I like that both Kuerig and Nesspresso cups can be used, as well as brewing a large pot!
This is listed as brewing at 200F but it was noticably not as hot as all other coffee pots I've ever had. I like everything else about it.
This is a pretty press. Used it once for coffee today and once to make brewed tea to make iced tea. Honestly I wish I would have gotten one of these a while ago. I have no need to make a large pot of coffee. It’s perfect. I added the KIND bar for scale.
The coffee machine takes up little space and is light. It fits perfectly in my small water bar. It is easy to clean and easy to operate. I am not very good at making coffee, but this machine is enough for me. It is worth the price.
Delivery was fast. Beautiful machine. Perk is slower than a Bunn but I expected that since I don't have time at work for leaks. Love the grounds basket. Formed so the filters don't fall in on itself. Love the metal buttons for power & burner. Only thing I'm really disappointed with is I've had it in the office 3 days and the Teflon burner is scratching off already. It a scale office with 130-180 trucks and day and go thru 6-10 pots and day. I didn't notice in any reviews about problems with that. Update: When you pull the filter basket out it is seated too good that condensation doesn't get out. Be ready with a rag because it drips heavily onto pot and burner when you pull it out. 1 mo update.. with the Bunn, I had drivers pulling the pot out while perking making a mess. When this one perks the button turns red. The drivers notice it right away and go for the upper pot..big thumbs up for that
Will not work with Keurig pods. Stops half way through the brew. Displays warning that there is high pressure built up Inside. Has worked with a few house brand pods. Phoned Keurig and they said the problem was with my water. Old K55 worked fine for 2 years with the same water.
This coffee maker is great, easy to use and easy to clean. It comes with a tumbler which is normally $20 on its own, so that is a nice bonus. Plus the shipping was really fast and it is packaged safely so you don’t have to worry about it being damaged in transit. Very glad I made this purchase.
For my initial review, I’ll summarize the improvements to the flavor of my coffee (it’s ridiculous ), and my brew process. After a few weeks, I’ll give an update on how it’s been going. It’s been two weeks and I still can’t get over how much better coffee tastes from the Technivorm. The previous machine was a 20 year old Mr Coffee. (Side note: It had been in the cupboard and used when having friends who wanted coffee, so about 5 times.) Meaning, same basic drip-brew principles. Doing a side-by-side comparison gave crazy, huge noticeable difference. Tried 3 different types of coffee and all from the same grind and using the same weight. Got the same results: It’s. Un. Be. Liev. A. Ble. My brew process: 1) Start with fresh beans (monthly coffee clubs are highly recommended). 2) Burr grinder with a slightly larger grind to get a smoother (less bitter) flavor. 3) Weigh ground coffee to get 43 grams to 5 cups (it’s less than the golden ratio, but it’s MY coffee) 4) Heat your mug / cup (get it hot so the coffee transfers well and stays hotter longer) 5) Filtered water (mine is from the fridge door using its filter) 6) Using Technivorm's filters (they’re paper and a perfect fit making it easier to pour in the ground coffee) 7) Rinse the filter BEFORE putting in the machine (just to make sure I remove any possibility of the paper tainting coffee flavor) 8) Pour coffee grounds into filter 9) Flip switch 10) Enjoy coffee in about 2 minutes! After a couple months, I’ll post an update on how the coffee is doing and any thoughts on keeping her in tip-top shape.
This so far is the best coffee maker I have ever had. It has many amazing features that are way over my expectation. The coffee machine is made to require minimum barista skills and come out with the better taste than most of the coffee shops around. With just one click I can get latte, cappuccino, espresso or macchiato. I especially love the frothier which conveniently integrated in the machine. It makes thick and smooth form with tiny luxurious bubbles that are so creamy. Mechanically, the machine is very user friendly. All the features are very straightforward. I didn’t even turn to the user instruction before my first try. Also, it is very easy to clean. I usually just rinse it with warm tap water and maybe wipe it with a light cloth. In addition, I really love the sleek design and modern presentation of the machine. It’s a nice decoration to my countertop. I already have a Nespresso, a French press, a pour over, and stove-top percolator, but this is now my go-to machine every morning. Overall, if you are very picky about your morning coffee, you have limited time and you are on a budget, then this is your best choice.
I loved the idea of what this machine could do, so I bought it... Now I wish I could return it. To start, it ruptures the filter or just explodes the pods all together. I’ve taken the pods in to work to try and rule them out, they work as they should... Nothing is plugged and the machine is maintained regularly. The settings for the craft side is counter intuitive. It always seems to have water leaking from somewhere.
Great coffee pot, I use it everyday. Simple to use and easy to clean. It is small, which is what I wanted, but you may have to brew another pot for company lol. Recommend!
The point of this coffee maker is obviously to create something cheap for people that only need to brew a couple of cups. A couple of the problems with this machine are that it does not have a showerhead water drip system and the water temperature doesn't seem to be consistent (it does reach around 200 degrees F in the final parts of the brew, but is lower before that). The temperature is not something you can fix unfortunately, but there are a couple tricks you can do to overcome the way water drips into the coffee: 1. Use two coffee filters. Place your coffee into one paper filter and then place another coffee filter on top of the coffee grounds. Use a toothpick to poke some holes into the top filter to allow the CO2 to escape (important for the next step). What this will do is allow the water that comes out of the spout to spread and cover the coffee grounds more evenly for a better extraction. When I do this, I don't get the pit in the middle of the coffee grounds like you typically get if you're running this machine in stock configuration. 2. Use a smart plug to create your own bloom cycle. This coffee machine does not have a built-in bloom cycle, but you can manually create your own either by turning off the coffee machine for about 20 seconds a minute or two into the brewing cycle or using a smart plug to automate this. Since I use an Alexa Smart Plug to start my coffee automatically in the morning, I created a routine to automate the bloom cycle. I've included a screenshot of my routine in case anyone else wants to try it also. Note that although the recommended bloom time for coffee is 30 seconds, my routine does it in 20 seconds because the coffee machine will not start dripping water the instant it is turned back on. After trying these two steps, there was a noticeably smoother taste in the coffee, and it felt like the extraction was much better. This of course is not going to be as good as a high end coffee maker or other brewing techniques like French press or pour over, but for the $25 you're paying for this budget coffee machine, these two modifications will produce a very respectable taste for your morning coffee.
I’m a lover of all things Ninja! This was a total bust! I used the K-Cup and selected 18oz. It didn’t even fill my 8oz cup. I’ve tried other amounts and same situation. ALSO there were grounds in my coffee. It’s happened SEVERAL times, with both coffee grounds and k-cup. Super disappointed. I wanted to love this, but the inconsistency of measurements/oz and coffee grounds in my coffee every time was a solid NO! Shipped this sucker back!
Muy bueno.
The coffee maker looks like a toy. The color is turquoise not green. It would be great for small spaces. It worked on the first try-very fast-unlike my Keureg, which I am replacing due to having to start three times before it makes coffee.
