YOU HAVE TO CLEAN THE NOZZLE FROM COFFEE occasionally or it will clog up and blow steam. Hard coffee grains will accumulate inside metal nozzle holes and dry up. The motor will not be able to apply enough pressure to clear the jam. I suggest you use your human ingenuity and a fork to clear the clog.
I loved this so much, I bought two. One for home and one for office. We wanted the flexibility of full pot or Keurig type pods. We use the suggested reusable pods - I hate the disposable pods, you can see the reusable ones in the picture. We bought a pack of 5 reusable filter pods so there is always a clean one available, then clean at end of day, etc… Make sure to get the compatible filter pods that have three holes at top. They are super easy to use and durable. The coffee maker never leaks as long as you keep the main filter in place. There are two parts, the main filter cup and the Keurig pod holder that fits into the filter cup. They are both easy to remove and clean, we clean daily and we love the ease of use. We use the frother daily, warm up milk for 15 secs in the microwave then froth and add coffee. The frother pops off for easy clean up and pops back on. Love the digital controls, super nice selections. Water tank comes off easy to fill and clean. Water tank can be on side or back, we keep on the side. This is the most versatile coffee maker I have used. Love it!! I really like to keep everything clean at end of the day and this one makes it so easy. Oh yeah, the coffee it makes is great and by not using Keurig disposable pods, you save a tone of money. You also use a lot less coffee grounds with reusable pods vs standard filter style coffee.
The Base is not flat as it a bit curved. Also there is a lot of mold residuals
I have used all the adaptors, coffee smells incredible. Brews fast and coffee tastes great.
I like the reusable filter. I detest buying coffee filters. This also will stay warm for four hours, so no re heating in microwave. Having auto shut off is so much more safer and I really think it should be on every gadget. Especially items that heat up. Makes a great tasting brew with good beans and water. Rinses out easily. So easy to set up! Took me one minute to set clock etc. Fairly durable, but carafe May shatter if knocked too hard. I would like a longer cord, but not really a big deal. Not real heavy so can travel from house to house with no problems. Easy to read fill lines.
Works great! I’ve only had it several days but it’s perfect for my household. I like the holding tank for the water so I don’t have to fill it when I’m half asleep in the morning. I like its quick brewing time and flavorful robust coffee. I’ve been using screen filters for years and think they are great, yes there is a little sediment in the bottom of the cup but I don’t drink it the small grinds fall to the bottom. Cleanup is a breeze just tap the scoop in trash and a quick rinse under faucet and ready for next time. Very easy and not sure why so many complaints about this. Mine does not drip after the cycle if I wait a little but I put a cup in place under the dispenser to catch any lingering drips this is a common complaint but I see no worries with this. The design and looks is much better in person than the image on the ad. Seems well built and is so much better than the keurig style machine. I can make a strong cuppa or a light cuppa tall or small too. I have no complaints I just hope it is built to last, it’s the best coffee machine I’ve ever owned!
This is a great coffee machine. The package arrived with a bunch of cups for different things (coffee grounds, k-cup, and other things), but I only wanted this for the K-cup method of making coffee, and it works great. My other machine kept failing to pour coffee, it was just too old and full of limescale, so I was excited to try a new machine and the only regret is waiting to get a new machine. This coffee machine is drama free, I just throw a k-cup in the machine and hit the brew button. The water reservoir is only big enough for 2 big cups of coffee, but that's also a good thing because I don't have standing-water in there for too long and the coffee tastes better having fresh water. The one thing I was surprised about was the cleaning function. I haven't had a cleaning function on my other coffee maker, so I'd like to see if this helps, but I have to wait for scale to build up first. I'll report back if there is anything noteworthy later. Overall, I like the coffee maker, and I should have gotten it a long time ago to replace my old k-cup machine.
The Cuisinart 5 cup coffee maker is not as basic and classic as I thought! It has several components and the water reservoir is at the top canister. You can also use it for cold brews by placing ice in the reservoir. It is just a reliable machine that makes the perfect Brew. This machine is no different. Super easy to operate as with any coffee machine, sturdy material and glass carafe. The carafe is small. For some reason, coffee always takes taste better coming out of a Cuisinart coffee maker machine. This coffee maker offers a handsome design with a translucent top that can be used as a water reservoir and you can actually use it for both hot or over ice brewing. Will keep your coffee warm for 30 minutes. This is great for the home or the office. It’s easy to operate and definitely reliable. Highly recommend.
