The stainless steel parts are exceptionally clean, trying to wipe with an oil napkin, and leaving no residue behind. While it may not offer the same level of espresso quality as a home espresso machine, this portable device excels at creating a rich crema, enhancing the coffee experience even with coffee powder. Though not as intense as capsule coffee, there is a capsule coffee holder too. its small size and suitability for outdoor settings make it perfect for camping and hiking. In machine-less environments where you need coffee quickly, this machine is simpler to use than hand drip methods and brews faster. AND its packed well, so that you can know if it is totally new or used before!!
We bought this specifically for its advertised ability to break down and go in the dishwasher. However, the hing pictured is really stubborn and not the right kind of plastic for repeated separation. It broke the second time we took it apart. We followed all the instructions and are mechanically inclined, so it's probably not user error. Otherwise, it's a straightforward machine that makes a good pot of coffee. Just don't try to take it apart.
This is a nice little unit. But, the metal filter drains too fast; makes a very weak brew. I need to add a paper filter to get a good tasting cup. EDIT: the filter membrane broke after 4 months and it seems I cannot order a new one. Grounds get inside the membrane and cannot be removed; I cannot use the filter.
We resisted the K-Cup trend for a long time, but the features of this machine won us over. We are stupidly happy to make this machine our first Keurig. • Out of the box, it sets up incredibly easy. • Install the filter to the water vessel, add water and you're good to go. • You can use any K-Cup in this machine. • Selecting "Coffee", you are offered four brewing volumes to choose from. 6, 8, 10 and 12 ounces. • You can also select Latte/Cappuccino, which results in a strong shot from your pod of choice. • The heated frother is impressive. I can't believe what it does to 2% Lactaid! • Brewing times are very efficient and clean-up is very simple. • The water reservoir is easy to handle, refill and reinstall. • It's not overly noisy. • It has a larger footprint than our classic brewer but having the heated frother is worth it. • The design is smartly efficient and very good looking. Added 7/21/18: I've added a picture showing the results of frothing a single latte serving of 2% Lactaid. I think you can see the line between the froth and the liquid about half way. It's amazing. Really, the frother is the point in this model and it makes all kinds of things possible. We purchased this variety pack and recommend it highly as the perfect way to sample a wide variety of the cups that are popular here on coffeemakers.us.com. For us, this has been a great coffee/tea machine. Our first one lasted several years and was used a lot. The versatility of making your own coffee in the reusable filter cup, a regular K-cup or making tea, makes this great for our needs. If there was anything we would change, we would make it capable of taking taller cups. We hope to get as many years out of this one as we did out of the last one.
I love coffee , it was a gift from My husband i use it twice a day
This is the perfect one cup coffee system. I really appreciate the reusable coffee filter, so I can add my own ground coffee. And the insulated cup is great to automatically fill and take with me on the road. This system is fairly compact on my kitchen counter, but I would not likely take for travel and definitely not camping. This would be great to use at the office. Might be a little higher priced for what it is, but overall very useful.
I’ve been using this product for about 3 months. I did like it and found it relatively easy to use and clean. I ended up not loving the capacity so I bought I new one that would make more. I went to fill both my old and new ones tonight and found that there is mold or something growing under where the filter attached to the casing on the one I’ve been using for 3 months. I tried to carefully clean it out and the filter just pulled away from the casing. In my opinion, the filter is not made to last and I’m disappointed that mold was able to grow under it and it’s basically fallen apart after 3 months. Hopefully I can get a new filter so that the pitcher can still be used.
Wow! I have always owned a Keurig machine but this one is the best! I recently had bought, and immediately returned, another espresso machine. I did a lot of research and read a ton of reviews. I found that machine for the price to be too difficult to manage and froth the milk. But this machine, with smart technology is so fun and easy to use with the app. I decided to give this one a try. Talk about a hot cup of coffee! I like that I can choose how hot I want my beverage. My first cup of coffee sat for a half hour while I made breakfast for my family. I was pleasantly surprised that my coffee was still very hot! My favorite part is the milk frother. I have found that I can combine milk and creamer together. I tried out the espresso KCups and made myself a white chocolate mocha. The clean up was so easy. I am still pretty amazed at how quickly I can make a latte, cup of coffee or cappuccino. I wanted a machine that I can still use my KCups with and brew any coffee I want. I did purchase the new filter that matches this machine. I can use it for my Starbucks espresso and regular coffee. You can also make the milk froth cold too, not just hot! There is also an option for ice coffee! I would say that if you like a hot cup of coffee, with the option to make fun drinks, this is the machine for you! Easy set up, easy clean up!
