This BUNN GRB Velocity Brew 10-Cup Home Coffee Brewer is definitely different from any other coffee maker we have used. I read through multiple reviews and took a leap of faith with the purchase. So far, so good. Read the reviews, instructions, and hints, which were so helpful. Since this is used a lot in commercial locations, I understand why the burner plate needs to remain on constantly, to keep coffee hot. But for home use, an automatic timer cutoff would be so nice. The burner plate also should hold the coffee at a hotter temperature. Like our previous makes of coffeepots, we have to 'nuke' our coffee for a few seconds in the microwave to get it hot enough for our liking. We also don't like having the two switches on 24/7 since we only drink coffee in the morning. Our solution is to turn them both off after the last cup, so the pot is off the remainder of the day. Then when we prepare the coffee the night before, in preparation for the next morning, we turn the side switch on, so the reservoir water heats up during the night, keep the front water lid up until morning, so brewing is held off. In the morning, close the water lid and turn the burner switch on and 4 minutes later, coffee is ready. Thats a fast brew!

Starting out liking it a lot. With a cold pot serve temp is 180 -185F, with a hot pot 190-195F. With the #4 cone filter it allows for me to get more coffee in my brew. I like my coffee strong at about 38g coffee to 600ml water. My pot does not leak or drip right after pouring. In case you are wondering the 5 cup mark for the water is 750ml and each cup is 150ml. As soon as it arrived I unboxed, loaded a filter, and started brewing cold filtered tap water with a cold pot. After measuring the results poured out the water and added new cold filtered water. Then brewed 3 more cycles without grounds measuring the results with a hot starting pot and basically cleaning the unit also. Once done I brewed two 4 cup pots about 3 hours apart thoroughly enjoying them, all stats were consistent with the above numbers. A point to be aware of is the shower head will have some condensate water in it after a brew that ,at least in mine, did not drip out. I had to tip it forward and give it alittle shake to get it to drip out. This is likely not an issue for those with somewhat dry environments and use clean water but otherwise a good idea to get that out each time. Will update... ...a few days later 3/13/22 The carafe is the only real problem with it's retention and the thermal ability is low quality in general. My Yeti travel mug is much better. The reason I picked a thermal carafe brewer was because I did not want a hot plate under the carafe. So I am switching to a glass carafe. I have a Hario style 700ml borosilicate glass server which works but not great. I have 2 more on order I will picture once I test them. Will update... 10-07-22 Sorry I can't really help with the glass carafe since what I ended up using is not being sold anymore. But I have discoverd why some have rust issues. It is directly connected to over filling the water reservoir. As soon as you get about 4mm over the 5 cup MAX mark. Water will slowly leak into the center tube with the hot water line heading to the showerhead over the basket. Not into the hot line but around it leading right down to the heater coil. I noticed this the first time I decalcified the unit. Becuase I over filled it by just enough to see the drips going down the center tube. Mine leaked enough to puddle under it but if the over fill was not as much I could see the inside getting wet but not puddling. Then just rusting over time. Not a defect as long as you follow the directions. Other than finding this the experince with the unit has been great and I am happy with the purchase and suggest it to others. 03-08-23 I found an ok glass carafe but it does not work with the original basket. I bought the Technivorm 13192 Manual Brew Basket. Which also uses the same filter but adds the manual flow control. It is now the best steep and release single cup brewer. My single cup starts with 400gm of water and 21gm-23gm of coffee. I also run it in the pre-infusion mode(blinking light). Since it is still working like a champ with no rust I can find and it lets me brew what I like. I have bumped it up to a full 5 stars. Compared to other 5 cup brewers. • What I like and dislike about this coffee maker: Things I like: - good price - cool look - doesn't take up much counter space - fast brewing - makes great ice coffee - black color hides coffee stains well Things I don't like - the reusable filter let coffee ground get through to your cup. Luckily, I can use 4-cup paper filter which fits nicely in the basket instead of the reusable. - coffee splashing out if use 8-oz mug creating a mess. I have to use a 16-oz tall cup to catch the dripping. - the reusable tumbler is made of plastic and not good for brewing hot coffee As the results, I gave this Mr. Coffee Iced Coffee Maker 3 stars.

My Keurig showed up in a Farberware Coffee Maker box. Keurig was wrapped in a bag and had water all over it. We'll see if it works, not impressed so far.

  • This Sur La Table kitchen essentials espresso machine is just alright. It's very easy to set up and operate. The machine is mostly made of plastic and some of the parts feel a little cheap. The milk frother can't be used independently and it doesn't heat up well which means the cappuccino and latte don't come out hot so they need reheating. The espresso shots brew fast and the buttons can be customized to measure out the exact amount you want which is pretty cool. Overall this espresso machine works good, it's a good value and a good starter machine but it's lacking in some areas.

