  • As soon as this beauty arrived Iimmediately installed the older thermostat set for 206F vs original set at 202F. Then, discovering PIDs, installed a PID controller to more precisely set tank temperature to what ever I wanted, added a switch to be able to use either thermostats( 206F kicked off at 205.4F) and then a temperature gauge installed as close to brew head as possible. I have never had better coffee than what I"m brewing with this machine. Recently learned about the 4:6 pour-over method and am trying to do this with timing the pour into the Bunn. Has made a difference, organic beans and a quality grinder all add up to wonderful coffee. It would be nice if Bunn where to isolate the brew head from all the metal around it as they did with the brew tube going to the SS tank that is isolated with a silicone washer. I think they got that set up bassacwards...To my way of thinking, they should have welded it to the tank and the other end at the brew head be isolated with the silicone washer, thus keeping the brew temperature as high as possible. Welding it to the brew head has the whole SS top of that area acting as a heat sink, sucking temperature out of the water. Still a beautifully simple machine that brews wonderful coffee. Well worth my investment in the VP17 and my additions. Photo shows the PID with the main heating coil turned off. The exterior wrap around heating unit keeps tank really warm, I only use the in tank heating element to get water up to brewing temperature which only takes a few minutes. If you ever try this yourself remember, the tank can heat (with the PID) to 211(no need to go to boiling at 212f) so regular wiring won't work in hi heat environment.

  • I use this to strictly make tea. We have been using this twice everyday for almost a year now. We have had no issues and if I can find a bigger one we will change over to that!

Based on owning it just over a month, performs perfectly. Love the larger water well. To over-ride the automatic shutoff - with the unit on, press and hold the “strong” and “10oz.” buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The Auto Off light should turn off.

I can't drink reg hot coffee without cream or sweetener. So I had heard Ice/Cold Brew is much smoother and less bitter . I bought this and absolutely love it. I bought the 2 quart and it works great . I wish it worked faster but that is the only trade off is having to prepare ahead . I may buy another one to make it easier to have on hand at all times. Its also great with cream , flavor syrups and sweeteners too.

Bought this for my husband because his espresso machine broke and he’s used to making his own coffees at home. When I say this man loves espresso..he’ll brew a double espresso a good 4 times a day if not more. I came across this and love that he can brew a little pitcher of espresso that he can chill and use throughout the day instead of having to brew it and chill it multiple times a day. He’s obsessed with it already and will probably get rid of his old espresso machine at this point. The only thing I don’t like is that it sometimes it leaks a little water out into the tray while brewing. We’ve followed the instructions to a T, so not sure what makes it happen, but it’s only a minor inconvenience it seems like.

  • I bought this coffee pot when my other one went up and I like the versatility of having a carafe also a pod option as well, although it brews really nice the coffee does not come out hot I end up having to microwave my coffee also it don't have a keep warm feature. I've also noticed that at the top of the stainless steel carafe it's coming apart, as you can see in the picture. I've had this pot now for about 3 months and there's no way it should come apart. Very disappointed in this particular model.

This is our go- to coffee pot, actually our 4th one to buy from coffeemakers.us.com. Never had one that lid won't close. Am I to return this obviously flawed design back to coffeemakers.us.com? Seems like more trouble than just buying one somewhere else.

This is how it would look like after washing in dishwasher for several months.

  • Worked well for 4 months, about twice a week. Then cracked with hot water

  • I owned a Ninja coffee maker before and the LCD panel for the clock failed over the three-years I owned it, making it impossible to set the clock. Otherwise, I was happy with the device, so I ordered a new one. This time, the product was damaged when I received it. (Refer to the attached photo.) As it works and I have a very busy schedule, I plan to keep it and try a different brand from a local store later this year.

First off, I purchased this to replace a BUNN GRB Velocity Brew that I had for 8 years. I'm not sure if that is out of the ordinary for them to last that long or if I just took good care of it; but I was really sad to see it finally go. Anyway, I initially was going to purchase the same model since it had served me so well. My wife, however, wanted something a little more modern looking. After reading several positive reviews and having loved my other Bunn so much, I decided to purchase this coffee maker. After using this for about two months, I can say that I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase. It looks really nice, and it feels very strong. Not sure strength of a coffee maker matters, but this does have some weight. As far as the performance is concerned, this works perfectly. It brews just as fast as my old Bunn, and I really don't taste any difference in the coffee. I was a little skeptical of the lack of a warming plate, but the thermal carafe does a good job keeping the coffee hot for about 2 hours. My one and only complaint is that there is no way to measure the amount of water you are putting in the carafe. Because it is all metal, there is obviously no way to see through and estimate the amount of coffee. There are no notches on the inside that you can use for measurement purposes. So, I end up measuring the water with my old clear Bunn carafe. This might not bother those who make a full pot every time, but I generally only make four to six cups. Using the old carafe solves this issue though. Overall, this is a great product and works very well. As a very forgetful person, the lack of warming plate is actually nice. It prevents me from forgetting to turn it off. Also, this looks really sleek and modern. I am very happy with this coffee maker. It is really like a 4.5 star product; but since that is not an option, it gets 4 stars.

