After years of of buying your typical "Mr Coffee" type of coffee makers that would last a few years and burn out I really wanted something of a quality brand. Working in various offices my whole career the brand Bunn has always been a brand of quality and durability to me. I ordered this in April of 2017. I wanted time to go by before I wrote a review. I paid $82.95 from coffeemakers.us.com. Arrived quick in a very nice presentation packaging. Kind of like when you first get an Apple product. They put a lot into the packaging. This unit is unique in that it has a reservoir tank which keeps the water constantly hot via a separate on off switch on the left side of the unit. I believe the theory is that hot water is ready to go to make a quick pot in a few minutes rather than having to wait for water to get hot. Well, here the problem with that along with a lot of other annoying issues… The reservoir tank – if you don’t turn it off it’ll evaporate the water and the unit is always on. You may say “well then shut it off dummy!”. Okay, I turn it off but get up in the morning only to turn it back on and wait 20 minutes for it to heat up. Yes, 15-20 minutes the directions says so now my coffee will take as long as 24 minutes to brew. Does not lock the pot in place – on standard coffee makers when you slide the pot on the heat pad it’ll lock itself which assures alignment with the coffee basket. This Bunn does not have that. It’s a visual alignment. The pot if off by a half inch will make the coffee miss the pot’s hole just for it to trickle to the side (as seen in my pictures). A lot of the times you may not even notice it’s slightly off. Also, without this position lock you’re unable to pull the pot out while it’s filling to pour a quick cup. Mostly all standard coffee makers have this feature where when the pot is removed the coffee basket hole closes. In addition, when the coffee is done in the three minutes (assuming the reservoir has hot water in it) you can’t just simply pull the pot out. Why? Because coffee is still slowly dripping out of the coffee basket. You need to pull both the basket and pot out at the same time. I typically hook the handle of the basket over the middle wall of my sink, let it cool down then dump the access coffee down the drain. If you’re wondering what the taste of the coffee is. To me no different than any other machine I’ve had that also had a reusable filter like this Bunn does. As far as durability and aesthetics it gets a thumbs up. It seems to be constructed well. Overall I regret buying this unit. I find myself waiting more, cleaning under it all the time and not always getting a full amount of liquid because it evaporated. Being that it’s twice the price of a conventional average coffee maker it’s just not worth it. I’ll eventually replace this one.
Not only can you use this device to make coffee, it is also useful as a home humidifier, essential oil diffuser, tamale steamer, etc. If you put 12 cups of water in, expect only 8-9 cups of coffee to be made because the rest of the water is used to provide a nice steam bath for surrounding cabinets and your kitchen. So thankful this company has made a product that provides multiple uses; I’m planning on putting it in a closet soon to create a home sauna!
This machine makes me like a real barista! It's easy to use and coffee comes out perfect every single time. They recently updated the app with more functionality, so now we can set different brewing profiles and remote schedule it. I got it for my birthday and have been using it daily since. The only adjustment I had to make was the amount of coffee used vs recommended. The recommendation was too much for me. I reduce it anyways to around half of it and coffee comes out perfect to my taste buds As an extra, it also looks and feels great in my counter
Love this mini coffee machine. The first one I bought was for work and I love the functionality and easy use of it. It brews exactly what you put in the reservoir in less than 2 minutes. Good nice hot cup of coffee in no time without taking much space. Perfect for my husband when I’m not home to make him a expreso.
Like coffee pot but it got wet from rain next time can I get a bag
I was a fan of this coffee machine until it started giving me the E12 error just about every single time I brewed a cup of coffee. I have tried every single thing their guides have suggested, funnily enough, one of those being to run it through a cleaning cycle which it can't run since the E12 error will stop it about a 1/4 of the way through. I am pretty upset that i spent this amount of money on this dysfunctional of a machine. I think the part that gets me the most is constantly unlpugging it and plugging it back in, the machine giving you the tiniest spark of hope about it working, giving you maybe a fluid ounce of coffee, and then giving you the E12 error again.
I've been pleasantly surprised by this Coffee Maker it really meets the daily coffee demands of my family. Brewing up to 12 cups is perfect for our coffee routine, and I like the flexibility to brew just a cup or two when needed. Being able to adjust the coffee strength is a nice feature that caters to individual tastes. What stands out for me is the timer function. Setting it the night before means waking up to a ready-to-go pot in the morning – a game-changer for my rushed mornings. The touchscreen is user-friendly, and the coffee stays warm for around 4 hours before shutting off automatically a practical touch for forgetful mornings. The coffee maker's modern design fits well in my kitchen, and the permanent filter is a money-saver – no need to worry about buying filters. Cleaning is straightforward, especially since I prefer hand washing. Overall, this coffee maker is everything I expected it to be and would highly recommend buying it!
