and after brewing. Don't worry, that is part of the normal operation! This is the perfect single cup machine that I have found so far. It has a built-in grinder, brews a single cup, minimizes waste, and has various brewing options. The coffee tastes delicious and all can be made by pushing two buttons. Instant fresh coffee every time!
Beautifully made and the easiest to brew your ice coffee
I can say that I’m somewhat new to the coffee world. It wasn’t too long ago where I absolutely detested the taste of coffee and did not need it on a daily basis to get my morning going. Oh my how a few years change things. We have been using a Keurig with K cups for quite some now and it still has its place. However, having watched videos on proper coffee, technique, and people talking about how certain aspects of coffee, including the color in the richness and the acidity, and all these things that go into making the perfect cup of coffee, kind of set in with me and I was like this is weird. We weren’t getting any of that desirable Crema in our coffee cup that we brewed through this machine completely covered the top with this with the same coffee that we’ve been using before and it was amazing , so much better than using the environmentally friendly, refillable coffee pods that we’ve been using for a while. This coffee was very good and we have to attest to this new machine. We were going to receive a multitude of attachments for this, and if we took on any of the European style Coffee packages we could get the pieces for that as well. So we can actually have a good cup of coffee from a cake cup as well as loose ground coffee, as well as Nespresso pods and ESE pod, which I’m not familiar with at all the water water container on the back of the machine holds about 0.8 L , which is enough for a couple of cups. We are used to making a lot more coffee at one time so this is a new endeavor for us and that the predominant use for this machine will be to make special coffees. Not just the stuff that gets us going in the morning. we love the outside finish of the machine as it matches our refrigerator as well as our icemaker and air fryer so it fits right in with our other items perfectly. All in all this is a very good machine and a very small compact package that does the job splendidly just like the bigger commercial machines. It makes a good cup of Joe quickly and efficiently.
So I ground my coffee to 2 ticks below medium grind....7 scoops as they require. I chose the highest bold setting. Once completed approx 1/2 hour. I then ran it additionally for a bold cycle same grounds because I like my ice coffee rich and dark. The photo speaks for itself. Horrible unit. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Just opened it and it has a hole in pitcher. Pretty cheaply made for the price
I’ve never been able to make actually good ice coffee at home but I have now! It worked super well and tasted really good the two times I’ve made it iced. Ive also made hot coffee with it twice and it was also a breeze. Really really easy to clean and is a perfect size for two (or let’s b honest a good size for me when I am needing an extra boost) it’s very nice and easy to use and I am actually in love w it.
They send the product with the Nut(Wrench) on the bottom of vessel screwed entirely too tightly onto the Coffee Drain that sits in the middle of the vessel. This causes the rubber seal/washer to get torqued and cause a gap for a leak….. make sure everything is dry… then hold Coffee Drain with pressure (very difficult if seal has been removed and will need lots of forearm strength) while twisting Nut(Wrench) to let left. Replace parts and ensure rubber washer forms complete seal and tighten back barely past finger tight to avoid torquing/warping seal. NO MORE LEAKS! Product is great minus this absolute PAIN.
I absolutely love this cold brew coffee maker! I got this as a gift after my father started making his own cold brew and loved it and knew I would as well. He was correct! I am able to make a cold cup of coffee on my way out the door to work that taste absolutely amazing at a fraction of the cost you would spend going to a fancy coffee shop. I used to make a cup of hot coffee and set in the freezer then pour over ice, it was never all that great but it was cold and caffeinated so it worked. But this is an absolute life changer!
This truly is or I should say, COULD have been the best grind & brew I've ever owned (I have had Capresso, Krups et al). What ruins the entire experience is only 1 thing: The oddly-clumsy and worse-than-poorly designed Carafe. The carafe has a center opening onto which a cap (which has the hole the coffee brews thru) locks. The carafe having this centered opening results also in the carafe having an "inner" lip that from the center opening to the side of the carafe, is about 2.5 inches. This lip surrounds the entire top of the carafe, which prevents one from ever getting all the coffee thats been brewed, out of the carafe. Its like they forgot to put a hole or screen at the lip where it meets the (equally poorly designed) pouring spout. The coffee therefore has to (by feats of gravity i.e. holding the carafe completely upside down and swirling the coffee around) get past & over this lip in order to be dispensed. I knew something wasn't right when I poured my first cup: Even w 8 cups of coffee in it, you shouldn't have to tip the carafe almost upside down to pour the FIRST cup, but w this carafe, thats what you have to do. (But when you do this, drops of coffee emanate from spots around that cap, making a true mess on the counter. NOT a side-effect one should have to tolerate or experience. UPDATE 6/1/2017: Simply don't bother. This thing made coffee that tasted like coffee I've brewed for years in several other coffee makers----for only 1 month. Ever since, no matter what grind size or strength I choose, complete shit comes out. You could put the highest high-test Starbucks in this thing and choose Strength 8-- and it will still come out with an odd metallic, weakish taste. Total fail. DO NOT BUY. (And yes, I clean the ridiculous basket assembly (total PITA) every night. And yes, I only use Filtered Water. (Another total PITA). The thing after only 30 days should not create coffee that is nothing like the coffee it brewed the 1st 2 weeks.
So the idea behind this is that the pour will be even across all the grounds. First time trying it and it works well. The good thing is that it uses the standard coffee filters so that's great instead of needing to buy proprietary filters that only fit that product. Can't complain about it as it does a nice job and you know how much you are pouring since you can see it in the top container. Definitely good!
I looked for the perfect french press for so long. I'm the only coffee drinker in my house and I drink about 2-3 cups of coffee a day. This one was the perfect size for me. It's so beautiful and it feels high quality. It cleans easily as well. I just love everything about it so far.
Made good Corbin the Chinese switch didn’t last long, about 19 months and it died. Of course trying to find a replacement switch for a percolator is rather hard. So going to buy a Faberware one this time around ✌🏻
