I have the glass carafe version of this coffee maker and for the past 2 years I have been very happy with it. It consistently makes a decent pot of coffee and I appreciate the various temperature and flavor settings. I like strong coffee so for me that means xhot and bold. Yesterday I broke the carafe and I could not find a replacement carafe anywhere. When I called Cuisinart customer service said the replacement carafes would not be available for six weeks and that "No, a carafe from any other Cuisinart coffee maker would not work because mine was an 8 cup carafe not a 10 or 12 cup carafe. I borrowed my sisters Cuisinart 12 cup carafe just to see it would would work and it worked like a charm. The only difference between the 8 cup carafe and the 12 cup carafe is the shape of the carafe. The bottom (that fits into the warmer) is the same size, the height is the same, and the top part of the lid is the same. So if you need a replacement carafe and can not find an 8 cup one the 12 cup works just fine.
I wouldn’t say this product was used. Or maybe it was. However it looks like a gravel residue is on the bottom of the inside of this jar. I just opened it from the package. The dusty residue was all over. My husband tried to get me to just wash it. But I couldn’t get over it and it would bother me.
This is a great french press made with Borosilicate glass and stainless steel parts. It is virtually maintenance-free thanks to these durable parts. The dual steel mesh filter does a great job filtering all but the finest of the coffee grinds which is inherently part of drinking from a french press brew. This addition is rather subtle, adding body and richness to your coffee without bitterness. Lastly, the included manual provides a good set of instructions including the size of the coffee grinds. I'd recommend this press to others based on its functionality and price (as of Nov. 2023).
This machine brews delicious coffee every time, and the reusable filter is such a great bonus. It’s super easy to use, and the water level indicator is really helpful!
This is a great little machine. Makes true crema like more expensive machines. Made in China, but the quality and workmanship is very good and it seems very sturdy. Great machine for the money. Makes a great cup of coffee - very pleasantly surprised. I would recommend purchasing this item.
This is a pretty neat little device. The user manual that comes with it is describes everything well, so it is easy to use. I like that it will use ground coffee as well as some pods. The carry bag that is included is very nice as well. I took away a star for the operation execution falling a little short of expected based on the advertisement. Watch my video to see what I mean. I’ve run two batches through this, both with cool water to test the heating aspect. It heats the water very well, but seems to struggle to push the water through the ground coffee. It comes with a tamp, so I compressed the coffee in its cup as one would with other espresso machines. I’ll have to try it more with different compressions. And I’m keen to try the pods, so I’ll update this review after that. All in all, it’s cool. If you’re looking for another way to make espresso (or make it camping) then this is worth a go.
I love so much about this West Bend drip coffee maker, but there is a single, very important issue I have with it. I have two coffee makers at the moment, but neither heats the water to the recommended temperature for brewing. Both fall short of the 195-205 degrees F that is optimal. I ordered this coffee maker hoping it would produce the heat I was seeking, but I found it to heat to 170-175 degrees, both immediately after brewing and in the keep warm phase. It makes a nice cup or hot or iced coffee, and has a lot of great features, but I was looking for it to bring the heat. I do like almost everything else about the machine, so if you are okay with that temperature, this may be the one for you. It is simple and intuitive, so it would be a great coffee maker for a guest suite or a rental unit. It is relatively small, light, attractive and inexpensive. (The price was reduced after I ordered this one, and it is a good deal.) This 12 cup coffee maker has a 1-4 cup setting, as well as an option to place a silicone mat on the warming plate to make iced coffee or tea in smaller quantities (6 cups maximum). It keeps the coffee warm and shuts off automatically after 2 hours. There is a delayed start option so your coffee can be ready for you in the morning when you get up. Unlike my other coffee makers, this one does not have a charcoal water filter. If you are using filtered water, this will save you the effort and additional expense of purchasing those little filters and inserting them when you clean the system. The strength can be set for mild, medium or bold brew, and you can pull out the carafe for a cup mid-brew without causing spillage. The pot and handle are light and ergonomic, and the spout pours without dripping. There is even a reminder alert to let you know when to clean the coffee maker, generally after about 90 carafes, but the booklet also gives estimates on when cleaning will be needed based on the hardness of your water. The warming platform on my last coffee maker rusted. Although it did not interfere with the brewing, this was unsightly and caused some concern about the safety of the machine. I had read reviews that noted the problem, but bought the item anyway. I will be watching the plate on this West Bend coffee maker to see if that problem occurs with this brand. At this point, I will just have to wait and see. I have yet to find a way to easily remove the lid on the pot for cleaning/placing in the dishwasher. It flips up and down easily, but I like to take it all apart for cleaning. This might be a great way to be sure the lid is not lost accidentally, again, a good feature if you are placing this in a vacation rental unit, but I will keep looking for a way to easily separate the parts. I really love almost everything about this coffee maker except I wish it produced more heat. If that is not an issue for you, this is a fantastic machine. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a unit to place in a vacation rental or guest suite.
