I enjoy making coffee in a variety of ways. I have a K-cup/espresso pod machine, espresso machine, percolator, drip coffee maker, French press, and cold brew. I was intrigued by the ease of the Verve Dwell Dripper Pour Over Coffee Maker. Thanks to a reviewer, I knew what size filter to try, a #185. However, after trying the Verve, I saw that another reviewer discovered that some use the Hario v60 #2 filter. I might give that a try to see if one results in a better cup of coffee than the other. The Verve is a simple device. It’s made of silicone and sits on a coffee cup. You put the filter in, place three scoops of medium grind coffee in the Verve using the provided scoop, and then slowly pour boiling water in a circle over the grounds up to the line and let the water drip out. Repeat two more times. You end up with a 10-ounce cup of deliciously smooth coffee! I used fresh ground coffee. My coffee cup worked perfectly with the Verve. The first time I made a cup, I used 10 ounces of water and ended up with only about 8 ounces of coffee. I realized my mistake, and the second time, I prepared 14 ounces of boiling water to ensure I had enough. Voila! I got 10 ounces of coffee by filling the Verve to the line each time. I think I used about 12 ounces of water. Making the coffee is very similar to the way I make my cold brew concentrate. You have to pour the water slowly over the grounds in a circular pattern. This coffee tastes so close to how my cold brew concentrate tastes after I add water. Very smooth!! If you don’t always like the acidity or “bite” most other coffee methods offer, you will enjoy this pour-over method. It doesn’t take long at all to make a cup of coffee with the Verve. And in my opinion, it’s worth the little extra hands-on effort. Coffee made with my cold brew concentrate has always been my favorite tasting coffee. However, the Verve delivers the same taste and satisfaction without the extra hassle. Clean-up is simple. Dump the filter and rinse the Verve. The only negative is that the line marking on the outside is difficult to see and feel. It’s very small and thin. I had to hold my finger by the line to gauge better how much water to add. Markings on the inside as well would be helpful. Even though a filter is used, it doesn’t stay flush against the side; at least mine didn’t, and I would be able to see the fill line better that way. Overall, I am pleased as punch with the Verve coffee maker. I get excited about getting up in the morning to enjoy my super smooth, amazingly delicious cup of coffee.
One of the reasons I purchased this Mr. Coffee maker model was it included the carbon-based water filtration system that during the brewing process helps remove up to 97% of the chlorine from the water and improves the taste of your coffee. I had this on the 12-cup model I was replacing and wanted to continue having this feature. You rinse this replaceable filter daily, and replace it monthly or after 50 pots of coffee. Imagine my surprise and dismay when I tried to buy replacement filters that they had been discontinued! What? I buy a new unit and an important feature is unusable? 2. It does not have a setting to choose the strength of your coffee between regular or strong. I would be perfectly happy with this unit if it wasn't for these two issues. It has a Reusable Filter, ability to Brew Now or Brew Later, Grab a Cup auto pause, & a 2 hr shut off. I have included a photo to show the filter size difference between the 5-cup model and the 12-cup model. You can buy packages of the filters here on coffeemakers.us.com that says "it fits all models" but that is not correct as it does not fit the 5-cup model.
This french press is well constructed - it feels solidly made. The plunger/filter fits snugly and allows very little coffee sediment to pass through the filter. It is important to note that the product received looks very different from the product portrayed in the photos (see attached photos of the box and french press). I like that there are no plastic parts that descend into the hot water. I was disappointed that the steel lid has a white plastic liner that extends maybe 1mm below the steel, so unless you pour very slowly or pop up the lid slightly, your brewed coffee will be passing over the plastic liner as you pour into your cup. One other thing to mention re: cleaning is that unlike other french presses I've owned, you cannot use the plunger rod to spin the metal support X under the filter mesh to aid in the cleaning process.
We Ordered our first Tea pitcher in December of 2023 and it did exactly what we needed it to. My husband can brew tea and then ice it and keep it in the fridge. This past december 2024 - this tea pitcher handle broke. I actually think it was because i dropped it in the sink and then it broke. The handle is plastic. It also had a poor design in that when you held the handle your hand would touch the hot glass because there was not enough space between the handle and the glass. So we ordered our second tea pitcher this past January 3, 2025. My husband was excited that they had upgraded the handle and fixed the issue with your hand hitting the hot glass. this was short lived as on January 18th my husband poured hot water in the pitcher to brew his tea and the glass pitcher cracked and then broke. The whole bottom of the pitcher broke. This was unfortunate but I thought well maybe we got a bad one. The problems is that the manufacturer email and phone number do not work - so i cannot get ahold of anyone to reimburse or replace this pitcher. I am kinda bummed out that we have purchased two of them and had a problem with both of them and there is no way to contact anyone to help with a replacement. - this was money down the drain. I suggest you try a different one.
