I could not figure out how to give it 0 stars. I finally finished using all my old filters with my Mr. Coffee machine today. I got out the Taylor Swoden Coffeemaker I purchased on September 7, 2022 and followed the instructions to be ready for tomorrow morning. I was trying to run the 1st 8 cups of clear water through as instructed. I pushed the On button, the blue light started flashing. I left the room and came back about 5 minutes later but nothing was happening. I waited some more time still nothing but the blue flashing light. I tried using the programming function-unit came on with blue flashing light but nothing happens after that. Unplugged the unit waited a while-repeated steps-nothing happens. I emptied the water out and checked when I purchased the unit and then saw a person has 30 days to return item- but it said it had a 2 year warranty. What do I do now. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. As you can see from the photos that the coffee machine has never been used before. (Brand New) Steve M.
Everything. Easy to clean, adjusts to 5 size mugs, temp and strength. Quality from Kurig.
Yes, I did state affordable but let's put this into perspectives. I'm coming to the Anima from a Gaggia Titanium which I purchased here on coffeemakers.us.com in 2005 and at the time, paid $1499. I loved it and made over 25,000 cups until last month when the water pump finally died. I was told by Gaggia it would be too expensive to ship and fix and that the Anima was the 'replacement'. So at more than half the price of the Titanium, and considering what other super automatics can cost, I found this unit 'affordable'. It makes superb coffee, perhaps better than the Titanium. There are mostly pro's, a few con's in comparing the two. I talked about price. Further: 1. Quality of the coffee. I think this unit grinds and thus produces a better, stronger cup. I've played with the various controls and nailed how I like the coffee. The quality is outstanding (see below, comparison to French Press and Chemix). 2. The unit appears to hold a bit more coffee beans and the same amount of water as the Titanium. 3. The coffee dispensing spout has a wider range than the Titanium and allows very tall mugs which is a major plus for those of us wanting coffee. 4. The control panel is icon based and attractive. It's a bit more descriptive. 5. The unit is smaller in footprint than the Titanium. It doesn't swivel on it's base which I could care less about. 6. The unit has a more robust "reactivation" (energy saving) mode which is programmable by time. When the unit first wakes up and cleans itself, it uses far less water than the Titanium which makes the water in the tank go longer between refill. 7. Once you set the desired amount of product with one push of the button, two pushes produces twice as much like the Titanium. I like the progress dialog on the LCD letting you know how much longer the process should take. More about this in #2 below. Possible cons: 1. Build quality isn't close to the Titanium**, but with careful use, I don't think that's going to be a factor. The Titanium was solid with lots of 'metal' while the Anima has a lot of (what some might call) flimsily plastic instead. And that's what one would expect at half the price. I believe if a user is careful with the parts that need to be removed, cleaned and handled, this will not be an issue. 2. The Titanium had three "coffee" buttons, this unit has two. Not an issue for me. Both are programmable for the amount of product and thus strength. I have one for espresso and one for 'coffee'. So you can program the amount of product to dispense and double that by clicking on one of the two buttons twice. Titanium also had a cup warmer I never used; not necessary IMHO. 3. Seems to require a bit more maintenance. One has to 'oil' the brew unit occasionally and once a month, it's recommended it be 'cleaned' with a Gaggia tablet. That wasn't the case with the Titanium. I don't know yet if this will be a factor. Both units need occasionally to have a descaling. 4. This unit is a bit slower in dispensing the coffee perhaps due to the strength of the pump or, it just has to do this to make a better, stronger cup of coffee. Hardly a con but I wanted to mention you'll wait a bit longer for one 'round' than with a Titanium. Both produced lovely creama. 5. To alter the grind with the supplied tool, you're told to start the process of making a cup of coffee and turn the dial while grinding. That's not possible as when the door to the coffee beans is open, the unit stops so I can't figure out how to follow the instructions. None the less, I was able to carefully turn the dial to the desired grind and now it's perfect. All in all, I'm very happy with the unit after a few weeks of use. I miss (and loved) my dear Titanium but I'm very happy with this unit. I hope I'm lucky enough to brew 25K cups of coffee and get 13 years out of this unit. There doesn't appear to be a number of coffees produced menu option but that's not a big deal. When my Titanium died and while waiting for this unit, I went back to a French Press and a Chemix (my backups) and it only took a few days to want my super automatic back. Grinding the coffee, boiling the water (to ideal temp) and clean up was a major hassle compared to having a super auto. Push one button, you get a superb cup of coffee. And I really prefer the taste of the coffee from the Anima from either backup method. So if you've never had a super automatic, go for it. If you think it's too expensive, you can spend a LOT more. **EDIT: purchased in 2018, it is now nearly the end of 2023 and the machine is still running as good as the day we got it.
