I use an OXO brew (which is great) and guessed from the measurements that this would work for a more aesthetically pleasing dripper. I was right, this fits the OXO brew auto-dripper top fine. I like that it uses 01 type (Hario V60) filters that use a lot less paper than the 02 filters used by the OXO, but still are perfect for a 12 ounce cup. It is made of real glass and nicely finished wood (bamboo I think). I am including a photo of the underside (the glass cone just pulls out of the rubberized base). Also a shot of the OXO brew top and filters (not included of course). I am very pleased.
If it were not for one design flaw this would have been great. The lid has tiny notched and bumps that must align to secure the lid in place and the torque on the narrow neck is dependent upon one screw. After a couple months of use the required force on the screw gave way and the item is useless after the threads of the screw would no longer twist the plastic. I contacted the company and they said not to twist it so hard; seriously how do you get it off if you don't twist it hard enough to remove it. They offered to replace the unit if I mailed it to them. The postage was prohibitive. I offered to send pictures as above but they said it was their only offer. So why pay for another faulty designed product!!! For the same price as postage to ship back I will try the Primula PCBBK-5351 51 oz Black Pace Cold Brew Iced Coffee Maker ( https://www.coffeemakers.us.com.com/Primula-PCBBK-5351-Black-Coffee-Maker/dp/B017KUELI4/ref=sr_1_5?crid=28LF9JVWM6GZE&keywords=cold+brew+coffee+maker&qid=1555946420&s=gateway&sprefix=cold+brew+%2Caps%2C160&sr=8-5 )
We’ve had this since October 2022 and we have loved it. But it’s now suddenly cracked (from the heat, I guess) and I can only assume it’s going to start to have other issues soon due to the cracks. It’s such a bummer because we really have loved it but I would expect something we paid almost $200 for to last more than 18 months. I’m so disappointed and won’t be buying this again.
Fantastic coffee, intuitive design for cleaning, not a bitter cup! They really learned from input and this thing is amazing.
I can't live without coffee, especially when I camp a lot with my 3 little boys. I needed an easy way to make camp coffee that had was cleanup. Prior to this I was using a French press...it was not the easiest to get the grounds out of when your in the middle of nowhere. I was hoping this would be easier to clean being that the shot was so compressed, and it looked like I could easily take it out. First thing I loved was that the coffee came out strong and tasted great. Second, it was not that hard to pump and put together. and 3rd, the clean up... The grounds did come out easier than my French press, the only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 was all the pieces that go into it and need to be cleaned. That is the only downside to it. If you have the time and are not worried about clean up this is a great way to get an amazing shot of espresso! When I am not having to chase after 3 little kids, or when our power has been out at home this is my go to for sure. Would totally purchase again.
Product of the year in 2011. I could not agree any more. This coffee maker is the best and for a really good price. Love it's functionality such as the timer to make your coffee in the morning at a desired time, it's indicator to let you know if the coffee pot you are using is the glass pot that comes with the product or the steel pot which you can purchase separately, it also has a nice digital clock (wish it had a light though, that would have been nice), it has a sexy look and it's very easy to use. I also like the spacious water reservoir, so pouring water in the coffee maker does not spill. I strongly recommend.
It’s definitely small. It’s cheap. It gets hot. I timed my first cup which I just used water to clean it out with, shown in photo. After filling it with water, sitting the cup In place and flipping the switch I started my timer. It took 5 minutes 45 seconds to finish brewing. Just wanted to add that because I was looking through reviews for a quick coffee maker. I believe it will serve its purpose and I am happy with my purchase so far. Not sure how long it will last for the price but overall satisfied.
This coffee maker is by far one of the best things I have purchased for my kitchen in years. I have the Thermos(10-cup) version with the single cup(k-cup) on the side. It has worked flawlessly for many months. The program timer: I set the program timer almost every night since getting it and it has made coffee without a doubt each morning. The only issue was that setting the hour:minute was a little confusing at first but I got it. When setting the program just wait a moment and it will automatically move to the minute. Pot & K-cup: A few days in between needing a whole pot I have used K-cups and it punctures the k-cup every time. I have made almost 50 pots of coffee and nearly 3 dozen k-cups. Maintenance & Cleaning: The device has been very easy to clean on all parts. Also, the clever built-in storage for the K-cup and small single brew side is great. 5/5 Stars: I will continue to and have recommended this coffee maker to many people. When/if this pot eventually breaks down I will be searching for the updated replacement.
