My wife and I ran a pretty basic Mr. Coffee into the ground after about a decade, and went with this as a replacement for it. It is a major step up in just about every way. The richness of the flavor on the bold setting, for one - even with the extra two cups this coffee maker brews, I can actually use less coffee grounds and still have stronger coffee. As a guy who likes my coffee super strong, I am loving this. The 14 cup carafe is nice, as is the option to brew a single mug at a time with the 1-4 cup setting. And this doesn't require paper filters. I'm not saying that the upgrade will pay for itself necessarily, but each of these small things does save a few bucks here and there. I am thoroughly enjoying the upgrade and feeling like I'm getting my money's worth out of it already.

  • This is my second purchase now of The Scoop. First one was their older model I had for several years with no mechanical problems. Only issue I had was my favorite mug didn’t fit right in this machine and it was a little messy. If your mug is over 7 1/2 inches it won’t fit. Mine is slightly over 🙄 otherwise I loved the machine! Easy to use and clean. Newer model improved greatly! They fixed the messy problem and it brews now with pressure instead of just being a dripper so the coffee brews stronger. Still can’t use my favorite mug but oh well! Still much cheaper than having one of those pod required coffee machines and now finally with the same brew quality! I definitely recommend this machine! My only complaints are it still doesn’t fit my favorite mug and why doesn’t the refill tank hold enough water to brew 3 full mugs, it’s 2 ounces shy lol?

The Rumble Jar filter is great. The packaging for the Mason Jar is not, the jar was broken during shipment. I would order just the filter and go to the store for the Mason Jar.

  • Top things to know: 1. 100% stainless steel parts and NO PLASTIC 2. May look complicated to assemble but it is easy! I had never used a french press before and after a couple days I can assemble it in 20 seconds. 3. Great customer service 4. Coffee tastes SO much better than drip machine! I had never used a French press before, but I am working on getting my kitchen plastic free. This seemed like a good alternative to my traditional Mr. Coffee pot brewed through a lot of plastic pieces. The little booklet that comes with it explains how to use it clearly and how to clean it properly. I haven't had a chance to experiment with different types and coarsenesses of coffee yet as I am still going through my Costco 3lb super fine ground can, but it works fine and the same coffee I was using in Mr. Coffee pot tastes way better made using this French press! I bought this brand for the French press because it specifically said that 100% of the parts are stainless steel. I was nervous about buying on coffeemakers.us.com and didn't want a fake stainless steel press that is actually poorly made. So far I am happy with my purchase and I trust the company. They replied to my emails quickly and personally! Overall, I think this company is trustworthy and the product is good quality and much better than drip coffee as far as taste and plastic toxins!

The bella VersaBrew 2-in1 Coffee Maker, Fits-anywhere Kitchenware, Brew 3 Sizes Carafes & Single Serve Cups, Dishwasher Safe Reusable Filter & Filter Holder, Iced Coffee Function, 60oz Tank, Oatmilk is the ideal coffeemaker. This model has everything you want in a modern coffeemaker plus it's lightweight, a compact design and comes in a very chic selection of colors. I got mine in Oatmilk. I would call it a cross between a creamy tan and a light grey. It pretty much goes with everything. I love how they incorporated the insertion of the pods directly into the regular basket instead of them being separated. This really helps with having less mess to clean when you use both regular ground coffee and pods. We tend to use pods during the week and make full pots of coffee on the weekend and it's been so nice only having to clean one mess instead of two. The coffeemaker is very streamlined and everything is so easy to read and understand. No difficult instructions with this one, everything is straightforward. It has a nice, large water tank, it holds 60 ounces. No worries about filling it up after just a cup or two. And, no drips... seriously... This really is a fantastic coffee maker.

  • I grew up on coffee being made on a Percolator & was using them until just about 6yrs ago when I decided to jump on the "pod" bandwagon. To be honest, was never really satisfied but the convenience overshadowed the lack of quality of a good, hot & strong cup of coffee(and before you judge- no, I didn't go cheap and buy the common one, I splurged and went for it...making sure I had one of the best out there) that said, although tasty, I was never satisfied with the quality of "pod" coffee....great flavor/s but never, ever "hot". I finally pulled the plug, did some research and bought myself the Moss & Stone Electric Coffee Percolator & could not be happier. First, its beautiful and compliments my home design aesthetic, but most important of all- it makes a damn good cup of coffee! My home is now filled with the wonderful aroma of vanilla and my coffee mug filled with a piping hot cup of deliciousness. Sorry "pod" coffee makers, your just not a match to a good 'ole cup of hot coffee made with a Percolator.

  • I don't know if it was advertised as not being dishwasher safe, but just beware that the coating is super cheap. This happened second time I put it in the dishwasher.

