Just came today...already tested it and works grate...thx guys my camping trips are gonna be that much better
I really like this little coffee maker! Since I have to work from home now. I have been wanting a little red (which is my favorite color) single cup coffee maker that was not too expensive or a Kurig. This is perfect. It is so small that it barely takes up any counter space and it brews my coffee, tea or hot chocolate in no time. I also like that it has a reusable filter. The down side to this little gem is that the top lid does not stay completely closed and it does not shut off automatically. So I always have to make sure I turn it off right away after my coffee is done brewing.
If you are looking for the perfect brewer for your desk at work, this is it. The Keurig 2.0 system has some great features - such as increased brew strength (great for those tough Monday mornings, hot water on demand (Earl Grey here we come), and an easy to use touch screen interface. The 40 oz. reservoir ensures that you will not be making constant trips to the water cooler for refills. I recently was able to make use of the cleaning feature which is an added bonus to make sure the insert tip is clean and functional. This was very easy to use and made routine maintenance a breeze. Thanks, Keurig, for the free pods for this review.
Was good but now no work
We absolutely love it! First off the driver actually ran down our long driveway that goes downhill in 4-in snow to deliver it. What an awesome driver, when they could have just driven right by or thrown it at the top of our driveway as others have done. Second, this is really easy to use and I absolutely love it. The coffee came out tasting so much better than it does in that ridiculous drip coffee maker. Poor slow, to no overflow filter. But you will have to stop several times and keep adding more water as it goes down. You need patience for this because it takes quite a bit of time. But the end game is completely worth it. I wanted to show that my hand, as a medium-sized hand woman, is able to get all my fingers on the cork. Another reviewer had complained that she could not but she was not even trying from her picture. Of course it's not going to be perfect for everyone and yes the glass gets hot. To make that perfect cup or more of coffee, your water temperature should be between 195 to 205°. Do not go any higher as your coffee could taste burnt. I have not tried it with a filter yet, but I will. Being somebody who has high LDL it is recommended that we paper filter our coffee as there are kahweal and safestol in coffee beans that can be filtered out with a paper filter. This is true for me because we used to have a coffee grinder pot that did not use paper filters and once I stopped using it at the recommendation from my doctor, my cholesterol went down by 10%. Lastly another reviewer was not sure about the little plastic piece that comes to put in the top to pour your coffee. She was afraid it was going to break the glass. Hot glass is not going to break as easy as cold glass. And if you ever so carefully put it in there like I did you're completely fine. It actually slides in very easy due to the Steam on the glass.
This pour over set works great for my morning pour over coffee. Some things to note are that it steeps slowly when I’m trying to brew pre-ground coffee -the water drips through so slowly that it could take more than 6-8 minutes just to finish 4-5 cups! So I like to grind the beans myself on my OXO burr grinder at setting 9 out of 15, which is a bit more coarse than medium. Another note is that the cork doesn’t keep the coffee hot for long, so to reheat it, you could put it on a stovetop for a bit. I pour the used ground beans into a plastic Tupperware and use that to spread around my garden. Rinse the filter out after use as well!
We have been RVing for over 40 years. We try to find products that work will and save space in our RV. This coffee maker is fantastic. It saves space, keeps the coffee hot and I like the option for brewing it BOLD. Looking for space saver products, at one time we had a Black & Decker, under the counter Spacesaver. B&D does not make that unit anymore. That is a pitty. But people will sell "used" ones for $150 to $200. This Hamilton Beach Flex brew has more to offer and is ar an affordable price. If you are reading comments for guidance, I feel you will be pleasantly surprised to the Rich Bold teast of your coffee.
debating between 3 or four stars i chose 3, heres why. pros: takes more than one battery size (especially good if you already have the makita battery ecosystem) great way to make coffee without fire or corded electricity fun novelty compact and lightweight easy to clean works with loose grounds or tea/coffee bags(with nothing in the grounds chamber just makes hot water) cons: only makes one small cup at a time(240 ml) while it feels stable if knocked over will spill the the water from the reservoir doesn't fit most standard sized coffee cups some other smaller ones fit(not in my picture the cup it comes with and clear one fit the black cup does not) the plastic is much cheaper than the kind their tools are made out of overall: i like it,and im keeping it but im generally a bit disappointed with some of the design choices. i got mine on sale for 75$ and i feel thats an ok price while the normal 100$ is definitely too much unless your very frequently somewhere that doesnt have another method of making coffee. i think a hot plate/open fire and percolator or regular coffee pot with extension cord would be superior, but if you work far from a power source or don't have access to fire and need/want coffee this will get the job done. if the design ever gets updated i would like to see compatibility with standard mugs, better quality plastic, and a higher capacity reservoir to brew more than an individual cup at a time.
Really coffeemakers.us.com or Brentwood. The water level is on upside down. At least my wife had a good laugh for her mother's day.
