My wife and I love French press coffee and make it every morning. She didn't like the aesthetic of our stainless steel press and wanted to try something glass. I ordered this Bodum--it seemed well reviewed. We loved it for the first dozen or so uses. It's more compact than our stainless steel one, a little easier to clean, and definitely less of an eyesore on the counter. But then I was making coffee one morning and an enormous chunk of glass in the front section simply fell off. You will see it in the images. I was standing right next to the press when it happened with my hands on it (the cycle was almost complete). Fortunately, years of playing video games prepared me for this moment (and little else). I was able to whip my hands away without suffering any burns--only a little coffee got on my fingers. The glass did peel away in one big chunk so thankfully nothing shattered and scattered. No injuries. But there could have been. I'm not sure if it's a manufacturing defect or simply poor quality, but I might consider other options if I were you. We've gone back to our double-walled stainless steel and won't ever try glass again.
Worked fine for several months until one morning the outer bottom glass spontaneously exploded while in my hand. Fellow support seemed unsurprised and recommended warming the carafe with a hot towel before pouring coffee in it each time? Despite looking nice, this has some serious design flaws and we would definitely recommend avoiding.
Excellent! One cup capacity is perfect for 8 oz - 12 oz or travel mug with water reservoir on side. The energy saving feature will Auto Off unit 5 minutes after last brew. In addition to capacity size, top includes button option for stronger brew or iced beverage as well as lights to indicate add water or descale. A good value with minimal noise; uses K-Cup pods or can provide hot water as needed. Instructions provided, easy to assemble. Nicely updated design.
Horrible coffee pod maker. I've had many but this one leaks with every kind of pod. It would not even puncture the Nespresso pod. Terrible design and you cannot even fit a regular mug inside the small opening! For anything other than espresso you have to remove the drip tray so all liquids just run out onto counter... including when the ood dies not get pierced. Frustrating when there is not even tech support nights, weekends, or after 3 on Friday... exactly when most people would be available to set up or troubleshoot. Even during business hours I just got voicemail. Very very disappointing. So love the multi-pod option and thought I had found my "dream machine" but the machine is cheaply made (feeks like a toy) and design is very poor (not user friendly).
I got this French press to try out. I've been using glass ones and I'm always breaking them, so I wanted something a little sturdier. This has worked great so far. It's super easy to clean compared to the glass (with the metal casing/handle) and I've really liked using it.
After breaking two glass French presses I opted for something a little more industrial. Works great. And it's huge!
We bought one that was a refurbished unit on June 12 of 2024 and July 10, 2024. The brew light had quit working. The normal cycle had stopped running any unit leaks only way it will run is if you use strong cycle and it still does not have a running light except for every once in a while, so you can hardly tell when coffee maker is working purchasing one that was refurbished in my opinion was a mistake. I do love having a Hamilton Beach flex brew coffee maker, but purchasing one refurbished is not the best idea I believe purchasing a new one would be better. That is why I only gave this review 2 1/2 to 3 stars.
I got rid of my larger and older Keurig for the new improved, multi hole punching one. It was going great for awhile, but now the add water light comes on all the time, even when full of water. The only way it will stop, is if I unplug the unit, remove the water reservoir and turn the Keurig upside down at the sink while pressing a cloth into the water entry hole on the base. I can make a cup of coffee for a friend and my next cup is showing to add water, with a full reservoir. This is usually daily, if I make more than one or 2 cups. I only use bottled water. Never had this issue with my older unit. My friends think it's a piece of junk. I have descaled and done everything that I know you do. Seriously looking at other brands.
We purchased an instant pot in January. It was replaced by the manufacturer in March, and now we're having issues again because it doesn’t brew coffee and the coffee grounds are disappearing inside the machine. Our first machine was cracked and stopped brewing both coffee and Nespresso pods. The second machine also stopped brewing coffee pods and only dispensed clear water. We contacted the manufacturer again and they sent us a brand new one for the third time. I'm now in the process of returning it through coffeemakers.us.com. It's a terrible product, never works, and it's a hassle to deal with every morning. Additionally, it's very loud and leaks a lot. I would rate it 0 stars if I could.
I have used this once a day for less than a month and the glass has moved up and out of the plastic shell that protects the glass. There is no way to push the glass back in. This leaves the glass which is very thin susceptible to being broken.
I laughed when I first saw this at a friend's house. However, this little devil has proved to be a go-to. If you are looking to get that cuban coffee without having to watch the hot stove this is ideal. Ended purchasing one for my 85 year old cuban grandmother and she is quick to tell me it's great as it brews it without having to watch the stove. And the plus for her is my 94 y/o grandpa can still have his cagecito without burning himself or the house.
Amazing product! Makes everything taste like a million bucks.
I love this Amaste Expresso machine easy to set-up and use, clear directions, can select manual or auto to make coffee and easy to clean. You can store the milk compartment in the fridge. The machine does not take up a lot of space on your counter and is very easy to clean. I have always wanted an Expresso machine but thought it was too much work, this is so simple and easy to use. It is loud. My grandkids will love making their own lattes.
I loved this brewing equipment for about 2 weeks but then the closing (plastic) mechanism came off track (maybe it warped with the heat) and, despite my best efforts, would not reset when the brewer was closed. All I got was some hot water as the mechanism was channeling the water not through the pod but alongside it. Very disappointing. I've had to go back to an older backup brewer.
So... I love coffee, to the point my friend and I roast our own and have tried just about every brewing method out there. The Nitro Cold Brew Coffee Maker is the coolest, most fun and tastiest caffeine delivery system so far. It's easy to setup, use and gives you a great beverage every time. I personally use straight cold brew and like to super-nitro it with as much foam as possible, then I add cream and a little water to thin it out after it's poured. The great thing about the Nitro Cold Brew Coffee Maker is you can customize the strength to your taste and with the bleeder valve adjust the level of nitro to your desired level. If you like coffee, especially cold brew, you HAVE TO get one!!!
