I love this infuser cooler. I use it to infuse fruit overnight. In the morning I empty the fruit out of the stainless still cup. You can leave the cup in or out. The lid that covers it locks into place. You have to be careful when pouring or it will flow through the outer rim and not just the spout. The one thing I don't like is how the large lid rim is covered in openings so when it's in the fridge there is no way to completely cut off the air flow into the container. Usually with pitchers that have a lid and spout there is only one or two openings and the rest of the rim is solid. I added a photo to explain what I mean because it's hard to explain. I love that this is made of glass and stainless steel as healthy materials. The plastic handle is really sturdy. I like that it can be used for many things- fruit infused water, tea, coffee. I want another one to go with it to have more drink options. I love it and recommend it to anyone.
I LOVE this electric cold brew coffee maker. It is worth every penny! I bought this in May of 2023 (pics and vid from May 14, 23) and today it is still going strong. No issues or problems with it at all. I think it's important to say to READ ALL of the instructions prior to use because some people don't (I don't understand that but I live with someone who's like that soooo...yeah, read the darn instructions!) It is super easy to use and clean. In fact I am purchasing a 2nd one just to have down the road and a 3rd one for a family member who loves iced coffee as much as I do :-D I'm was going to post another video on the cleaning process but apparently I can only post one video (but again, easy if you just follow instructions and be methodical about the process) Bottom line, don't rush it. Enjoy the process of learning how to use it the first couple times and have a routine in which you prepare, clean and make your cup of iced goodness! Now I can do it blindfolded without missing a beat lol I'd give it 10 stars if I could and no I am not paid to write this review~
You really can’t get the feeling for the saga of hunting for a Christmas coffee maker that would let my wife have a cup of fresh brewed decaf whenever she wanted unless you also read my review of the Keurig K-Duo. I monopolized the existing drip brewer, making my six cups of regular coffee each day, leaving her to use a press pot to make the two or three cups she might consume in a week. Long story short, I sent the K-Duo back (it appeared to be defective) and replaced it with the Cuisinart. In all fairness I must say that I already was using a Cuisinart drip brewer that looks and works much like the drip half of the Cuisinart duo. I was concerned about not ordering from Keurig, the company that pioneered the K-Cup technology. To my surprise, the Cuisinart K-Cup unit works very well. Unlike the Keurig which used a single water source to both brew multiple cups and single K-Cups, the Cuisinart has a separate, 40 ounce water capsule for the single cup brewer, and none for the drip brewer. To make drip coffee, you fill the carafe to the desired level, lift the basket lid, and pour water into the well. (A gauge on the side lets you know just how many cups are in the well.) This is similar to the Cuisinart I was replacing. It’s simple and doesn’t deplete the one cup reservoir, as happens with regular use of the brew side of the Keurig. The unit is taller (14.5 inches as compared with 13.0), but narrower all around (about ten inches square). Tom my eye it is more petit and, with it’s stainless steel, more attractive that the massive looking Keurig. But the real test was in whether it could brew a hot cup of brewed coffee. It passed with flying colors registering 195 degrees on two different thermometers. The coffee was hot, even after adding cream, and delicious. UPDATE: I have now made four pots of brewed coffee with this unit. The coffee tis hot and astes great. I used the Bold setting today and things were even better. My wife has made a couple of cups using the K-Cup single cup brew unit. The coffee was good. She has even put her press pot and thermos away. Visually the unit is much smaller and much more attractive than the K-Duo was. We have found none of the problems some other folks had with leaks and splashes from the single brew side. All in all, this seems like a great coffee maker that allows for a lot of flexibility in its use.
See attached photos. The piece broke while closing the lid to brew a pod. Save your money and buy something well made. Not worth $30.00 for 1 month's use.
I've used Keurig single cup coffee makers since the first one came out years ago. But, recent models have left me greatly disappointed. Based on reviews, I finally made the jump to Cuisinart and this model has met my expectations! I haven't had it long enough to assess longevity, but the single cup coffee maker is quick, relatively quiet, and produces a good, hot cup of coffee. It easily fits my 16 oz travel mug and the drip tray removes adding even more clearance for a bigger mug. (See pic - with/without tray) Having the carafe and single cup combined is really convenient too. I use the carafe mainly for gatherings and would typically have to store my carafe and then pull it out of storage for get togethers. While I don't use the carafe daily, I use it more often now because it's right in front of me instead of in storage, and I'm very happy with the performance and flavor! Cons One con is the volume of the water held in the single cup reservoir. Depending on your frequency of use, you may be refilling often. On the pro side, the frequent filling keeps the water fresh (and is no different than filling your carafe each time you make a pot of coffee). The reservoir is located on the back of the unit. I haven't found that to be a problem as it slips on and off so easily. That said, if you place the product in a tight spot, you will need room to pull the unit forward to access the reservoir. Also, as you can see from my pictures, the reservoir is not completely empty before you are required to add more water. (see pic for light and water still in reservoir) The single cup maker produced some minor micro spatters on the cupboard but I took the advice of another reviewer and put a small dish to raise up my coffee cup. (see pic) Cuisinart needs to build the capability to elevate the cup on future models. My final con is with lifting the lid to place the k-cup. I have good clearance under my cupboards but the top still doesn't open all the way unless I pull it out. (see pic - under cupboard and pulled forward) I've learned to worked with the limited opening, but if you don't have a lot of clearance under your cupboard, you'll be pulling the unit out to place your k-cups every time. However, it's worth the trade off to be able to fit a travel mug under the single cup dispenser. I'm very happy with this product! Update Nov 2022: I've had this unit two years now. Works as well as the day I bought it. I do use filtered water. I've also been using a reusable single cup insert/filter so that I can use fresh ground beans. I've gone through two over the past two years. Where the lid attaches is a stress point that weakens over time and eventually breaks off the cup. Aside from that, my only complaint has been the spatter when using the single cup. But, a coffee maker that is quiet, fast, provides a hot temperature and has longevity is worth dealing with the spatter.
