It works pretty good. I'm no expert on brewing coffee but it looks like it made coffee. lol Anyways this will be really convenient with my water cooler/dispenser because it also does hot water. Now I can pour it directly from the dispenser into this to make coffee and tea. Now the nitpicky stuff. The little rubber pad on the filter falls off really easily and I wouldn't trust holding just that, could easily drop the filter. Also the etchings on the glass are kinda burnt/stained on some of them. Neither of those issues will keep this from working, just making note of it. EDIT: this works MUCH better with a paper filter in it. The coffee it made was a little weak without it, the filter slows down the brewing a bit and makes it taste much better.
Didn’t notice any difference in flavor with the multi stream technology, 78oz reservoir was very nice - didn’t have to fill it up as often, and the temp selector was nice if you like hot coffee - which we do, was slower brewing compared to our old Keurig, splattered coffee on the counter with every brew - we used the same mugs and cups as we did with our old one and never had a problem.
I love this type of coffee maker. And this one worked just fine. Until it exploded. This morning I was making coffee as usual. I removed it from the heat. As usual, the coffee started flowing back into the lower carafe. When it just stopped. I waited a few moments, but it didn't start flowing again. Suddenly it just exploded. Coffee, grounds, and glass went everywhere. I am not a happy camper.
I am not a big cofee drinker but I bought this to have when family comes over, our Hispanic aunts love there cofee after dinner. It’s small enough to put away in the cabinet.
Great basic coffeemaker. I love everything about it, most of all the hard buttons (as opposed to vinyl covered touch pads) on the control panel. Bright red LCD clock and button functions are about the only thing in my home I can read without putting my reading glasses on. Simple setup and programming. Very large reservoir opening makes it easy to pour in the water. No drip carafe with a snap off lid for easy washing. And it looks nice on my counter. At this price, I may buy another one to have when this one eventually kicks the bucket!
Cute and works. But it LEAKS! PURCHASED for backup/emergency so I didn't use it until now. Very disappointed with the Water LEAK. Have to set on towel to use. Rhonda Morris.
I have been drinking ice coffee exclusively for about 15 years and buy whole beans and grind with a burr grinder. I had the queen of ice coffee makers (OXO) for many many years. It worked well even after my daughter knocked it off the counter and cracked the bottom part of the brewing container. After many years it has started to leak; the seals have worn away. I was looking for another iced coffee maker that could make about 32 Oz of dark concentrate iced coffee. I tried. Few of the infusion type available on coffeemakers.us.com and these type just can’t make concentrate no matter how long it is left to brew. If you want concentrate don’t bother with those. The water and coffee have to have a face to face meeting - anything else just doesn’t do the trick. Next I turned to French press style. I have always resisted this type due to my exp with hot brewing French press- ie super weak coffee. I bought this unit and after some exp I am pleasantly surprised and a bit delighted with it. I grind and fill it up with about 3 inches of coffee and leave it on the counter over night with the regular lid. Next day I put it in the fridge and let it set for another day. Then I switch the lids and press. I tried pouring it into another container at that point but there was too much coffee sludge. So now I leave it alone and just pour it from the press. No residue at all. When there is a few servings left I pour it out slowly into another container leaving the residue behind. It is easy to clean and I repeat the process. It makes a surprisingly large amount of concentrate and is actually easier to use than than the OXO and I use half the amount of coffee now to make just a bit less than I did with the OXO. It is a little big in the fridge so you need a wide space for it. I haven’t tried the other French press style ice coffee brewers so I cannot compare, but this one works great, is super inexpensive, uses less coffee grounds and is easy to clean. I highly recommend it.
This little coffee maker looks good and should be adequate for occasional use in a guest suite or an RV. But I don't think the build quality would be sufficient for everyday use, IMHO.
The first two images is when I received it and there was cracks on the glass. The last image is when I got a replacement for it and the replacement product had cracks on the glass as well.
This is an amazing coffee maker that has elevated my home brewing experience beyond expectations. So I love coffee as does my husband but he likes plain Jane nothing fancy just plain old coffee (drip at home, gas station, airplanes, diners, etc). Now, enter the Braun Multiserve coffee machine and this elevates both of our coffee drinking to a new level. It is so high end! It is quick and intuitive to setup straight out of the box. The feature I like the most is the flexible brewing size options which are great for when you just want a cup or travel mug sized serving and not an entire pot. Also my husband and I both agree that the Golden Cup technology (a certification that makes sure it brews at the optimal brewing temperature) truly brews a better cup of coffee. My only complaint is similar to what others have said in that the pot is difficult to clean unless you have tiny child-like hands which I do haha but I prefer to make my husband clean it and he tells me I should since my hands are smaller. Overall, I would highly recommend this coffee machine to anyone looking to upgrade their home brewing experience!
I love this carafe coffee maker. The coffee insert is a fine mesh to keep all but the fine particulates out of your coffee. The insert is lined with rubber on the top to sit nicely in the carafe, and there is a cap to keep dust out while it brews. After brewing, you remove the insert and replace with the rubber top for pouring. It doesn’t allow the coffee to come out fast enough for me, so I usually pull it out, pour, and replace it.
I thought I was getting a new coffee pot.The filter had coffee stain and the pot had dry coffee in it.Really disappointing. The coffee pot doesn’t stay on for a whole hour.
Ordered this in August for my future move. Stored it in my closet and when I opened the box, the water reservoir was cracked. I wasn’t able to use it and was past my return date… so I guess I’ll be searching for the water reservoir.
We drink a pot of coffee every day, so a reliable, easy-to-use coffeemaker is important to us. I like this one; it makes a decent pot of coffee. I don't like that you can only see the water level on the right-hand side of it; if that is the side you have near, say, your refrigerator, it's hard to see it; it would be better if the gauge was on the front. And, as other have noted, it's also difficult to pour it all out of the carafe; we end up just taking the lid off to pour. After two years, the biggest issue I have is that the bottom of the machine (what the thermal carafe rests on) has rusted. We haven't done anything to it other than wipe it off with a cloth or sponge. Nevertheless, I'm debating buying the same model again, because, overall, it does do a good job for what it costs. (I realize this may be covered under warranty, but after paying shipping costs, etc., it hardly seems worth it.)
The color is cute... and works technically but not at the capacity it says on the box. This mug is a 2 cup sized mug and the box says it makes 3 cups? Absolutely not. On top of that it makes no sound when the coffee is done brewing so if you dont stalk the maker you're probably gonna burn your maker. I am VERY disappointed. Not worth the money. :(
