  • This coffee maker is a disaster. It causes coffee tsunamis all over the kitchen. Today I am late for work, with a destroyed kitchen and no coffee thanks to this monster. Shame on Krups for selling this worthless nightmare.

I got this to replace my Keurig coffee maker. I was tired of boring straight coffee with cream and sugar and stopped by starbucks every now and then which can get expensive fast. I was worried that this wouldn't brew fast enough but a nice latte takes under 5 minutes once you get the hang of throwing everything in. It gets a wonderful froth going and is great with regular milk or soy milk. I've used almond but that gets quite a bit less froth. Some things to note if you're moving from keurig, there's a little more stuff to clean, the carafe and the lid and the frother need a quick rinse and I usually pull out the coffee filter after using it so it stays clean.

  • Muy útil, una excelente inversión!

Our replacement Cuisinart Grind and Brew DGB-700BC from July 2016 literally just went up in smoke--like the one it replaced. My brother's 1st one of these also burnt up, but his current (2nd) one has lasted 6 years. If you have one of these, please do not leave it on and unattended. It is a fire hazard. I called Cuisinart customer service andI was told that normally, customers cannot request that a different model be sent to them until a 3rd replacement fails. I refused a 3rd replacement because I am afraid to accept the risk of the fire hazard this model poses. I suggested that this model be recalled, so the representative sent my complaint up to corporate. An answer is expected in 3-5 business days. It is truly a shame because this model grinds the beans and makes delicious coffee!!!

I was one of the first people to get a Bruer cold brew system through Kickstarter and have had nothing but two years of joy from it! Making a pot for tomorrow morning's enjoyment right now.... About two years later. Still going strong, but I don't make cold brew every day. Maybe once a week. You'll like the Bruer if: - you have an AeroPress and like fiddling with your coffee recipe - you appreciate Kyoto-style cold drip for $6/cup from your specialty coffee house, but hate the cost - you don't need cold brew every day, but 2-3 cups per run are sufficient - you will only hand wash lab-quality glassware and will spend 30-seconds to wash this - you want coffee in which you can taste EVERY note, from chocolate to strawberry to vanilla - you can watch the YouTube how-to video from the makers and follow instructions - you already have a gram scale, burr grinder, and measuring cups (you're a coffee geek) You won't like the Bruer if: - you make and drink coffee by the pitcher with a Mr Coffee (you want a lot of coffee fast with no fuss) - you don't want to make cold brew the night before (this takes overnight to drip) - you want the cheapest cup of coffee possible (55g of grounds to 24oz water for the concentrate is about double my grounds:water ration for hot coffee, so this coffee costs double per glass... Which is why Kyoto costs a lot too) - you must dishwasher everything or have pets or small children with access to your kitchen countertop (this isn't made of bulletproof glass) - you're not willing to be lab-precise in your coffee making (I measure my beans to the gram, my water to the mL, set my Baratza burr grinder, and stopwatch time my drip rate)

Upon receiving this brewing machine I proceeded to do a water flush per the instructions using filtered water. My wife and I saw debris floating on the surface of the hot water in the carafe, so I ran another flush. Good thing I did. The heated water that resulted still had something lighter than water floating on top in the carafe (video). I ran a couple more carafes of filtered water with the same results albeit with diminishing floating material, but still there. I called Breville’s customer service and received an automated message of a promise for a call back when staff was available. That call did not come. For grins we ran no fewer than 15 full carafes of filtered water through the machine. Every pot full had the same floating material. (picture). My wife did another water flush USING A COFFEE FILTER, and there was no debris. It seems that the material was coming from inside the machine and was trapped in the coffee filter, but we couldn’t see anything in the filter. After 4 days with no call back, I returned the machine. Not knowing what this material was, I could not take the risk of consuming a pot full of coffee with this material getting into the coffee. Seems that Breville’s manufacturer is not fully testing the product before putting it on the market. My wife made a call today, (2~weeks past the return date) and had the same response I received from their customer service department. The automated answer said she would receive a call back in 40 minutes, but the call didn’t come. Too bad too, the carafe was the most thermally sound I have ever encountered and kept the water hot for hours.

