Product is good. It takes about 4 min to make a cup of coffee. Starts off slow but pour picks up. Note: the product does make HOT coffee & eventually cools down by pouring over the ice. So, you will see the ice melt while brewing. It doesn’t make the coffee taste watered down. I use about a scoop & 1/2 full of medium ground coffee. Overall, I’d recommend.
So far it looks like dark rich coffee on Bold Mode but it takes about 18 minutes. It not forty-five minutes so that is plus. I waiting for it to cool down. I did it with regular tap water but I will try again with cold water from the refrigerator after I finally try it. I let it cool down for forty minutes in the refrigerator after I made a brew with a 1Zepresso X Pro at 140 notches. The grinder is fairly new. I did it to full capacity of grounds. I did bold brew. It surprisingly tangy and fruity using eight o'clock whole bean original. I will try refrigerator cold water next time bold brew. It makes the taste Clean, crisp and fruity. I suppose it could be a tad weak on Bold but the favor is tasty. Item lid refused to be shut so I had to return. The machine's lid did not want to go on right so I returned it.
**Update about a year later** This coffee maker makes the hottest coffee, so I love that. About 6 months ago we would wake up to a puddle of water on the floor. The tank seems to leak for the coffee pod water tank. Really wish I would have stuck with my Keurig. Never had this problem with them. I was very hopeful for this coffee maker. It makes the hottest coffee I have ever had and I love that. I don't like anything else. We mostly use pods and it leaks where the pods go in. I was willing to overlook that but we have not even had it a year and it's causing more issues that it is work. I paid well over $300 for this and I'm not impressed.
We have a love hate relationship with this machine. For the sake of brevity, we’ve had this for going on 3 months now, and we’ve had pretty ok coffee with it, really not good coffee with it, and LOTS of mess. The pictures are below to show what I won’t address through writing. The comments about temperature are spot on, this machine does not steam the milk to any right temperature. There is also no way to regulate it… which is critical for making cappuccinos or lattes. The froth adjuster simply adjusts the amount of foam, when it wants to work. The frother (pitcher?) assembly is the other kill joy of this machine. Be prepared for the smell of old milk, regardless of how well you clean it. We have learned to know it ends up smelling bad. In my opinion, simply having a foam frother that you then remove and self pour would significantly increase the value of this product! And the frother also doesn’t regulate the AMOUNT of milk, and there is no sensor to prevent overflows. It relies entirely on the amount you put into the pitcher, and max will most certainly cause a mess. The espresso side is where this machine shines. It comes with 1 and 2 shot portafilter inserts, tamp and scoop, and successfully pulls shots like a champ. It will give you a genuine shot, of course with the correct espresso ground. Please do your research on shot prep, as the directions are somewhat lacking. While the espresso side shines, the entirety of the frothing assembly makes this machine generally problematic. I recommend either spending more on a reputable brand, or purchasing a separate espresso and milk frother, as your results will be much greater than you’ll get with this product. If convenience is extremely important to you and you are willing to endure the issues stated, you would enjoy this machine. That’s the two star rating, it is convenient and brews an ok latte/cappuccino when it does work. Thanks for reading. See pictures below.
This little brewer is VERY lightweight and easy to use. I grind my own beans so set it to a coarser grind and fill the brew basket, which is essentially the size of a kpod. Pop it in the top, fill up the water (you can see through the side how much you have in there), and click either the hot or cold brew- easy peasy. It brews a cup of coffee in about 3 minutes. The machine is quiet and cleans up with ease. It’s a great item for when you need a quick cup of joe and don’t want to make a whole pot or wait for cold brew to finish its process over the course of many hours. That being said, the hot coffee tastes good and brews very dark, which can be altered by how much coffee you use. The cold brew isn’t quite as good because I believe a good cold brew takes time. But in a pinch this works. My two complaints: The space to put the mug is not very tall, which eliminates all my to-go mugs. So no matter what, I have to use a regular mug to hold the coffee then pour into the cup I actually prefer to use in that moment. The second thing is that it’s kinda messy when it’s brewing. Little drops of coffee kinda spray out. It’s not that bad, but noticeable. A taller mug would eliminate that but obviously, the space won’t allow for one. Overall, it does the job and quickly. Just wish I could get a taller mug under there.