I love Fellow Aiden's coffee machine! It has to be the best coffee I tried at home or the coffee shop! Even my mom, who couldn’t find happiness in coffee since moving from another country, finally said she had a good cup of coffee! It has a guided brew button, that gives you detailed instructions on how to make the best cup of coffee with the profile, bloom, amount of water, and even altitude! You can create different profiles with names, and it will memorize your preferences. And you can schedule your brew in advance, that helped me to wake up on time :) I love the stainless steel pot, it keeps coffee hot without burning it. And I adore the look of the machine, it’s so sleek, stylish and modern! It feels perfect in my kitchen! As a coffee lover, I’m so happy to wake up to a perfect cup of coffee every morning!
Pros: This coffee brewer works just as described. It is very user-friendly. All you have to do is pour in water, put in a K-cup, and press the on button. The machine turns off automatically once it's finished brewing, so you can walk away from it to get other things done and then come back to a finished cup of coffee and a shut-off machine. Every time I've tried it so far, it has taken 2 minutes and 45 seconds from the time I press the on button to the time the machine turns off. The compact size of the machine is a big bonus for me, too. It holds more liquid than I typically need for my coffee (it holds up to 12 oz, but I usually only use 8 oz). The amount of water you pour into the machine is the exact amount that comes out (I measured before and after), so you can measure the water level you want in your mug and then pour it out into the machine. The manufacturer recommends using cups with a maximum height of 5.5 inches, but if you remove the drip tray (which is very easy to do), you can fit a mug with a height up to about 6.25 inches under the drip spout. The drip tray holds an absolute maximum of 3 oz of liquid. Cleaning the machine is also very easy. Before using it for the first time, run it without a K-cup. Just use water. I also cleaned the removable drip spout, the rubber drip spout ring, the drip tray, and the water filter basket piece with lukewarm water and soap. I also poured warm water into the machine, closed and locked the lid, shook the machine up and down, and then poured the water out, and repeated twice more. After that, it seemed good to go. This machine is probably best for those who aren't big coffee aficionados but just enjoy a cup of coffee every now and then. You could even just use it as a water boiler to get piping hot water in just under 3 minutes. Cons: As to the safeness of the product, the product is made in China, but contains a UL serial number on the underside of the machine (see attached picture) that you can use to look up the product in the UL's database. While the item is listed in the database under "Household cooking appliances," it says that "neither the toxicity of coatings nor the physiological effects of consuming food prepared by use of these appliances has been investigated." Just something to consider before buying it. I think that for many like myself, the cheapness of the product is an advantage that outweighs the disadvantage of the safety risk, but if I could afford to shell out more money, I'd go with something with a better, stricter safety rating. Also, it is curious that the image for this product here on coffeemakers.us.com contains the FDA logo, but nowhere in the instruction manual, on the box, or on the machine does this logo also appear, which means it is likely not certified at all by the FDA. This is a rather sketchy move by the seller, and is the main reason why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Overall: Go with it if you want something cheap, effective, and easy to maintain, and if the safety risk doesn't bother you too much. Don't go with it if you have more money to spend and can buy a similar product with a better safety rating by a well-recognized, well-reputed safety standards organization.
Looks great, but the design is faulty. The coffee does not drip directly down from hole to carafe, it dribbles along the edge of the cone and carafe, but also out of the cone and down the outside (see is pool up on the edge in the pic). Looks great, and has a good weight, but the design is either off or I got a lemon.
Worked exactly for a year. Has started to leak while it makes the coffee. Very gently used thus far. I don't even move it from it's place except to clean. I suspect the plastic has given in, either bent over time or some seal broke inside. Trashing it now. Good while it lasted though. Update: Gave it 3 more tries. Placed a plate beneath to avoid the water spill over the countertop and floor. But it completely stopped working now. Trashing it again!
I use it every day now. I wanted a coffee machine that makes both coffee and frothed milk (hot and cold), and this is the best I've found so far. It's much easier to use than manual coffee makers. Since I only drink lattes, it's been a game changer for me. The coffee is great, and it saves time. Also very easy to clean a refill water.
Box came taped like it had been opened before. No packing to protect the coffee maker. Item was dusty and dirty.
Love my slim keurig! Frees up so much space and allows me to add more homey elements in the future. Wonderful and convenient for entertaining. Love the white, how quick and delicious my coffee tastes and they everybody can choose their own faves.
I just received the largest size, and I'm already brewing tea! I'm so happy with this size, I drink coffee and tea all day long, so I'm super excited that it fits a whole 50 Oz! I get about 5 standard size mugs full from this French press. It seems the glass portion is attached to the plastic handle, but I don't really mind. Very speedy delivery, just 2 days from purchase. It was packed in styrofoam to keep it safe, and good thing too because I saw the delivery man toss it in front of my door like a news paper.
