If you're a single-cup coffee drinker looking for a basic, affordable, and functional coffee maker, the Mecity Coffee Maker might be the perfect fit. This compact machine, compatible with both K-Cup capsules and ground coffee, was convenient and worked well making me hot cups of my favorite brew with just the push of a button. One of the standout features of this coffee maker is its simplicity. With just a single button on the front, operation couldn't be easier. Simply fill the tank with the desired amount of water, add your preferred coffee grounds or K-Cup, and press the button. The machine takes care of the rest, dispensing a delicious, hot cup of coffee in no time. I tested the Mecity Coffee Maker with my favorite Death Wish grounds, using about 3 tablespoons, and the results were impressive. The coffee came out flavorful and at the perfect temperature. The included filter holder works well with loose grounds, while the compatibility with K-Cups adds versatility to this machine. It's important to note that this coffee maker doesn't come with any bells and whistles. There's no timer or other fancy features, but that's part of its charm. It's a straightforward, no-frills machine that gets the job done efficiently. If you're someone who values simplicity and doesn't need a plethora of settings, this coffee maker is an excellent choice. I have to mention the pretty pink color of this coffee maker. My daughter absolutely adores it, and it adds a pop of fun and charm to our kitchen counter. If you're looking for a functional appliance with a touch of fun, the pink version is sure to delight.
I ordered this tea maker, and it arrived in its own boxing. I open it and on top is a pink sticky note (pictured) saying the power button doesn’t work which was surprising immediately. I decided to try it just in case, and it doesn’t work. Then I open it and it’s all wet inside and clearly used. Just requested a replacement, let’s hope it’s new and not junk.
Me compré esta cafetera porque para mí es súper bella y sobretodo económica y buena
When my coffee maker broke I looked for another one that didn't cost very much. I remembered my late-father was fond of his Mr. Coffee coffee maker. So, I found this model and it arrived the very next day. Now I can fill the water and coffee grinds, set the timer, and it'll brew when at the time I'm getting up to start my day. I like that I don't have to buy coffee filters anymore. At $24 and no more coffee filters I'm saving money and I remember my Dad every morning when I have coffee.
I love the look and feel of this machine. I love the dual heating system and how after you've pulled your shot, it's ready to steam right away. I love the pressure gauge as this is a feature I did not have on my previous machine. The portafilter is heavy and substantial. I've never had a dual spout, only pressurized and bottomless portafilters, so I'm getting use to having to remove the basket to make sure there's no liquid left which is new and kind of a hassle but not that big a deal. The accessories like the tamper, which is also heavy and substantial, and the milk pitcher are a wonderful addition. Notes of concern: I'm not sure if it's because of the dual heating system but the machine does get hot and overheats if you try to pull a shot right after steaming. You have to either let it cool down or engage the cool down function by double pressing the steam button. Not a HUGE deal, just something to consider. SO, this is my 2nd machine as the first one that came in had an issue where the seal/gasket in the back of the group head became damaged just after a few attempts at pulling espresso. The first time, there was a POP then it would leak out of the back. I didn't do anything outside of standard operations, so I chalked it up to just a faulty piece. I did reach out to the manufacturer but their response took longer than what I was hoping so I returned the unit back to coffeemakers.us.com via a phone call. Unfortunately, the rep wasn't able to process the return as an exchange so he had to refund me and I had to re-order, which was fine. Got the new machine a few days later and am super happy. The espresso I have pulled comes out wonderfully and I look forward to many many more!
I am concerned with my product because the screen is blank. I have to unplug it everyday and reenter the settings. Would like to discuss a replacement. See attached picture.
This is a nice coffee maker. The fact that one can remove the base completely to put in my Stanley stainless steel 20 oz tumbler under is a huge plus for me. Also, the large water container in the back is a huge convenience, especially if you're making 2-4 cups back to back. We had another similar coffee maker, which only took as much water as one cup which means you have to fill it for each cup of coffee.
