I bought this French press because there was no metal in the base. I had a press years ago that worked well in the microwave. There was nothing in the description stating "to" or "not to" use a microwave to heat the water. I was not happy so I am throwing it away. And still in search one thar will work with the microwave.
I like this brewer, the coffee tastes really good and it's so much better than trying to get the strength right to poor hot coffee over ice without diluting it too much. However, the screw on lid with handle is a design flaw. You cannot remove the filter from the lid. So after making the coffee, you remove the filter, toss the grounds, rinse the filter, and put the screw on lid/handle back on the coffee bottle with the filter. It would be MUCH better if you could just remove the filter entirely and put the lid back on. So now I am looking for a glass bottle of that size to store the coffee after I've brewed it, which kind of defeats the purpose, since the bottom of the brewer is non slip. Still, the coffee is very tasty, so I'm keeping it, I doubt I can do better for the price. OK AFTER A LOT OF WORK - I did get the filter basket to come off. I'm happy now and changed my rating to 5 stars.
This was a great buy, just a few things to note- The top part is plastic and doesnt always rotate properly so make sure the seal is tight before compression. Quality of the glass is top notch, and it can be removed from the base for cleaning. Its not too heavy and makes just enough for a couple of (big) cups! Had about 6 months now and going strong. Totally worth it!
The MoccaMaster merits all the praise and hype. Expensive? Yes, about 100 Grande cups of fancy coffee at your neighborhood barista's stand. But, the freshness, flavor, quick brewing time, and consistently brewed coffee are unbeatable. A lot of coffee makers have passed through my kitchen's countertop, including French Press, single drip, fancy drip machines and a host of others claiming to have perfected the art of drip coffee making. None come close to the MoccaMaster. Handmade the old fashioned way by the Dutch, who are renown for their craftsman ship. If you've been holding out because you didn't believe a coffee maker with such a simple design could brew the best coffee you've tasted, wait no longer.
Pros: Lightweight & Easy to Carry Small & compact (can fit anywhere) Makes up to 5 cups (no wasting coffee& u will always have it fresh) Makes the coffee fast Easy to use & clean Cons: There really are no cons, I’m just sad that it doesn’t take k- cups. (Note: you will need to buy small filters) Overall, this is a well made, long lasting, product that I would definitely recommend.
I love the double option of making my own ground coffee combination or a fast and easy K-cup type. I tried two different Brands and 5 different flavors of K cups and all worked perfectly. I'm very pleased with the purchase. I also bought the Three drawers K-cups holder. Perfect match as can be seen in the pictures.
I love coffee so much that I roast it at home but due to some changing circumstances, I just don't always have time to make a pour-over and I thought this coffee maker would give me good consistent results. I used to use a grind and brew that made ok coffee by Cuisinart but it lasted a solid 7 years of intermittent use. It was becoming buggy so time to replace it. I was not wrong. This coffee maker makes great coffee. Consistently. Huge props to Bonavita too for standing behind their products! If you are taking the time to read these reviews, you know this is a great coffee maker. Gold cup and all that stuff is legitimate. Bonavita has been around for a long time, and it is a well known brand in coffee circles. So why only 3 stars? The coffee carafe is awful. If you want to pour without the lid, it will spill. Fine, I will screw on the lid. The worst part, however, was that after less than 6 months, the internal seal started leaking into the vacuum cavity. I filled out the warranty form on the Bonavita website, received a response within a week, and a new thermal carafe shortly after. Awesome! Right around the same time, the coffee maker stopped its cycle half-way. It would complete it after I restarted it. I read some of the reviews stating the same before buying it but quickly dismissed them thinking it was user error. I thought everyone that was complaining about the coffee maker stopping half way were experiencing this issue because they were not descaling. Descale, descale, descale. Got it. When I started experiencing the same issue, I started worrying because I descale religiously. Another warranty form fill, another quick response, and a replacement unit shortly after. Great! What isn't great is that I don't know how long this will last and getting a new coffee maker through a warranty form seems like this is not what I was hoping it is. I took the coffee maker apart and didn't see anything too worrisome with the exception of one thing. Although I'm not a huge fan of the plastic at the bottom of the heating element, that's not it. I didn't see any rust or anything leading to believe there was a leak somewhere either. What is worrisome is that the control board was overheating in some areas. I can only guess that the temperature might have fried the relay. Nothing else looks "bad" per se. I am hoping this is just a QC issue and won't have to fill out another warranty form.
