I bought this coffeemaker as an alternative to the basic one I’ve always owned. I wanted a hotter, flavorful cup of coffee that didn’t take 20 minutes to brew. I also wanted a coffeemaker with a carafe versus a hot plate. So far I am impressed with the speed of the coffeemaker. It is speedy. It also is very hot which I really wanted. The carafe and the overall ease of use is outstanding. I have tried the preset timer which has worked and the gold setting. I plan to try my brew setting next and then the cold brew. The pros: fast, hot, solid/sturdy, delicious coffee and easy to set up and use. The cons: price. So far that is it. Will update this review if that changes.

very disappointed. just only after 14-months, this product started leaking water from behind the pot. is this supposed to be a disposable item?! no matter the amount of coffee I brew, 2, 3, 4, or 5 cups…it still leaks.

  • I am a coffee snob, from roasting my own beans to owning several espresso machines (fully/semi automatic). When traveling, finding a cup of good coffee is always a challenge, Starbucks/coffee shop is the backup and not my first choice...Had been looking at various portable machines before I found this great little thing. There are several key features I was looking for: - Self heating - Accept fresh coffee grounds, not just pods - Generate enough pressure to create good creama and not just fake creama bubbles This pro version from Cera+ seems to be the first of its kind, check every boxes I had above plus more, it is well made, come with many accessories and using a 51mm portafilter basket! you could buy your own 51mm accessories (e.g. tamper, filter screen...) and they will be compatible with this machine. Had been using for several days and really like it so far, you could see the espresso this machine produced, great espresso with good creama! The machine seems durable, but will need to bring that on the road to test that!

  • We got this as a wedding gift and have absolutely loved it! It works exactly as expected and has kept us stocked with fresh, delicious cold brew week after week for over two years. However, this morning we discovered that broke in the fridge, and we have no idea how. Based on the shape of the crack, something must have knocked into it, but we are very disappointed that it broke so easily! Despite that, we will be ordering a new one soon because we love it that much!

I’ve tried everything and this will not show up in Alexa on my iPhone. So, because of that, it’s just a regular coffee pot, and not a Smart coffee pot, for me. I’m sure it’s user error and I’m going to keep trying, but it’s very frustrating. I will update my review if I can ever get it to work.

  • On our last month long stay in an apartment in Paris we couldn't get the pod-style coffee maker to work. We usually enjoy pour-over coffee anyway so we spent a day hiking all over Paris searching for a simple inexpensive pour over filter holder. Everything we found was $25-$75, no simple $5.99 plastic filter funnel type holder to be found. We made our own from a cheap plastic funnel. This handy VVGCS Collapsible Paperless Pour Over Coffee Maker will be easy to pack for our next stay, and may also be great for our next backpacking trip. The silicon funnel has a stainless steel wire mesh ring at the bottom which is your filter, no paper filter is required. Pull the sides of the funnel UP, I kept popping the mesh filter ring out by pushing it down. The funnel holds about 8 ounces. I placed 3 scoops of coffee in it and boiled 10 ounces of water. Poured over a couple of ounces of hot water, then followed with the rest, it handled the 10 ounces fine. The coffee tasted great, with no grounds found floating in the coffee. Clean-up at the kitchen sink required a bit of effort to clean out the stainless steel filter and get all the loose grounds off the silicon funnel. If you were at a campsite without a good water supply it may be a hassle. Tomorrow I'll try the new filter with a #2 paper filter inserted which would enable easier clean-up. The silicon filter packs down to a 4" diameter by .75" high, weighs about 2.5 ounces. For comparison, our everyday home use plastic filter holder is about 5" in diameter (including it's handle) and is 3" high, weighs 2 ounces.

  • Noisy, slow to brew and continuously clogs up. 1 day old and I get one usable cup to every 3 attempts (see picture)...

  • After looking for months at numerous coffee makers and reading far too many reviews, I finally settled on this Ninja Hot and Cold Brewed System. I opted for this one for three reasons: (1) it has great reviews; (2), it allows me to brew different sizes of both coffee and tea; and (3) it has reusable filters. I also have a Ninja blender that I've had now for 6 or 7 years and it works great. I love it and have used it a lot with no problems. So I know Ninja products have good quality. When the machine arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see how easy it was to set-up. The reusable coffee filter was already in it. I basically had to wash the parts (carafe, frother, measuring scoop), rinse the reusable filters, then attached the frother. I opted for the glass carafe instead of the thermal since I really won't be using it that much anyway. Set-up really just involves running two full water reservoirs through it first. Easy peasy. I then programmed it to do a travel mug for 6:45am the next morning. The machine recognizes which filter is in it, and then it's super easy to program the time and what you want. Please be aware that you do have to leave the machine on all night when you program it (that doesn't bother me, but I know some people may not like leaving the machine on all night). At 6:45, I heard the machine start doing it thing. I walked into the kitchen a few minutes later to find my travel mug full and ready to go. The coffee (Hawaiian Isles Kona Coffee Co. Kona Sunrise) brewed perfectly! Since then, I have also brewed a single mug of specialty coffee (brews 4 oz.) and a half carafe with no problems. I haven't tried the tea yet, but I expect it to work similarly to the coffee. The frother works great. It's also easy to use and the milk was very frothy. The only very minor thing is the frother is basically just a whisk. There's no steam like on an espresso machine, so if you want warm milk, you have to microwave it first. But that's a minor issue and does not detract from how awesome this coffee/tea machine is. A measuring scoop comes with it and has a spot on the side where it fits. Overall, I am super happy with it. The Ninja Hot and Cold Brewed System is a bit more expensive than many other coffee makers, but it also has a lot more functionality. For me, the functionality combined with its ease of use and brand reputation is worth the price. Highly recommend.

