I love that it helps reduce heartburn and still gives a good caffeine boost. Only downside is the lid tends to leak and that the handle is sometimes hard to take out. I'm afraid that since it's plastic, the handle might even come off at one point if I push it too hard.
I WANT TO GIVE THIS ZERO STARS!!! THIS CAME IN BROKEN!!! I have never had any issues with anything coming in broken until now i also literally just got it today and opened it
I am pleasantly surprised by how well I love this coffee maker! I never knew I needed this in my life! The auto shut off is a big plus! The brewing process brings out the best flavor of my coffee pods. Noise level is minimal ! The large capacity water tank makes it easy to brew many cups of coffee without having to refill it every time!
I love coffee so much that I roast it at home but due to some changing circumstances, I just don't always have time to make a pour-over and I thought this coffee maker would give me good consistent results. I used to use a grind and brew that made ok coffee by Cuisinart but it lasted a solid 7 years of intermittent use. It was becoming buggy so time to replace it. I was not wrong. This coffee maker makes great coffee. Consistently. Huge props to Bonavita too for standing behind their products! If you are taking the time to read these reviews, you know this is a great coffee maker. Gold cup and all that stuff is legitimate. Bonavita has been around for a long time, and it is a well known brand in coffee circles. So why only 3 stars? The coffee carafe is awful. If you want to pour without the lid, it will spill. Fine, I will screw on the lid. The worst part, however, was that after less than 6 months, the internal seal started leaking into the vacuum cavity. I filled out the warranty form on the Bonavita website, received a response within a week, and a new thermal carafe shortly after. Awesome! Right around the same time, the coffee maker stopped its cycle half-way. It would complete it after I restarted it. I read some of the reviews stating the same before buying it but quickly dismissed them thinking it was user error. I thought everyone that was complaining about the coffee maker stopping half way were experiencing this issue because they were not descaling. Descale, descale, descale. Got it. When I started experiencing the same issue, I started worrying because I descale religiously. Another warranty form fill, another quick response, and a replacement unit shortly after. Great! What isn't great is that I don't know how long this will last and getting a new coffee maker through a warranty form seems like this is not what I was hoping it is. I took the coffee maker apart and didn't see anything too worrisome with the exception of one thing. Although I'm not a huge fan of the plastic at the bottom of the heating element, that's not it. I didn't see any rust or anything leading to believe there was a leak somewhere either. What is worrisome is that the control board was overheating in some areas. I can only guess that the temperature might have fried the relay. Nothing else looks "bad" per se. I am hoping this is just a QC issue and won't have to fill out another warranty form.
I checked out a bunch of reviews and was a little skeptical, but after some digging, I decided to give it a try. Honestly, I’m really loving it! It looks great in my kitchen 💕 Plus, I love that I can choose to brew just one cup (up to 4) or go for a full 10-cup pot. Not sure what people meant when they said the app doesn’t do much; it's pretty awesome! I set my morning coffee from bed last night and woke up to that amazing smell of fresh brew today! Just a heads up—you’ll need to connect Aiden to Wi-Fi and let it update (only took about 3 minutes). I customized my brew; my husband isn’t a fan of super hot coffee, and we both like a strong medium roast. I set it to 187 - 1:17, and it turned out perfect! And I’m picky with my coffee, level Colombian picky- So trust me, you will love it. (Zruler’s Wife)
... es el tercero que compro y este me llego roto.
I was having a great time delving into the world of the French Press. This little device definitely helped usher in some of the most delicious coffee I've had at home to date. So I definitely can't complain on that end. I had a technique down pat but I also like to read and experience different methods. I decided to try the advice of this guy that was recommended on reddit via youtube and put the water in directly after boiling. Imagine my super surprise when I poured the water in and saw a crack forming. I thought it would be fine, but after about 3 minutes in that crack seemed to spread and when I picked it up to head to the sink, the thing SHATTERED. It was a huge mess of glass and coffee grinds and hot water over the counter and the floor. I did not get burned or hurt or anything. I do not know if I got a defective unit or if the integrity of my glass was harmed during shipping process, but it was incredibly scary and seemed really dangerous. I've loved the process and the coffee created from this French Press method so I have already ordered a different brand. Judging from the other reviews and comments, my experience was the rare exception and not the rule, but still, it was scary enough that I had to share what happened.
We had to return this coffee maker. I have been a loyal Bunn consumer for 20 years! This was a replacement for my old Bunn with thermal pot....they have changed the design and it overflows with coffee all over my counter! Sent it back and went to my local Bed Bath and Beyond and bought another one and it had the same issues!!!
Love, love, LOVE using this 12 oz French press with loose teas from Open Door Tea and Adagio. So pretty and so delish!
