  • We bought this small K-cup coffee maker for car trips requiring nights in motels. A friend told me stories indicating that coffee pots in unspecified commercial hotel locations had been used as urinals. Maybe this is an urban myth, but it didn't seem out of range, and I couldn't get it out of my mind. The CHULUX Single Serve Coffee Maker seemed just right. After the device arrived, I realized we could take it on tent camping trips. We are just back from a four-day round of camping at the Lincoln State Park in southern Indiana, and having this coffee maker allowed for quick, delicious Starbucks K-cups right after crawling out of the sleeping bags. Upon return from camping, I noticed that my huge coffee maker was taking up lots of needed space on my kitchen counter. So, now the CHULUX has become the go-to for day-to-day needs here at home, not just travel and camping. This device makes very hot coffee. It is sluggish and takes its time to brew the coffee. But, hey, I am also usually slow early in the morning and don't mind waiting a few seconds more. The CHULUX Single Serve Coffee Maker has motivated me to transition to the world of K-cups. I never wanted a Keurig or a K-cup brewer. But now I wonder what I would do without it! I highly recommend purchasing this coffee maker for car trips requiring motel stays, camping where electricity is available, and for home use, especially where countertop space is limited.

  • I’m very happy with this small pot. I had a Krupp coffee pot 20 years ago and loved it. I’m so happy they still sell them. It makes great coffee and so Easy to use. The only complaint I have is there is no automatic shut off,

I love this little coffee maker! For years I used a pour-over cone to drip a single cup because I dislike the expense & waste of Keurig, and I don’t like instant. Then I saw this. There are few things I buy at first sight, but this was one of them. Is it worth 5 stars? It depends on your expectations. One of the biggest customer complaints is it doesn’t have a warming plate. Neither does Keurig – you don’t need that if you’re brewing one cup. It comes with a 25 oz carafe which is useful when making coffee for two, but if you plan to let your coffee sit, get something else. My huge 20 oz mug fits great (see photos). I don’t remember seeing another maker that could handle it. B&D calls this a 5 cup maker, but that’s based on 5 oz cups. Has anyone ever seen a 5 oz mug? So this is really a 2 mug maker (or one if you have one like mine). It even has an adjustable base for tall travel mugs (up to 7.25”). It comes with a reusable metal filter basket, which works fine, but it also takes common and cheap 4-6 cup paper basket filters. The only negative I can think of is the power cord is kind of short (24”). Time will tell if it’s durable, but for the price (especially at Walmart), you can’t go wrong (it has a 2 year warranty).

My husband chose this machine based on the positive reviews and we wanted to love it. Or at least like it. But after using it for a little over a month, we are returning. It looks nice and has the standard features but it's not user friendly. On the minor side, the clock face isn't illuminated, making the digital numbers nearly impossible to see, especially early in the morning when stumbling downstairs for coffee. So I can't speak to any programming features b/c I if I can't use them without turning on an overhead light, then they're of no use to me. Likewise, you can only see how much water you're adding by looking down inside the machine. You can't go by how much you fill up the carafe because water always spills from the carafe when pouring into the tank (so keep your towel handy). The major issues: - Hard to clean! The showerhead of the pot always ends up with coffee grounds all over it. Have fun trying to get it all out of the little holes. (And I don't like to think about the funky water that never shakes or evaporates from behind that non-removable plastic cover.) The grounds fall down into the water tank, too, so it's not uncommon to drink some gritty grounds with your coffee. The only parts that are removable for cleaning are the filter baskets. - Frequent clogging / spillover! This is where we think maybe we have a defective machine. I mean, we are two adults with five college degrees and decades of coffee making between us and we can't determine what causes the issue (some days fine, some days messy disaster). You hit the brew button to start it going, walk away to do whatever, then return to find coffee seeping out UNDER the carafe. Open the top of machine to find coffee soup brimming to the top of the top of the filter. Then it's a fun game of lifting the hot liquid out of there and get it to your sink without spilling or burning yourself. This morning this happened and I had to unplug machine and dump upside down over the sink and the spray in & out with water to get all the grounds out from everywhere. Wasted coffee beans, wasted time. - Coffee, even when it's a no-hassle day, is "meh". I notice it tasting weak sometimes when I seemingly used the same coffee/water ratio as always. When I clean out carafe at end of each morning, there's a thin layer of sludgy coffee that sunk to bottom. This was not an issue with previous coffee makers, using the same coffee beans and grinder we use now. Also, for what it's worth, we used the gold reusable filter that came with machine. I was happy to replace my paper filters to reduce waste and did not try paper filters instead to troubleshoot. I've used reusable filters in other machines in past and didn't have these issues, either. We also used the tablespoon serving size suggestion for ground coffee. We use whole coffee beans and a simple grinder. Normally I may be more forgiving, but after this morning's mess I was over it. The relief was that we'd not missed our window to return for refund. (Thank you, coffeemakers.us.com) Even my husband, who was far more willing to give it chances over the past month, said it's time to go.