I like cold brew. I have a Hario carafe that I just love. What I don't love is running out of cold brew. I know, you're not supposed to drink it like soda, but I do. I can't help myself. So when I saw the Vinci Express and its claims of making cold brew in 25 minutes, I had to give it a try. I was skeptical, as I am of any 'shortcut' method, but I went ahead and did some tests. Operationally, the Vinci is much easier to fill than a manual cold brew setup, with a lot less opportunity for mess. The filter basket screws securely into the top, so grounds don't get everywhere. You don't need to stir or wet the grounds manually, which is usually where I start making a mess, and when you're done, you simply pump the entrained water out of the filter basket and drop the whole thing into the supplied cleaning cup, avoiding any drippy mess. First, I ran on the highest strength setting with a coarse grind from my Capresso burr grinder - like I use with a french press. That's the one I did in the attached video. I was underwhelmed by the strength of the brew. Undaunted, I went ahead with a medium grind - the same one, in fact, that I use for espresso. Not a fine grind, as the manufacturer expressly says that's a no-no because the fines can damage the mechanism. That's the one on the right in the picture. I actually ran the cycle twice just to see if it changed anything, but the additional time didn't strengthen the brew or noticeably change its taste, so I'm thinking that 25 minutes is enough to express all the good stuff. That picture is a comparison between a 24-hour steep in my Hario (left side, slightly cloudier) and a X-Bold (highest setting) steep in the Vinci (right side, clearer). I should mention that the Vinci steep sat in the fridge for 24 hours waiting for the Hario to finish before I took these photos, but I didn't see much residue in the bottom of the carafe, so it does look like the Vinci makes a clearer brew. Just judging by the hue, one brew isn't noticeably stronger than the other. Now I admit that though I love chemistry in all things, especially when they're potable, I couldn't really taste the difference between these two samples. I was expecting the Hario to be much stronger than the Vinci, but it turns out that once you get the grind right, they're fairly comparable. There are no bitter notes in either; I could happily sip them out of the glass just like this, and in fact enjoyed both brews over ice without anything added. I'm happy with this brewer. Seeing as it makes similar quality coffee to a much more finicky and time-consuming method, I'll happily make it my go-to cold brewer. Plus - no more fears of running out - of cold brew, that is, as now I run through coffee beans about a zillion times faster. Also, I'm up for days at a time, but that's on me.
This item has been RECALLED. I discovered that I had this model from several years ago, tucked away in an upper cabinet, and I wanted to clean it up to use again. Upon further research, I found that this model had been recalled because people were getting burned from hot water spraying out of it. I called customer service, and they will not replace or refund the brewer because it has not exhibited any issues.. so they expect me to use it and just wait to be burned by scalding hot water spraying out of the unit, THEN call for a replacement. Disappointed in the customer service on an item that Keurig has acknowledged has a recall!
This is the cold brew set I have been waiting for these last couple of years. I do not drink coffee but I love tea. So I used this to make cold brew green and white tea within an hour after I opened the box. The infuser is a fine-mesh so little to no particles come through. As I make my own vanilla extract from beans in large mouth mason jars, I have ample jars if ever my butter fingers let the original one slip. Yes, this is not a Ball or Kerr branded jar, but it is still fairly solid in my opinion (as I have many Ball jars currently). The handle does sit a bit close to the jar but that works in my favor as I have hand spasms so having fingers wedged in there is perfect for me. I am very pleased with this set.
I really like this coffee maker. It is quite small, but that’s okay. It brews my coffee hot and it’s easy to clean. Only thing I’m not big on, is it’s not automatic shut-off. Just remember to shut it off after brewing!
I grew up with percolators; in our kitchen there was always a pot of coffee on the stove for visitore and it got deliciously strong by late afternoon. This 12 cup WestBend percolator is perfect for me. I can clean it completely in 1 minute and brew 6 cups (3 mugs) in 6 minutes. Of course, it is best to use a good coarse grind coffee and to wet the coffee basket before adding the coffee to minimize the grinds going into the brew. I use a top quality coffee like Maxwell House French Roast (good to the last drop!). Thirty grams of coffee (3 coffee scoops (2 tablespoon measure)- each 30 ml ) for the 6 cup mark, makes a delicious, strong and HOT pot of coffee. (4 scoops for 8 cups etc.) I can leave the pot on all day and get a little fix of caffein whenever I want it, and there is always that aroma of hot coffee that permeates the house. Over the years, I have had espresso machines, drip makers, pour overs, French presses, Melittas, Areopresses... and they are all so time consuming to maintain. And the coffee they produce is only lukewarm. One useful tip I have is to invert my mug over the percolator spout when I start the brew in the morning. The steam that comes out of the spout as the coffee percolates heats up the mug (see picture) so that my first eye-opener will be piping hot. Put a little dish under the mug to catch the condensation. I cannot recommend this percolator too highly. Try it out and get back to good old American basics.
I've been eyeing this machine for a while (smaller version) but could not justify the price tag. Tried another pod coffee maker and the coffee was too weak for my liking so I use a regular coffee maker and a frother to make my lattes at home. This machine has changed my life!! The machine does come with an array of sample pods for you to figure out which ones work best. There is also a 10 dollar discount coupon for your 1st order. I linked my machine to my phone and it gives you the status of your machine. The coffee comes out strong and frothy! Keep I'm mind that you can pick the straight to your liking! Mediums have been my favorite! There are 3 temperature settings and 3 foam settings. Cons: the machine is loud to make and brew coffee. It does not come with a carafe.