First off, the coffee maker did arrive in good condition. So, I opened the box and discovered shiny glass and metal... Silver and black... Classy. It seems moderately well made. So, then, I looked at the one page of instructions... then I put on my 2x reading glasses. Then I read the instructions. More directly, I saw the words that were strung together... I have to say right here, this is singularly the WORST Chinese to English "translation" that I have seen, and I have seen a lot! Apparently, my number should not lean on my number, and something about disasters... and humor. So... well, back to the internet. (Since there was no mention of the type of fuel required, which BTW, can be most any liquid burner or lamp fuel, but I don't really recommend paraffin based. More on that later.) So, in reading the Q&A on coffeemakers.us.com, I discovered that I can use tap water, (No, not for the fuel....) so I started with that. Put my water up to the 5c mark (By the way, this is not 5- 8oz cups... It is closer to 2 larger coffee mugs) put my grounds in the top section (Oh yeah... the filter... you have to drop the spring/wire/chain thing down the tube and HOOK IT to the bottom of the tube!) I firmly seated the top chamber on the the bottom, and lit my lamp.Make sure that you have the neck of the lower chamber in the clamp... not the neck of the upper chamber. So... Water & Grounds in, lamp lit... About 5 minutes in, I started to realize that 1.)my wick was too long, 2). I had the lamp shield upside down, & 3). there was a thick layer of carbon building up on the glass... BUT... It still looked cool! Really! Okay, now here is a warning... if you are looking to grab a quick cup of joe on your way out the door, this is NOT your coffee maker. The 5 cup, with tap water, took well over 40 minutes to brew. (I tried with the recommended boiling water and 3 cups. It still took 34 minutes. In fact, I made my first cup of pour over drip coffee after 15 minutes, and I still had it dripped and half drunk before the science experiment was done.) So, FINALLY , I was ready for the first cup of amazing vacuum brewed coffee. It was .... underwhelming. I mean, it was okay... but it was like diner coffee. And the MESS! It took me another 30 minutes to get all of the lampblack and carbon soot cleaned up. It was EVERYWHERE! And that soot... you can't just wipe it up. I ended up cleaning the floor, the counters and the sink. AND scrubbing the coffee maker. So, lamp oil... NOT a winner. As I said, I decided to give it a second try. I shortened the wick to about 1/4" (Needs to be half that I think) and used BOILING water up to the 3 c. mark, 3 scoops of grounds. The result was a slightly better cup of coffee, and less soot... but it still took forever. So, my final assessment is, if you want something that looks kinda cool, and will make an okay cup of coffee to go with dessert after dinner, then go ahead and spend the $30. Otherwise, I recommend that you put the money toward a Keurig, or buy a drip cone and a permanent filter (like hemp or bamboo). EDIT/UPDATE: We sprung for a butane burner and it made all the difference. Sure, it’s still a little messy. But No carbon, and no waiting! The whole process took maybe 10 minutes. We bought the ivation Butane Micro Burner, and it was AWESOME. Now, I just need to fine tune my coffee ground quantity. Updated to 5 stars!
All in all Great! I've had it only for a week but if anything changes I will come back and update. Pros: Beautiful, aesthetic, clear measure marks, convenient size, very good materials, plunger sturdy and holds very good, easy to pour. Cons: Didn't really find any yet. I only wish it was dishwasher safe. (In instructions it doesn't mention it. Apparently customer service non-working. They write "Please contact our customer support, we can answer your question right away". Emailed them more than a week ago and... no answer!). (If I don't get any reply it will be enough reason to lower my rating)... UPDATE: Eventually got a reply. See a screenshot of it. And the company said that it IS dishwasher washable.
This last month I found mold in my espresso machine and decided to switch to pour over to avoid that issue. I bought multiple pour over devices to see what was best! This one is hands down the winner for me. The drop is perfect, it only takes 2 minutes or so to drop completely. It’s very convenient for me and my husband to use because we each have our own , we can just use it right on top of our individual mugs. He prefers a stronger coffee and Im more on the weak side, so this is perfect for us !!! It really makes the perfect cup. Don’t forget to order coffee filters because you have to use one. (It comes with a handful).