    Love it! Perfect!

  • So we get out Thai tea from coffeemakers.us.com too. So we buy the 4 pack now. So fill up the strainer to the top with Thai tea and fill it up with water soak the tea too so it doesn’t want to spill out of the tea is dry. Wet the tea to prevent that. Also once u do that place it in the refrigerator or leave outside. Best results in the refrigerator. Then 24 hours later u got strong Thai tea and we use star bucks macchiato creamer with our Thai tea and we love it. Try it with any way u want. This unit simple and works great. Only issue sometimes it leaks from the nozzle. Also the strainer is heavy duty feels like it’s 2-3 layers thick and strong. Easy to clean too just rinse with soapy water and use the jet option on ur sink. Might get one more to have a cold brew coffee as well.also we noticed since we are cold brewing the tea no bitter taste in the teas since we don’t Obed brew the tea and it comes out just so refreshing.

  • I bought this for my girlfriend because it think it looks fantastic aesthetically. Unfortunately, it’s all looks. Just get a French press. For one, this thing is crazy expensive. When it didn’t leak in the first week, the coffee was alright. Nothing overpriced. Within a two week window, it started leaking. At first, there would be a few tablespoons of a puddle in my fridge. Now, I mean look at the picture. It leaks almost all of the liquid within an 8-12 hour steep. Just don’t buy this, one of the first times an coffeemakers.us.com product disappointed me so much.

I love this coffee maker! It has a sleek look, is easy to use, and I love that I can make iced coffee or hot coffee and can do as small as an individual cup up to a full carfare full. ONLY negative is that it did not come with the coffee scoop that is suppose to attach to the side

We have been drinking premium Peets freshly ground Sumatra coffee for a while now and kept noticing that our embarrassingly cheap Black & Decker coffee maker was brewing bitter tasting coffee more and more regularly. The hunt was on for a better coffee maker and the Moccamaster appeared to be the best choice given we didn't need any fancy electronics and just wanted a filter coffee maker where we ground our own beans. As a taste test, we brewed 12oz of Peets Sumatra (3 tbsp) with filtered water with the Black & Decker and the Moccamaster. The Moccamaster was 90 seconds faster on the brew cycle. We taste tested pure black coffee and the bitterness of the Black & Decker was amazingly apparent. The Moccamaster brew was very smooth, earthy and tasted GREAT! Super happy with this coffee maker. Granted we were using a cheap coffee maker in the taste test but it showed us how a "real" cup of coffee can taste like at home!

I used this coffee maker to replace an older one that I had. It works great and is perfect for small space living. You cannot use K-cups with this coffee maker, only coffee grind. Also, with the small size, you would need to use mini coffee filters. Regular sized ones get scrunched and will cause coffee grind to go through into the pot. I really like the feature of being able to pour the water in the front instead of the back. This makes having it stationed under your cabinet very easy to use. To brew, you simply switch the button on the bottom on. Leaving it on will keep the coffee warm and when you are done you simply turn it back off. It states that it can make 5 cups, however, if you fill to the 5 mark, it leaks out of the spout. I would recommend only filling to the 4 or 4.5 cup mark. It brews decently fast and is ready within a few minutes. The taste is how it should be, based on your choice of grind and how strong you want it. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a small, simple coffee maker and would also be great for travelling.

