I bought this because, while I like to make pour overs and such, I also like to have an instant option for K cups. You can see my old Keurig in the back. But then I also like to have a full pot option for guests or to wake up with the smell of coffee on the weekends. But I’m not putting ALL of that on my counter so I needed a solution like this Ninja DualBrew. It was very intuitive. In fact, I didn’t even need to read the instructions to figure out how things worked or how to even get the Pod adapter out for a full carafe. The machine won’t even let you use the carafe settings (high volume of water) unless the pod adapter is removed and the brewing shower head is slid forward over the basket. So you don’t need to worry about accidentally brewing half a gallon of water into an 8 oz cup. I tried to brew my first pod cup but it let me know it needed cleaning and upon checking the quick start guide, it let me know that the Ninja needs to run a full carafe brew (only with water, no coffee) before it’s ready to be used. I did that first and then it worked. It’s nice to have a water reservoir too, as you can see my previous Keurig machine was an older simpler version that did not have a reservoir feature. There is also a coffee scoop on the left side that fits into the body of the machine and comes off and on easy. There are multiple brew modes including classic, rich, and over ice, each brewing differently. There is a flip down cup stand for smaller cups to reduce splatter. While a lot of Mr. Coffee machines have a spring loaded closing valve to stop the flow of coffee if you pull the carafe out mid-way, the Ninja features a manual lever that slides left to right just under the main screen. At first, I though this was a shortcoming and wondered what would happen if I forgot to flip it over and the water started overflowing in the basket. But after reading the guide, I found that the machine will stop actively brewing while it is closed and after a short period of time, if you do not flip it back, it will beep to let you know. If you don’t flip it back after five minutes, it will cancel the brew altogether. So it actually ends up being a great feature and safer than forgetting it and letting the basket overflow. The hotplate also has a light up warning to let you know it’s warm and the ninja adjusts the heat depending on the size of the brew and how long it will stay on the plate to avoid burning the coffee. All in all, lot’s of cool features, some physical, some in the software that runs it. Intuitive to use and feels like a quality machine from a quality brand.

  • As a coffee lover with multiple contraptions to make coffee, I can appreciate the Braun Multi Serve. Setting it up took a bit longer since I had to clean the parts, set the altitude (yes there's an altitude setting), and install the charcoal filter. Once that was done, I moved on to the fun part, making coffee. While this coffee maker is quite large, it makes a surprisingly great cup of cold brew a lot faster than the conventional 24 hour method. This comes in handy on those warmer days when I want a cold brew and saves me a trip to the coffee shop or a long wait time to brew it. While the cold brew is slightly more acidic and not as smooth as my overnight method, it saves me a lot of time period the coffee options were stronger than expected, so I use less coffee grounds with over ice, gold, or bold modes. The taste was great once adjusted the amount of grounds used. This machine is pod free and while I prefer grounds due to the variety I buy, I had to sacrifice the convenience and easy clean up that pods have when you want a cup of coffee in a pinch. The Braun is an impressive coffee machine if you don't mind the size and filter changes along with cleaning.

  • I’ve only had this for 4 months and the color has chipped off on the bottom and handle. I’ve only hand washed this, never been ran through the dish washer. Looks terrible :/

I love the fact it takes just over a minute for a cup of coffee

It was a long search to find the best French Press coffee maker for me. I spent at least 5 hours (may be more) reading and researching. And I ended up buying this why. You might be struggling to decide on which one is the best for you, so here is my review and reasons why I bought this one. I hope it will help you. Selection process: I had several wishes: 1) Made in USA or Europe 2) Quality of materials and product 3) Usability (easy to use and to clean) 4) Price After a quick search I realized that there was no ideal French Press coffee maker. However, I realized that I have several favorites and Frieling was the number 1 for me. Why? 1) Frieling is a solid professional brand 2) Product had good reviews 3) Product looked solidly built. Concerns that I had: 1) Made in China (I have nothing against China but I prefer products that are built in here or in Europe for, I assume, obvious reason) - Nothing can be done about that. But again, Frieling is a solid brand and their French Presses looked not cheap. 2) Quality of Steel (Everyone should be concerned about it since you will eat/drink food that was made there and we consumed enough toxins as it is) - I contacted Frieling about it and they answered me very quickly. Thank you, Frieling! Other companies are not that professional. For example, Cousinox ignored all my emails. However, the answer from Frieling was not what I wanted to hear. They told me they use either Chinese or Korean stainless steel from a big Korean manufacturer but they assured me that their 18/10 stainless steel was of high quality. I hoped for German, Russian or American 18/10 stainless steel but at least it was not a noname brand one from G*d knows where. I thought hard about those two minuses, plus the product was not cheap. But at the end, I felt it was the best French Press I could find and I decided to buy Frieling Brushed 18/10 Stainless Steel French Press, 23-Ounce. I paid $79 for it, I see that now it is $59. So, it has been two years and I love it and gave it 5 stars. 1) The coffee maker looks like new and is beautiful. I have used it at least 100 times, most likely more. I am glad I decided to get a brushed one. They always look like new for a long time since micro scratches are not noticeable and no finger prints. 2) It is made well. You can see it is not a $20 one. 3) It is very easy to clean. I have owned at least 4 different french presses before and always had issues. With this one, I just put a plunger under running water and that is it. Plus, all the parts are dishwasher safe. I usually hand wash it ones every two weeks. Put it in dishwasher at least 10 times too and had no issues whatsoever. 4) Makes good coffee - only remember about a 4 minute rule. 5) I purchased some parts (screens, plunger stick) but it looks like the original parts will last for years to come. I am going to add some pictures too. Good luck in your search for a perfect French Press maker and I hope it was useful for you!

