It's a work of art that makes great coffee in a ridiculously overcomplicated fashion. Fun to watch, but somewhat less so if what you really wanted was a cup of coffee right away. I have no regrets buying it and would do so again. That said, here's some things to watch out for. The instructions indicate to first fill the alcohol lamp only half full. Which I did, but figuring I'd add more fuel when it ran out. What the instructions SHOULD say is top it off to half full every time you use it. The lamp cracked after only a few uses. The seller "Coffee and Toy" was excellent about shipping a replacement, and I of course watched more closely what was happening with the new one. So far the new lamp, filled halfway for each use, is fine. I've been looking around for some sort of electric replacement for the lamp, and either a mesh or disposable paper filter replacement for the cloth ones. Since the cloth filters are so comparably expensive I've tried reusing them, but you can taste it after two reuses, so no. 2 stars on cleaning; since the coffee goes back into the copper boiler, I bought an extra toothbrush to use through the tiny fill hole to scrub it out.
This set is excellent. The removable side attachment powers the grinder and frothing unit. The frothing unit works incredibly well, even with no fat milk. The grinder was used for the first taste test of the unit with fresh ground coffee. The grinder worked well and there is an included little brush for getting all the grounds from the unit. You choose ground or capsule on the machine, ounce brew size then press the ground or capsule button a second time to start brewing.
Best coffee maker I have had in past 29 years! I live alone so daily coffee is my job - FIRST thing every morning. I bought this beautiful RED coffee maker in fall 2022 when relocating to current area. It also moved with me a year later to different place. So far, it has worked perfectly from Sept 2022 thru today - total of 898 days - and no sign of problems. I've made a MINIMUM of one 12-cup pot of coffee every day. Price is beyond well worth it! Pics below: day it was first unpacked and today's location. M Lane 03-12-25
BEST kitchen appliance I have EVER owned!!!! LOVE!!! I asked for this for Christmas after reading so many wonderful reviews. I was so excited and had very high expectations. On Christmas Day I tested it out for my family for the first time, and it was all wrong. Well I definitely didn't follow the recipe instructions for starters and didn't put the lid on correctly. So because of my stupidity the lid popped off and everything when flying out making a big mess, and it was runny, ice was chunky and I was disappointed. HOWEVER, A few days later decided to give it a try again but following the recipe this time and putting lid on rid. I added XANTHAN GUM...SECRET INGREDIENT. 3 minutes later, the frappe was PERFECTION!! My husband doesn't even like coffee, and he really loved the peanut butter cup frappe I made him. The XANTHAN gum is what made it super thick and creamy and there was not one ice chunk of any kind. The XANTHAN gum keeps the ice from crystallizing and it's what the coffee shops use to make it so thick and creamy. Now I am totally obsessed with my frappe right maker and it's so easy to make once you get the hang of it. I've tweeked a few of the recipes to make them a little more flavorful. Also, if you go to their website they have many more recipes to make than the book they give you has. If you like frappes, then there's no doubt you need to have one of these. You will save a ton of money from buying at the cafes and you don't need to leave you home to get it. I love that it's not coffee exclusive either, you can make green tea lattes and blended fruit drinks, protein shakes ect. Some of the recipes use some ice cream for more of a dessert drink too. LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS and I've told all my friends they need one! Just be sure to follow the instructions and recipes so it doesn't get messed up. Also, it does startle me like other reviewers say when it switching to frappe, but just be prepared and all is well!!
Glass cold brew 1 quart Vine review. Brand: TAKEYA. Something is apparently wrong with this listing. When a new 1 quart glass jar is combined with an old listing for a 2 quart Tritan jar. It is apples and oranges. This TAKEYA 1 quart new product has a glass jar, as of today ONLY 3 reviews are for the glass jar, and the other 59,797 ratings today are not for this new release with a glass quart jar. 🤷🏼♂️ The other 59,797 ratings may be a count error, and some of the ones that are real ratings are probably for the 2 quart Tritan jar. I won’t be counting! I actually like that Tritan material, but this isn’t what is being reviewed here. We begin. It’s one quart, you will probably want more than 32 ounces brewed at a time. The mesh filter is fairly flimsy, and porous, unless you like the “fines” that get though this mesh, you can do better. As other reviews have mentioned, installing the filter in the handle cap is a bit wonky. I found it easiest to hold both upside down and screw in the filter. If you are slow, you should not spill. Only then screw this into the glass jar holding your 32 oz of water. The shipping box says “Odor-free, stain-free, taste-neutral borosilicate glass.” I brew 24 hours at room temperature, so it fits a routine. Ask around for suggestions for how many Tablespoons to put in the mesh for that 24 hours and 32 oz. Everyone has an opinion!!! Brew and adjust. Tasting your results: You can always add some water if too strong. But you can’t add coffee if too weak. Many variables when cold brewing. Coarse grind beans are best. And you can experiment mixing two or more types of beans! I don’t like the mixed listing, that implies this 1 quart glass is highly rated. I don’t like the mesh filter that can’t last as long as the metal, I don’t like how it screws into the handle. And the price today is too close to the truly outstanding Lafeeca Cold brew pot. And likely others. It will make decent cold brew though, and if you don’t like the fines, don’t pour them in your cup!!! But no value here, average build. 3 Star review. I instantly became a follower of Lafeeca here on coffeemakers.us.com. And yes it has Tritan pitchers in their cold brew models and my rare 5 Star rating. This is my first review and I will update depending on costumer service. The product arrived with broken glass and scratched veneer stand.
