There is no on off button as other reviewers point out. So it heats as soon as its on the base. My wife put water in which flashed to steam in her face. She cooks Turkish coffee every day and is from Turkey. No heat control. It went in the trash.
I've used MR. COFFEE for years until about a year ago, when I bought a small Keurig. It was nice, made great coffee...and my daughter fell in love with it. So I gave her mine and purchased a new M. C. There are 2 things I don't like about it; it sure doesn't keep my coffee as hot as the Keurig, and the top lid that goes over the filter is very flimsy and the catch on it appears it can break off very easily if not snapped on just right. None of my former coffee makers were made like this in the past, so I wasn't pleased about that. Mr. Coffee DRX5 4-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Black
The product is labeled as 120V compatible, but it was delivered with a European plug, which seems inconsistent. I would like to initiate a return due to this discrepancy.
Great sturdy/solid French press. I wish this was made in the USA though. Some little blemishes from the manufacturer is a little bit of a bummer. Minor welding mistakes. Some scuffs/blemishes. I had to use a pair of pliers to separate the mesh strainer from the metal shaft. It was on way to tight. Also it threads on a bit canted. For a high dollar french press it could be a little more refined. Should work great for camping though.
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife this past year. The packaging was great, box was not damaged, packaging was not damaged; however one of the pieces of the product itself was damaged. The return process was fairly simple and we also received the replacement in a timely fashion (about a week). The espresso machine runs really loud. Our house is not tiny, but definitely small enough that the whole house hears when my wife makes her morning espresso. The tamping tool provided is also the espresso ground scooper, which is cool at first but irritating after some time using it. The consistency on the frother is mediocre at best; especially if you make more than 1 espresso at a time. For example, if you have the frother set at the highest setting when you make a latte (100 ml), on the first latte you actually get the 100 ml. With each latte made after that, you get less.. I would say maybe 50 ml. And then you end up having to run an additional froth after to get the same output. Overall, good machine; but would say to be prepared to purchase a higher quality espresso machine sooner rather than later as this is clearly a beginner’s espresso machine!
I absolutely love this coffee pot! It works so well, just as well as expensive ones!! Coffee brews fast and stays hot. No grounds, no mess and best of all you don’t need a filter! Love this!
This is my second french press because I wanted to have one to use while I wash the other one. It works pretty well. 20 oz is a good size. The plunger is tight enough not to fall to the bottom on its own while I'm steeping the coffee (a problem with my other press), but still easy to press down when it's time. The filter does a good job of keeping the coffee grounds from coming out. The coffee pours out of the pitcher without any problem. I do have some issues, however, with this press. I wish the press went a little closer to the bottom of the glass container - as you can see in one of my pictures, it stops pretty far from the bottom so there's always liquid trapped with the grounds below the press. There is a flaw on the bottom of the glass part of the pitcher, but I'm not sure if it will affect the durability - so far it has not. The plastic outer layer is my biggest issue. One of the product images describes this as double-walled and it's not really due to the windows in the plastic. The glass pitcher does not appear to be removable from the plastic, but the plastic isn't tight against the glass either, resulting in numerous places where water, coffee grounds, etc. can get stuck between the glass and the plastic (see one pic where I showed an example of the gaps). I am concerned about the growth of mold or even just buildup in those areas I cannot reach to clean. In conclusion - it works as a coffee press, but the plastic casing is poorly designed and I believe will cause cleaning issues long-term.
I’ve bought two of these and after a couple of months of use, they start to leak! I’m going to buy another brand next time.
I really like that this is smaller than our last coffee pot and doesn't take up as much space but is still a 12cup coffee pot. Easy to program and easy to set ahead to brew in the morning before we get up
This is a nice coffee maker and it looks as pictured. It is very easy to use and easy to program. The clock is super easy to set. It bruise coffee nicely and does as it should. I wish there were lights on the display as it is a flat panel and if you're turning it on in the dark or very low lighting it's hard to see. Also the indicator that it is on is very small. It is just a very small digital coffee cup under one of the numbers on the display. So sometimes it's easy to forget to turn it off. It does turn off automatically though which is good. Also for larger hands, my husband did not like the way the handle on the coffee pot is constructed. The top and the bottom of the handle is quite open. You can easily put your finger into it and you really shouldn't be able to, you should be able to just wrap your hand around it. I do like that it has the reusable filter in it and that is very helpful. It also brew very quickly in my opinion. It does create a lot of steam from the top so you do have to pull it out from under a cabinet if you have it situated where there's a cabinet above it.
I rotated the reservoir from the right side to the rear. It's a big unit, but smaller than two separate ones. I like the k-cup socket recessed midway back, with drinks flowing down. Anyone who's experienced a k-cup rupture knows the cleanup, this design minimizes that chance. The thermal carafe is better than a hotplate. The brew heat is actually hot, another concern I had. The controls are on the top 1. press on button 2 strong option button (if desired) 3 select k-cup or carafe 4 if k-cup select size 5 press brew. K-cup are done in about 90 seconds. It's easy to clean, reservoir is big. A peculiarity is if there's only a cupful of water left in reservoir it won't brew. I didn't read any warning about that but once I filled it, no problem. The charcoal filter goes in the reservoir, and takes a 5-minute first-use soaking. I'll revise this if any changes. It's a big unit. Expect a bigger box from coffeemakers.us.com. Happy coffee tea hot drinks, all!
This is my first stovetop siphon coffee maker. I use propane siphon for several years. The taste of this stovetop siphon coffee maker is fine. Better than most of the coffee maker in shop. Bottom area is too a large which holds too much water not suck to the top. Because of the big bottom area, heats go too well 3 spoons coffee powder is too much. I think it should suck more water to mix with coffee. The rubber thing too loose. I need to remove it before pour coffee. It’s good to try but I won’t buy again.
Best solution for convenience and easy to install. Works with the side tank of my Jura z10.
Great in theory. Lines go up to 24oz and 800ml which is 27oz then maybe you get 28 if you fill to the top...
