This wasn't exactly what I thought it was. I thought it would brew a coffee hot like a regular coffee machine does but it just filters whatever temp water you put in through the ground coffee using a strainer/filter and it doesn't have any heating element. The bottom also doesn't stay on over the batteries. Its a good idea but needs some improvements.

  • French press is my favorite brewing technique, but I am clumsy and have small children. I have broken more French presses that I care to admit and had considered buying a metal one. However, I did not like not being able to see the coffee being brewed. I was very excited to see this plastic version which won’t break like glass but is still see-through. The handle and base are also plastic. If you want to remove the container during cleaning, you have to loosen a screw which can be done with a butter knife if you are like me and do not keep flathead screwdrivers near your sink. This French press weighs less than the glass/metal version and has a cheaper feel it. Although it may not impress anyone, I prefer a plastic container in one piece to a broken one that looks nice. I am very happy with this so far, I will be sure to update my review if it breaks or fails unexpectedly.

  • I’ve had a couple cold brew jars in the past and this one is definitely my favorite so far. Stands a little taller than a half gallon milk carton and has about the same footprint so it fits well in the fridge. Jar is heavy duty mason jar style and not thin glass as my previous ones were. Kate has measure marks if needed but I just fill it all the way up every evening for fresh cold brew in the morning. The real nice part of this is the conical shaped heavy gauge very fine mesh filter. This isn’t the typical flimsy fine mesh screen that gets all buggered up and bent really quickly. It’s a rigid fine mesh stainless wire design. That’s a great detail that I appreciate. The handled lid with the v notch spout makes for an easy smooth pour. Lid has a gasket style liner for a nice tight drip proof fit. Also comes with a nice long thin spoon to stir your grinds and get your coffee brewing. The only thing this really needs is an easy way to transfer your grinds from your grinder to the filter. Luckily I have some canning funnels on hand and they work great. Otherwise it’s a little difficult to not get grinds everywhere trying to fill. Check out my video for a visual reference on that technique. Fantastic cold brew kit. Perfect for sweet tea, ginger lemon water, cucumber water or just about any infused brew you like. Planning on picking up another one dedicated to non coffee infused beverages. I think these guys knocked cold brewing out of the park. 5 stars for making a super quality product My grading scale My ratings are based on one or more of the following characteristics. • This coffee press is solid. Way better than the glass one I already had. You can make your coffee and leave it in the press for a while without it cooling down much at all. For best results it’s good to grind your own coffee. I’ll probably never go back to a glass press. I’m glad this was invited. Super easy to clean and use. I highly recommend.

Purchased this latte maker for my hubby and me, works very well. Great value around Thanksgiving sales time. I make sure to take the frother apart and hand wash each part after using (along with the coffee filter parts). There were a handful of times the frother didn’t work properly (with dairy or nondairy milk), but then it started working again. It works most of the time with dairy milk. When I first tried using Simple Truth almond milk, it wouldn’t froth, but I used Silk almond milk this time and it did froth. May be worth trying different brands to see what works for you. I took a star off for the inconsistency of the frother.

  • This coffee machine is fantastic. It's easy to use, and makes a great cup of coffee. I stayed away from the Nespresso machines for a long time due to the high price, and espresso only options. It wasn't until the Vertuoline, that I became interested again because with this line you get coffee options as well. Man am I glad I did. The pods are a tad pricey, but it is totally worth it. The cream, the flavor, the goodness. LOL. In all seriousness, this is my 3rd "pod" type machine. I have had a Starbucks Verismo and multiple Keurig machines. The Verismo was good, however, Starbucks seemed to launch the machine with zeal, then let it die a slow death. No new machine in years, and seemed to no longer display and sell them. I was told they weren't going to keep making them. So back to Kuerig I went. The pods are better priced, but no matter the coffee type, it always seemed to be either an inconsistent cup of coffee or a weak cup, even with espresso roasted coffee pods. Then comes the hero of our story. The Nespresso Vurtuo line of makers. I have to say, I was skeptical, and not expecting a lot from another pod machine. I was wrong. It is enjoyable, and an extremely satisfying cup of coffee, and espresso as well. *A word about the broken machines in Reviews* All the negative reviews seem to be about build/ship quality in regards to the water tank. Mine was perfect on arrival and no cracks etc. I think that the problem is the design. Most people are used to "pulling" tasks up and off. This one is more of tilt off then up motion. So I think it might be easy to damage un-intentionally. I also think its a good idea to watch the Nespresso YouTube Channel about your specific machine. Its very well put together and informative.

