Overall, really like the coffee maker. Brews good coffee and does it much faster than our older coffee maker (say about 10min to get 12 cups). Some observations based on other reviews I read prior to purchasing: - The charcoal filter not seating fully on the water outlet on the reservoir, and therefore not providing any filtering. This is absolutely true - it doesn't sit fully on the outlet, allowing water to completely bypass any filtering. Total design flaw that was likely not caught in any quality controls during prototype or testing. Doesn't bother me, I just don't use the filter. - The power cord length being really short. Some reviews say that the cord is only a foot or so long (or even shorter) requiring an extension cord. I can only speak for myself but our coffee maker's cord was plenty long. I will say, however, this was possible only after tugging on the plug end pretty hard to get the remaining cord length out of the storage area on the bottom. My guess is that people that had this problem didn't pull hard enough.
This was perfect for my small apartment. It works great and perfect for people on the go. I make hot tea and coffee as needed and it comes with the perfect size cup You can take with you.
I read all of the reviews about receiving a Classic Chemex instead of the Handblown model, but gambled on it anyway. Got a Classic Chemex. Not sure what I expected. The Classic version is roughly $50 cheaper. Had to contact coffeemakers.us.com and get a refund. Either just order the Classic version or find something else. Save your time/money and pass on this.
It's okay. Nothing really stands out as great or even above average. It's just fine. Works and does what it was made to do. Was it worth the $$$? Honestly... No. I could have purchased a coffee maker for much less that performs the same as this Braun
I’m not a coffee drinker, but wanted to try using this technique for brewed cocoa (Choffee/Crio Bru), as well as having it for when coffee-drinking guests are visiting. I was pleased that overall, it works well. I was able to brew an excellent mug of cocoa, and it worked just as well when a friend tried it out for her coffee. This dripper holds 2 cups of water, with the grounds and filter it held enough liquid to make about an average mug of brew. I was a bit frustrated when I was trying to figure out what size filter cone to buy for it, as nowhere did it say; neither on the listing nor on the packaging. I tried the #2 filter first, as it said it was for 1-4 cup coffee makers, but it was substantially too small. The #4 size filters fit perfectly. So, if someone wants to know- buy the #4 size paper filters! I will say, though, that the drain function on this is rather on the slow side. It’s possible that may be a feature rather than a glitch and I’m just unaware of that, but it took an annoyingly long time for my brew to drain down to my cup.
So I just so happen to find this Nespresso with the milk frother for for the amazing price $118! I was a little skeptical because I read it was a used machine after I purchased but for the price I am willing to take the chance. Every thing turned out great so far. They even sent some pod which I was not expecting, so bonus points there. Gave it 4 stars only because it is my first time using it and will update my review in about a month or so. But great purchase!
This cone filter is perfect for anyone that has a pour over coffee setup. I use this filter with my Mr. Coffee pour over coffee pot. Prior to this filter I was using these #2 paper filters that were absolute garbage. They didn't fit properly and it took forever, for-ev-er, for-ev-er to brew coffee. Now I have a pot of coffee brewed faster than I did with my previous drip pot. Not to mention, I think the overall taste is much better. It washes clean fairly easy. I dump what I can in the garbage, and then rinse the rest in the sink. So far I've been using it for a few weeks and have not noticed any rust pits either. I would purchase this again.
This is a fine tea maker for every day use. We had a similar one that lasted over five years before it finally quit on us. I would have rated this five stars except that the lid for the pitcher was broken upon arrival (see picture). This really stinks. I have contacted the Mr. Coffee website to see about replacing it but no response yet. I will update if things change.
I originally bought this to be more sustainable and not buy plastic jugs of coffee every week. However, this is all I use now. I have the 64oz/2 quarts. If you drink coffee daily, get the biggest size. Pros: -The mesh part is fine enough that I never have a problem with coffee grounds getting out. -Buy the handle. It is too big and heavy when full to pour one-handed without the handle. -You could buy more glass jars if it breaks or if you like to make a lot of coffee. Cons: -the mesh part is a little difficult to rinse out and clean well. -I wish it came in other colors besides blue. -With any homemade cold brew, I feel like I can never get the storebought coffee taste. Note: It did take me some research and a few batches to get the right taste for me. You have to use coarse ground beans or it will turn out very bitter. I found better results sitting on the counter for 20-24 hours than in the fridge for 24-48 hours. I also mix it with almond milk so it is not as strong.
I bought this to use during my overseas trip to India. Worked all but once and even then the hot plate wouldn't keep the coffee warm after brewing. Tried to use second time and completely dead. Power switch light turns on but that's it. No brewing no nothing. I tried everything I could to fix it but ended up being without home brewed coffee my entire trip. Very upsetting to say the least. 100% do not recommend. I threw it away because there was no point in bringing back a trash coffee maker in my check in bag. Probably won't even get refunded for it but it's whatever. Buyers beware especially if you're taking it on a long journey.
I laughed about the other reviewers who mentioned this was a pain to clean. How could it be?! Well for starters (this size at least) a sponge wand and some brushes won't fit down into the bottom of glass. And the wood and leather pieces which add such a fashionable touch are a pain to re-assemble. At least, I thought so - I could NOT get the leather tie the way it originally was. After several attempts I ended up with a square knot and a Chemex that reminded me of a dalek (see my picture in the product gallery). But ah yes the coffee! It's wonderful, just divine. I will not go back to my french press. This coffee is so pure and tasty. Just follow the instructions, brainless after a couple of times. I have my chemex clean and folder placed in it the night before, also kettle full, to help speed things up in the a.m.
Coffee was good, liked the versatility of the machine. Could be easier to clean, but after 25 days the led display began to burn out. Now ~45 days later, the rightmost minute display is almost completely gone. I contacted Braun customer support and placed a service ticket and provided photos. It’s been well over 10 days now with zero contact from them To pay over $150 for a coffee machine that has begun to falter after 25 days is inexcusable. My $30 Mr. Coffee held up strong for 4 years.
Nice espresso machine. It is a smaller unit which works perfectly for my small counter space. Came packaged nicely with easy to follow instructions. The box contents has the filter and filter basket. single and a double shot. Easy to remove water tank. The milk frothier is also easy to remove and replace. It is a bit snug to do, but it needs to be so it can work properly. There is a removable drip tray for easy rinsing and accommodates taller cups. A measuring scoop with tamper on the end. 2 o rings and a cleaning brush. Easy to clean cycle for first time use. After about my second cup of espresso I feel like I am getting the hang of using this machine. Easy to press buttons. For espresso shot you will need to be sure you have the correct size of grind. I have a bean grinder and I think I have a good grind figured out. Now I just need to learn some good recipes. This will definitely save me money in the long run. Only downside is it does not indicate the size of the porta filter. My daughter has a different machine and it takes a specific size portafilter basket. So when it is time to replace, I will need to figure out the correct size. I have read the instructions booklet several times and do not see where the size is. These filters will warp over time due to the multiple times it gets heated up, so I will just need to find the correct replacement size. The price is very reasonable. Works awesome. I recommend this machine.
Ok, first, you don't really ~neeed~ anything special to make cold brew. But if you're like me and enjoy well designed products that make things easier then this is for you. The insulated carafe is a huge deal, I start a brew when I get home from work, the next morning, I just remove the carafe, fill it the rest of the way with ice and I'm drinking perfect coffee for the rest of the day, there is still ice in the afternoon. Clean up is as easy as rinsing and setting out to dry. I can think of no downside to this product; the design and quality are way above average.
Works fine, but start leaking from the bottom after 10 months.
