This portable espresso maker is so cool! I love the crema it makes. Definitely a must-have for a traveler who needs espresso every morning.
Update: After several brews, it happened; a leak! Thankfully I was brewing on demand and had a cup sitting ready so it filled the cup. I’ve found that my sometimes too finely ground coffee will migrate from the filter basket into the reservoir. So now I know to make sure the dispenser area is completely free from debris before brewing. I just run some hot water through a couple times and if there’s no leaking, it’s safe to set the auto-brewing. Humbug but there’s a downside to every device. I am still pleased with it. I don’t know what happened at the Cuisinart lab or testing center but they are serious about this ridiculously short cord. You will need an extension cord. I followed the setup & use instructions closely because I was concerned about the leaking. I have not experienced leaking like some reviewers but I’ve only used it three times so far. Once pre-programmed and twice brewed on demand. The coffee flavor is what you make it. It depends on the quality of your coffee beans and your measurements. And of course the clean water. The charcoal filter in the water reservoir might help? But I’m not sure yet. So far I’m happy with this coffee maker. Although a four hour keep warm time is a bit of a stretch. As usual, if you want piping hot coffee, it needs to be the 1st cup.
Love touch programmable feature for cup size and strength. Bought refurbished and looks and works like new. Purchased base pod storage drawer separately.
We love it, it’s so nice! Maybe next time we’d get a larger one, but for now 34oz is perfect, just enough for 2 medium coffee/tea cups. The glass part does not come out, or at least I couldn’t take it out, but I like it. With the previous french press I was always scared the glass will fall out lol Definitely recommend it! UPDATE: we started drinking ground coffee like we used to, and after a week I noticed it’s somehow getting stuck between the glass and plastic part, the water gathers there too, and it’s impossible to separate it and clean/dry out :((( I only wash it by hand too, didn’t want the dishwasher to ruin it too fast, but maybe that would help..
I have every coffee accessory you can think of. This is made really well. So far the thermos has not discolored or rusted (Hand wash only). The screw top is tight. The glass and rubber attachment are also leak proof. The reusable filter is amazing. It is double layered.! It has a fine metal mesh on the inside and a laser cut screen on the outside. Most only have the laser cut and I have to use a filter anyway to strain the extra sediment and bitterness. Not with this one. This is an amazing product. I originally needed something to make more than one 12 ounce portion in the AM. The other portion is for my partner that drinks it about 30 minutes later. So, the other glass carafes leave it to become cold. Not with this. It keeps it fresh and it’s 32 ounces. Not too big and not too small.
I got this to replace my Osaka filter… then I found that’s exactly what it is! I think this one is better than the original in a few ways (conical shape, filter density etc…) and have been thoroughly enjoying it as a bit of an upgrade as well. It was really only the gasket that went out on the original, btw, I still have that one!
My thing is this product state it has the colors of the cuban flag but to be honest the colors can also be for puerto rico and even Dominican Republic. As you guys can see im puerto rican so had to get the star and touch it up a bit so now it looks the way it was intended to look
Let's get this out of the way: this unit does make a great cup of coffee. When it works. It has a critical design flaw. The plastic tab that retains the filter basket has broken off twice in the way depicted in a little over a year. I'm not replacing the basket a second time, the coffee maker is getting the heave-ho into the trash. Braun has also really fallen down on ease of use. 1. At this price point, I'd expect a backlight for the digital clock. As a result, the clock is very hard to read and program. 2. Water is measured by a stepped dipstick located inside the water chamber. The water level is very hard to see, particularly if the lighting in your kitchen is from a ceiling fixture that's behind you and your head obscures the light. I've taken to keeping a flashlight on my kitchen counter. 3. You have to peer directly down into the water chamber to gauge the water level. This may prove a problem for some shorter users if the unit is on a standard-height kitchen counter that's about 36"/1m off the floor. I'm 5'7"/170cm and I have to stand on tiptoe to look down into the water chamber. Really, Braun, would a sight glass or a clear plastic window have killed you? 4. The lid of the coffee maker gets in the way when you're trying to pour water into it, and tilting the carafe to pour water slowly makes it very likely that you'll spill water on the countertop. 5. Coffee maker has an annoyatron "clean" cycle that it demands far too often and runs for far too long, with no way to simply bypass the light. I'm revising my review and deducting a star. Braun has been known for industry-leading industrial design for decades. How did they get this so wrong? I'd been a happy user of Braun coffeemakers for decades, since the '80s. The only reason I didn't buy one the last time around, was that they didn't have one with the features I wanted at a price point I was willing to pay. (Mostly, I just want a simple on/off switch; a clock/programming is nice but not needed.) When that other-brand unit needed replacing I bought this Braun after reading positive online reviews. I am disappointed.
Firstly, It doesn't come with any manual, of anything like that for this. So you'll want to come back here if you have questions. But it's also super easy to figure out, so really you don't need it. Once you have it set up, and coffee ready to go, figured out your drop per second, it's easy as 1-2-3. Definitely recommend using ice and water, taste better in my opinion, anx quicker brew. I use 20 grams water to 300 grams ice/water, and it was about 3-4 hours brew time. Great first time slow dripper, perfect for if you want to be "that guy" and have it in the office, great for college kids too.
I never used any pod coffee makers, but this Breville Nespresso coffee maker blew me away! It creates cafe shop’s quality at home! It is nice that the machine comes with a milk frother, so you can save time in the busy morning. It is quite fast to complete frothing and brew coffee. It is easy to operate the machine after reviewing the manual available in YouTube. ( QR code is in the booklet, so booklet itself is thin.) Water tank is detachable and easy to clean. Milk frother wand needs to be wiped each time after use with a damp cloth, but the wand is very hot, so you have to be careful not to touch it. The machine is a bit bigger than I expected, but I managed to find space on my kitchen counter. Overall the machine is of top-notch quality and I am quite happy with it.
Was given as a gift so cute! they loved it!😊👍🏼
Only had this for a week but after the last pot, it went back! What a mess. The freshly ground beans ended up all over the place inside and out of the gold filter basket and ended up making their way into the pot. A mouthful of grinds will ruin your morning coffee. This Cuisinart replaces a Capresso that only lasted 2 years. I am not a fan of the basket cover on this unit and can see that this is part of the problem since the grounds are all over that too. Not holding out hope for the replacement....Added pics after the last time and from another morning. Last time was 12 cups on strong and the other was 10 cups on strong.
Large size coffee maker and water heater great for any size household. The flavor of coffee brews good, there’s plenty of water capacity from single serving to multiple, and there’s a holder/lid just for single servings. It’s chic and functional which is often times a challenge with modern coffee makers without being too expensive. The timers work great and it’s easy to clean even more so than my smaller coffee maker. Definitely recommend.
I've purchased 6 of these in the past 10 years. We learned to dedicate a specific place in the upper rack in our dishwasher for it, so we're breaking them less often. That said: things happen. The threaded rod on the latest one is much shorter than the previous. This makes it very difficult to loosen the plates and filter mesh so water can get between them in the dishwasher without it falling off completely. We have a couple spares from previous years, so we're trashing this one, and using the old one. Yes, I made sure the plastic sleeve is up as far as it will go.
As the header suggest, the sift is too small for a1:8 ratio for a full quart, not a huge issue but could have been better suited, it means now that I have to make a ¾ of a quart - something I wished I knew before. Quality is good, the glass is thik, the sift is made of good size of wires and looks to last, the lid is good also - I just really dislike to buy according to the seller exaduration and get disappointed (I live away from the US and return is a hassle) I would get the "2 liter" and would adjust as needed