This Unbreakable pour over coffee pot was easy to clean, easy to use and looks super classy as well. I used a little over 2 tablespoons of coffee to 1 cup of water heated to 200°F and poured it slowly through the reusable filter. Some people recommend letting it set for three minutes after pouring, but the only advantage to that is to get every last drip from the grounds - to me I think it’s less about time and more about watching to see when the dripping stops. I prefer not to let it get cold. As long as your coffee isn’t ground too fine, the basket is easy to clean, but even with the finest grind there was still no grounds in my coffee which was AMAZING! During cleaning the black rubber tab does slide off, but that is good because it keeps water from getting trapped under it and it was very easy to slide back on. I’m really happy with this purchase and it will provide many amazing cups of coffee in our home.
There is NO dripping or leaking of any kind (at least on my unit). The pouring is far superior, very targeted and very well controlled out of the thermal pot - which pot DOES keep coffee hot enough for me. I love the removable water tank. I only add water just for the amount of coffee i wish to serve. The unit sucks every drop of water from the tank which keeps it dry and very clean. I still use a paper filter but it seems the wire mesh filter would hold the grounds up. Kind of pricey though for a drip machine. Definitely good quality.
I purchased this press and I had to put in for another exchange because it was cracked and so was this one that was a replacement. This press is not a good item to buy. The plastic doesn't work good with the heat. And I received it cracked on the second one.
The edge started to peeling off
This is made nicely and is attractive. There hasn't been any leaking and it function nicely. I mostly use the individual side and I love how easy it is to fill and clean. This is fairly quiet and simple to use. A nice gift idea. My only negative is it comes with a few paper filters that have no shape once they arrive. A better idea would be to place them in the filter basket.
The Good: -Borosilicate vessels (very strong and temperature shock resistant) -Easy to clean (descaling with vinegar and soap/water rinse) -Simple operation -Flexible operation (3 different ways you can brew effectively) -Fast operation (only 4-5 mins) -Lid doubles as funnel stand -Keep warm option -Kettle lid has full open for easy cleaning -Works great for many tea types The OK: -No adjustable temperature (seems to cool to around 185˚ F from full boil by end of 4 min brewing; acceptable for many things) -Requires a 6 cup minimum batch to operate (more than many people need) The Bad: -No crema production (just isn’t a substitute for an espresso machine but maybe a better French press?) If you’re looking for an innovative coffee/tea brewing method this guy definitely puts on a show. It’s a unique design that involves a pressure change in the base to move water to the brewing funnel then removes that infused water when it shuts down. Very simple operation just involving adding water/grounds and pressing start. The machine will operate up to a full boil then steep for 4 minutes followed by an auto shutdown. There is a keep warm option if you want to spread out the pot. During operation the kettle reaches a full boil temperature and the funnel water cools to about 185˚ F; this is fine for coffee and many teas but you may need to run another half cycle to get a good infusion with tea. Taste is similar to a French press but you have a more stable brewing temp with low ground transfer. Borosilicate construction is strong, shock resistant and easy to clean; only requires soap/water and occasional vinegar descaling (you could use most descaling solutions for coffee machines too). Doesn’t feature adjustable temperature and doesn’t produce noticeable crema like an espresso machine but it isn’t intended to replace one. Overall, it’s a fun machine to use and gives better flavor than drip options. Whether it’s worth the price difference to a French press is debatable but I’d recommend it to anyone that likes having something entertaining to brew coffee in.
I am not satisfied, I bought a refurbished product which stated that the product has minimal or no scratches but parts of product are chewed and stained. On a product like this, appearance matters a lot and it is not good. I am unhappy with the price I paid for this product.