I like this coffee maker because it work really good. My husband and I were looking for something to replace our Keurig after it died. So we looked for a really long time and checked out all the reviews and all the single serve coffee makers. And this one has the best reviews so we decided and bought it so far we love it.
Love the small size. Fits great on the counter in our camper. I recommend this coffee maker to anyone with an rv or a small kitchen space.
I am a total coffee nerd, and the Yama siphon makes the best coffee I have ever had!! It is durable, fun to watch, easy to clean, beautiful to look at and produces the most delicious rich cup of coffee of all other siphon brewers I have worked with. The last pic shows how little cleaning is required of this incredible coffee siphon. For those unfamiliar with siphon brewing- please note there is a slight learning curve, but not much of one and the rewards of siphon coffee brewing are so worth the extra bit of time:)
The coffee "Pour Over Maker Set" is very misleading, because it only holds 2 mugs of coffee. Which is about 12 oz of coffee. The picture they show on coffeemakers.us.com is not accurate.
This thing is great. It does its job of adding N2 to drinks. Instructions are easy to follow and the unit is easy to clean. Besides nitro-brewing coffee I've used it to make nitro-matcha. Gotta make sure to filter your brew, any small contaminates will clog the spout and cause dribble. A matcha sifter gets the job done. All in all good purchase if you like to nitro your drinks. Adds a milky/frothy mouthfeel without the presence of milk, what crazy ingenuity.
We've been using this french press for about a year now. It has satisfied us in every way. The biggest problem we had with previous French Press carafes is the plastic connection between the rod and the screen. The connection on this one is all steel and has not broken or worked itself loose. It is insulated instead of glass or single-walled stainless steel, so if you happen to get distracted after you press your coffee, it'll still be hot when you remember that you can't get through your morning without coffee. Our only wish is for a larger capacity for those times when guests want coffee too. This press is on the expensive side but it will easily outlast many of those lesser French press carafes. This will spit hot liquid out of the spout if filled too full. Most people like to get as much coffee as possible so it's totally understandable to fill this up to the bottom of the pouring spout and maybe a smidgen above there. If you do this be careful! Press the coffee down as slowly as you can for the first inch of travel. If you are in a hurry for your coffee, and rush it, you will be surprised (or maybe just irritated if it's the 2nd or 3rd time) by a shot of hot coffee and grounds spewing from the pouring spout. This is not a defect. This is user error. If you don't want to spray hot coffee and grounds all over, don't fill it up past the bottom of the pouring spout.
This thing is solid. It works as advertised and makes great cold coffee in as little as 8 hours. I was a little skeptical when I first heard about the whole, cold-brew process. I've always been a hot coffee fan, but I've got to say, I'm hooked on the cold-brew process now! It's now part of my daily routine. Every night I fill the filter with medium-coarse ground coffee, fill the bottle up with water (to the top of the rubber band), let it sit in my fridge over night and then I grab it when I'm out the door for work. They say to let coffee brew in the refrigerator for at least 8-10 hours, though I like my coffee a little stronger-- so I found 12 hours to be about perfect. As far as the construction of the product goes-- it's flawless. Everything screws on tight and easily. So far I have had no problems with it. Highly recommended! I received this product in exchange for my fair and unbiased review.
I found the size and shape of the VA1KENE Mason Jar Pitcher immediately appealing. It is about the same size as a half-gallon carton of milk, making it easy to carry or stow in the refrigerator. The fine-grained removeable filter, handle and lid with pouring spout give it a lot of range for preparing or serving many kinds of drinks, from cold brew coffee and infused water to powdered drink mixes or margaritas. A great find. Photos: 🍋 The clear glass pitcher, empty 🍯 Making sun tea with lemon and honey