The glass pot of this coffee maker is NOT made of tempered glass and it can easily shatter. Mine did when it simply fell over on my countertop. The seller-Avigator does NOT offer replacements, period, at any price.

Pitcher is hard cheap plastic, one drop and it'll probably crack. Do be sure to clean and wash the picture and lid before first use. There is a bit of manufacturing residue left behind. Instructions itself say to the tea maker without tea or coffee a couple of times to rid of it. After that, my 1st run of ice tea was delicious!

Best coffee pot I’ve ever owned. I read a ton of reviews. Decided to order in spite of them. The two legitimate issues people have mentioned (disregarding the ones who simply don’t understand how it works, FYI if you read the instructions it’s easy) are the pouring issue for the carafe and the splashing of grounds which do not appear to be an issue any longer. People mentioned having to ask company for an extender, per the pic I’m including it appears they have fixed that as mine has it built in to the lid of the carafe. As far as the grounds going over the edge because of how fast the coffee sprays out, I took that seriously as I was gonna search for a reusable filter. I have not used a paper one so I can’t speak to that but, I did find a filter from the Összefut store here and it works perfectly. Folks said coffee needs to be ground differently from store bought but I have not had a problem with store ground coffee using this filter and we use a whopping 5 scoops. No grounds have gone over the edge at all. Coffee is fast, very hot and clean tasting. Highly recommend this coffee maker.

I want to start this review by stating that I haven’t used a drip coffee maker in years. I am what people describe as a “coffee snob.” I grew up drinking the traditional Mr. Coffee-style drip brew that my parents were happy with and wasn’t happy with the plastic taste and lack of flavor that came with each cup, even though they always bought the “really nice” models. I can’t stand drinking coffee from restaurants or even mainstream coffee shops, as they still lack the flavor and taste that I want with my coffee. I’m also less than impressed with Keurig coffee and other single-serve brewing systems. For years, as a result of these tastes, I initially made pour-over coffee, then transitioned to the French press method as the best, richest, and full-bodied coffee that I’ve ever had, and I only use certain brands/types of coffee. It’s one of the few things I splurge on. Then I bought a house with a septic and no garbage disposal. And my coffee grounds became a Big Problem with my husband due to concerns about clogging the system – which is valid – not to mention that now we have room for guests, running out to Dunkin Donuts to get a box of coffee for them has become inconvenient, since people don’t want to wait 15 minutes for me to slowly brew them cups of coffee. All things considered, I decided I had to finally bite the bullet and procure an automatic coffee maker. I did a lot of research on the SCAA approved coffee makers since I didn’t want to compromise my taste. After reading about how the heart-attack-inducingly-expensive Technivorm requires “stirring the grinds” in order for even water dispersal (I mean, who wants to babysit the coffee if you’re getting an automatic machine? For me that totally defeats the point), I turned my attention to the second best recommended coffee maker that was far more affordable, the Bonavita. I saved up and purchased one only to find that it felt flimsy and the carafe leaked buckets, retaining liquid inside the upper lid, no matter what I did. Back to the drawing board. I looked at all of the other SCAA certified coffee makers and kept coming back to this Cuisinart PurePrecision Pour Over brewer. It looked very new, was a fairly reasonable price, and the top reviewer notes that he has compared it to the other certified coffee makers and prefers it, which gave me some reassurance. I had a bit of trepidation since there wasn’t a lot of feedback or reviews online since this model is so relatively new, but decided I would give it a shot. The design is very sleek. It looks great in our kitchen – my husband, who doesn’t drink coffee, even commented that it has become a statement piece on our counter. (Photo attached; glass foggy as it was just cleaned with hot water.) The coffee maker looks and feels sturdy, with an impressive display and simple controls that make programming it easy. You set the auto-on time and can also set an auto-off time for the heating pad beneath the glass carafe. I found it interesting that the device comes with a charcoal filter designed to improve the water’s taste should the owner not utilize a water filter on their own. As I use ZeroWater filter pitchers, I probably will not replace the filter when the time comes as I consider it unnecessary. Since other reviewers noted that the steel carafe has leaking issues, as well as the Bonavita I had tried, I chose the glass carafe. I don’t care about heat retention because I pour my coffee immediately into my Zojirushi thermos and go to work in the morning, which keeps the coffee piping hot. What matters to me is whether or not the carafe leaks when I pour from it. And this one does not. If heat retention is a concern, increasing the amount of time prior to the auto-off is probably good idea. I can say that the coffee brewed by this machine is as hot as when I boil water to French press, and I’ve been satisfied by the temperature. As I am the sole coffee drinker in my household, I make about 4 cups and use 2 scoops of coffee per cup. While this is below the recommended flavor amount for the machine (Cuisinart recommends making at least 6 cups for best flavor), I still thoroughly enjoy the coffee made. It is strong and full-bodied, rich. I have used up to coarse coffee and have no problems with it. The one thing I will note - there is almost an imperceptible burr to the flavor of the coffee with this coffee maker that is not there, is smoother, when it is prepared with the French press method, but it is so negligible a difference that it can be overlooked in favor of the time savings and ease of clean-up that comes with this machine. In conclusion, I highly recommend this coffee maker. It produces the best coffee that I have ever tasted from an automatic/drip machine and I am happy with my purchase. I am awarding this product 5 stars and, in my opinion, it is deserving of its SCAA certification. If something should happen or my satisfaction changes, I will update this review. ::UPDATE MARCH 2018:: This coffee maker still works like it is brand new. I'm still very impressed with it and still love it. I have experienced no issues with water fog or the display dimming, and I periodically clean it out by doing a vinegar/water flush until the water runs clear. I use it every day and have no regrets about my purchase. And, since apparently there is someone on this site attempting to cast doubt on this review and that of the other top reviewer, I can affirm here that I was not given a discount on this product, I was not paid to do this review, I was not asked by the company to do a review, and I have not received any subsequent discounts or perks from doing this review. I am simply a lover of coffee.