DO NOT BUY! We have had our machine for almost two years and for the most of those two years it constantly errors out!

Went to look for brewing ratios at their website but their servers been bought by porn site... but besides that it's OK. I ended up buying a reusable filter.

Literally just bought this and was so excited to use it based on the reviews here, but there appears to be mold right as I opened the coffee machine. I’m so upset! Makes me wonder if this was used or not…

  • Description and pictures show travel mug but as my picture shows their "mug" is not standard size. Won't even hold a #2 filter

  • I came across this new coffee dripper and fell in love with it immediately after the first use. I have been using coffee drippers for so long that I have gone through several Hario drippers, big and small. Hario is pretty much the benchmark for ceramic coffee drippers. So my review will focus on the comparison between Blue Brew and Hario brands. I actually purchased both 2-cup and 4-cup drippers and compared them with the Hario drippers I already had. The observation was pretty much the same. 1. Material: I believe both are porcelain. But Blue Brew looks a few shades brighter. (See Photo). It’s almost as white as a bone china cup I was using. (Another Photo) If you are into pottery, you’d guess the Blue Brew was made of better quality kaolin clay. The Blue Brew also was a little thicker than the Hario, as I measured at the rim. That made me feel the Blue Brew was heavier and sturdier in hand. But actually they both weighed about the same. 2. Easy to use: Both brands actually are very similar in size, shape, and weight. Both look very solid and easy to use. I would say it’s a tie! 3. Heat Retention: In theory, the thicker dripper is preferable because it retains the heat just like a good thick espresso cup. The Blue Brew dripper appears to be a bit thicker. However, the difference in practical use remains to be seen. 4. Design: The beautiful cornflower design pattern and the circular color rings make the Blue Brew coffee dripper stand out. The pastel blue series is just poetic to me. Or you can call it a piece of art! 5. Price: At the time of my purchase with coffeemakers.us.com Prime, Hario cost almost twice as much as the Blue Brew counter parts. 6. Package: The Blue Brew drippers came in beautiful, you guess what, BLUE gift boxes. I would not go as far as saying they were Tiffany boxes, but very close. I have planed to purchase a few more Blue Brew Ceramic Coffee Drippers as holiday gifts. I am sure all I family and friends will love it.

  • The split started small now it’s just falling apart. Not a good product probably because of design flaw

Bought this because the Mr. Coffee finally broke after 8 years of usage, yet to find out after taking it apart that its water container and heating part were made of aluminum. Too late. We are about one week into using this Bunn machine. Very satisfied with the quality and convenience it provides. However, the water came out from the machine was only at 180 F right after it finished heating. Read another review mentioning that the thermostat probe may need to be adjusted to not touching any surface inside the water tank so that it can detect the temperature correctly. I took the machine apart, made sure the thermostat dial was at the max position. Then I opened up the top and took away the fill basin, then took out the thermo probe and adjusted it, then put it back in. Right after this was done, the water reaches to 200 F when it finished heating, which was the temperature stated in the user manual. This is the same temperature that I measured in the water of an electric kettle as soon as it stops heating. The temperature measure in the draining water was 190 F, which is reasonable as the water travels through the long pipe into the funnel before draining out. BTW, taking this machine apart is so easy. And I can proof that all parts are stainless steel other than the silicon seal holding the thermo probe, but it doesn't touches the water. We use this machine not only for coffee, but it also serves as a hot water source whenever we need it. I bought an orange metal funnel and a black metal funnel, so I can use the black one for coffee and the orange one for draining hot water. It's so convenient to always have hot water in a second.

  • I really enjoy coffee and have tried many different types including french press but never pour-over. This carafe and stainless filter is minimalist in design and so clean and elegant looking. Most importantly, this makes a beautiful cup of coffee as this pour over method allows for the coffee to bloom for the perfect taste and aroma. There is a learning curve to getting the perfect brew, but there is no such thing as a bad cup of coffee if you use good coffee to start with and measure out the grounds accordingly. I researched a little about how to add the hot water, like a barista, and look forward to practicing and practicing!

UPDATE!! This morning it burnt up from under the heating element. It damaged our counter. I'm throwing it away... pervious review: The grinder is a nusance and can't be removed. The grinder takes up too much space and makes it hard to fill the reservoir, the pot insists we choose "no grind" "caraf" before brewing. The grinder is all steamed up in there and we won't use it, it's wet, messy, in the way and not helpful. The basket is a bit difficult too. Expected it to be easier to use. Otherwise we like it ok

Warranty is very misleading as it only covers internal parts, not the cheap plastic parts that are needed to brew and clearly designed to break so the company can sell you replacement parts and then charge you for shipping. I have been using this brewer for a little over a year and the basket holder snapped due to its cheap construction.