  • Love this expresso maker so much my sister now has one and we got this one for my parents for Christmas as well. It makes a great espresso, easy to use with everything you need. The quality is superior to other brands we’ve tried. The milk frother is excellent and the cleaning cycles are great as well. Change the filters and also use filtered water to preserve the life of your machine. Have had no problems with mine that I’ve had now for 6 years, so I’m hoping it lasts a long time!

  • This is my fourth electronic espresso machine and the very nicest espresso machine I have had. I didn't need this but when I saw it I wanted to give it a try. It's not perfect - but it's about as close as you can get in this price range. First, it has a very slim form - shockingly slim and attractive. It comes with contraptions/adaptors for utilizing all the most popular pods or coffee types available - maybe not all that there are but certainly a lot of options. It can take a K-cup pod, Nespresso pod, Dulce Gusto, re-usable K-cup, freshly ground coffee bean or even instant coffee. I had to find a couple of videos to watch because the book was ridiculously complicated and a lot to read. It's actually pretty simple to use once you learn the steps - which are important to do in the correct order. Unlike most espresso machines, it has 7 water dispensing levels. In my photo you can see the green lights - each green light setting represents 2 ounces. I measured the output on all of them and they are spot on - no exceptions. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and even 14 ounce water output. What this means is, you can make an Americano with this unit without having to add your own water later, it does the entire process for you, and froths the water and coffee together so brilliantly that the taste is amazing. Americano is my favorite drink but read on, because I did do a couple of other things with this that the book or instructions don't discuss. It comes with a nice little rubber mat where the coffee mug sits, to prevent the cup from vibrating around. This is important because if you place this on a fabric mat it's going to really vibrate. As you can see, I put mine directly on the counter and the rubber feet on the coffeemaker really make it stable when the surface beneath is solid instead of fabric. The water tank is rather small, maybe only holds a quart and a pint. Not terrible, just pay attention, and because the feet make it difficult to pull and push this unit around on the counter, I would suggest placing it where you can easily refill it without being required to move it around. Also, once your drink is dispensed, I recommend leaving the tray for a few minutes to allow any residual water to drip out - the catchall tray beneath does catch any extra drips and this will prevent you from spilling drops of coffee on the counter, if that is an issue you don't like to do. It heats up SUPER fast from cold to hot - in just seconds - however, the water is never super hot. It always makes coffee at just around 147 degrees. This is the one (slightly weak) point where it is not perfect. My photo shows the readable temp (a bit fuzzy) at 146.7, which is OK for me, but my husband does like his a bit hotter, and there is no way of raising the temperature without microwaving it for a few seconds afterward This is not a major issue for me since the resulting coffee is so tasty and exactly the right texture, but some folks might disagree. I made every type of coffee I had on hand, same delicious results. I even tried it with instant mushroom coffee to see how that turned out - and to my surprise it is my favorite, simply because of the way this machine handles the water and delivers it with Bubbles in your cup (almost tastes frothed). I also did something else (which might not be recommended but it works). I used the little tray pictured in my last photo - the same one I used for the instant coffee, and this time after making a 6 oz cup of coffee, I filled this little tray (not quite to the top) of eggnog. Then I set the water dispense setting to the lowest - 2 oz and let it push the eggnog into my coffee mug. It was incredible! I used coconut eggnog but any would work because it does not go through the coffee maker, instead the coffeemaker delivers water through the pod area to dispense the contents, which in this case is the eggnog, so it does water it down a bit. No damage is done to the unit and you remove the tray and rinse, with no issues whatsoever. The trick to the water dispenser - unlike other drip style or pour-over styles is that the water does not drip straight through, it is pushed into the dispensing area then goes around the area in sort of an S and moves to another drip-out location, which creates the bubbles/air in the the delivered contents. Genius!!! I love this. I love how quickly it heats the water. It is a little on the loud side - but tolerable. It delivers the amount of water designed for each dispense level. It is so versatile and it has all the attachments to make just about anything you want in the way of a hot drink. Great little invention and addition to my coffee center.

In my previous review I have this item 3 stars. For display issues and water pressure warnings. I competitions cleaned the k-pod holder and did needle maintenance and so far after 4 brews I haven't had the error. As far at the display issues. That was human error. When the machine would heat water after a brew. I assumed it was repeating the processes again and was turning it off thinking this would bring up the time. When in fact I was really just turning the machine off! So after a new and the machine would beat the water I just left it alone. And voila! The time displayed just as I set it up in the menu with the correct wallpaper. Although, when I was turning it off sometimes the time would come up with no wallpaper? But I'll see how it does in the next 2 weeks. If no more errors I'll give it 5 stars! ****Update**** After my initial review the water pressure issue just kept getting worse. I've cleaned the needle several times, never saw anything that would cause the water pressure issues, yet I still constantly get them. One time I even found a melted slither of plastic in my aluminum tumbler. Can't even find accessories on coffeemakers.us.com to replace the needle, holder, or collection tray.
