I just unboxed my coffee pot. The inside bottom has a few dented places. I was going to return this. But I gave it a try and this coffee maker works wonderfully . I hope it lasts because it sure make a good cup of Joe.
Works great, no issues here. It comes with a reusable filter.
This is not a bad little product, but it needs to be stronger glass. Glass is cheap, so why do they make this so thin???? Maybe they want you to break it and buy another. I say, buy a stronger one, not this one. It also needs to be offered in a bigger model. All the pictures make it look big, but it's not until you open the box that you realize how small it is. It's a personal use coffee filter setup. If there are two or more of you in the family, it will not be sufficient. There's a little rubber tab that's pressed onto its handle that slips off. If it does so while it's loaded up full of grounds and hot water, you have a huge mess in your kitchen. I have no idea why they put that little rubber tab on there without affixing it permanently. I suggest you take it off and put it away somewhere for some other use. Cleaning the filter assembly is not as easy as they claim. I use filter papers to make it easier, otherwise you spend a couple of minutes there, scrub scrub rinse rinse scrub scrub rinse rinse, to get it clean. The sales material goes on and on about getting the natural taste of coffee and its oils without using the paper filter, but that's a bunch of malarkey. The acids and oils in coffee don't taste good. An unbleached paper filter helps a lot with the taste
I liked the design and quality of the current Hamilton Beach Compact Drip Coffee Maker. It is apparently smaller than my 12-cup coffee maker but has many other advantages. It is very quick in brewing coffee withing 4-6 minutes. It preserves the natural flavor of the coffee which I do not see in many midrange coffee makers. I ordered the model with a single on/off switch which is very handy and easy to use. It occupies much less space than my older coffee maker in the kitchen. This is critical when you have a smaller counter or when you want to place the coffee maker under cabinets. The FrontFill design of the water reservoir and the swing-open brew-basket design show the manufacturer's thought for designing this coffee maker for compact kitchens and spaces. Filling water in the reservoir is very easy with almost no splash or leak. I also found that the basket can be lifted and washed in the dishwasher. The pot size is relatively small but is quite enough for brewing two medium to large cups of coffee. I am a little skeptical about the 5-cups capacity with a single brew. It also has the auto-shutoff option that is quite useful and safe when I forget to turn off the coffee maker. My overall experience with this Hamilton Beach compact drip coffee maker has been so positive so far. I enjoy the flavor of my coffee more than my previous coffee maker and surely, I get my coffee in much less time now!
We got this coffee maker a few years back. We absolutely love the minimalist style of it. We are a little disappointed in that they used cheap plastic for the filter receptacle. It doesn’t look cheap but it feels cheap. About the flavor, this coffee maker makes a decent cup of coffee... I don’t think it makes exceptional coffee, at least we didn’t experience the amazing flavor that the company raves about. To be fair, neither my husband or I are coffee experts. My biggest problem and the reason for the low rating is not with the product itself but with the Poot customer service. I contacted the company to let them know that one of the switches broke (it fell inside the coffee maker) they never contacted me about it. That tells me that they don’t stand behind the quality of their products. I think for the price that these items cost, they should prioritize customer service and they don’t.
Just a few things I feel should be pointed out for the average consumer. The biggest change we noticed right away is the warming plate; with your typical at home coffee maker, you can “feel “the warming plate when you set your carafe in it to know it’s in place. You don’t have that with this machine, so you just need to be careful that it’s underneath the dripper, which is a good size so it’s kind of hard to miss. But something to know. Two- if you have a member of the family who might not pay attention quite as much, you have to maybe make them a cheat sheet like I did that says “filter in, water in, carafe under, close the lid. “ lol. It is a great function that it has the hot water ready to go at all times, but if you close that lead even two seconds before the carafe is under, you’ll have coffee on your warming plate. But aside from that, if you are looking for a nice, quick, not too big in size coffee maker to make a hot pot of coffee for every day use, this is it! I loved my flex brew system, but it was taking over 15 minutes to make a bowl pot of coffee. At 6 AM with an 18 month old… I just need my coffee! LOL Enjoy!
I should have bought this sooner! No more waiting for coffee! Setup was easy. I attached a picture of part of the manual. Some of the restrictions are hilarious.
This model (Ninja CFP201) was working well for about half a year before it refused to dispense K-Cups properly. It would only dispense half the amount and with loads of grounds. After a very long service call, they agreed to send out a completely new unit entirely. This worked for about 2 months before the K-Cup functionality began to smoke and make awful noises during brew while sending grounds everywhere. The fact that the K-Cup feature is a removeable piece should be a red flag for anyone buying this. It's not built for longevity. The drip brew portion is still fine (this part is built in) so I may keep it around for that, but pretty bummed that we're out for around $150+ for what should be a mid end unit in the market.
I bought this as a gift for my mother and the front label is peeling off on both sides. We had it less than a week when it started peeling. It works fine. My mother is in a wheelchair and kept breaking the glass pots, so we got the stainless steel to eliminate the 'breaking' factor. I would have loved to give this product more stars, but have been very disappointed in the quality. I have to wonder how long it will take for everything else to start falling apart.
Functional little coffee pot. Serves its purpose. If you’re looking for a high end fancy looking coffee maker than this is not it! Lol This quaint pot does its job for a decent quality price. :) The lid was a little off upon purchase but did not deter me when I did read it on other reviews prior to purchasing. As time has gone on it has become more warped with each use (opening & closing) but nothing that has caused me to discontinue use. Small size structure that fits on top of a microwave area. Depending on your coffee mug size you can get a good amount of 3 to 31/2 cups of coffee. (We tend to use larger coffee mugs) lol
I like the taste of coffee this makes but it takes 15 minutes exactly for one cup and that’s a long time but then again if you’re in your car or truck traveling I guess you have the time :). This would be awesome for truckers to get a fresh cup whenever they want without having to pull a big rig over for coffee. And of course great for camping and to use in motels instead of theirs. What makes this coffee pot unique is that it only has a car lighter charger that can also be used with your power box and that’s it. No other plug can be used. It’s takes one tablespoon ( spoon included ) in the reusable basket and you use your cup to measure the amount of water needed and you dump it all in and turn the “on” button on on the side and you have to press hard until you feel it click and you see the red light come on then it’s on. Like I said it will take 15 minutes per cup but it’s delicious and for me I like more than one tablespoon of coffee to make it a little darker. The coffee pot automatically shut off by itself after each cup. I think this would be a great gift for the trucker or traveler in your life especially if they love good coffee!! Comes to your home perfectly!
I normally use an insulated French press, but this cold-brew system may be my new "go to." I've made cold brew coffee before with other methods but this is by far the best. Preparation and clean-up are quick and easy, and the coffee is incredibly smooth and flavorful. This system reduces the acidity without taking away any of the dark rich flavor. This is not a watered-down version of coffee. It's the real thing! The carafe is glass but very sturdy and it arrived very well packed. Highly recommend and would definitely buy again!
This coffee maker is great for one or two people. I love the compact size. It is exactly what I was looking for. I love that it does not take up much counter space. Great for small spaces.
I purchased this french press to keep at work, and I absolutely love it! I use it everyday. It's easy to use and easy to clean. It's simple and makes a great cup of coffee.
First off the size is exactly what I wanted however, the filter is a danger zone. I don't know if I got a defective one or if that is by design but as I was washing the filter the little flap inside of it cut my finger. Not good.