Loaded with features, the only 5 star part about it. Just by the description it's easy to see this coffee machine sounds great and it could be a nice machine BUT!!!!! and this is after owning another machine with a burr grinder. First impression I ask myself where is the grind off button?????? there isn't, you have to turn the grind control down till the selection say ground. Big dead right,, wrong. Where's the auto on button, has none. Example, I hear the machine run out of beans, I run over and stop it and open the filter basket to see how much coffee ground and by design, bad design it slings a big glob of wet grounds on the floor. OK, so it looks like it ground about half of what I needed so I dial in what I think I need and restart but now another flaw, after grinding the amount I set it for and brewing I pull the carafe out to poor and it's not full. It turns out it stopped brewing before using all the water, about what I set it for when it ran out of beans and stopped. I then need to dial in the amount of water it let in the machine and turn the grind control down till is says ground and again have to open the filter basket to continue and, yep another blob of wet grounds end up on the floor. It finishes, now the next day I have to set it back up and set the grind amount again when it should be just a grind off button. Now we have the missing auto start, you have to hit the auto start 2 times, it first flashes the time it's set for (stupid) and then it turns on the auto start on the second push and still displays the time. Cleaning, yup if you just want to brew your coffee, drink it and run out the door forget it. There is a stainless disc with a opening for the shoot that rotates after grinding and it requires cleaning every brew when it done brewing or it hardens and is tough to get it off latter. The filter basket lid is the same, having slits in the top it traps coffee and debris inside and only rinses out if you take time to clean it right away instead of setting down to drink your coffee. We bought this after the clock quit on our old one we had so no auto start but it had a grind off and had no cleaning to speak of. If I had a replacement picked out and it didn't cost $350 I wound just take a 5lb hammer to it and smash it. I now have to alter my busy schedule to take time to clean this thing every morning when all I want is my coffee when I get out of bed. I have more but this review is long enough. Pro's, lots of features to get the taste you want and grinder is quiet. Con's, No grind off button, no just push a button for auto start, PITA having to clean right away, Setup menu's have a lot to be desired, filter basket lid traps debris and just don't push the button and let if open by itself or it will sling wet grounds out. I W A N T M Y O L D M A C H I N E B A C K we gave away Update, This stupid thing just quit brewing with 3 cups of water in it, had to open and close the basket and set the amount to 3 cups to get it to finish. Above is pictures of having to clean, may as well get a vacuum cleaner out or you have do pick all those beans out to reassemble it. They give you a straight brush that should be more like a small tooth brush to clean out that shoot that doesn't work. You can't se up in there so you need a flashlight and it should have a downward slope to it and doesn't. It is a short and when you open the basket and find coffee grounds packed in the inlet of the basket it's time to clean it. Poor design, we had the grind and brew before and liked it much better. We will toss this peace of junk some day and get another grind and brew like we had before. Update, both me and my wife can't wait for it to break, Shoot gets plugged and then you end up with a pot of hot water. You have to take time to pull the basket right away or the humidity hardens what's in the shoot. The hooper doesn't feed the grinder well, you can hear the grinder speed up like it's out beans and then you find them off to one side not entering the grinder. WE HATE IT.
When I last bought this in 2019 it was $10 cheaper ($29.95) and included a funnel and caddy for the filters that you no longer get (see photos). As usual - take more and give less. Greedy greedy Aeropress.
This is a joke. This is clearly not a 5 cup stainless steel crafe. See my photo, I can palm the tiny crafe in my hand! I also measured exactly how many cups it holds and it's barely 3 cups! It's super cheap thin tin like material. I honestly believe this is actually a childs toy being mis labeled as a real coffee maker. The quality is soo poor, thin brittle pastic everywhere, scratches all over the place, the cord is only 15" long. If you're serving up coffee for Santa's elves this unit would even be too small for that, I'm serious. This is something you might find in a "free bin" at a yard sale somewhere, even then no one would take it and it would end up in a landfill. Don't waste your time here folks!
22 Nov 2024. The HB Flex Brew 5-in-1 I ordered 2 days ago was delivered today 22 Nov 2024. After inspecting all parts, cleaning the parts as directed, I set up the coffee maker. The first issue I found was the inability/difficulty in moving the water tank from the back of the machine to the side of the machine. I'm unable to remove the space saver on the side to facilitate having tank on the side of the machine. I set the machine to brew 12 cups using the pot. Despite the tank being filled to the 60oz maximum, the machine only brewed 10 cups. I then set the machine to brew a 12 oz cup of coffee using a coffee pod. The machine didn't brew the 12 ozs with a continuous stream, but in 3 oz increments with long pauses in between each of the 3ozs. I then brewed a 12oz cup using the single-serve insert with no coffee, and using only water and had no issues. One last observation. While the machine is brewing, there is a lot of steam emanating from the top of the machine and causing the cabinet over the machine to sweat. Over time this will damage the cabinet. If the functionality does not improve, I will return the machine. I will submit a followup comment with a recommendation to buy or not buy.
It works as intended and looks good in my kitchen. My only two complaints would be that when the cup is brewing it splatters coffee on the machine so it has to be wiped down after every use, and secondly, the “add water” light comes on when there is still enough coffee for another brew. Overall, I am happy with the machine.