Update: The first one I bought lasted about 19 months. The price has increased almost 50% since I bought that one. When it died I tried a few other models that are less expensive. After a day or a week I returned those and ultimately bought another one of these. I’ve had my second one about 11 months now. I will likely never buy anything else. Best coffee I’ve ever been able to make at home. It used to be if you bought something from Cuisinart you could expect to still have it in five years. I wish that was still the case, but if I’m being completely honest I would buy a new one of these every year if I have to. I looked at every model of thermal carafe coffee maker and read a lot of reviews before choosing this one. This is, by far, the hottest coffee I have ever gotten from a home coffee maker. For me, this is a huge selling point. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot enough to enjoy without microwaving for at least 4 hours. Even after 6 or 7 hours the coffee is still warm and tasty. Because it does not use a warming plate to keep the coffee hot, the last drop of coffee tastes as good as the first. I will never go back to a glass caraf. I like the flavor of my coffee better than I have with any other coffee maker I've ever owned. The carafe is large. It holds almost 2 liters if you fill it to the 12 cup mark. The pour spout is designed specifically so It doesn't dribble all over the place when I pour. It makes the coffee pretty quickly. Speed depends on the settings you use and, obviously, how much coffee you're making. A full pot without the bold setting is read in about 11 or 12 minutes. It is completely programmable so you can setup the coffee to be ready at whatever time you'd like. It also has a "1-4" button for if you're making 1 to 4 cups of coffee, and a "bold" button if you like stronger coffee. Those two buttons have a similar function. They slow the water flow over the grinds so you get the full flavor in a small pot, or a bolder flavor in any pot. A note about pouring because I've seen some reviewers that didn't like how the pot pours. I don't use the pot to fill the reservoir with water. I did that the first time and it pours way too slowly. That was aggravating. That may be why others complained. So I use a plastic pitcher for filling the reservoir. It appears that the top to the pot is designed to control the flow rate when pouring. I see this as a positive. When I'm filling my coffee cup I'm never wishing it would pour faster. I'm just glad coffee isn't getting all over the counter, the floor, or me. I noticed some reviewers said the buttons stopped working after a few months or a year. I will say that it doesn't take much force at all to get a response from whatever button you push. Because of those reviews I make a point of not using much force when I hit "Brew" or whatever button I'm pushing. If you poke them hard over and over, I could see them not working anymore after awhile. This coffee maker looks nice in my kitchen. If you have stainless steel appliances it will match. It takes up a very reasonable amount of space on my counter. The measurement lines are on the right side in the middle; however you can pour the water into the reservoir from either side. The reservoir is the whole back of the unit and is accepts water on either the left of the right side. The filter basket is cone shaped. It comes with a gold screen reusable filter insert. I still use a paper filter in that as well because I don't like any sediment in my coffee. The paper cone filters cost a little more than standard filters but not so much that it is deal-breaker for me. A few extra dollars every 3 or 4 months. You have the option to use a charcoal water filter, but if you never use one it doesn't change how to unit performs. The charcoal filter's purpose is to filter things like the chloriine flavor out of your water. I use it. Some reviewers complained that the instructions are lacking in detail. Maybe the manufacturer has updated them since then. For the most part the setup is all pretty logical. The one thing I found difficult to figure out and not explained in the instructions was getting the charcoal filter into the filter holder. Turns out it is apparently so easy it looks hard. I included a few pics. On the stem portion of the charcoal filter holder is the word "open" with an arrow pointing downward. Right below that on the base is a little notch that sticks up. Just gently pull on the little notch and the front of the base flips open. The back left corner of the water reservoir has a slot cutout in the bottom to hold the base of the charcoal water filter setup. You just gently set it down in there. You don't have to force it. And it stays in place. The last pic is of the cutout in the bottom of the water reservoir. Other than that setup was really easy. The filter basket only fits in one way. It's a no-brainer to see where the water goes. The instructions tell you how to use all the buttons and features. There is a ready tone that beeps 5 times when the coffee is finished brewing. It's pretty loud. If you don't like that, you just press the "Tone" button near the clock face and the ready tone is off. It comes with one charcoal water filter, several cone shaped paper coffee filters, and a coffee scoop. coffeemakers.us.com sells the charcoal filters and the paper cone filters for very reasonable prices. I've been using this coffee maker since the day after Christmas 2019 and I have no complaints. I will update this review if anything changes. I've had a Bunn, and several models of Hamilton Beach over the course of 20 years. So far, this is the best coffee maker I've ever owned.
As a coffee addict, I was very worried when packing for a Summer music Festival when I saw that no glass was allowed on the list. This is a super easy way to meet your morning coffee addiction without having to use glass. You simply insert one of the small size two cones into the top part, mad your coffee grounds, and pour your boiling water into the grounds. Your coffee drips directly into your mug. This is definitely a lifesaver for camping or festivals where you do not want to risk broken glass. I would definitely order this again -- it has become an integral part of my camping gear
Exactly what I wanted! It's beautiful, easy to use and coffee is great. Solid quality glass and bamboo wrap. Steel filter works great. I am 100% happy I got this one!! Only thing I didn't realize was that my hand wouldn't fit into the carafe, so I can't reach the bottom of the pot to clean it easily.
So versatile you can use k cups or coffee for the single serve side or make a whole pot.
This is an attractive, sleek appliance. Easy to use. Easy to clean. And the coffee is very hot and flavorful. Auto shut off is great - because my husband and I wake up and different times so we often forget. The carafe pours smoothly without spills. We have not noticed any condensation along the front panel as it brews. Even if it only works for a year or so - well worth the price. Recommend. (Will come back and alter review if it breaks soon or something)
We love this coffee maker, we got rid of the gigantic old machine, and now we have more space in our small kitchen. The filter is awesome, didn’t left any residue like others. And the coffee tastes better. But my only complaint is that the upper rim is very sharp, and I cut my finger when I was cleaning it :(
I have been a big fan of Keurig for some time! I got my first one which I still have several years ago and absolutely love it! The only downside is no pots for when guests come over! What I like about 2.0: 1. I love that it still makes a perfect individual cup of coffee and that you can chose 10oz and strong. (The old 10oz option tasted watered down) 2. Great for when company comes over or you know it's a 2-3 cup kind of day! 3. It has a larger reservoir than my old keurig Dislikes: 1. Of course we all know the big downside here is the codes have to match your k-cup (bummer) 2. It's kind of noisy compared to my old style keurig 3. I don't like you can't choice a 10oz hot water option. Overall it's a nice upgrade from the old version especially if you want options large or small! I did receive this product for free for testing it.