This machine worked beautifully and made delicious espresso, but only for a little over 2 months. It started beeping once powered to indicate an issue of some kind, leaked from around the porta filter, and streamed rather than steaming water. I cleaned all coffee grounds multiple times to no avail. Now, IF I can manage to get it to respond to any of the 3 buttons, it spews water from every crevice and behind/under the machine making a giant mess. Something is clearly wrong with the pump or other internal parts. I used a $50 very manual Capresso for years before getting a small drip of a leak...this is really unacceptable from a brand new machine from Ilavie. I've e-mailed the service contact I received with the manual to request a refund. I'll update this post if I hear anything back. Highly disappointed in this and hoping I didn't waste $100 on a messy paperweight if the company won't accept responsibility. Anyone reading this should look elsewhere for a quality espresso machine because this ISN'T one.
I need a coffee maker that is narrow (in width) so that I can also place a small toaster oven on my office desk. I have Mr. Coffee 5 Cup Coffee Maker, but its width is wider than this Hamilton Beach Coffee Maker. I prefer Hamilton Beach's coffee maker over Mr Coffee coffee maker: 1. Narrow Width. It is narrower than Mr. Coffee. See the picture, it is taller, but height doesn't matter for my need. 2. Front Fill. You pour the water from the front and not the back (as Mr. Coffee). I spill often when I tried to pour the water from the back. This is a brilliant idea! Very convenient. 3. Hot Coffee. I was mildly surprised by the temperature of the coffee it made. Perhaps, because it is new, it makes a hot coffee. But I do not recall Mr Coffee being hot (when I bought it new). Definitely, if you need a small coffee maker that is slim/narrow in width, then this is the best bet. Recommended!
I bought this as a gift for my sister who loves her iced coffee and she absolutely loves it! I did test it out once before giving it to her to make sure all was well because I bough a month in advance and I was shocked at how smooth and strong the coffee was. I actually ended up giving it to her early she liked the coffee so much. I plan on buying one for myself now too but the larger size bottle. The coffee maker comes with the little booklet with recipes and the company sent an email to make sure the product was satisfactory a few days after arrival. All materials were in pristine condition, the lid fits perfectly on the jar, the handle feels sturdy, and the flip top stays secure. So far there have been no leaks or other issues. The silicone ring is also amazing, the lid has a notch for easy removal and cleaning which for me is a huge plus. I was amazed at the difference in flavor that cold brew brought. Something I learned is the color of the brew doesn't necessarily tell you the strength. The color was still pretty light after the full 24 hours so I thought it was going to be a weaker brew and boy was I pleasantly surprised to be wrong! The flavor was rich, smooth, and strong, all the things I like in my coffee. The only thing I'd have to add which is more a suggestion and for awareness than a complaint is that you do have to let the coffee or tea steep the entire time before pouring since there is no filter between the lid and the filter contents. Swirling to agitate and mix the contents a little is key because shaking will get grounds or leaves on the underside of the lid. Overall I'd 100% recommend this product and seller.
convenient! 😊 Especially love that the lid comes off easily—makes cleaning a breeze! The handle is designed so well, even with freshly boiled hot coffee, it doesn't get hot to the touch. It sits steadily on the coffee maker, no wobbling at all when brewing. ☕ The pot is clear and bright, and I can see the coffee's color as it brews, which is such a treat for me. 🌟 Even under high temps, the handle stays cool, and kind like it tho ✌️
Super easy to use. Gets the coffee up to 200 degrees for maximum, great flavor and the steel carafe keeps the coffee hot for several hours. Definitely opt for the steel carafe because it keeps hot longer and doesn’t break. Also, it has a travel lid so you can literally take your pot of coffee with you on the road! I purchased the 1 liter (@ 32oz.) shorter pot so the coffee maker can fit easier under a cabinet.
