I'm one for reading instructions, but this machine is really simple to use. It has two buttons (power and Bold) and a knob with two options (cold brew and hot). You could get by without reading every letter, honestly. Just pour the amount of water you want in the back reservoir with the cup you're going to use (leave room for any ice or creamer) putting the cup in the staging area, put your grounds in the basket (Ok, yeah, read the instructions for that part, there's a handy chart for the recommended amounts there. Don't go over 6Tbsp), put the basket's case back on the machine (lock it first), choose your desired settings, and press power. In about a minute or less, you have coffee - cold or hot. The cold brew isn't truly COLD, but it's not hot, either. I've attached pictures of the machine making my most recent glass of iced coffee. I start out with a little less than half my glass filled with ice and creamer (I measure about half the glass for the water for the coffee, too, which is already in the machine). The images are in sequence, and by the last image, you can see the amount of ice that has melted. Unless you like really weak coffee, the BOLD button is necessary for cold brew!
At first, I loved this machine. It was much less expensive than other self-grinding espresso makers. However, I have had it for 5 months and water has begun leaking from the bottom whenever a larger cup of coffee has been made. I reached out to the company when this started a couple months ago with no response. Update: I reached out to the company again. They were very apologetic. A specialist reached out to me and sent me a new machine. The new machine is fantastic.
I've bought hundreds of things on coffeemakers.us.com, this is my third review. I'm very picky. I was skeptical... $136 for what looks like a shallow crock pot. However, when I compared the price to other roasters, it was worth a shot. If it works, it's a good deal. I open the box, the instructions are in poor english and it's clearly not heavy duty. Still, I figured let's give it a try. I have to admit, despite my reservations, this thing roasts beans perfectly. I've done 3 batches now and it's consistent and easy. There is no timer so you have to watch it. It's also hard to hear the cracking stages... so watching it is a must for that too. All in all, it's excellent at what it's designed to do. How long it will last, I don't know. Right now, I'm extremely satisfied.
This is my second coffee maker the first one was excellent, it lasted 2 years and started going out by not heating up right and shutting off, for the price I wasn't gonna complain it was perfect espresso maker so I decided to buy another one, I tested it with water only no coffee add it and worked fine so I decided to make a cup of coffee as soon it build pressure coffee started flowing than suddenly hot steam pressurized started building up and escaping from the top where the water reservoir cap is, I shut it down released the pressure checked the cap to make sure it wasn't lose or tight crook it, everything was tight and cap screwed on right, so I started making coffee again and as soon it build up pressure the steam violently escaped from the side of the cap again and growing like it was about to explode, so I shut it off tired with a other water reservoir cap from my other machine and did it the same way, at this point its very unsafe to use it because if that cap blows or water reservoir it could cause severe burns, hot steaming pressurized water is no joke, so now I am stuck with it.
I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but when I have out of town guests who drink it this works great! Much better than the keurig that I had. Plus I love nostalgia items, super cute and zero issues. Very easy to use!
This provides a much smoother brew than other French presses I've tried. I'm not a fan of gritty coffee, and this is the least gritty French brew I've had that hasn't been passed through another coffee filter after brewing! It feels solid and sturdy, and it looks so good it's a pleasure to leave out on the counter. Hoping it'll come with different finishes in future, since the polished finish gets smudgy. But overall it looks good and functions well, and makes enough coffee to last me through my day, and I'm very happy with it. Being dishwasher safe is a real bonus. There was a bit of a learning curve to using it optimally; took me 5-6 uses to get it just right.
Very powerful. Very good. Simple and fast
While it lasted, 2 cups iced coffee and one iced tea. Noticed in video start button is flush not pushed in. Mine came like the pictures. Okay, new design. Made first coffee. Pushed in button, Start light came on. In seconds it started brewing. I was impressed ! Made a tumbler of tea. (Actually split it 2 ways) Sunday morning, go to make a tumbler of tea. Add the water, tea in basket, ice in cup and placed ready to go. Push the button NOTHING. More of a pain to clean and pack up for return. Expensive tumbler but hey…
I have been loving this new machine because of its ease of use! Making lattes at the touch of a button without having to froth or steam my own milk is amazing. It makes a decent espresso and does a good job creating foam as well. It was easy to set up to use the first time and looks sleek compared to our old standard espresso machine. It’s much quieter too.
So I wish I could review this coffee machine but it arrived with the pot broken!
There’s scuffs all over the coffee pot and water spots on the glass. There’s also what looks like coffee in it.. tried contacting black and decker but that didn’t go far.
Coffee maker is two years old, and the black coating on the warming plate is already flaking off, exposing powdery white spots. I contacted Mr Coffee, and they will do nothing to fix the problem. Other problems with the pot are: 1. It is very difficult to pour water in the little fill holes. 2. The nice looking stainless carafe is designed so it dribbles when you pour. 3. If the pot is not centered exactly on the warming plate, a pot of water goes all over the counter. 4. The delay timer numbers are hard to read. 5. The coffee warmer keeps the coffee too hot to drink. 6. If you overfill the reservoir by a tiny bit, the water comes out of a hole in the back. 7. Your hand does not fit into the pot for cleaning. 8. The fill numbers on the pot cannot be seen when filling the pot, since the pot is stainless. 9. The fill markers on the water reservoir are difficult to read. I've put up with all of the problems EXCEPT the coating flaking off of the warming plate. This is a design defect that Mr. Coffee refuses to fix. I make one pot of coffee per day. The only positive feature of this pot is that it looks nice when it is just sitting on the counter.
This 62-yr-old grandmother is picky about her cup of coffee but wants to keep it simple! This coffee maker replaces a small MR COFFEE that didn't produce really hot coffee. This coffee maker is so perfect to me in producing the perfect cup of coffee I have considered purchasing another to store. At my age, it seems like every time I find something I like, it becomes unavailable. Five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Used this coffee maker for two months and I was cleaning out the glass pot and the glass shattered in my hand...I was not squeezing the pot either! the glass is so thin and I never even realized it. Mechanical it worked fine.
When I read that it makes 3 cups I decided to buy it. But it's really small. It barely makes 1 "normal size" cup. And it's ok! Because I could make more, since it's fast right? WRONG! The thing get really hot and you have to wait until it cools down to remove the used coffee and put some more. From the picture it seems you can make at least a full cup, but don't get fool! There is a limit of water you can put in because of the hole from where the pressure will be release, so the top clear container doesn't get as full as in the pictures. It fills half of it only. I'm very disappointed. I decided to buy another coffee maker and return this, but I was 2 days late. So I'll try to sell this thing online... (Picture of colored water to illustrate)