So I'm not sure why this machine is so well liked around the coffee community. I recently purchased a Breville espresso machine and saw that everyone on the forums who knew anything about coffee had the Moccamaster sitting on their counter. I'm starting to think its more of a status symbol than anything else. Anyway, below is my initial review after having it for a few days. First Impressions: I was able to purchase the white 59461 KBG for a steep discount. This was honestly the only reason I bought it as I would never pay full price for this machine. The first unit that shipped was broken... the hot plate was missing a square inch of enamel from its surface. You'll find this to be a common issue among other reviewers. The replacement unit coffeemakers.us.com sent took a few extra days but arrived safely. Build quality was just OK- It's really nothing special. Don't expect to feel the "wow factor" that usually accompanies frivolous purchasing of a premium priced appliance. I was really disappointed that all the plastic components felt cheap and brittle. It reminds me of using the $4.99 thrift store coffee maker my grandmother had when I was a young lad; It even looks the part to an extent. First Use: First time setting it up took maybe 10 minutes; everything went together easy enough. There are only two switches on this machine which could be seen as a positive or negative depending on what you were expecting. Fortunately, I was expecting a no-frills machine so having one switch for power and one switch for the hot plate was more than satisfactory. The coffee was made in no time and it actually tasted really good... It was some of the best drip coffee I've had in a long time. Pros: -Makes coffee faster than any machine I've used -Quiet operation -Ease of use -Makes a damn good cup of coffee Cons: -Cheap parts all around. I don't feel I got what I paid for -Price is ridiculous -Not easy cleaning the water tank. I will need to invest in tablets... yet another expense -Looks like my grandma gave me her old coffee maker Would I buy it again? NOPE. It makes a damn good cup of Joe but the quality isn't there.
There are no instructions that came with mine. 60 plus years of drinking coffee in a variety of coffee makers, I know how to use this, and it works pretty good. On our electric stove, it takes about 10 - 12 minutes for a full 8 cups to complete. The cool thing about a percolator design, it heats the water to the perfect brewing temp of 205°F. You can tell when it is done when the glass dome shows the water becoming darker. As soon as you see the tint start, give it about 2 more minutes. Lower the heat if it is perking to violently. Turn off the heat and allow it to stop perking. Then serve. Be careful, this makes nice HOT coffee. I want to note the spring. Be careful NOT to lose this spring. The percolator will allow coffee grounds to get into the coffee without the spring. I found that I could push the spring down onto the tube stop enough that the spring stop hold the spring firmly, reducing the chance of losing it. All in all this is a very good, well made percolator coffee maker. Makes really good coffee. Perfect in the morning. Well worth a full 5 stars!
I put up with a Braun coffee maker that never made my coffee hot enough. I had to microwave every cup I poured. I was thinking of replacing it with a Cuisinart (I had always had that brand before) when the Braun did me a favor and up & died. This is the Cuisinart I bought and couldn't be happier! No more heating every cup in the microwave!!
This isn’t my first Keurig purchase. I absolutely love every Keurig that I have ever bought. But I will say… This is the first WHITE Keurig I’ve purchased. And although it looks beautiful it is not the easiest to keep clean. I never realized how much each cup of coffee splashes. I still love it despite the color and it looked beautiful for the party.
I was tired of Heading to Starbucks on mornings I worked from home because of my drip machine’s inconsistent flavor, and the inability of the Keurig to make a cup that stayed hot until the bitter end. The used paper filter cones from my drip machine, together with the mountains of used plastic Keurig brew cups, only increased my distaste with the coffee produced. A percolator does it all with its infinitely reusable stainless steel filter bin and automatic warming feature that stays on and keeps coffee 25 % hotter than a drip or Keurig. The 8th cup is as hot as the first cup, and the coffee itself is a a welcome return to a bold, robust taste. This coffee can take a healthy splash of cream without going cold. All the percolator’s parts are built to last and the environmental impact is negligible as compared to the alternatives. Scientists throughout the world Believe that discarded Keurig brew cups pose a clear and present danger to the notoriously fragile species of sea turtles, not to mention the even more vulnerable residents of California. Also endangered are the few remaining herds of wild sea horses that still call the ocean their home. The unit itself has a solid retro look and makes a cup of coffee per minute. Every working part of this Farber percolator except the base is fully immersible and dishwasher safe. The units are manufactured exclusively by mindful, non binary union members. Percolating is a no Brainer for the modern coffee-lover, I wish I had made the switch years ago.
I am the coffee person, and I work from home. I need a coffee maker that’s precise and convenient, and the Fellow Aiden Precision Coffee Maker delivers. The built-in brewing guidance ensures perfect extraction every time, so my coffee is always rich and balanced. Plus, the scheduling feature lets me set my brew time in advance through the companion app, so I wake up to fresh coffee—no waiting. With its removable water tank and sleek matte black design, it’s both practical and stylish. If you love great coffee with zero hassle, this is the one!
The ihomekee makes great coffee, only problem I had was that the carafe broke near where the handle is attached. I knew the carafe glass was weaker than any other one that I had used as soon as I picked it up because it was very light. After 1 week of daily use, it broke when I picked it up with a full carafe of coffee in it fortunately I did not spill my morning coffee! I could not find anywhere in the description where they said the carafe was made of tempered glass or any hardening agent. My only other complaint is that it does not use a cone filter which surprised me because I thought that was the standard. Filter bottom must be flat.