Ive had one before but gave it to my aunt before moving across country. So I decided to get another one because its perfect. It works great. Update::: But.... the little rubber screen on the inside of the spout just came out during washing & I didnt realize it. When I found the rubber piece, the metal screen was missing & idk where to even find another one.

The on/off switch on my dad's old Mr. Coffee maker was starting to act up so I bought him this one. I chose this one because it hasn't upgraded drip mechanism which should give better hot water coverage over the grounds. This coffee maker solve that problem, but I question the value of the included water filter. Filter. It inconveniently sits on top of the filter basket so you have to move it out of the way every time you access the filter basket. They expect you to change this every month which seems pretty wasteful to me, it makes a lot more sense just to add filtered water to the coffee maker from a Brita picture or some other good water source. I have a feeling my dad won't even use the filter. It brewed a little bit faster than the old cheap one and the water coverage over the grounds was good.

  • 1 year of daily use and work flawless and awesome. This is the best coffee maker in the market, best than expensive ones like Krups and other brands. Very easy to clean, have a good quality filter, size is perfect and libe the color with stainless steel display, and makes a delicious coffee. Thank you!

This is by far one of the best coffee makers I’ve ever had especially for the price. I had the older model back in college and that thing lasted years and finally slowly stopped working. I decided to upgrade to one of those fancy Keruig coffee makers and absolutely hated it. I could never get the coffee strong enough or to taste as good. Well four years and four different coffee makers later I found myself right back where I started and it did not disappoint. First cup out of it was amazing. I did find that when I use a paper filter vs the reusable filter my coffee was stronger, so if you like a stronger brew I would try the disposable filters. Otherwise fantastic product.

