I used to frequently drop the lid of the coffee maker's water container inside. However, my husband came up with a clever solution by adding a convenient handle to the lid. Thanks to this ingenious addition, I no longer have to worry about losing the lid inside the water container. This little handle he used is actually for phones. Our last coffee maker had a handle on the water tank lid. It really needs one for clutzos like me.
Save your money and buy a different brand. I was so excited for this and it’s a huge fail. I have owned it for one week. I have brewed with it 8 times. Twice it has given me an error to clean the grinder. I have to take it apart and make a huge mess. I buy quality beans. Also see the attached photo. Added a second photos. This has happened twice now, the beans grind and overflow in the basket making a huge mess because that part does not come out or apart to clean. Seriously. Don’t buy this piece of junk. Eight times I have brewed and the inside is the carafe is already melting. I have followed all instructions. Customer service at GE and coffeemakers.us.com is worthless. I have a $300 paperweight. Adding another issue….it claims to have a sensor to let you know if the beans are low. This is a lie. I have run out of beans multiple times with zero warning.
This pour-over dripper is super easy to use and makes a great cup of coffee every time. It’s well-made, easy to clean, and gives you full control over the brewing process. Definitely a solid choice if you love pour-over coffee!
I’ve admittedly had this product just over a year (just when the company warranty ends) and the black coating on the outside has started to chip and peel off. I contacted the seller and they simply invited me to buy another one… no thanks.
Vury good.
I saw the reviews and after making sun tea I picked up by that handle and it had come loose and only dropped an inch and shattered. Not really heavy duty glass. Now I will look to buy mason jar to go with the strainer.
What can I say it's easy to use, has a nice small footprint on my counter and makes GREAT coffee! I love it!!!!
I love coffee so much that I roast it at home but due to some changing circumstances, I just don't always have time to make a pour-over and I thought this coffee maker would give me good consistent results. I used to use a grind and brew that made ok coffee by Cuisinart but it lasted a solid 7 years of intermittent use. It was becoming buggy so time to replace it. I was not wrong. This coffee maker makes great coffee. Consistently. Huge props to Bonavita too for standing behind their products! If you are taking the time to read these reviews, you know this is a great coffee maker. Gold cup and all that stuff is legitimate. Bonavita has been around for a long time, and it is a well known brand in coffee circles. So why only 3 stars? The coffee carafe is awful. If you want to pour without the lid, it will spill. Fine, I will screw on the lid. The worst part, however, was that after less than 6 months, the internal seal started leaking into the vacuum cavity. I filled out the warranty form on the Bonavita website, received a response within a week, and a new thermal carafe shortly after. Awesome! Right around the same time, the coffee maker stopped its cycle half-way. It would complete it after I restarted it. I read some of the reviews stating the same before buying it but quickly dismissed them thinking it was user error. I thought everyone that was complaining about the coffee maker stopping half way were experiencing this issue because they were not descaling. Descale, descale, descale. Got it. When I started experiencing the same issue, I started worrying because I descale religiously. Another warranty form fill, another quick response, and a replacement unit shortly after. Great! What isn't great is that I don't know how long this will last and getting a new coffee maker through a warranty form seems like this is not what I was hoping it is. I took the coffee maker apart and didn't see anything too worrisome with the exception of one thing. Although I'm not a huge fan of the plastic at the bottom of the heating element, that's not it. I didn't see any rust or anything leading to believe there was a leak somewhere either. What is worrisome is that the control board was overheating in some areas. I can only guess that the temperature might have fried the relay. Nothing else looks "bad" per se. I am hoping this is just a QC issue and won't have to fill out another warranty form.
This beverage maker is very easy to use. The glass container and metal insert are very well made. No directions included, but you can refer to the order page for ratios of coffee to water. This is a good size that won’t take up lots of space in your fridge. I am pleased with this brewer.
I ordered this for my husband as a Christmas present. The reason I chose this model is because it can do the cup, travel mug or carafe brew. I planned to use it on Christmas Day to brew coffee for our mothers who were in town to celebrate. I was very disappointed when he opened it to find that the carafe is sold separately. I believe the description and packaging made it look as though that was included in the price. Of course on Christmas Day no one was open to run out to purchase a carafe. Hopefully it will all work out in the long run, but it wasn't a good start...
This was my first roasting experience. It was pretty cool to be able to roast my own coffee. Home roasted coffee is 100x better than 6 month old Keurig coffee pods. Unfortunately, the lid melted the first day I used it so it's going back.
I can’t use this press because it arrived broken. The whole bottom is smashed with shards of glass everywhere. It is dangerously a hazard to open. I would not buy from this company because of the defective product.
We purchased this coffee percolator back in March of 2021. I rarely leave reviews on products, but after pulling it out of storage yesterday while I was cleaning our coffee cart area I figured I would leave a review. At first we really loved this percolator. We purchased it as a replacement for our standard 12 cup drip coffee maker. The coffee had a great flavor, and stayed extremely hot. However, even with daily use and thorough cleaning the bolt at the bottom inside of the percolator began to corrode and we were noticing a weird oil slick on the coffee in less than 6 months, which is scary and can't be healthy. Since the electronics are in the bottom of the percolator it can't be cleaned in the dishwasher and must be carefully hand cleaned after every use. You also have to make sure that you remember to turn off the pot because it does not have an auto shut off. Once the bolt began to corrode I cleaned and dried the pot well and stored it and went back to using our French Press. I pulled it out yesterday and noticed that the corrosion was even worse than before and since this percolator only has a year long warranty ours is no longer under warranty by the company. So it will just unfortunately end up being tossed out with the garbage. It's a shame that products don't last longer these days.
Decent size machine for making espressos at home.Gives instructions and tips for Experienced and Novice users.I use a burr grinder at home for beans and usually do something strong like a mix of robusta beans and arabica.Overall the unit has performed flawlessly for my weekend pick me up,and it takes up minimal space, overall 4 stars just because it takes a little bit to warm water back up and its a heavy little guy for those on the smaller side so if you have to put this away every time you use it could be a hassle
I love this little machine!!! My new favorite kitchen gadget!!! If you use and take care/clean it as instructions suggest, you will have no problem! It brews the espresso and froths the milk flawlessly!!!! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this latte maker for the price! (A plus, should something happen to the carafe, lid, brew basket, froth whisk.... You can purchase replacement parts at Mr Coffee website for a reasonable price) ...if you use Starbucks espresso in your latte... It tastes exactly like the $5+ latte I would purchase at Starbucks regularly!!!! This little gem is a real money saver for any latte lover!! Highly recommend!!!