I just received my Simpli Press French Press and absolutely LOVE it. I’ve always owned cheaper French presses, but the Simpli Press is an upgrade that makes all the difference in taste and ease. First, the French press itself has a beautiful and sleek design. I was impressed already before I even started making my coffee. The instructions were clear and easy to read. I have never owned a French press with a separate basket for grounds so it was helpful to know how each piece fit together. When I began the brewing process, I was impressed with how easy it was to push the filter into the basket of grounds — this is something my past French press set ups have struggled with. After waiting three minutes for my coffee to brew, I took my first sip and was blown away! I usually like my coffee on the lighter side, which has always compromised flavor in the past. Not with the Simpli Press! This was one of the most flavorful cups of coffee I’ve had it home in awhile. This is all due to the Simpli Press as I was using the same beans I’ve used for years with my previous French press set ups. Finally, I began the clean up process. Though I found there was some resistance as I pulled the silicone cup of grounds up, it was worth it to just dump the grounds and clean the silicone cup. After using the Simpli Press again, I realized that the resistance was due to the fact that I hadn’t fully emptied out the coffee. With my next brew, I pulled the basket up again with ease. Cleaning my French press is one of my least favorite chores, but the Simpli Press made it a breeze. I can’t recommend the the Simpli Press enough! If you are considering it, do it!
The box itself also looked as if it had been repackaged and sent out again. Can’t even order a replacement for it either.
Yes! Love this! Brew an entire pot or just a single cup! It takes a bit longer than I expected to brew, but it's truly the perfect temperature. We have several coffee systems that scorch the coffee. And this does not! Came with reusable filter for single cup but our puppy got a hold of it and chewed it up before we could use it. I tried to call coffeemakers.us.com customer service to order just that part but was advised to contact manufacturer. Haven't done that yet, but just wanted to say everything works GREAT but I can't give feedback on that one feature.
We had a previous Cuisinart like this that lasted pretty well. Loved the programming feature. It eventually stopped keeping the carafe warm so we needed a new one. This one did work great but started to get rusting on the base where the pot sits. First a little within the first 5 months...now it's a lot. So much that I wonder when it will corrode to the point of failing or being dangerous. Has anyone else experienced this? Never happened on our previous one or the Krups we had before that. Unless I know this can't happen again I'll be replacing it with another brand.
I really love this percolator. All stainless and glass no plastic. I’m sick of making my coffee in plastic pods. This takes a little longer and is a little more work but well worth it.
Nice item ,perfect size for me,the inside filter strain very well, keeps the liquids warm for probably an hour give or take, product was well packed and came out in good 2 perfect looking boxes(original put inside the shipping box). To answer some people it makes a scraping noise, when you move the filter plunger up and down, but that is normal and does not affect the functionality of the product. The only beef I have is,at least in my case, what happened with the quality check of the item, try to DO NOT rely on the chinese quality check, because it will happened what happened to my product. This is not from the transport ,this came from inside of the upper edge and made my item upper lip not round ,but kind of oval on the top edge lip,on the left of the handle.Do to the fact that the boxes they look good upon arrival, and that the lip was push towards outside from inside the item,my conclusion is that happened somwhere on the manufacturer watch.I retrieved 2 stars because of such a nice product, but somebody forgot to pay attention to the final product.
Terrible machine. At first I was excited. The thermal carafe does keep the coffee warm all day. It *does* brew a nice pot of coffee... It floods constantly. If the basket isn't in exactly the right place, **precisely** in the right place, it will flood your countertops. This happens once a week, and apparently there is no failsafe for this. If it's off by 1mm? Coffee flooding your countertops. I actually am very mad about this machine. It is so expensive for what is basically junk. I have made coffee in so many different types of machines, and this one is the absolute worst. The carafe is also terribly designed. It pours painfully slow and at a ridiculous angle, and even then you cannot even pour out the last of it without taking off the lid and flipping the pot upside down. Never have I resented a coffee machine, but here I am.
10/10. I have been using it for months and it still works great. It isn’t very loud and it makes good coffee. Plus it only takes like 2 minutes to brew and the coffee gets pretty hot which is perfect! Some other reviews had problems with the lid not fully closing but mine closes just fine. I definitely recommend this coffee maker if you just want to make one cup at a time and don’t want the hassle of a whole pot of coffee! Plus this one is easy to clean and you don’t need disposable coffee filters.