Garbage!! Ordered one and couldn't get past the "Add Water" button. Even tried the recommendations (attached) that I found on line. FYI these recommendations were included in the replacement I ordered - but they didn't work on either coffee makers. Mr. Coffee apparently doesn't know how to make coffee anymore. I had high hopes for this coffee maker as my husband likes his K-cups and I like a pot of coffee. This was going to meet both of our needs but instead it was a bust. 2 coffee makers returned within the week.
CL cold brew container! I give this product 5 stars, because it works great for me. I use it with coffee grounds and could see where iced tea would work great, also! I would drink tea out of it and have enjoyed sun decaf tea in jars before! I love the size of this item, which is perfect for us! It is convenient to use, literally no learning curve! I usually brew from beans, but had a bunch of grounds and was not able to brew fast enough to keep them fresh! I think ppl who posted neg reviews have been basing their ratings on the drink they made inside of it instead of the product itself!
We've had this for about a year now and I love it. The cone type filter helps get the maximum flavor from the grounds. Easily settable options for the warmer plate temperature (high-medium-low) let me set it as I like. The programmed auto-start works just fine, though I nearly always start my brew manually when I want coffee. It has settings for regular and strong brew; I go with strong but that's just my preference. Also a setting for when you're making 4 cups or less - that's usually the case for me. All these options can be selected individually and they're displayed nicely on the control panel. So you can easily specify any combination of these, and see how it will brew before and after starting. I've used the provided permanent filter, as well as paper ones. I prefer the paper, but only because it works best with the coffee grind that I use. Both do work. Cleaning the coffee maker: The manual says to use Braun's own cleaning solution, and to rinse once afterwards by filling the vat with plain water. I refuse to pay the cost of that solution. I have been using a 50-50 blend of white distilled vinegar and tap water. Afterwards, I rinse by filling the vat with tap water and running a "brew" cycle. I'm a bit obsessive so I rinse three times. Two is probably enough. I did have one issue. Here's a word to the wise for other users. My photo here shows a little nub on the underside of the filter holder. Circled in yellow. That nub is what makes the filter holder "pop" into place as you press it down into the coffee maker. I used to always remove the holder for rinsing after each pot. One day, after rinsing it and then putting it back in, I pressed down too hard and too fast, and I broke that nub. I was able to get the holder to stay down without the nub (long story), but I later found a replacement part so it now works as it should again. To prevent future trouble, I now nearly always leave the filter holder in the coffee maker. Instead of rinsing it in the sink, I rinse it by filling the cone funnel with plain water and letting it drain into the empty carafe. I fill and drain it twice, and call it clean. I'm a happy camper.
I purchased this item as a birthday gift and for some reason, I was sent a used and dirty coffee maker. Dust, dirt, and grime all over the black plastic parts. It seems the filter and the glass carafe could be new, but there’s no way that the other parts of the machine weren’t used and NOT cleaned. Not to mention I didn’t purchase a refurbished item (which even if I did, this item is not ready for resell). Unusable, and will have to be returned.
First, if you are one of the coffee maker searchers who want an alarm when its done making the coffee move on. Why you would need an alarm to let you know it's ready is beyond me. If I make coffee, I want it now and I'm hanging out waiting for it. Actually, every coffee maker I've ever owned has a built in alarm as it loudly sputters when done to get all the water through the machine. That said, this makes greats coffee, the count-down timer on the machine lets you know how many minutes are left until it automatically turns off the heating plate. Easy to set the time and use. Water in the back and coffee in the the front and it uses normal sized round filters. I have always used a mesh plastic and metal round filter in my makers as I find it easier to clean and mine fit perfectly. Very solid construction. My only issue is you need to try and not pour the coffee to your cup to quickly because it can start to pour back along the lip and make a mess. Take your time and its fine.
Our old French press ended up meeting the floor and shattering... So I got this one as a replacement. I'm guessing I should have bought a more expensive one. I'm less than impressed with this one. It is very very cheaply made. The lid does not stay tight and wiggles a lot. Coffee pours out of all sides not just the side it's supposed to. One of my biggest complaints though is that the inside of the lid is not long enough to cover the pour spout opening. Therefore, it lets air in and cools the coffee off much faster than it should! Overall, I feel like three stars might be generous.