All right, so basically my disappointment in the Cuisinart Coffee Center lies in what you get for the money you pay. I have a lot to say here. I’ve had this for a week now, and I’m not new to the Cuisinart brand, but I’ve gotta say I am really disappointed in this. This was purchased to replace two coffee makers and save counter space. It is replacing a small one cup Keurig and a Cuisinart Grind & Brew. First off, I want to clarify what I bought verses what you will see in my pictures. I bought the black SS-15 Cuisinart Coffee Center which comes with the glass coffee pot, NOT the thermal carafe. However, you will see a stainless steel thermal carafe in my photos because I am successfully using the thermal carafe from my old Cuisinart Grind & Brew with this new coffee center! That’s a plus, gotta say that saved me some serious cash. I found a review from another customer who said that their old Cuisinart carafe worked, and just to make sure, I actually took mine to a Target store, and with the help/supervision of an employee, checked to see if it would fit. Of course, it was still a risk, you never really know until you try it, right? So I ordered the center with the glass coffee pot, and now I can confirm that it functions perfectly fine with the Cuisinart Coffee Center. I can also say it’s a plus that the lid the water comes out of with the coffee center is full of holes so the water is properly dispersed across your grounds rather than just flowing from a center hole like my old Cuisinart Grind & Brew. The lid also seals nicely when shut, and the permanent filter is a cone shape too. Although I knew this coffee center didn’t have it when I ordered it, I also really wish they’d have kept the built in grinder design that my Grind & Brew had, I really miss it. I enjoyed that feature, and it would’ve worked well with this new coffee center machine design. They should’ve at least offered it as an option in another upgraded machine, in my opinion. My biggest complaint from the coffee pot side is a common one. There are only two small spaces where you can pour the water into the machine with one of them being on the single brewer side, which is the middle of the machine, and although the other is on the outside on the other side, it has the removable filter for the water. Unless you have awesome aim, you’ll need to remove that water filter to avoid splashing when you pour water into the machine when using that side, which does seem to be the best place to add water. Regardless of which side you pour the water in, you need the lid up all the way to do so. Not a lot of us have a lot of space between countertops and cupboards, and I’m talking like 2 or more feet here. You can see in the photos that raising the lid up all the way will require at least 8 inches if you want it to stay open on its own, not to mention, the space needed for your hands and whatever container you’re pouring water from, PLUS a very slow and accurate pour. Don’t know about you, but even when we’re at our best, that ain’t easy. I really feel like there is a need for, and plenty of space to add a water reservoir along the back for the coffee pot side of the machine too. Other reviewers sighted spitting from the single cup feature, and sadly, I can confirm that. Furthermore, it doesn’t just spit when using regular size coffee cups, but also the taller ones just like you see in my photos, AND it’s not just a little spitting off to one side either. You can see in the photos of the counter it’s a good 7 inches out in front, it’s to the side of the machine, and the carafe on the other side too. Guess what? Those pics are taken when brewing with a TALL cup. You can also see how little space there is between the top of the tall cup used, and the brewer too. Yea, it’s not the end of the world and I’d expect some with a shorter cup because that makes sense considering the height the coffee is falling, but I do not find this result with a tall cup at all acceptable. I shouldn’t have to find the perfect size block to put a smaller coffee cup on top of, but if I don’t, that means I will ALWAYS need to use a taller cup, AND be prepared to clean up. I had placed a paper towel around the area when I brewed to see how much spitting I’d get, and I removed it halfway through the brewing thinking it was done, but then had more show up on the counter so that’s when and why I chose to take that particular photo. I never had this problem brewing with my single cup Keurig. Speaking of Keurig, their single cup filter adapter is much better design than the one which comes with the coffee center from Cuisinart. If my Keurig adapter worked with this new Cuisinart coffee center like my old thermal carafe does, I’d use that instead, but it doesn’t. Ok so the Cuisinart adapter, or pod as they call it, needs to be aligned correctly, yet does not actually snap or lock into position in the machine, which is stupid. The pod lid also does not cover the permanent filter around the sides; it doesn’t completely seal. Maybe that’s part of why it still spits with a tall cup? Took a photo of the pod, but the only way to really show you how loose it is when inside the machine, and that it can be totally turned around, would be with a video. I chose more pics over one video. I’m also not fond of the attached lid on the pod, or the plastic used for to make the pod. You can see in the photo it’s not very sturdy. I’m sure it’ll get broken easily during jostling if put in the dishwasher, and even during hand washing if you’re not really careful, not to mention normal use on a regular basis. For us, that’ll be every day. I would very much prefer it was made with much more durable plastic and a screw on lid that seals the pod like the Keurig one I have does. There is one plus with the Cuisinart pod over Keurig’s, and it’s the permanent filter that it comes with, also shown in my photo. It has an open bottom to allow for better water dispersement so at least there’s that. The water reservoir on the single brewer side is nice, however, the handle detaches way too easily, and doesn’t lock in. It needs to be more secure than it is, in my opinion, in order to avoid detaching while you’re trying to put the full reservoir back on the machine. I’m not even sure it’s supposed to detach! If it’s broken, it’s still functional, but I will need to watch it. Ugh. Furthermore, the single cup side has a drip try which only holds 3 ounces of liquid. If you forget to put a cup underneath to catch your coffee because you’re having a human moment, then it’s a huge mess to clean up. As far as cleaning goes, the parts that come off for washing clean up easily enough by hand, and I am not putting them into the dishwasher regardless of the fact that they say you can do it on the top rack. I don’t see that resulting in long life. I also don’t see how they can tout this machine as being self cleaning when all it does is blink lights to notify you that it requires a descaling cycle, and it requires more than pushing a single button to do it on the single serve side. There’s a CLEAN button on the coffee pot side so why not on the other side too? The instructions are very specific about how much vinegar to use, and exactly what you need to do for descaling along with what each step looks like with regard to the lights on both sides of the machine. I just think it could be a lot simpler overall if we had a single separate button to push for this process on the single serve side as well. So I’m keeping it, but I’m really glad I ordered it on sale and used gift cards, otherwise I probably would’ve suffered and not purchased it.