The glass jar itself is great! Doesn’t leak at the nozzle, very sturdy BUT THE LID is so cheap and flimsy it caught the filter on the inside and is now stuck . The filter inside gets wobbly once you fill with water and leans to the sides making it hard to screw the lid closed . Tried to close to the lid and it caught the filter and is now jammed ! Tried all sorts of ways to open or even looses the lid but we realized we started to dent the lid and stopped . Really excited for this but now I’m frustrated and realized the only way to open the lid is to damage it .
I never knew how much better freshly ground coffee was than pre ground store bought was. This coffee maker/grinder is the next best thing to sliced bread. Everyone that comes over comments how great our coffee taste and how nice our coffee machine is. It is so easy to use and has everything you need for a perfect cup of Joe. Check out the video I posted. It’s that easy.
Product works great until around two years. Then I would start noticing coffee wouldn’t stay hot and sometimes the GFI would trip and a small amount of liquid would be in the plug end. Both died the same way. If your a daily user like me, try to find something more robust. I’m trying a different brand this time
This had all the features we were looking for but the ability to hook to water supply. When we received we were surprised how small the tank is, needed to refill after 4 cups. Plus had to move the machine out from under the cabinet to get the tank out. We ordered the kit to connect to a water supply from PureSec on coffeemakers.us.com. Installed it without using the float just the supply valve, so far no problems. We have figured out it takes 15 seconds to fill the container since you can't see it when it is installed in the maker.
I recently started drinking cold brew coffee shortly after March. I had originally purchased a cold brew kit from Goodwill which consisted of a small glass pitcher and a filtered column in which to pour coffee grounds. I liked the way the coffee came out when using that set up, but since I like to try new things I purchased this when I was at T.J.Maxx because it was on clearance for $3. I have used it once and used the settings that is the favorite of the employees of the manufacturer oh, and that produced too bitter about coffee for me.. The coffee grounds that I'm using are the Kroger Brand donut shop in the red Box. I haven't used this a second time because I can't seem to get the water out from between the clear part that you pour the water in and the bottom section that helps control the drip. I am afraid to remove the bottom plastic part has the instructions don't mention anything about it. It kind of grosses me out that this water is stuck in here. I think I'm just going to stick with my original set up.
This espresso machine is great quality for the price. It's simple, compact and very easy to use. Functions as it's supposed to. In fact, it functions better than I was expecting. Of course there are more expensive options available, but if you're looking for an inexpensive good quality espresso machine, then I'd definitely recommend this one.
I have had this unit since September & thus far, the unit backs up as shown in the photo after every 3-4 uses. I am only able to attempt to brew up to 10 cups max as the coffee pot can not handle anymore than that. And after it backs up like this, the cleaning process is lengthy as the entire unit has coffee grounds all throughout. I would never recommend this product, it is a waste of money & I regret purchasing it!
This is my first iced coffee maker and I love being able to make iced coffee. And when it works, it’s great. Love it! But it does have issues. This picture is what happened when I brewed 12 oz. of iced coffee. Typically, 12 oz will fill this mug to the top of the handle, but sometimes it does this! I just lifted the handle, closed it, and brewed an 8 oz cup on top of it and it was fine. To be clear for those who don’t know, you are supposed to fill your cup with ice, and the ice is supposed to partly melt when it brews. It only brews 6 oz of coffee for a 12 oz cup; the melted ice cubes make up the other 6 oz. If desired, you can add more ice at the end. (In this instance, it actually only brewed 2 oz. when I selected 12 oz.) EDIT: I did some troubleshooting. I unplugged it and can’t remember if there was something else I did, but I think it only happened one more time. But again, the fix is super easy. I just run it again at a smaller ounce setting. No biggie. I still love it.
this is a very small, simple item that has turned my coffee experience upside down. Beans are readily available on line and relatively cheap to purchase. The process of roasting them with this item is incredibly easy, well documented and instructed and satisfying. It will only do medium and dark roast but who needs that light roast stuff anyway...lol. It takes surprisingly little time to roast up a batch of beans. It does not roast up large amounts at one time, but then if the idea is the get fresh roasted, then that is fine as well. It also allows for experimenting with been types, roast lengths, and even some flavoring fun. And the aroma that drifts throughout the house is amazing. I don't know what I did without this. totally sold on this.
No issues, no complaints …works great, makes a great cup or pot of coffee, and even looks great and doesn’t take up much space. Win, win!
