  • This company has a no return policy when I attempted to return the item. The rubber stopper was ripped and now the top of the coffee brewer doesn't stay attached. Its basically a rubberband wrapped around the lid. Bad engineering. Item is prone to break. Pictures provided. You can see in one of the photos that the rubber stopper/gasket was bound to the glass container like it melted. Does this mean that the rubber used in the lid has potential to melt into your beverage? There goes my hard earned money. You may want to avoid this company.

  • We love everything about this product. Coffee tastes so much better too I will need to get a cork trivet for this one.

  • UPDATE: After 4 months both of these have begun leaking a tiny amount. It's so slow you can't see or hear the water flow but sure enough, I'll come home after a weekend away and my coffeemaker and cat bowl will be filled to the top and have puddles around them. I've messed with the arm angle and even made some diy adjustments but keep getting the same problem. The 1/4 turn shut off valves are my answer for now. I really liked this product and hope the problems get sorted out so I can buy more. ORIGINAL: I ended up grabbing 2, for my Farberware coffee maker and cat water bowl. No more daily filling for coffe/tea or maneuvering the heavy water jug every week. I am absolutely loving how well they both work and hope they hold up over time. I did heat up and bend the hinges so the bobber fit in my coffee maker (2nd pic), yours may fit better depending on were you drill your hole, but other than that, they both installed easily and I'm really happy I found this product!

  • The color is amazing. It appears to be made with quality material. I will update after using it for a month.

Decided to give it a little trial run using Espresso brew pods from Starbucks which are reviewed as having the richest flavor comparable to instore. However I’m pretty disappointed by that claim especially using what’s suppose to be the best brewer sold by keurig. Having tested all brew settings at different temperatures and sizes I can it makes entirely no difference in flavor or richness. I was hoping this wouldn’t be the case as I’ve been using a Vurto Nespresso machine that was the same price as this model and much older, and there is no comparison at all. I would have to say Keurig is not for those who love a strong cup of coffee. Not now or probably ever.

  • Material used are top quality as expected for every Bodum product I have owned, the pink color instead of the traditional shiny stainless steel top add fun factor to this trusted coffee maker. Try this if you are tired of your old but perfectly working French press in your kitchen.

One of the cups arrived broke. The maker is small and does not produce fast. So its only ideal for 1-2 people, which is our case. I have a star wars kitchen, so it goes with the theme and it does the job.

When I first started using this product, I loved it. I enjoyed the reusable grinds filter, the built in grinder itself, the overflow safety, etc. The features were all very convenient. However, after no more than a month of continuous use, I noticed that the machine was leaking the freshly brewed coffee at every brew. Not a lot, but enough to soak the heating plate and bottom of the pot. I thought perhaps I was using it wrong, not cleaning the whole thing frequently enough, or some other simple mistake. So I started cleaning it - thoroughly - after every use. I started double checking the pot placement to make sure it was aligned under the drip point. I put more time and energy into making sure I was using the brewer correctly than I ever did just making coffee. Nothing worked. I checked the product FAQ, watched video tutorials on how to clean it (just in case I was missing something) and nothing I did could stop the leak. I'm now several months into ownership and have simply resorted to placing a sheet pan under the brewer to catch the leak. Even this isn't a perfect system because the heat from the plate causes the leaked coffee to splatter and the pot itself drips the leaked coffee when you go to pour it so I inevitably end up with coffee spilled on my countertops every time. All said and done, the machine works, but so consistently poorly that it's become more trouble than it's worth and I'm now hunting for a new/better machine only several months into owning this one. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more or hunt a little harder for one that won't become a perpetual headache.

We make one pot/day in our house. What we have found over the last couple of years is that that coffee makers today have essentially become disposable items. Our previous coffee maker that cost ~$50 worked fine, had more bells/whistles, but would clog and slow drip about every ~3-4 months. We would do the vinegar run, it would work well for ~100 days, then clog back up again. For that reason, we decided to toss the "foofy one", go with a more simplified version of a coffee maker, spend ~$30 and just buy a new one if/when we get frustrated. Fortunately, this one has been great and has not clogged once in the 2 months that we've been using it. Pros: - Has not clogged yet (large water flow openings throughout) - Very easy to understand how it works - Easy access to all parts - Makes coffee quickly - Stopper design is simple and works well when you pull the coffee pot out mid-brew - Inexpensive - Large opening when you're ready to pour water into the machine - Transparent gauge so you can easily read how much water, if any, is already in the machine Cons: - No bells/whistles (could be a pro too!) - Does not feel very "substantial" I have added a few photos for your reference/review.