…what a complete piece of junk. I ordered three weeks ago, and this coffee maker did not drain through the filter holder this morning. There was coffee everywhere. My first thought was there must have been something wrong with the filter, but that wasn’t it. I picked up the holder (with filter, hot water, and coffee grounds), depressed the spring loaded piece on the bottom, and the coffee drained into my cup. There’s something wrong with the spring-loaded piece on the bottom of the filter holder. AGAIN, this coffee maker is only three weeks old. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Please don't buy this!!!! I only used this roughly 4 times/week using only filtered water. After about 5 months, I decided to de-scale the machine and followed provided directions. After about 10 filtered water runs after, I was totally disgusted and shocked that what appears to be metal flakes were still very abundant in my carafe! Ran a pot of 50/50 white vinegar and water and I'm still getting this after 5 pots of filtered water after. Please see my pics and DO NOT BUY THIS! Read the other negative reviews regarding the suspect chemistry behind this unit. Gross!!!!
Contacted Hamilton Beach regarding the broken coffee maker, and after explaining the situation HB honored the 1-year warranty and replaced the coffee maker with a new one of a different model (since the broken one was out of stock) of equal value! 🙂 Bought this coffee maker on June 3rd. Was working great when it worked, then today (August 15) I attempted to brew 2 cups of coffee, but it quit halfway through! The clock still works, the red light lights up, but nothing else happens. Tried to unplug it, wait several minuted, and plug it again, but still won't brew. Unfortunately the coffeemakers.us.com 'Return window' closed on Jul 5. Still can be used as a door stopper (see photo).
Mine leaked as the basket didn't fit properly over the carafe. Have requested a replacement, because it makes great tasting coffee !!
This brewer is well worth the price. The ability to totally customize your brew by size, strength and temperature is huge. Comparing the coffee from this brewer with the coffee from my inexpensive off brand brewer and the difference is like night and day.
This is a lightweight, narrow, easy to set and use all in one machine. After using it for a couple of months I've had the chance to try every feature it has. CORD LENGTH The only thing I don't care for is the short cord, but I see it's removable and likely Mr Coffee has longer cords available. Usable cord length 24" from back of the machine to where the 110 plug starts. CARAFE This is my favorite. I make a pot at 8:00 a.m. pour myself a cup and get busy doing other stuff and then came back at 5:15 to pour another cup and it was still steaming hot, got to love that! It pours without dripping, yippee, and the handle has a nice ergonomic grip. The lid is somewhat complex in its build so hand washing it would be the only way to go, it does have a translucent silicone gasket you can remove. The machine is equipped with a lever so if you remove the pot while it's still brewing it will plug the ground basket so it doesn't drip everywhere. REMOVABLE TANK AND FILTER The tank lifts straight up so if you have it under a cabinet you'll need to pull the machine forward. It doesn't leak when removing, but if you stall while lifting it will spill a few drops. It has a comfortable grip on the back of the tank and easily handled with the tank lid on. The fancy filter, I say that since it's not just carbon, is in a little cage with a long tab that snaps into the bottom of the tank. It has a yellow month dial to remind you when you changed it last. They reccomend monthly or 30 pots. It will last you longer depending on how frequently you use it. The cost of the fancy filters runs $10 for 2 pack, or did at the time of this review. CLOCK AND DELAYED BREWING This is the easiest one to set out of all I've had. Setting the time: HOUR and AM/PM- Press the hour button the display starts to flash. Next short press to select or long press for it to run through fast, let go when it gets to the correct time. It will continue to flash then go solid if you do nothing or you can now set the minutes. MINUTES- while it's still flashing from setting the hour, press the minute button and do the same as for the hour. BREW LATER- is the same as setting the hour and minute but press the " Brew Later button 1st. There will be no confusion because the words "set brew later" with illuminate under the clock. If it already has the words "brew later" under the clock then there is already a time set. If you want to cancel or turn that off press the "Brew Later" button and it will remove the program. POD/ TUMBLER ACCOMMODATION AND FULL POT BASKET POD- It has a removable basket assembly that the pod snaps into and sits in the regular coffee basket. If you have this assembly in and placed on the machine, it will detect it and only allow you to choose 6, 8,10 or 12 ounces, NOT CUPS. It also comes with a reusable pod to use your own coffee or tea instead of buying commercially made pods. The dispenser is tall enough to accommodate my 20oz stainless steel double wall vacuum insulated tumbler with about an inch to spare. FULL POT BASKET- once you remove the pod assembly and install it in the machine, it will detect this and only allow you to choose 4,6,8 or 10 cups NOT ounces. The basket has and anti drip mechanism so when you pull it off the machine you aren't dripping all the way to the trash/compost can. I am very pleased with this maker, it fits not only our coffee/tea lifestyle, packed with features, but is light enough to take it in our RV and doesn't hog alot of counterspace.
