  • TLDR: Descale this machine like the manual says, and it will last as intended. I bought this as a Christmas gift for myself and have regularly used it since ( nine months so far). I remember previously reading low reviews about it quiting after a few months of usage. After about 4 months of use, mine stopped brewing coffee too. HOWEVER in my case, it was lack of maintenance. I put coffee machine descaler through it, let it sit, and it ran like new. It has reliably ran since, and I continue to maintenance it like the manual says to. I will update this review if it eventually does quit forever. It makes good coffee in a matter of minutes, it's easy to clean, and it's convenient for me. I only use it for the hot brew, so I can't say if the cold brew function is as good. The only hiccup was my own fault. I have had it for nine months at the time of this review.

  • Good quality , looking good in kitchen. Size is right.

  • I first had a cup of delicious coffee with this filtration while at a friends house last weekend. She has 7 different types of coffee making machines in her home ranging from $100-$3000. She is very versed and made me a cup with most of them. I was looking for the thickness of an espresso shot, but as a cup of coffee, not a shot. The body of the cup is really important to me. I'd rather not have coffee at all than to drink gross thin coffee. I'll admit, the overall experience of food and beverage holds a lot of weight with me. I can't have creamer, so I use coconut cream instead, and I can't have sugar, don't use Neem honey. What I can't stand about French pressed coffee is the sludge. Yuck. Besides, after the first couple sips, what was once the "body" I enjoy, settles at the bottom into the sludge. Gross. Not with this! You will enjoy a stable consistency throughout your entire cup. Love it! Why I bought this and recommend you do too: sometimes I just want one cup, and I only need one, if it's good and strong and delightful! This affords me the best of many worlds. I got a wonderful pricing point with the ability to pack it around and make a cup wherever I want! Finally I can have an amazing cup, any where I want! I can store grounds in the container and leave the house to meet a friend, and just add water when I get there! Think about it... Even a gas station has hot water you can use... It's a win at $35. Sure, I'd love to have the 32 ounce, but there's no need and it's not as mobile as this. The friend who introduced me to this, bought hers from an actual roasting plant. She works at Starbucks and we both agreed this was the best cup far beyond the verismo AND the Starbucks stainless steel fresh press. For $35, I got everything I wanted and don't mind having to make each cup separately. If I find that I need the bigger, I'd happily buy the 32 ounce and not blink twice. This is still something phenomenal to have in my kitchen. I didn't want something that took up a lot of space, this is compact and takes up no space, and clean up is simple! Unlike most coffee makers or presses, there is more oil expressed, so it's not a simple rinse, but that's ok, because you just had a cup of joe you can't even get anywhere else... Don't have to wait in any lines and saving myself a TON of money!!! I am a Starbucks gold member till 2024 due to the points I've accumulated in the past year on coffee. That's a crap ton of money they got from me and so this is a steal. There is no compromise here. I'd rather have a cup from this little gadget ANYDAY over any cup ANY Barista has ever served me. Just get it. You can thank me in YOUR review :) I did a video for it, but wasn't able to upload it :/ so I included pics. The packaging also is great for gift giving.

What a horrible unit. The coffee tastes over heated and the faceplate has fallen off. The mechanics of the coffee basket and the way you fill the water is complicated at best. I genuinely think I hate an appliance because of this thing! Lol sad.

A coffee maker with a built in grinder is nothing new to me I've had three so far this is my fourth. The secret to a good cup of coffee is the bean especially if its fresh ground. This is a big machine it stands 17 inches tall and 8 inches wide and 10 inches deep. The bean reservoir hold enough for two 10 cup brews but you can also do pre-ground coffee. You also have the ability to set one of three different strengths of your coffee which is also controlled by the beans you use. You can also control the grind with a nob on the top from fine to coarse. Like I said this is a big machine and the water is added in the back so often times you will have to move the coffee maker to add the water, a small price to pay for a good cup of coffee. The Coffee maker is also very quiet which is nice for the early morning cup.

Plugged the unit in and after setting the time and when I tried to do a initial run the unit threw an error. Contacted Braun and followed their instructions of unplugging it for a few hours and trying again. Got the same error. Returning it has been the greatest annoyance I have ever gone thru with coffeemakers.us.com. UPS was supposed to pick it up on 05 Aug and completely failed. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited on the 8th (Monday after scheduled pickup). Still nothing. I contacted coffeemakers.us.com and the first POC chat bot told me their department didn't cover the returns and I need to contact a different Chat Bot. After several back and forth conversations I was told on a Tuesday ""The carrier will come and pick up the item within the end of this week."" I know have to wait up to four days to have UPS pickup a defective item. I do not recommend buying from coffeemakers.us.com Warehouse or this brand/model of coffee maker. The E1 error is common.

  • When pouring a fresh cup of coffee from coffee pot leaks. Doesn't matter how fast or angle the pot leaks. One thing i notice if pot is cooled down it doesn't leak when pouting?

I always hesitated to buy the original Chemex mainly because I have small hands and the size of the carafe made it hard to pour. I love this version with the glass handle. It feels solid and substantial in my hand, not delicate like an older off-brand carafe I had prior. Not to mention it's beautiful and makes great coffee! You will never go wrong with Chemex.

  • If you’re a French Press lover, this is a big step up from your standard glass French press. It keeps your coffee at a high temperature while brewing since it’s double walled, and it looks amazing doing it. French press isn’t my go-to method for every day but since getting this a couple of weeks ago I’ve made more French press coffee than I have in a long time. The wood handle pull is a nice touch as well!

  • After my 1-year old ‘fancy’ coffee maker died suddenly, second one in a row with too short of a lifespan, I decided to give a more basic version a try. After all, I never used the timer or other features amyway. So why pay more for them? This machine works great, looks clean, and is very simple to use. What more do you need!?!

After being disappointed with two different Keurig models I decided to try this. Overall seems great so far. Pros: Very hot coffee, brews quickly, easy to use right out of the box, did I mention HOT. Don’t try to remove the K cup immediately after brewing like you can with a Keurig. Cons: height is too tall to fully open lid when it’s under your upper kitchen cabinets, must be pulled forward on countertop to completely open the unit; this maker is loud. I’ve attached a 22 second video to my review. Sounds like getting a root canal at the dentist.

This coffee maker is great for our morning routine. It can brew from one cup to 12 cups of coffee. Our family uses it daily for two cups of coffee. It is easy to set, use, it is quiet and keeps the coffee warm for an hour after brewing. The one down side is the water container doesn't detach to quickly fill but we have found using the coffee pot to be easy enough. Matches well for houses with stainless steel appliances.