  • Since I got this French press, I no longer drink coffee made in a standard coffee maker. It tastes so much better using the press. It comes with an extra screen that traps the coffee grounds. To clean it good you must unscrew the round parts that trap the coffee grounds. It's easy to do and only takes a minute. When I'm in a hurry I just give it a good rinse and try to get the water between the screen and metal. I've had it for about 5 months and haven't had to replace the screen yet, but I suspect I will within a few months. It's just the right size for me - makes the amount I drink each morning. I also make tea in the press if I'm making it for more than one person. It's high quality and being made from stainless steel it's extremely durable. I like that it's double-walled to help keep the coffee warm, although it only keeps it warm for maybe 30 minutes which is just long enough. Bonus: it looks stylish if you want to leave it out on your cupboard or for serving your guests. I feel like it's a little bit of self-care time every time I use it!

Every time I pour weather in the well a ton comes leaking out the bottom! I haven’t had a good cup of coffee from it yet. The clock blacks out when not in use. Pretty but not practical.

Doesn't nest properly, which was a big reason why I purchased this. Oxo support confirmed that it doesn’t nest flush.

  • Prior to this machine, I have used a basic Mr Coffee 5-cup machine, and a Ninja Coffee Bar. Obviously it is worlds ahead of the Mr Coffee, you can't really compare the two, so I will mostly be comparing this to the Ninja. Straight from the box, it's quick and easy to get set up. Definitely have the directions right with you when you're setting the time and altitude, so you're sure you're setting it correctly. Once it's all set up, you're good to go. Initially, my favorite part of the machine is the Hot Water setting. I was recovering from bronchitis and was able to quickly and easily brew a cup of tea without having to measure out the water in a separate measuring cup then sticking it in the microwave. Mostly I did single cups, though I did try out the Keep Warm feature and brewed a half-carafe of hot water, to see how long the water truly stayed hot. By about an hour after it had been brewed, it was still hot enough to be enjoyable, but not piping hot like the first mug. I probably would not rely on the keep warm feature to truly keep your brewed liquid hot for long periods of time. There are four brewing options for coffee: Light, Gold, Bold, and Over Ice. I haven't tested Over Ice yet because it's too darn cold for iced coffee, but I'm fairly confident from using the others that it will brew fine, an update may come once it's been tried. Between Light, Gold, and Bold... I really did not notice a difference. To me, the coffee tasted the same no matter which I chose. However, despite using a couple different brands of coffee, and using it almost daily, I still ended up with some grounds in my cup, no matter which I used. One time, I even saw an entire layer of silt in my cup when I glanced at it at the end of the day (picture attached). The silt washed out in the dishwasher, but that is definitely not something I would expect from a $200+ machine. Something that I had not considered but was pleasantly surprised about was that the altitude setting was to decrease steaming outside of the machine. I always had some steam around when brewing in either of my other two, I simply figured it was part of the coffee making process. However, I have not seen any steam in all the times I've used my Braun. Even when I open the cover over the filter basket, there's little to no steam rising, no matter how soon after the brewing cycle is complete that I do this. I really like the water reservoir, and this is where the Braun majorly outclasses the Ninja. I had needed to replace my Ninja because the part at the bottom where water goes from the reservoir into the machine had started getting grody (on the Ninja), and there was no way to get in there to clean it properly, and this was even right after running a cleaning cycle with vinegar on the Ninja. So when the Braun arrived, that was one of the first things I checked. That area of the reservoir is completely open and easy to clean. I have been emptying what's left in the reservoir every night and leaving it out to dry, but that probably isn't entirely necessary to do every night. All removable parts are easy to fit into the dishwasher, though you'll need a tall space for the carafe. The carafe, removable lid, water reservoir, that lid, the filter basket, and the reusable filter can all be run through the dishwasher, or hand washed if you'll want to clean them more frequently than you run your dishwasher (or just prefer that). If you'll be cleaning the carafe by hand, you will definitely need a very good bottle brush, I probably will stick with the dishwasher whenever I use it. A minor complaint I have with it is in the reusable filter. When I'm rinsing my coffee grounds out of it, it takes a lot of extra time and effort than the Ninja's reusable filter did. With the flat bottom, the grounds hang out there and are reticent about fully rinsing out. It's doable, it just takes an extra minute or so, and a lot of flipping and turning it around. The drip stop is also very good. I noticed with my ninja that flipping the drip stop on... didn't actually stop the drips, I usually ended up with coffee burned onto the plate because it would continue to drip after I had removed my cup. With the Braun, I flip the drip stop as soon as it's done brewing, and I've yet to see a single drip afterwards. The only time I've seen dripping has been when I did not have the drip stop activated, but opened the top of the filter basket, and even that was just a few. Overall, it's a fantastic machine that seems to mostly be worth its cost.