Es la segunda que compro ,la primera me duró solo unos meses y esta q compre ahora ni siquiera sirve cuando la probé,, recomiendo q la saquen del mercado urgente para q más nadie pierda su tiempo comprándola, gracias
Excellent
So easy and perfect for travel and- not gonna lie, an easy way to have coffee made at your bed side🥰
This came with 2 very unstable pods to put ground coffee in. One of which the lining was off allowing ground coffee to get into cup. This also doesn’t work with other baskets that hold ground coffee that work in other machines. Coffee comes out weak as the basket that holds coffee is smaller then other the normal baskets see pics below
Love.....Love this machine! Easiest best tasting coffee! Also works with Blue Capsules! So much better than Nespresso cuz it’s HOT :) All in one! Love that it froths and makes coffee all in one cup!!
As far as a coffee maker, it works great. We bought this to replace our single cup Keurig mini. We brew a pot to cool and put into another container to use for iced coffee. The first time I made a batch, I transferred it into my half gallon mason jar (8 cups), which it filled to the top. If this was truly a 12 cup carafe like I thought, it should have also filled a second jar about halfway. So for the second batch that I brewed, I literally took a measuring cup to fill the carafe, and it only held 8 1/2 cups. Of those 8 1/2 cups, only 7 1/2 cups actually got brewed into coffee. While it’s a good coffee maker, I feel like I got ripped off.
I have been using a drip coffee maker for the last few years. I enjoy having coffee all day. Because I am a stay at home mom/tutor, coffee is an all day thing for me. My last coffee maker went kaputz on me. So I really excited to try this bad boy out. I have used it thoroughly. There are several things I like about this one but first and foremost. It doesn't feel like cheap plastic nonsense. I feel like even the glass is a bit more sturdy. This is also my first time ditching the paper filters. And wowza. The flavor difference Id phenomenal. It tastes more rich and not like something you would get out of a Styrofoam cup from the doctors office lol. Seriously though, it's a very fine filter. I have had no grounds whatsoever in my cup and even that happened in my old maker. Clean up is easy peasy. No risk of the paper tearing up and messing on the way to the garbage. I love that when you fill it with water, it had step looking pinpoints for how much you are putting in. Perfect with my eyesight. I'm not trying to dial in and see numbers on the side while I'm pouring water through the top. It's right there. So easy to see and read. I like the filter option. I'm aware it's not necessary. I like that it is an option though. It's seemed to keep the coffee warm as long as I needed and wasn't a problem to heat it back up on my slow days. Overall, I'm really impressed at the quality of this coffee maker. I have used many in. My travels and so far, this is number one. I cannot get over the value of the flavor. Just awesome!!!
It's pretty. The finish holds-up well, even after dozens of cycles in the dishwasher. Also, there are only four cups in 1000 millilitres. 🤣
Just like the title says, I love how compact and convenient it is to make cold brew. Eliminating steps in my process. I'm used to making cold brew in whatever containers I have around, and it can be kind of messy sometimes even a hassle to filter. Remember that the amounts listed in the manual are just suggestions. A guide to help you find your perfect cup. If 6oz of coffee doesn't suit you try 5oz. it's that easy. Regular AeroPress filters are much cheaper and fit perfectly well in this cold brewer. The slight difference in circumference is NOT an issue as they fit recessed into the threads and seal perfectly. Your brew will be clean of silt and fine dust as well as a lot smoother. I consistently find that 130-150grams of ground coffee to 710ml of water yields about 473ml of concentrate... Thats 24oz of water combined with 4.5oz of coffee grounds yielding 16oz of cold brew concentrate. I find that this concentrate is best tasting mixed with 3 parts milk or water for a 1:3 mixture. That's 2oz of cold brew concentrate mixed with 6oz of milk or water, making an 8oz coffee drink that tastes amazing. Your milage will vary but give it a try! Using only 2oz of concentrate to make my daily coffee means that I can make 8 coffee drinks before I need to brew again.
Carafe broke at the handle and Chefman only offers to replace with a K-cup model as a replacement. They take weeks to respond to a simple email and offer nothing to warranty the products sold on coffeemakers.us.com. I can buy another coffee maker from coffeemakers.us.com but Chefman can't replace the carafe in the one we already purchased. This did not even last 3 months before it fell apart. Do not buy from this company! The do not help their customers at all.