I bought this about two months ago. Keeps coffee a lot warmer than other full glass pour overs. However, it leaks when you pour if you don't screw the top on EXTREMELY tight. Once the lid is on tight enough, it's extremely hard to get off to take apart to wash. Was annoying but okay until the glass top broke apart in my hand trying to unscrew it. Disappointed that this one issue has made the coffee maker unusable.
This espresso/cappuccino maker with milk steamer allows you to make espresso, latte, cappuccino and Americano coffee. The froth can be made with milk or cream and is like you would get from a barista. It heats up very quickly when you turn it on and it will self turn off after awhile if you forget. It comes with three different shot filters for single shot, double shot and an ESE pod filter. ESE pod filter is easier to use and clean. The milk frothing system detaches easily from the machine. I take if off and store it in the refrigerator until my next use. That way I have the milk all ready to go. It's very easy to re-attach. I highly recommend this espresso, cappuccino machine. I love mine!
This review is for the SHARDOR 3 in 1 Single Serve Coffee Maker. This machine works great for Keurig pods. The ground coffee attachment works as expected as well. My main complaint is that the machine is rather slow at heating up the water. To heat up the water, it takes over 2 minutes. In addition, the directions of the machine state that the machine should be unplugged when not in use, which seemingly defeats the purpose of the standby mode. Otherwise, using the machine seems to be really straightforward. I’ve been using this coffee maker every morning and haven’t noticed any difference in the taste of my coffee compared to the name-brand machines I’ve used in the past.
This product has been great. I make my own coldbrew coffee. I was using a much smaller unit that would only fit one bottle of my 28oz. coldbrew witch meant I had to clean the grounds out each time I used it. However I wanted to filter large batches of my brew so I could just grab and go from the fridge. I use 28oz. Gatorade bottles that I saved, No heat to brew (fridge to chill) and no paper filters, recycled single use plastic bottles. With this Press I'm able to filter about 5-6 bottles of my brew with out washing out the grinds. The fridge in the picture is my basement coffee fridge( I drink a lot of coffee). Because of this French press and the one I used before. I've reused these plastic bottles hundreds of times each and they still seal very well.
The product was packaged really well, I like the package design, and it comes with a nice soft bag that can fit everything. The design is simple and chic. Works really well with ground coffee, easy to use
About 10 months or so after getting my Bodum the dreaded broken plastic tab issue hit, making the plunger useless. I contacted Bodum customer support via their website, and got a polite reply the next day asking for proof of purchase, a photo, and my shipping address. Great. I provided this the same day, and then...crickets. I waited a week before following up in the same Zendesk ticket thread. Nothing. Again followed up three days later. Nothing. I then waited another week before writing again. That was a week ago, and still nothing. It's really a shame when for the sake of saving a few dollars companies are so short-sighted as to poison a relationship forever. I'll never even consider a Bodum product again...and all because they wouldn't honor their stated warranty and send me a simple replacement plunger. This press worked fine before it broke, and given that all French presses work pretty much the same I'd advise going with one that doesn't have a known design defect (or at least with a company that doesn't ghost its customers).
We are all coffee drinkers in our house. My grandmother and fiance drink much more than I do, but we all enjoy a nice cup every now and then. My fiance has wanted a French Press for many years. She had coffee at a family member's house from a French Press and loved it. So we got this small French Press for her to use. It is small - only meant for a maximum of 12 ounces at a time. It’s perfect for a single cup of coffee. The canister is entirely made of glass and the plunger/filter is made with metal and plastic. There are instructions on the side of the box that tell you how to make coffee using the press. The coffee came out extra smooth and very flavorful. We just used regular Columbian flavored ground coffee to make the pressed drink. It was wonderful. We mixed it with some flavored creamer and enjoyed the drink. While this might just be a beginner's French Press it worked really well and was easy to clean up. We think this is a good value for what you get.
Works for making coffee using k-cups. Quick and efficient. My only concern was the fact that it came out of the box wet. It was clearly new. So I’m guessing this must have been a tested product.