This countertop Nespresso Breville exceeds every expectation we had, and has made mornings a joy because of the unit’s ease of use, speed of brewing, and excellent engineering. Ours brews approximately 16 ounces of perfect cappuccino in about three minutes. Unlike the advertisements which show a glass cup on the adjustable “shelf,” no cup is included with the unit—but most any cup or mug will fit under the spout of the machine. Other than refilling the water tank after about five cups of coffee, the unit is maintenance-free. When the dome-shaped top is opened by lifting a crescent-shaped lever, the used “pod”’is automatically ejected into a holding tank on the rear of the unit, making room for a new “pod.” Unlike steam-type cappuccino machines, this unit is remarkably quiet in operation. Best of all, it brews consistently excellent coffee.

Great coffee. Horrible design that leaks. Filter paper that comes with it clogs to easily. Update (9/16/18): Worse off now after contacting and having gasket replaced due to faulty manufacturer. Still leaks (quite a problem in the fridge but at least it smells like good coffee). Fourth time calling FINALLY got a new unit sent. Same problem still exists. You're better off with a toddy or find a good pre-made cold brew and save yourself the hassle of this

The info states that the top of the lid has a glass handle, but it's clearly plastic as you can see the molding marks within the center displayed in the photo. The unit itself seems okay, first percolator I have ever owned, so no comparison to go on. You definitely will need a filter for fine grounds, or use coarse grounds if you don't want to get a separate filter.

Overthinkers and over researchers: This review is for you. I spent weeks researching single serve coffee makers about 15 months ago. Why? Because that’s what I do. If you’re on the fence, PLEASE read this and just order it. It’s worth it, spend the research time thinking about something else. Background: I’m no coffee snob. Too lazy and apathetic for a French press; I usually throw some Folgers in a goodwill or hand-me-down coffee maker and move on with my life. If you truly care about all the intricacies that coffee enthusiasts are passionate about, this probably isn’t the machine for you. I moved into an apartment with not a ton of counter space, and as a single (yet very eligible) bachelor, I wanted something easy and cheap that got the job done. I started mainly looked at coffee makers that were k cup compatible, but ultimately decided against it as the cost per cup is much higher with the k cups, and they take up more storage space in my cupboards. Plus, I like being able to control how much coffee grounds I use. I went with this one for a few reasons: 1) Small footprint 2) Brews more than most pod coffeemakers (16oz vs usually 12oz) 3) Came with a mug 4) Got one used here on coffeemakers.us.com on sale for $18 I’ve been using it almost daily for about 15 months now, and it shows no signs of slowing down. Just throw water in it, put some grounds in (I use a leftover protein powder scoop that is the perfect size), and hit the switch. I have tried the Italian coffee brand coffee pads that are great if you prefer, and are cheaper than K cups. I timed brewing it with a full ~16oz mug for this review. Just under 2 minutes and 45 seconds until it shut itself off and I had a cup of piping hot coffee. I think it’ll drip a few seconds afterwards, idk. I don’t pay enough attention. Tip: to clean the grounds from the filter easily, I take both the filter and the plastic holder underneath it out together, dump the grounds down the garbage disposal, and cover the drain hole with my finger while filling and dumping out water to rinse out the ground remnants. Every so often, I throw the entire coffee maker in the dishwasher to clean it. I was concerned that none of my mugs would fit. Turns out all of them did except one bulky plastic mug. If it’s under ~7 inches tall, it’ll fit just fine. I have a sunwill 20oz mug from here that fits perfectly, and an Ozark trail mug from Walmart that fits great as well. One or two of my mugs have very wide bases that sit a little tilted because of the size of the bottom of the coffee maker, but it does not spill or hold any less liquid as a result and is still stable. I’ll throw in a pic with all the mugs I have that are compatible for reference. I recently thought about replacing this and revisiting the thought of buying a machine compatible with k-cups. After researching this (again), I have decided once again to stick with the B&D. It’s small, isn’t full of stupid features I won’t use, and is not noteworthy in any way — just dump grounds/water in, wait a few minutes, and move on with your day without even thinking about it. How it should be. I wish I could write more about it, but I’m out of stuff to say. It’s easy, it works great, and that’s it. Buy it. It’s a great value and does what it needs to do without any extra fuss. Take the extra money you saved and buy yourself a case of beer. You deserve it.

  • So far the brewer is working nicely but unfortunately when I opened it up for the first time I noticed the filter has a hole in it on the bottom, Kinda disappointing since I bought this coffee maker to use grounds and k cups. I was sent a replacement filter but that one also is not usable because it has a slice down the side. I did not ask for another one after that because it seemed pointless, if the filters are that bad out of the box they probably would not last very long any ways. Would like to give this brewer a 5 star but I just couldn't given that the filters you order for the brewer are very bad but at least I can still use if for k-cups.

Had this coffee maker for a little over two years and got an error message. Won’t turn on or brew coffee. From what I can tell it is done. I would take a hard pass on this model. It always leaked when you pour the coffee too!