I read the manual and had no issues! I absolutely hate manuals, but this one was well written. I even like the little compartment that will hold all the used pods.

  • This is a great coffee maker for everyday use! Buyers beware that even if you hand wash this every day, the writing is going to smear off within a month or two.

Overall, we like it a lot but were expecting a little bit more for the price. Highlights: The most important thing is that coffee does taste great with a smooth texture and would think this is the most important thing. So, if you are looking for an incredible cup of coffee, then it does meet that threshold. It is easy to adjust coffee flavor to your tasting. While it does have many plastic parts, is easy to operate; This is a plus, you just turn it on and "presto"; if you forget to turn it off, it will do automatically in 100 minutes. Who needs more than those features? It is easy to clean and maintain. It looks super cool and looks even cooler when brewing coffee... As it promises, it brews the coffee very fast, and in fact this might be its greater “con” because when you get something at high temperature that fast it also gets cold fast, therefore I often have to take my cup to be reheated in the microwave. We struggled with choosing in between the glass and thermal carafes. We made the mistake of going with the glass one. We thought that being a modern coffeemaker, coffee was not going to taste burned if left there, but were wrong. Like with any other coffeemaker that does have a hot-plate to keep coffee warm, it does burn the taste. If we could, we would change for the thermal carafe... (Moccamaster, can you exchange for a better review?). The water container shows a capacity for 10 cups... no way! at most you will get 4 1/2 cups. In fact, if you want just one cup, you have to fill it at 2 1/2 their measurement to get 1 cup. I do not understand why they can't fix this. Assume that having a measurement of 10 cups looks and sells better? Overall, we are satisfied with it because of the great taste, cool looks and easiness to operate. UPDATE 2020 and 2021: After using the Coffee Machine for a few months we noticed it started to get green at the bottom of the water reservoir but inside the components. It was mold. We used everything we could to clean it without success (Descaling it and typical coffee makers cleaners). We called the company to learn more about this. They where not helpful and mentioned it was a problem with our water and the only thing they could do is open the machine and clean it for us at a cost of $99 plus shipping.... What? In spite of knowing I was going to void my warranty, I had no more option than to look into YouTube to check how I could open it up and clean it. I was able to do it and was a simple process. I had to take all parts off and clean it really well as in fact a lot of Mold was accumulated there. Now we know we have to do this process every few months. We change our rating to 3 stars because of this and Technivorm should have a disclosure that this can happen and ways to fix it (clean it) without voiding your warranty. Perhaps they need to change the design to be able to open and clean that area easier without the need to go through unassembling the components. Coffee still taste great, although I feel coffeemaker is not working as originally promised.

I refuse to accept a brand new coffee pot that comes in a refurbished box. Sorry. Not sorry

As a first time user it took me a few tries to get the screw function to drip at the right pace to brew the coffee to my exact taste but i got it eventually and the coffee tastes exquisite! My method: once you screw down the press to where its (not too firmly) pressed against the coffee, unscrew it just under or at about 180 degrees, with cafe du monde chicory coffee the brew should take about 7-8 minutes. I have the 9.5oz filter and i use 2 tbsp of ground coffee which yields 8-8.5oz of coffee. Of course this might not be the correct method but its the one i prefer!

To begin, it’s a coffee maker. As with most, the quality of the coffee is based on the brew as much if not more than the maker. So from that point it’s great! Build quality is exactly what I’d expect from the brand. As a coffee maker it’s easy to use add water, filter, grounds and make sure the green light is on. You’re ready to go! (5Stars) It’s the addition of Alexa is where things turn (2Stars). First, the directions make it seem much more simple to activate than it really is. If you already have the app and are into the Alexa ecosystem it’ll be straight forward but if not, get ready to be surprised at set up. The upfront mention that Google is all about protecting your privacy was the first “wha?” moment. Then came the questions. It soon began to seem like a lot of questions for coffee. Definitely more than the 4 easy steps in the directions. After you set up Alexa you need to remember that for this to work it requires setup/prep before bedtime. Which is not saving you time as much as it’s just readjusting the same time. Yes, the convenience of telling Alexa to start the coffee is cool but… wouldn’t a timer do the same? Couldn’t I just get up and start the coffee? How much time does this truly save? How smart is too smart?

  • its the perfect size to make one cup of tea is exactly what i pictured it would be. Good so far.