  • Love this little espresso French press. And looks great on the breakfast bar. We have charging port for devices so need room for devices. I like the screen design to avoid grounds. Great price so I’ m all set for my morning Latte’s. Enjoyed this little pot for a few weeks. Started leaking this morning.

I’ve tried lots of cold brew apparatuses from a glass mason jar to the large serving plastic containers. For my use, this one is the best I’ve used. The glass feels great—thick and heavy. The inner filter was very effective paired with my Fellow grinder: I was able to coarse grind without a ton of grit or fines falling into the brew WITHOUT a paper filter! I used 100g of coarse coffee and mostly filled the container with fresh filtered water. 12 hours later I was wildly impressed with the results. If you exclusively drink cold brew, you might prefer one of the larger systems designed for 12oz bags of coffee. This isn’t a super high volume kit. However, for the occasional cold brew or smaller volume coffee consumers, this thing rocks.

Love the 3 cup size options and larger water reservoir on this slim mini!

  • Love the carafe, came well packaged, no issues with the stainless steel filter seam as other reviewers have mentioned. The leather wrap is difficult to undo.

Great cold brew system! We had been putting off getting one for so long. We have a keurig and simply put brewed coffee in the fridge overnight. But as our keurig seems to be dying, it was time to explore other options. I wish we had done it sooner! This system is so easy to use - add your coffee of choice and water, place it in the fridge and wait for the next day. That's it!! So easy, great tasting coffee that goes far enough for both of us. It easily fits on a shelf or the door. We're considering buying a second because of how much coffee my husband drinks or if we have company. UPDATE: After a couple weeks of use I've noticed 2 flaws to call out. When inserting the filter into the water the grounds sometimes pop up to the top of the filter. This causes the grounds to get stuck and not submerge fully into the water to brew properly. I'm not terribly picky and haven't noticed a huge difference in taste or quality. The fix is easy - insert the filter into the water slowly and if needed tap the filter firmly on the side of the carafe. With a firm tap the grounds should fall to the bottom of the filter. Also, when you insert the grounds into the carafe and twist shut it will push water out if you’ve overfilled it which some reviewers have identified as “leaking”. Simple solution is to screw on the top and tip it over the sink to pour out any excess water. Once that’s done I haven’t had any problems with leaking. Given that these issues are easily fixed, have become 2-3 extra seconds of my routine, and there is no noticeable difference in taste/quality, I'm leaving my rating as 5 stars.

  • Great addition to my kitchen and my coffee addiction 🤣

  • We LOVE this product except for one very disturbing design flaw… Each morning, we make coffee and keep the top section attached while we pour our coffee. Multiple times now, the top section has fallen off the base even though we screw it on very tightly each time. I believe the silicone screw of the top section may be too flexible when it gets hot during the brewing process and then doesn’t properly fit the metal base screw. Be VERY careful when moving the assembly or you too can have your precious morning coffee all over the kitchen floor, bedroom carpet, and more!

  • I've been using this to make my coffee for a couple of years now, including on a number of field exercises everywhere from the California desert to Japan, and have been completely satisfied. I started out looking for a pour over coffee maker that would fit on the narrow mouth of my Hydroflask coffee mug. Our ceramic pour over didn't fit, and coffee would spill all over the counter. This guy fit perfectly, so much so that I use it every morning I go to work. I will contradict what others have said - I think the Hario V60 size 01 filters are a perfect fit. Anyway, can't recommend this thing enough.

I am not the type to complain but this coffee maker must be defective as this is what it looks like after a few months. Something is oozing out from the seam below the front buttons along with everything being rusted. Not recommended.
