Easy to clean..pain in the butt to dispense. Hate the grounds holder. It lets a lot of bits and dust to go through unlike others we have used. The picture of inside the pitcher is with us being very careful to not get the grounds inside the pitcher itself (filling the grounds holder out of the pitcher, filling carefully and slowly to not overflow the grounds into the water) and actually filling the pitcher with water is so tedious and slow. I hate it.. my poor husband has been silently dealing with this for too long..and now I can't return the dang thing.
Spigot handle broke after a few uses. It snapped off and appears to be made of a plastic material that isn't too sturdy.
Works well, didn't realize this is smaller than my last similar cold brew picture. It's off because the basket for the grounds holds a lot compared to the amount of water you put in. I put the same amount of grounds in as I do in my 12 pot coffee maker. Maybe it's supposed to make it more concentrated, but doesn't look like it gets nearly as dark as when I run a 12 cup pot with the same amount of grounds
This brewer makes wonderful cold brew FAST. I had been using a French Press for 12-24 hours, now I have delicious concentrate in about 25 minutes with no grounds at the bottom. The Vinci makes a really generous amount and I store the carafe in the frig door till used up. The Instruction booklet is detailed with large illustrations to prevent misuse. They even provided a Cleaning Cup to securely hold the Control lid and filter while you are sealing the top on the carafe and to clean the Control Lid. I have found it very easy to dump the grounds by simply removing the filter basket top and turning it upside down over the trash. The bottom is also removable. These pieces are easily cleaned in warm soapy water till the next brew. You then use the Cleaning Cup to clean the Control Lid with some fresh water. I bought a small Curver Infinity storage box to keep the Control Lid safe in between brewing cycles, and to keep all the pieces in one place including the Instructions. I'd give 10 stars if I could. This would make a terrific gift for cold brew lovers!
Bought this for my son and he loves it! He said he can’t start his day without it! Coffee tastes great and frother is just right! Do not hesitate to buy this!! Buy it now!
For something that is supposed to be durable, it is not. The water holder is plastic and the bottom cracked the first time we dropped it in the slot, water leaks from the bottom. The seller said it is not eligible for return.
I like that it has a presser for the coffee grounds, the coffee is very hot and delicious brew .. Black and Decker products are great... I have other black and Decker products that have lasted 10+ years. I do like the design, 12 cup water level..the noise level is very low 🔅
I love that this coffee maker came with a reusable filter and spoon for the coffee ground. I wish there were marks on the pot for how many cups of water you put in it, or even on the side of the machine where you can see there is water in it. Nothing is marked, but I ended up writing on it with a sharpie. I love how big the spout is for pouring. I wish the on/off switch had a light because I never know if the circle or line means on or off. But I will get used to that too. Overall it works really well and looks like good quality. There are just a few extras that could be added to make it better. I also like that it uses cone filters because that's what my pour over uses (for when I don't want to use the reusable one).
This comes with an easy to understand instruction booklet. I set the coffee maker up and did the Cleansing Brew a couple times before making my first cup of coffee. That went well. Then I was ready to brew my first cup. I put my 12 cup mug in place, dropped in a Kcup, selected a 10 oz. brew size (which normally leaves me an inch to add cream). I pushed the HOT BREW button and it started brewing. My mug was filling and filling and FILLING!!! I was getting worried as it passed the 10 oz height. Thank goodness it stopped filling the mug JUST before overflowing. Phew! So, after that, I tested a few sizes just using water and catching it in a large measuring cup. When selecting 8 oz. I got 8 oz. Selecting 10 oz. gave just shy of 12 oz. Selecting 12 oz. gives just over 12 oz. and Selecting 16 oz. gives 17 oz. So, I recommend testing your brewer the same way before having an accident with a cup overfilling and making a mess. I took 1 star off for the inaccurate brew sizes. Temperature of a freshly brewed cup varies from 164° to 174° The positive: It makes a good tasting cup of coffee. It is not too noisy. It is quick. It is easy to operate. The water reservoir is easy to remove and replace. Lots of options - Kcups, coffee grounds, it handles tall mugs to short cups. They printed warranty instructions right on top of the machine. While it's nice to have that handy, it looks a little tacky and cheapens the look as it sits on your counter. I wish that were on the back of the water reservoir or on the bottom of the machine, anyplace that's not SO visible.
Two keurigs died on me, I think the power strip was to blame but we’ve never had great luck with them… anyway I was looking for a more compact and affordable choice and stumbled upon this one. It’s aesthetically pleasing, I can brew a whole pot or just a single serve, i used my deathwish coffee pod and it brewed without any issues. The coffeee is HOT! Usually after I add in my creamer the coffee gets cold, but not anymore! This bad b gets it hot enough that I don’t have to warm my creamer up before putting it in my coffee. Overall first use was a 10/10, it sounds a little clunky and louder than a keurig but it doesn’t bother me.
I've never had a French press before, and wanted to get a small one. This one is the perfect size, I only need it for one cup and I love it.
This coffee maker worked amazing for the first four months i had it. I used it every morning and was so proud i was saving the $5+ dollars i used to spend at starbucks every day. However, it started leaking water and causes a mess on my counter. There is a small hole in the back which if you fill the cut more than the fill line it comes out. Mine started leaking from the front, and its not just the water its coffee. I am so bummed because this was the first coffee machine i invested a lot of money in for the latte aspect.
My girlfriend got me this since I travel for work and complained about the constant hotel coffee. It is fairly straightforward in operation. But doesn't exactly recommend ratios from water to coffee grounds. That was a LOT of trial and error for me. I initially started with max line for each and choked with how strong it was. For me personally, I find my fill on water and about half full for the grinds. It makes a smooth cup. Cleaning is fairly easy. I do recommend removing the seal around the lid occasionally to clean. I use a straw cleaner to clean out the spout more thoroughly from time to time, but water flushes it out well enough. I remove the orange band and wipe it off as it tends to get coffee under it occasionally. That could be due to how I pour or maybe it's location on mine. Then again it could be due to a small dribble when you tip it back up. Not sure. It has two openings on the lid, big and small. The small is for venting purposes as you pour it. Sometimes I get grounds in my coffee, but not often. One con I've noticed: the lid appears to be two parts glued together and I've noticed mine has separated a little at the seam and I get water in it. Not really sure what to do about it but it hasnt effected it in any way. Regardless overall this is a really sound product and I recommend it.
Best purchase made this year. Better than any coffee house or packaged cold coffee. I can control taste and the amount used. If you love cold coffee you definitely need to purchase.
Regrettably, after two hand washing I noticed that because the glass is almost sealed into the metal bands holding the handles in place, the bottom of the carafe has cracked along the base. I was afraid of breakage or damage if placed in a dishwasher so avoided that. While I don't mind hand washing, the way this is made, I fear that this construction will not warrant re-ordering. Could not return due to two time usage.