  • I have owned this product for almost a year and a half now. This makes the smoothest cold coffee and it's so simple. I corse grind a medium roast Caribou coffee. Fill the stainless steel filter to about an inch from the top. Slowly add quality water right to the top, no city chlorinated water. Put the lid on and place it in the refrigerator. I like 48 hours to really extract the flavor but 24 hours cut the mustard if you can't wait. I have a Caribou glass that has air in between to insulate and keep the coffee cold once pored. I prefer not to add ice so I retain the strong, smooth, acid free taste. It is the best cold coffee you will ever make at home. I do like hot coffee in the winter months but hot summer morning require cold brew. Friends and family that have tried my cold brew can't believe how wonderful the coffee taste. This is made of quality stuff and still looks like new after almost a year and a half. Get it before this hot summer is over!

Believe it or not, box sat in Breakfast Room till last week. Almost too much expectation. And I have had three Keurigs. Guess I thought it would UNPACK, LOAD, and DELIVER THE COFFEE!! So far okay. Have not used all features as yet.

  • I bought this for my wife for camping and road trips , she’s the only coffee drinker in the house - we used a k cup the first time we tried it out and there was a lot of coffee grounds that got through to the bottom - the second time my wife poured out the k cup into the included little filter and it worked really well - easy to use, pour hot water in the top, hit the button and in less than 30 seconds, according to my wife, you have a great tasting cup of coffee - she considers this a really good buy - it got here well packaged and fully charged- it also came with a usb charger and a nice carry pouch -

  • A few annoying things, but altogether fine. Nice size for 2 small cups in the morning. Pros: -It's not glass and doesn't shatter when I drop it in the sink while doing dishes. Woo! -It came with 4 little filters. -The two metal pieces that hold the filters can be tightened from the top AND bottom with a cool little mechanism, so the filters are always tight. This is nice. Cons: -The most annoying thing is that when you unscrew the bottom part to clean the filters and two metal parts that hold it on, it is a pain to unscrew. Since the top "knob" of the plunger also unscrews, sometimes that wants to unscrew instead of the bottom. Just a little PITA I don't love every morning. -The plunger makes an annoying loud *clank* sound when you let it slide up or down that is more annoying than other french presses in my life. Again, another unwelcome thing inthe morning. I put a rubber band under the top part of the plunger so it at least doesn't clank when it slides one way. -On mine, the "knob" of my plunger that you push down is welded crookedly (see pic). That is not a big problem, but just shoddy craftsmanship. -It doesn't insulate the coffee as well as I'd hoped. I wasn't expecting hydroflask-level insulation, but even so, it's pretty poor insulator. Nothing a towel blanket can't fix to keep your 2nd cup warm.
