Overall I like this but be aware that the lid is only partially metal. The copper part is metal. The black part is plastic. I like the metal inner filter and the glass carafe. I would need to pour hot coffee through the plastic part of the lid at the spout... I was hoping to avoid hot liquid touching any plastic. I must say the whole item is very pretty.
I didn't even get to use it. I unpacked it and while washing it to use, the glass carafe fell out and shattered. I had another one from another french press that I put in the frame that was the EXACT same size, and the body that holds the glass has a huge opening that allows the glass to fall right out. I would get another one that has the body that wraps all the way around the glass and holds it secure. I attached a pic of an old one I've had for years.
I really liked this little coffee pot for my personal office. The first couple times using it were great. Coffee was good and hot, etc. But I noticed a little crack on the carafe. So I was very careful with it after that. It didn't matter. This morning after a brew, I moved the lid and the whole thing just fell apart. Some of it fell into the coffee (so no coffee for me today). After doing research I could find no adequate replacement for this coffee maker; so I will be getting an entirely new pot (not this model). Hopefully the next one will be better. I know it's only a $20 coffee maker, but I did expect it to last more than a month or so.
I love the size of this coffee maker but it’s made cheap I have used it probably 10 times and the pot cracked and broke! So now it can’t be used!! I’m very disappointed
The display for the clock and brew settings does not have a light. It is very hard to see unless you have lots of light. I like to easily see the time but it does not show up. I wish the description would have said something since they do have a model that lights up KF7150.
This is what looks like an ordinary low priced coffee maker, the same as has been sold for fifty years. But a closer look reveals it is worth a look. I have to confess we are k-cup drinkers, we overlook the price and the bland taste for the convenience. But over on the other side of the kitchen we have our fancy name brand machine which is wonderful but takes effort to prepare and clean. I should say we used to. Deep in the middle of a cross country move all that is in storage and we are camping out in a temporary residence for a few months. So we just needed the basics in a coffee maker. Is this it. WHAT YOU GET This looks like most generic coffee makers, it is one of the few that I’ve ever owner that is mostly fully assembled and ready to plug in after pulling a couple of tapes off. It is the normal size and shape and feels solid, nothing cheap about it. You get the main brewing part, a 10-cup glass carafe, a removable permanent washable filter and a small measuring scoop QUALITY OF CONSTRUCTION As mentioned this one feels solidly built and better made than those I see at the big discount store. The carafe looks to be standard Bunn size. The control panel is all digital. There is a 10-cup clear removable water container in back that can be filled in place from a water pitcher if desired. Once filled with water there is one button OUTSTANDING FEATURES Let’s say this is not cheap at its regular price of about sixty bucks. For that I expect something better than those under twenty at the discount store. And it is. I like the convenience, it just does what it should, I pour the water in, shovel eight level spoons of ground coffee into it and push one button. I like that it beeps at me, quietly, when the coffee is ready to drink. That’s important, I don’t like appliances waking the entire house early in the morning. I like that there is an extra strong setting and nothing is complicated about it, and it remembers the setting until you shut it off. I like that it beeps, softly again, when it’s ready to turn the keep-warm tray off after two hours. COULD BE BETTER At the top of my list of things I would change is an option to keep warm longer than two hours. There may be but I haven’t found it yet. And maybe hinge the cap for the water reservoir for those of us who like to fill it from a pitcher rather than remove it, but that is extremely minor. And maybe make the feet a little less slippery, but again not a big deal. YES NO MAYBE I’m going to give this five stars, but when I ordered it I didn’t expect to. I shy away from brands I’ve never heard of and I never expected this to be as well made and easy to use in every sense. I am using it for morning coffee every day now, which I didn’t expect to do, and I do like it.
The mesh filters for these things buckle when you press your coffee, allowing grounds into your coffee--not just the fine particles that you always get with French press. See the photos I've uploaded. When I first received the press, i pulled out the plunger and saw that the filter was buckled. I took a few pictures, emailed the company, and they agreed to mail me a new filter. They were out of stock, so it took a couple of weeks to get the new one. In the meantime, I decided to try the press anyway. I preheated the pot before brewing and pressing the coffee. The result was a very tasty cup that was much hotter than what I get from my glass Bodum press. Pouring out the last couple of ounces resulted in a lot of sludge and some grounds in the cup--I've made a lot of French press coffee, and this was the worst I've seen. This was not unexpected since the filter was bent out of shape. I got the new filter in the mail, and it buckled after one use. Again the coffee was hot and sweet but poorly filtered. The filters simply fit too snugly and lack the elasticity needed to bend but not buckle. I can't recommend this product due to the glaring design flaw. It's certainly not worth the premium price.
Love this coffee maker! Got it in a couple days ago, used it tonight to test it out. She’s fast at delivering a mighty strong cold brew, and the foam maker is perfect! I commute an hour away for work. So I've been looking for a coffee maker that’s fast, and on the cheaper side. She seems to be hitting all the marks so far.
Justo lo que necesitaba funciona perfecto igual a la descripción
Do not buy. Lid doesn't seal. Someone cld have been seriously hurt.
We wanted a compact machine for just espresso or coffee as we didn’t need a frother. We had ordered a Jura D6 that never arrived and got this for almost half the price. It is a very well designed machine that makes excellent espresso. If you want to make a 20 oz Americano, you will either need to fill the tank every day or just make shots and add boiling water from a kettle. We are very happy so far!
Such a tight squeeze but this just fits the Breville Touch. Ensure you get a set (like this one) that you can configure the angle of the float to fit. Also look at my photos for placement. Will update review if something changes but super happy so far. (Day 1). Con: does not have blue clips to secure the valves/tubes from being pushed in and pulled out.
Works really well. But unfortunately seems to make a splash mess behind it on the backsplash tile.
When I turned it on for the first time, I had the same issue as another's reviewer. The machine turned on, I pressed brew, it beeped twice after 5 seconds, and did nothing. There was no documentation anywhere to show what could be the problem. I literally tried everything I could think of to fix the issue. I removed and reseated the water basin, took out and put back the grind basket, tried different button combinations, unplugging and plugging back in... I THINK there is a sensor for the coffee basket as I can hear an audible click when putting in the basket. That or maybe water wasn't flowing and reseating helped fix that. It's been fine ever since for the past couple months. Coffee has been tasty with no other issues whatsoever. Using the bloom brew is perfect for freshly ground beans. Looks great in the kitchen with other stainless steel appliances.