Probably not the manufacturer’s fault but this arrived obviously used, dirty and disgusting. I obviously am not going to use it so I can’t say anything about it’s functionality.

  • I like everything about this coffeemaker except the obvious. I also have a daily reminder on my cell phone.

  • Nice gadget! Yield about 18oz of coffee at the max fill line or probably 22oz if you push it (fill water to 1/3inch above the max fill, which pushes to the edge once it starts spinning and with coffee added as in my picture). I use about 70g of ground to make a batch of 3 6-7oz cups each time. I leave it spinning for about 2 hours which produces a fairly bold coffee. Getting the ground out is a bit messy. Just wouldn’t come out easily unless you are just washing everything down the drain (I don’t because I don’t want potential clog) Messier than the typical French press.

  • No leaking, great seal when pouring, easy to clean. The only thing is that I've had the product for about 2 weeks, there's a spot that's rusty already. I don't really like rust around something I'll be ingesting into my body.

  • The pot exploded when making coffee

  • The poor packaging. I received damaged piece instead of new one. The cover was broken and the filter was stock inside and not able to move it at all. You can check the pics. Not happy

I love these pots! Everyone in my family has one. I just bought this new one after having my other one for prob over 10 years. I like that it is super easy to clean and every single part can be cleaned individually. No hidden gross water or mold anywhere. Very easy to use!

  • This review is for the BLACK+DECKER 12-Cup CM2046S. I am 3 weeks into this coffee maker and so far no regrets. For an inexpensive $62 coffee maker I was pleasantly surprised to how excellent tasting the coffee has been! The YouTube Reviewer Just A Dad took the water temperature, during brewing, at 190 degrees. After pouring into the cup it was 175. This Black & Decker has a sleek look a with a carafe that has a wide opening, making it very easy to clean. It uses flat bottom filters that easily fit into the basket. I like the pulsating flashing blue power button during brewing, and although there’s no beep at the end of the cycle it goes into countdown mode beginning at 120 minutes to let you know how long the coffee is in the carafe. After 2 hours it will automatically shut off. It has a Bold feature for optimal extraction of the coffee grounds. I made coffee with and without the Bold feature and either way the coffee comes out hot and tasty. It brews a little slower on the Bold setting and the coffee is slightly stronger without being bitter. Prior to this I had a Zujirushi 10 cup maker with thermal carafe and enjoyed it for about 3 years until it began leaking puddles of water. My wife and I also noticed that the coffee was gradually not as hot as it used to be. Comparing the flavor of this Black & Decker to the Zujirushi, the B&D noticeably brews a well rounded smoother tasting cup of coffee. We now realize that the Zojirushi made coffee a little bit on the bitter side. It’s much slower brew may have caused over extraction of the coffee grounds. Before that I owned the Bonavita BV1800 glass carafe and for about 5 years it made excellent coffee until the warmer plate failed. I also owned a Technivorm Moccamaster and tried different settings and could not get a decent cup of coffee. I expected much more for $359 machine with all the positive reviews and it’s reputation. The other thing I didn’t like about it was all the plastic parts that needed to be cleaned. I ending up returning it after 2 days. So this B&D coffee maker does have a couple of features that could use improvement. As others have pointed out the clock display screen is not back lit and difficult to read. When I use the bold setting I could barely see the tiny “Bold” reading on the display. Not the end of the world as I have just trusted that it’s on that setting and notice that it will brew slightly slower as the grounds are getting soaked a little longer for that optimal flavor. The other thing is the stainless steel carafe. It will keep coffee hot for maybe an hour as my wife noted. She drinks her coffee a little than I do and sometimes has her second cup an hour and a half later. The most important thing for me is the temperature and the flavor and this coffee maker checks off both of those requirements. This coffee maker does have a 2-year limited warranty, so if it survives 3 years, I feel that it was an excellent value! So far I can recommend this beauty without hesitation!