Works great! Super fast because it has a reservoir of hot water. It takes me 4 minutes for half a pot. Price is good.
Grinder makes a mess. Cover with a paper piece to avoid a mess. A lot of money for a messy grinder. Disappointed.
I got the 12 oz version. Very nice and very sturdy. Page one, line one describes my disappointment. This item is described as a coffee maker however one is advised to pre boil your water. I guess it won't cook small portions of pasta either. I did decide to keep it, as it lends an air of Elegance and simplicity to the van.
Wow! Very very impressed with this! I'm not a huge fan of espresso, but this little machine makes both coffee and espresso! I have it down to make two cycles for a cup of coffee with the same grounds. Make sure to pour the first into a cup so not to overflow. Coffee is delicious and not having to plug in to an outlet, huge plus! Perfect for travel and camping. I opened a K-cup and used the grounds from that to make my coffee! Awesome machine!
Doesn't do a great job at not leaking out the pot. poor design and now the hot plate is peeling. contacted braun for a replacement....well see how this goes since its still under warranty
I broke the carafe on my 5 year old Black & Decker Mill & Brew workhorse and decided it was time to replace it. My first choice was to purchase the same model but unfortunately it is out of stock. I spent hours searching for a white Grind & Brew Coffee Maker and chose the Cuisinart DGB-850W 10-Cup Grind & Brew. My first picture shows it next to my old model. The design in my opinion is attractively sophisticated. I really like the clean look. It narrow taking up less counter space. It is taller than most machines so I had to make sure I had enough clearance. When in use I have to pull it forward which is not a problem for me. The stainless steel thermal carafe is also a positive feature for me. I usually transfer my coffee to a separate carafe. This allows me to save counter space. The opening of the carafe is too small to fit my petite hand in to clean. I compromise with a baby bottle brush. The instructions state that the hopper holds up to 1/2 pound of coffee beans. I used less -- only 1/4 pound of coffee beans. I followed the instructions carefully. The grounding process is very loud but I can live with that. The brewing time took a lot longer than my old B&D model --about 8 minutes. I can live with that too. Here is where I ran in difficulty. First time using it. I filled the reservoir careful not to exceed the water line. Poured my 1/4 pound of beans into the hopper. Set the cover properly. Set the grind settings and pushed the button to start the process. The grinder started and seemed to run a long time. Once completed the machine stopped. The brewing process would NOT start. Ultimately I reset the unit but this time turned off the grinder since this was already done. The brewing process was done in about 8 minutes. When I removed the carafe I noticed that grounds were on the top of the carafe, in the carafe housing, and around the hot plate. See the pictures. When I opened the ground basket housing I found grounds on top of the basket lid and on the door hinge housing. The picture of this was taken after I had cleaned some of the grinds away. This is very difficult to clean since the door cannot be removed. I had to use a butter knife wrapped with a thin layer of paper towel to remove all of the grounds. The clean up process took me 15-20 minutes. I really wanted this to work for me and was not ready to give up. I re-read the material to eliminate human error. I made sure the basket handle was facing the correct direction. Second attempt. The machine would not start the grind process. Instead it gave me an "Empty" error. I opened an closed every component. Yes the water tank was filled to the 10 Cup line. I checked for residue as well. I powered it off and then on after 5 minutes. The machine cycled from grind to brew! I has hopeful. Unfortunately the grounds were on the top of the carafe, the upper and back of carafe housing. When I opened the coffee basket housing, I found coffee grounds on top the basket cover and on the door hinge. Again it was mess to clean. The last 2 pictures were after I had already started clean up. I really wanted this machine to work for me. So I gave it a third try. It was another messy clean up. I admitted defeat and returned it. What a disappointment. A few suggestions to the manufacturer. Make it so the door hinge is removable for clean up. Re-evaluate the coffee basket lid. The grinds should transfer directly into the basket and nowhere else. I would really like to hear from others who had similar challenges and how they overcame them.
This is the best pour over coffee maker/pot available, multiple filter options, uses any grind/roast of coffee, can easily be kept warm and cleans up after use very easily, totally a 5 star worthy item.
First of all I purchased a refurbished version of this coffee maker. My first concern was the water temperature which it never came close . Coffee brewing temperature should be between 195-205 degrees. The coffee makers it self is compact and well laid out. Easy to use. It just couldn't produce a flavorful cup of coffee
The carafe with this is magical. Coffee stays acceptable levels of warmth all day. It’s smaller than my last coffee pot in counter space. I love it and would buy it ten times over but I don’t think I’ll need to.
